Nottingham Forest have initiated talks with Viktor Gyokeres. Representatives are in Portugal to discuss a move to the City Ground. Sporting value him at €75m. A perfect move for both parties, our style will suit the Swedish striker and he will score goals for fun. Thoughts Gentlemen?

Perko

1.) 20 Mar 2025 13:14:23
I saw Gyokeres a few times when he played for Coventry Perko. Undoubtedly talented but he was a bit lazy and tended to fade in and out of games. Of course, that's a few years ago now when we were in the Championship so he might have added better workload into his strengths since then. Good finisher though and might be worth a shout. Not at £75 million though …….

2.) 20 Mar 2025 17:58:33
Appreciate your view Stokey, can’t say i know much about him myself but he seems to bag loads for Sporting.

3.) 21 Mar 2025 13:08:48
I think that Gyokeres has been a late developer in some respects. He didn't get a sniff of first team football at Brighton (he was young though) but did well at Coventry and has been brilliant at Sporting. Like Stokey said, he did seem a bit lethargic at Coventry at times but his recent goal scoring over the past 4 seasons or so has been very impressive. A massive gamble at £75 million though.

4.) 23 Mar 2025 15:02:04
Definitely a gamble at that price SirBrian. It will be interesting to see who we get in though as it looks as though we will be looking at a new forward for next season.

5.) 24 Mar 2025 19:28:15
Problem with judging players scoring for fun in a league that only has four decent teams, is he faces poor opposition most weeks
Personally 40 mill, i'd rather us sign Cuba if the reported 65 million is correct.

6.) 27 Mar 2025 20:15:03
Is that the whole of Cuba Ff or part of it. It's a very big island.

7.) 27 Mar 2025 22:50:45
Well spotted gazzii
Chuhna, these phones are far to clever ?.

8.) 04 Apr 2025 16:37:06
Signings for 25/ 26

New left back - Tyrick Mitchell from Palace (young and British) or Kyle Walker-peters
Toffolo and Moreno out due to contract and loans ending
Boly end of contract
Omibamedele back in the fold also (homegrown player)

Angel Gomes on a free from Lille - another CDM but another English player for Europe

Another winger

Jonathan David (free transfer)

Now we're talking, Forest linked with Matheus Cunha from Wolves! Brilliant player! Get him in!

Perko

1.) 22 Jan 2025 07:50:20
I just don't see this happening. Ambition we have by the boat load but with money we have to stay under the rules that have bitten our rear end before.
We won't spend 80 million and even if they lower the asking price by a few mill it's dangerous for us to flirt with.
We're still a club that has to play with 20-25 million as top price. The players we hope to sell off this January, wouldn't bring in that type of money and to be fair, how many clubs are lining up for our cast offs?
Nice fantasy but I fear it's just that.

2.) 22 Jan 2025 13:48:01
He is a top player, improves our starting eleven, can play any attacking position. If the big boss thinks we can go for it, why not. When he first bought Forest, he questioned the fans ambition. Let's all enjoy the Evangelos ride.

3.) 23 Jan 2025 09:55:57
It would be a great coup but the last hing we need is to risk any ffp backlash given our current position. We need to add in a way that gives us some depth for the rest of the season. What about the Feyenoord striker?

4.) 23 Jan 2025 16:02:29
Yep, I’d take Giminez SYD, scored a brace against Bayern last night and is a consistent goal scorer. Wouldn’t upset the dressing room too much either and at a reasonable price for his goal scoring talents. I know he turned us down 3 times in the summer but i wouldn’t hold a grudge against him for that, to be fair we were premier league strugglers at that time but now we are flying and a more appealing option. Time will tell as to who we bring in this transfer window but i do think we need another striker in as if Wood picks up an injury then we are knackered as Awoniyi isn’t the answer. He’s well off the boil and showing us the clumsy oaf that i always thought he was/ is. I wouldn’t be paying more than we’ve offered for Wissa either as he’s 28. Cunha is definitely a talent so we will have to wait and see what happens. Either way i reckon we will need to get a bit of quality over the line before the window slams shut.

5.) 24 Jan 2025 09:18:41
Saw an interesting read today suggesting that Taiwo could be used as bait for Wolves to part with Cunha. We offer Taiwo plus some cash for Cunha.

6.) 24 Jan 2025 10:50:53
Get it done ☑️.

7.) 24 Jan 2025 18:03:06
Giminez agreed terms with Milan. Now club have to agree with Feyenoord which is likely to be a bit more difficult. I just hope we don't end up without Cunha or Wissa and end up like the summer when we were left short as moves for Giminez and Marmoush failed.

8.) 25 Jan 2025 10:44:55
Perko, spot on. Taiwo isn't the same player he was 2 years ago. Always grateful for serving a purpose but we need a point of difference up front. Preferably one with pace and finishing. West ham pulled off a bloody coup with thier latest signing.

9.) 25 Jan 2025 14:34:45
No panic buying please, if a striker that makes us stronger isn't available, don't buy. Wait until the summer.

Another rumour for you lads.
I've heard that we are about to sign Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool. Heard this before they recalled him early from his loan yesterday. We shall see. Also Kaylor Navas might be back between the sticks if true.

Perko

1.) 02 Jan 2024 12:40:38
We've had enough Carvalho to last us a life time Perko ??.

24 Mar 2023 08:39:25
Reports from Spain have suggested that Forest have approached Marcelino, the former Sevilla, Villarreal and Valencia manager to take over from Cooper immediately. He was also linked as the Spanish national team manager before the World Cup. However, the report adds that he has turned down the offer from Forest as he would prefer to work on a project from the beginning of a new season. Looks like Maranakis is getting an itchy trigger finger.

Looks like Woody is out injured! Hobbled off for the Kiwis. Hope Awoniyi has found his shooting boots or do you stick Elanga up top?

Perko

1.) 24 Mar 2025 19:16:44
Elanga has been upfront before under SC and it did not work.

22 Feb 2025 20:09:13
It's the perfect weekend so far, the bin dippers and the sheep lost leaving them both adrift in the relegation places. As did Chelsea, Bournemouth and Arsenal. We could do with the scousers doing us a favour and our lads to bank 3 points now. Come on Forest.

Perko

1.) 22 Feb 2025 20:56:12
It certainly takes the pressure off perko
Derby get four local derbies next year, in league one and the dippers will make it five in another year
Who at the dippers thought vardy would score the goals to keep them up?
Wasn't good enough three years ago as an impact sub
They have got away with everything breaking rules abd now time has finally caught up with them as a team and club and totally deserved.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 22:59:03
Dead right 79! Been cheaters and getting away with it for far too long. How they didn’t get a points deduction this season baffles me but hopefully it won’t be needed for them to still go down. Vardy’s attitude stinks and he is a major disrupter in Festers changing room.

They’ve come up with championship players, spent nowt and have been found out. Like you say, Vardy was finished 3 years ago but they’ve bought no one in to replace him. Hope the EFL can still take points off them next season when they get relegated. Karma catches up with you and you reap what you sow.

22 Feb 2025 17:24:23
Meanwhile in Derby and Leicester

Perko

1.) 22 Feb 2025 18:06:26
Excellent results for forest with the chasing pack losing, especially Bournemouth.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 19:36:25
And now villa
The perfect storm.

Here's one for Legolas, my wife works at a children's hospice as a hca, she's just got in from work and told me that today she has been looking after a wheelchair football player who plays for the Forest wheelchair football team. She had to get him ready before his p. a picked him up for a match. Just thought I'd share that with you mate.

Perko

1.) 20 Feb 2025 22:17:48
Thanks for this Perko - it's a small world mate. Mrs Legolas and I went on a Virgin Cruise a few months ago where I danced for the first time with her since my operation on my metal legs. It was a great moment.

After the dance a couple approached us. She introduced herself as a prosthetic specialist in Nottingham. He then introduced himself as a player/ coach in the Forest walking football club. I pitched myself as a potential player, but he didn't want to know!

2.) 20 Feb 2025 23:10:27
Good to hear you were up boogieing mate! Lego Travolta ?. That’s a shame about the footy, you could’ve been the next big thing in the Garibaldi. ⚽️
And no worries, glad you appreciated the info.

3.) 20 Feb 2025 23:26:00
If you can imagine The Terminator dancing to an ABBA song - that was me Perko! It felt great though.

4.) 20 Feb 2025 23:45:46
Brilliant Legolas ?.

5.) 21 Feb 2025 05:56:55
These stories are incredible!
We really do have a great bunch of lads on here don't we!?

6.) 21 Feb 2025 10:10:21
We do have a great bunch of lads on here Rogie. All from different lives, different backgrounds, different counties and different countries. We have different views and different personalities but the one common denominator is Nottingham Forest. COYR. ?⚪️⚽️.

7.) 21 Feb 2025 17:26:21
Perko - I must admit that I was a bit disappointed not to be offered the chance to train with the Nottingham Forest Walking Football Club. I'd had a few beers before I spoke with their coach/ player and even joked that I wouldn't need shin pads to play.

He was unmoved by my wit I'm afraid.

8.) 21 Feb 2025 19:23:03
I bet you were Lego, you’d have thought that the shin pad quip would have swayed him! Miserable git!
Keep the wit coming though and the great posts.

20 Feb 2025 16:27:34
Just a quick one for my mate Bowie, have you heard anything from Jolly? He's not been on here for ages.

Perko

1.) 20 Feb 2025 17:53:12
Jolly is doing well and loved up perko my friend. Doesn't really do many games. Moved to Richmond. To be with her. Hope to see him in the near future now my legs have been sorted. Punk legend that lad on here. Luv the laddie ??.

2.) 20 Feb 2025 21:00:39
That’s great news Bowie! Pleased for him. I know he had his demons and went through some down times so I’m glad to hear that he’s doing okay. Please tell him that i was asking after him the next time you have a chin wag. And I’m glad that your legs are better brother! They gave you some grief didn’t they.

3.) 20 Feb 2025 21:56:26
Just couldn't walk far perko matey. All self inflicted so not feeling sorry. Will definitely pass on your kind words to the punk. Big miss on here he is. Never hung back ?? had to sweet talk the eds many times. But always worth it. to get him back on. But it is what it is. Always going to have confrontation on here, politically or the obvious football. FTID.

4.) 20 Feb 2025 23:05:25
Nice one Bowie. ??.

Said exactly the same a few months ago Chim. I said then that the chasing pack would catch us up with the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Newcastle taking the Champions League places. Especially after we didn’t bring in a striker in January. The fore mentioned teams are just too strong in squad depth and have like for like quality to bring in or off the bench when they have injuries. Unfortunately, we are not at that stage at the moment. The proof is in the pudding, take out a few of our key players and jenga tower starts to wobble. However, we are not out of it yet though my friends, as Balloons rightly says, it’s in our hands still. We have an okay run in which should go in our favour. Get the bits of the jigsaw back in place and let’s see what we’ve got. Starting at Spurs on Monday. Come On Yoooou Redz. ?⚪️⚽️.

Up to date now Winter, terrible incident and the impact on environment and marine life will be awful especially when it starts washing up on our coastline. But i ask this question, why on earth is a Portuguese tanker carrying toxic waste even in our waters in the first place?
