Mancini being touted?

Nottingham Forest have initiated talks with Viktor Gyokeres. Representatives are in Portugal to discuss a move to the City Ground. Sporting value him at €75m. A perfect move for both parties, our style will suit the Swedish striker and he will score goals for fun. Thoughts Gentlemen?

1.) 20 Mar 2025 13:14:23
I saw Gyokeres a few times when he played for Coventry Perko. Undoubtedly talented but he was a bit lazy and tended to fade in and out of games. Of course, that's a few years ago now when we were in the Championship so he might have added better workload into his strengths since then. Good finisher though and might be worth a shout. Not at £75 million though …….

2.) 20 Mar 2025 17:58:33
Appreciate your view Stokey, can’t say i know much about him myself but he seems to bag loads for Sporting.

3.) 21 Mar 2025 13:08:48
I think that Gyokeres has been a late developer in some respects. He didn't get a sniff of first team football at Brighton (he was young though) but did well at Coventry and has been brilliant at Sporting. Like Stokey said, he did seem a bit lethargic at Coventry at times but his recent goal scoring over the past 4 seasons or so has been very impressive. A massive gamble at £75 million though.

4.) 23 Mar 2025 15:02:04
Definitely a gamble at that price SirBrian. It will be interesting to see who we get in though as it looks as though we will be looking at a new forward for next season.

5.) 24 Mar 2025 19:28:15
Problem with judging players scoring for fun in a league that only has four decent teams, is he faces poor opposition most weeks
Personally 40 mill, i'd rather us sign Cuba if the reported 65 million is correct.

6.) 27 Mar 2025 20:15:03
Is that the whole of Cuba Ff or part of it. It's a very big island.

7.) 27 Mar 2025 22:50:45
Well spotted gazzii
Chuhna, these phones are far to clever ?.

8.) 04 Apr 2025 16:37:06
Signings for 25/ 26

New left back - Tyrick Mitchell from Palace (young and British) or Kyle Walker-peters
Toffolo and Moreno out due to contract and loans ending
Boly end of contract
Omibamedele back in the fold also (homegrown player)

Angel Gomes on a free from Lille - another CDM but another English player for Europe

Another winger

Jonathan David (free transfer)

Now we're talking, Forest linked with Matheus Cunha from Wolves! Brilliant player! Get him in!

Perko

1.) 22 Jan 2025 07:50:20
I just don't see this happening. Ambition we have by the boat load but with money we have to stay under the rules that have bitten our rear end before.
We won't spend 80 million and even if they lower the asking price by a few mill it's dangerous for us to flirt with.
We're still a club that has to play with 20-25 million as top price. The players we hope to sell off this January, wouldn't bring in that type of money and to be fair, how many clubs are lining up for our cast offs?
Nice fantasy but I fear it's just that.

2.) 22 Jan 2025 13:48:01
He is a top player, improves our starting eleven, can play any attacking position. If the big boss thinks we can go for it, why not. When he first bought Forest, he questioned the fans ambition. Let's all enjoy the Evangelos ride.

3.) 23 Jan 2025 09:55:57
It would be a great coup but the last hing we need is to risk any ffp backlash given our current position. We need to add in a way that gives us some depth for the rest of the season. What about the Feyenoord striker?

4.) 23 Jan 2025 16:02:29
Yep, I’d take Giminez SYD, scored a brace against Bayern last night and is a consistent goal scorer. Wouldn’t upset the dressing room too much either and at a reasonable price for his goal scoring talents. I know he turned us down 3 times in the summer but i wouldn’t hold a grudge against him for that, to be fair we were premier league strugglers at that time but now we are flying and a more appealing option. Time will tell as to who we bring in this transfer window but i do think we need another striker in as if Wood picks up an injury then we are knackered as Awoniyi isn’t the answer. He’s well off the boil and showing us the clumsy oaf that i always thought he was/ is. I wouldn’t be paying more than we’ve offered for Wissa either as he’s 28. Cunha is definitely a talent so we will have to wait and see what happens. Either way i reckon we will need to get a bit of quality over the line before the window slams shut.

5.) 24 Jan 2025 09:18:41
Saw an interesting read today suggesting that Taiwo could be used as bait for Wolves to part with Cunha. We offer Taiwo plus some cash for Cunha.

6.) 24 Jan 2025 10:50:53
Get it done ☑️.

7.) 24 Jan 2025 18:03:06
Giminez agreed terms with Milan. Now club have to agree with Feyenoord which is likely to be a bit more difficult. I just hope we don't end up without Cunha or Wissa and end up like the summer when we were left short as moves for Giminez and Marmoush failed.

8.) 25 Jan 2025 10:44:55
Perko, spot on. Taiwo isn't the same player he was 2 years ago. Always grateful for serving a purpose but we need a point of difference up front. Preferably one with pace and finishing. West ham pulled off a bloody coup with thier latest signing.

9.) 25 Jan 2025 14:34:45
No panic buying please, if a striker that makes us stronger isn't available, don't buy. Wait until the summer.

Another rumour for you lads.
I've heard that we are about to sign Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool. Heard this before they recalled him early from his loan yesterday. We shall see. Also Kaylor Navas might be back between the sticks if true.

Perko

1.) 02 Jan 2024 12:40:38
We've had enough Carvalho to last us a life time Perko ??.

24 Mar 2023 08:39:25
Reports from Spain have suggested that Forest have approached Marcelino, the former Sevilla, Villarreal and Valencia manager to take over from Cooper immediately. He was also linked as the Spanish national team manager before the World Cup. However, the report adds that he has turned down the offer from Forest as he would prefer to work on a project from the beginning of a new season. Looks like Maranakis is getting an itchy trigger finger.

Woods to play half an hour for the B team this evening at Loughborough's university ground as part of his ease back into action to return for the last 5 or 6 games. Might pop over and have a look at this as the stadium is only about a 5 minute walk from my house.

Perko

1.) 20 Mar 2026 16:05:12
That is great news, can wait to see him back for us. ?

2.) 20 Mar 2026 20:37:17
Apparently he's netted one already.

1.) 15 Mar 2026 19:22:24
You'll need to lock the razor blades away then Perko. I gave up there today, it's all doom, gloom and slagging the club off. Depressing, actually. Just the same cr ?p being said week in, week out. ?

2.) 15 Mar 2026 19:44:50
Cheers Ed

13 Mar 2026 19:31:09
Bakwa is awful, a terrible signing. He even got tackled by the ref!

Perko

1.) 13 Mar 2026 19:43:05
Send him BACKwa ?? Edu out Pereira out COYR.

2.) 14 Mar 2026 06:19:54
I said I'd wait to give my option on Pereira after getting hammered for calling out Dyche & Ange as useless. Well, I've waited, & he's useless as well. Just get rid. What a disaster of a season, & it's all down to one man, Big M.

3.) 14 Mar 2026 07:57:55
I agree with Larry. Big M needs to stick to what he knows, shipping, and get somebody in who knows how to run the football side of things.

4.) 14 Mar 2026 08:07:38
Big M did well with Olympiacos - though, I must admit, he's tried the continental style of ownership here, which perhaps doesn't work too well. I think the manager needs to choose players, not a director of football. The manager knows the deficiencies of the team.
Huge game tomorrow. If it continues to be Nottingham Forest nil, we are doomed.

5.) 14 Mar 2026 08:23:19
I said a while ago that Mr M had set a chain reaction after the fallout with Nuno, and one bad decision after another has happened. He needs to get control of the club again. He should have stayed with Dyche till June, and I think we would have survived. Not sure now. VP seems a nice bloke, but he's struggling to use the players to their best abilities, and can't produce a goal from our strikers, with only a handful of matches left.

He's under a lot of pressure. I would play Hutchison and MGW as twin strikers with a back 3 and Sangare with Anderson, and bring the others on later in the game.

6.) 14 Mar 2026 09:17:56
Jester, I didn't like Dyche, and we will never know whether he would have kept us up or not. It's the same argument some are having with players we have loaned out; would they have made a difference? We will never know. But, apart from getting rid of Nuno and bringing in Edu, the biggest mistake, and I think the stupidest mistake Mr M has ever made, was listening to 5 players, which 3 or 4 of them will not be with us come summer, stay up or not, was to ask their advice whether a manager should be sacked or not.

Daft. End of.

7.) 14 Mar 2026 10:48:51
Yes, Agent Larry, 5 games is plenty of time to assess isn't it mate? ???
I have a very uneasy feeling that Mr Silva will provide an object lesson to us tomorrow on what a manager can achieve in 5 years, given time and a well run, stable club to operate in .I hope I'm wrong but you certainly are .

8.) 14 Mar 2026 12:30:13
I've never been wrong yet, Stokie. My record is impeccable. ?

9.) 14 Mar 2026 17:13:03
Larry. ???? ?

2.) 19 Feb 2026 19:16:43
This has been one of the performances I've seen in years. Absolute dominance, superb defence, kept possession and attacked with intent. We've made them look like us under Dyche. ?

3.) 19 Feb 2026 19:17:24
Not everyone goes 3 nil up in Istanbul! (Sorry Ed, couldn't resist!). ???

{Ed001's Note - just don't do a Milan!}
