Any body know what's happening with Marcus Mcguane? Seems to be rumbling on for ever.

Red balloons

1.) 07 Feb 2020 15:41:02
Clapson seems to think paperwork nor completed, but emphasises he's an U23 prospect not First Team. The saga continues. .

2.) 08 Feb 2020 20:03:36
Probably international clearance.

3.) 09 Feb 2020 11:07:01
I can reveal from an impeccable source that Chris Cohen and Reidy gave McGuane and a couple of other lads as yet unidentified a thorough work out at the Academy yesterday morning. His signing will probably be announced tomorrow. Unless of course it was a fitness test and they failed it!

06 Dec 2019 09:34:07
Carvalho to Trabzonspor is being rumoured.
God yes please. Get as much back as possible and invest for promotion push.
I know this move would Divide opinion but most people seem to be coming on board every week that he just hasn't worked out.

Bye 👋👋👋.

2.) 06 Dec 2019 11:46:56
Could just be like you said about someone else linked to us Skegsjay, fake newspaper report.

3.) 06 Dec 2019 12:33:21
It could well be wtw but it's more than likely he will be gone somewhere come January.

4.) 06 Dec 2019 22:08:14
After the millwall game I'd consider flogging a few more players.

5.) 07 Dec 2019 19:55:22
Why can't everyone just lay off carvalho and get behind him when picked, Silva was appalling against millwall giving the ball away constantly and contributing very little, yet no complaints about him because he only cost 2.5 mill, 🤔🤔🤔.

6.) 07 Dec 2019 20:26:12
I can not agree with you on that one 79, Osborn cost us nothing yet inspite him giving 100% every game and in a couple of seasons having the most assists in a Championship season some kept on his case only mentioned his weaknesses. You off course do not agree but for me when a player has cost the club a lot of money by their standards then i'm inclined to expect more from that player.

Carvalho was unlucky to have missed a lot of the pre season because he got clobbered and was out as a result but he should be more consistent by now. I hope he makes the grade it is down to the owners not the fans to make the final decision on his fate.

7.) 07 Dec 2019 20:49:20
So do you think Silva is consistent?
And do you think he'll ever score a goal for us?

8.) 07 Dec 2019 21:03:48
I think Silva has adapted to English football better, and he has not been at the club anywhere near as long as Carvalho, if Sabri plays him with the aim of scoring i think he is capable of doing it. L

9.) 07 Dec 2019 21:20:44
Then you haven't been watching him he takes every free kick that comes to nothing, takes every corner that mostly comes to nothing and the best you can say about his shooting is to tell him not to.
Busy player but gives the ball away far too much.

10.) 07 Dec 2019 21:41:25
That's just me even it up on cavs replacement no goals and very few assists, its all about what cavs cost with you lot.

11.) 07 Dec 2019 22:03:49
He broken up more other teams attacks than Carvalho has assists and goals to his name. Carvalho thinks making a tackle to get the ball back so he can create something for us is beneath him, it is a team sport, gone are days when you can carry a player untill he decides to pick the perfect pass, or show a bit of skill then scores. Like i have said i hope he can make the grade but he needs to do sooner rather than later. I notice you have not mentioned anything about Osborn costing nothing and still getting stick.

12.) 07 Dec 2019 22:33:08
No tens aren't expected to win balks they have to win games with their assists and goals, I saw a striker? last night who couldn't be a striker and cudn't score if hos life depended on it but was marginally better at tackling, buts that's not what they are there for.

Silva won't score a goal all season and won't assist much either.
Like I say if it wasnt for the fact that cavs cost 13 million non of you would be complaining, that's all it's about and all it's ever been about.

Like say also semedo had a stinker and he's valued at 25 mill, ameobi cost nothing had a first half stinker but came good, just stop getting on one players back because he cost 13 million, if you want to call someone then take it out on the owners who are wasting another 100 million on a new stadium trying to please some of you with the crap they give you with players that cost 13 million.
Think about that.

13.) 07 Dec 2019 23:03:02
On another note Osborn struggles to even make the bench at Sheffied.
The boy is just a grafter that can't nail down a position for his career.
One of the best engines I've ever seen and a remarkable injury free career but lacks any killer instinct and doesn't know his true position.

14.) 08 Dec 2019 00:34:40
Like i said about Osborn for about two seasons he had the most assists in the Championship, yet he cost nothing and kep getting stick, as for his true position it is not his fault every manager liked he could cover different positions and therefore played him in them, Not Bad having the Most Assists in the Championship for a player that does not know his best position yet still got slated. Yet you think Carvalho only gets slated because of his value. 🤔🤔🤔.

15.) 08 Dec 2019 10:54:27
79, he was the most expensive transfer in the clubs history, ofcourse people are going to expect more of him. I don't see why you feel so personally offended that people want rid of him but the fact is that he hasn't delivered. Silva might not be the best either but in my opinion, and it seems Sabris too, he is better than Carvalho.

16.) 08 Dec 2019 12:19:33
Skegsjay feels Carvalho will be leaving in January, maybe Skegsjay is right. If Carvalho leaves it could mean someone will come in that is better than Silva and Carvalvo while a decent back up to Grabs Two joins the team. The transfer window is going to be interesting to see who,and how many comes in.

17.) 09 Dec 2019 14:04:46
Ben Osborn? Most assists in the Championship? When? lol

2014/ 15: 4 assists.
2015/ 16: 5 assists.
2016/ 17: 7 assists.
2017/ 18: 5 assists.
2018/ 19: 5 assists.

Lolley got 11 assists last season and the assist leaders in this division tend to be around a dozen or more each season. Not 5 or 7.

18.) 10 Dec 2019 22:54:36
Well that was a day wasted of your life sutty most of us have seen enough of him play over the years not to believe wtw.
I'd get some sleep now after doing the homework. lol. 😀😀😀.

03 Oct 2019 17:01:50
Just looking at the first team squad on official website. 31 players. Sabri wants a squad of about 23/ 24. Come January try to get rid of pants, muric, milosavic, benalouane, hefele, yacob, Mir, and Clough. Try and offload Carvalho to Olympiacos and that leaves 22. Sign a striker and a good gutsy box to box midfielder and we are sorted for a push to the big time. Forget the top 6 it's all about the top 2 for me.

Red balloons

1.) 03 Oct 2019 18:00:19
A very tenuous friend of a friend (colleagues partners grand daughters grand father) is a Leicester scout and according to my colleague Leicester are looking at Worrall. I’d let him go for about £25m.

2.) 04 Oct 2019 07:43:47
If were serious about promotion I wouldn't let him go for any amount, surprised you would let him go.

3.) 04 Oct 2019 11:13:54
Yates is our box-to-box midfielder, don't need any more.

4.) 04 Oct 2019 12:27:40
Yep forgot about him bsered. Spot on mate👍.

5.) 05 Oct 2019 10:59:00
Semedo is your box to box man 👌🏼.

6.) 05 Oct 2019 12:13:10
Agree with most of the departures but wouldn’t let Carvalho go or Worrall. Probably keep Pants too as back up.

I think the area we need to strengthen is an extra striker. Not much else needed.

7.) 06 Oct 2019 07:11:10
I would let Carvalho go. If our owner could make a bumper deal to Olympiacos happen to raise some funds for a striker I'd be happy. Without a doubt Joao has talent in there somewhere, but for the money we paid for him, I expected him to be tearing up the Championship, but instead he just toddles around the pitch and loses the ball way too much.

8.) 08 Oct 2019 23:44:55
I'm sorry, I must have read that wrongly, suggestions of offloading Carvalho to Greece. What utter tosh! That man is one of the most talented players I've seen pull on the garibaldi in years. In his first full season in English football, he contributed to 12 goals, never mind all the other chances he created, the dribbles, the runs at oppositions defences, the nutmegs, the first time passes, the one-twos, the ability to make play tick and to make play move faster.

His speed of thought is something else, his ability to create and find room is delightful, and personally he's given me more moments of pure pleasure watching Forest than I can remember. He's not perfect, he's young, he will make mistakes and he will give the ball away. BUT, I'd rather he give the ball away 2 out of 5 times, if he's trying a forward pass, or an incisive pass, or something positive the other 3 out of 5 times. He's coming back to fitness this year after a pretty bad injury and has already created opportunities all over the place.

I really don't know what more you want from a 22 year old. He's a player that could be in the Forest team for a long time hopefully. Just ruddy get behind the players we have that are giving 100% every game, because its working at the moment. I don't want 11 Carvalhos, but I also wouldn't want 11 Watsons or Sows.

27 Aug 2019 09:33:45
Interesting to see SL Quoting he had the whole squad of 23 players in London for the week. This is exactly the right thing to do. I said a few week s back he should pick 22/ 23 and disregard the rest.

Apparently the deadwood 12 aren't allowed near the 23. Spot on Sl
It prevents the deadwood causing unrest in the squad and keeps team spirit amongst a tight knit group This guy really knows what he's doing, hope we stick with him and give him the time he deserves.

Red balloons

1.) 27 Aug 2019 11:03:50
I agree RB. Pretty ruthless approach but if you want to create team spirit on and off the pitch, it necessary.

2.) 27 Aug 2019 15:16:12
Who are the deadwood?

3.) 27 Aug 2019 16:25:38
The deadwood 12?

Pantilimon, Smith, Hefele, Ariyibi, Bridcutt, Clough, Cummings, Murphy.

That's eight, with possibly Yacob too? Milosevic? Hope not, the Swede has looked decent. Benalouane? Might be surplus like Milosevic, behind Worrall, Dawson, Figs and Chema.

4.) 27 Aug 2019 22:21:49
Beneloun injured and just been given a contract extension but Milosevic is definitely on his way and darikwa is injured, admire Lamouchi for sorting out his preferred squad so quickly and trusting in worrall and showing he is actually a very good centre back, wait till carvalho is let loose and then we will really be on fire, the kid will love playing alongside sow and semedo.

08 Aug 2019 09:27:49
Today's expected signings. Colback and Bostock. Perfect let's bolster up that thin Midfield 🤷
Might even add a central defender 🤦.

Red balloons

1.) 08 Aug 2019 11:58:29
Sorry no Colback.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 12:57:22
Colback wages too high.

3.) 08 Aug 2019 14:29:11
Need a keeper!

4.) 08 Aug 2019 16:23:19
Can’t our sponsors help out with the wage part? just like 32 red are paying half rooneys wages. how this is allowed is beyond me. that's like a 3rd party player.

5.) 08 Aug 2019 17:35:38
Signed Chema so guessing we are going to use Benyoune and Hefele as strikers now right as they won’t get look in at the back!

Reports saying Marinakas has contracted Corona virus.
My question is, how longs the contract and is he better than Carvalho 😂😂.

Red balloons

1.) 10 Mar 2020 13:42:15
You seem not to be happy with anything from the manager to to all the players, yet you find it funny our owner has said he has the virus that has killed many people. 😠

2.) 10 Mar 2020 14:12:18
He was at the millwall game so I doubt we will be allowed to play at any level for at least two weeks.
Balloons you are a disgrace mate.
Forest fan who finds it funny our owner has such a deadly virus and was at the game.
Get a grip man or go and watch the sheep.

3.) 10 Mar 2020 14:19:16
Just thought that there are different opinions on this virus. Did you know that over 14000 people die from measles every year and most have the opportunity to have the vaccine. Just how many die from the flu, a hell of a lot more, and many still refuse the vaccine. How many would choose not to have the vaccine against this new virus, very many l would think, so why the panic. What will happen to all the extra toilet rolls people have bought, take them to city ground and throw them on the pictch when we score. I assume the new vaccine will be available early summer . As for our owner catching it, could be a good ploy to postpone our games to get players match fit, he was at our Millwall home game.

4.) 10 Mar 2020 14:47:06
How many jokes, if you can call them jokes do see and hear about the measles and the flu 1951.

5.) 10 Mar 2020 14:49:54
According to the media Mr. M shook hands with every Forest player before the Millwall game, and with many fans outside before and afterwards.

Maybe it's a good job our U23 team are doing so well after all!

6.) 10 Mar 2020 15:13:28
Camb red not saying I agree with it but most jokes are based on the misfortune of others,

7.) 10 Mar 2020 15:25:29
C'mon, lads, it was a joke. And mildly funny too.

It's only flu for Jeff's sake. More people will commit suicide this year, or die in road traffic accidents. Stop buying into the panic. It's flu.

8.) 10 Mar 2020 15:26:28
To be honest I’m pretty surprised he didn’t wish carvalho had it rather than our owner. his hate for carvalho is threw the rope just because our owner splashed £13mill on him!

9.) 10 Mar 2020 15:26:50
I agree Stevie f. It's just a shame when some can't differentiate between humour and downright offense.

10.) 10 Mar 2020 15:27:12
Gotta say that i don't find it funny at all that our owner has this awful deadly virus and i for one wish him a speedy recovery. get well soon big guy.

11.) 10 Mar 2020 16:25:03
Sswe the hysteria over this coronavirus is ludicrous mate, I saw a woman carrying 4packs of 12 bog rolls out of a shop this morning, can’t get hand wash anywhere, it’s mostly whipped up by the Pratts at the bbc,

12.) 10 Mar 2020 16:37:05
Blimey the ballon really gone up this time ,a very serious issue with no humour I it to me but no matter how bad things are someone always makes a gag about it .

13.) 10 Mar 2020 16:37:24
That was way below the belt.
People have died with the virus yet people mock those who have it.
I know this is a banter site but what was said was in poor taste and shows lack of any empathy and compassion to those suffering.

14.) 10 Mar 2020 16:41:05
Just to say, all the people panic buying, is the joke. Be sensible about this it's far from being endemic, epidemic, pandemic which one would you like to choose. I am not joking about this but l am with people's mentality and approach to it.

15.) 10 Mar 2020 16:58:15
Fff79 you obviously didn’t like balloons joke., I get that mate, but what’s all this go and watch the sheep cobblers,? he’s forest why would he do that?

16.) 10 Mar 2020 16:58:44
Whatever anyone thinks about the virus to say it is only the flu is odd, i have never known entire towns in any country being closed to outsiders because of the flu, and i have never known sporting events taking place behind closed doors over the flu.

I do not go out of doors with any fear but with so little known about it and some of the precautions being taken, even a football owner feeling the need to make public he has it i doubt it is just the flu.

17.) 10 Mar 2020 17:05:21
That's all well and good carlo as long as they can still make gags when things are bad for themselves too.

18.) 10 Mar 2020 17:08:31
"We're doomed. We're all doomed I tell ye.

(Private Frazer)

Nothing so serious as the Second WW and yet they can make a hit comedy series about the whole business.

19.) 10 Mar 2020 17:27:48
Bsered dads army, mash, allo allo, ( making fun of the gestapo ) the list is endless, all making fun of the most serous thing of all, war, think this is more about the bloke who made the joke than the joke itself, and if some on here have never sick jokes before, they must have led very sheltered lives.

20.) 10 Mar 2020 17:29:53
Spanish flu in the 2nd World War, killed more than was lost in battle. Viruses mutate, the human race develops immunity and we move on. People with underlying health issues are mostly at risk and should take precautions. The mass hysteria we are witnessing will solve nothing. Alcoholic hand gel kills bacteria not viruses, too many persons in the world.

21.) 10 Mar 2020 17:31:08
Oh and of course no one on here made a joke of a car crash involving the 3derby lads and drink driving, in which a bloke was injured,

22.) 10 Mar 2020 17:36:05
Trouble is they don't like it up um. I am in the venerable age bracket, and look at it rationally . I am not panic buying and not getting histerical over this. Stop buying into this, think! .

23.) 10 Mar 2020 17:48:57
Cambridgeshire Red - It's not the flu that has got towns in shutdown and sporting events on hold. The mass hysteria is doing that. People overreacting to sodding flu.

Give it 6 months and we'll see the figures and realise more people died crossing the road. Shambles.

24.) 10 Mar 2020 17:59:15
I’m not convinced a football banter site can ever be the platform to debate compassion, empathy, equality, respect inclusion etc . It’s almost counter intuitive . I’m sure RB didn’t mean to offend anyone, jokes get made about the news of the day, it’s just what folk do.

25.) 10 Mar 2020 18:12:25
I didn't 2 star. Its just a British thing. We've always laughed in times if crisis.

26.) 10 Mar 2020 18:12:50
Ok food for thought.
If any of you had the virus or you know someone who is old and in ill health with it how would you portray the post?
This isn't the place to debate, lecture or rudicule those who are suffering with the virus.
Yes a joke is joke but sometimes jokes are taken just that little too far.

27.) 10 Mar 2020 18:22:32
Fawazmark2 then we can’t talk about anything, because someone will always know someone who has suffered from the topic being discussed,

28.) 10 Mar 2020 18:27:02
I agree FM2. I'll stick to self deprecating. 😁.

29.) 10 Mar 2020 18:42:29
I’ve got a great idea, how about we end the thread here then now you’ve made you’re point so solidly? Anyway I’ve no time for this, I’m off to buy some loo roll.

30.) 10 Mar 2020 18:42:46
Red balloons I wouldn’t take any notice mate, it’s mostly sanctimonious bs, they laughed their arses off at keogh, Lawrence, and Bennet in a drunken car crash, that could have killed some innocent person, or one of them.

31.) 10 Mar 2020 18:56:01
Spot on mate 👍.

32.) 10 Mar 2020 22:49:34
I don't mind 2star if people want to debate those things on a football site; football is about much more than 22 blokes kicking a ball on a field and trying to get it between 2 sticks.
"“Some people think football [soccer] is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. ”
― Bill Shankly.

33.) 11 Mar 2020 06:13:53
Bsered shankly’s quote is the most idiotic quote in the history of sport, football is a game that’s all it is, it’s importance in the real world is zero,

34.) 11 Mar 2020 07:21:04
Hey ed didn’t know the word 'idiotic' was now considered swearing 😊.

{Ed033's Note - Well, this 'political correctness' is out of control.

07 Mar 2020 16:21:06
Just like to say the level of debate and appraisal of the team and managers performance this season has been extremely enjoyable today from some very honest and knowledgeable fans.
No happy clapping and fear of backlash from the certain people on hear who refuse to say it how it is. That's what makes this the best site out there, a joy to take part. Thanks guys, keep it coming that's what we buy our season cards for. To have a view as well as being entertained.

Red balloons

1.) 07 Mar 2020 18:02:46
Good shout red 👍.

2.) 07 Mar 2020 18:59:36
Well said best banter site by far. I have checked other team banter pages and well not much chats, debates and slating ( banter of course ) . The Ed's on there must be bored senseless, so yes big thumbs up to all who make this site checked by everyone all day, everyday the best bar none.

3.) 08 Mar 2020 01:24:49
Happy clapping 😂 love it. Don’t get me wrong home games this season have been a difficult watch but believe it or not the overall success of the the team means more to some people than value for money and entertainment on a season card. We are 5th in the table, it’s a fact. And I don’t care about the standard of the league. Are all the supporters who were still getting behind the team and manager when 3 nil down happy clappers? Interested to know.

4.) 08 Mar 2020 11:00:31
Perks10 I was one of a very few thousand that stayed to the end v Sheffield wed and millwall, that’s not the definition of a happy clapper, to me a happy clapper sees nothing wrong at the club, and kicks off at anyone one else who dares to air any sort of criticism, accusing them of not being real fans, negative or ‘ fickle. Stifling any kind of debate with insults.

Got to be banging on the door.

Yep your right FO79. Was really looking forward to the shot on target today. But hey ho I will remember the good old days with the rest of you when the first team I saw was the same as yours 2-1win against WBA.
Going for a haircut at Hennesseys wifes hairdressers on Tamworth Rd Long Eaton cause he was always there for a chat.
One of my best memories tho was when Duncan Mckenzie destroyed Man City in the fa cup 4-1at home. What a day, what a match, what a performance, what entertainment and you wonder why I moan about today's crap.
By the way FO79 you ought to read some of your old posts. Moan moan moan pal.
I fact you moan that much I bet they make you wait outside the pub till happy hour has finished.
