Some bloke called Jashari from Club Bruges has apparently turned us down because he wants to go to Milan.
Pity because if his first name is anything to go by, he would definitely be up to the job.

Gazzibaldi

We seem to have a penchant for bidding for players who don't want to come. Have to hope at some stage we find somebody who does want to grace the CG.

2.) 13 Jul 2025 14:34:41
He could have stiff competition getting a game, the last thing we need is a flop, he looks confident, you could say cock sure of himself?.

23 Jun 2024 19:56:31
Probably just lazy journalism but we're supposedly after Gnonto from Leeds.
Whenever I've seen him play I've thought he's a right pain in the arsenal so it's a yes from me if it's true.

Gazzibaldi

1.) 24 Jun 2024 15:23:33
He’d be a good challenge to the already excellent wingers we have in CHO and Elanga. He looks fast and tricky when I’ve seen him for Leeds and Italy.
It’s a yes also from me provided it doesn’t cost us points under FFP.

2.) 24 Jun 2024 19:24:13
Not heard a dickie bird about the interest in CHO from Spurs and others, thought he would be gone after all the speculation.

02 Aug 2019 13:40:16
Cheer up guys. Just heard we have rectified our right back problem.
Alan Hutton. Four year contract. Same agent as Murphy apparantly.

🌻🌻🌻.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 19:37:14
You're all wrong Alan Partridge has signed a 3 year deal £100000 a week. 👍.

6.) 02 Aug 2019 19:38:04
Des Lyttle and Gary Charles have been told to report for training! 😁.

7.) 02 Aug 2019 19:49:00
Or Betty Hutton.

8.) 02 Aug 2019 21:08:27
Who is she?

9.) 02 Aug 2019 21:50:51

10.) 02 Aug 2019 22:03:12
Shes the cats mother, Betty Hutton?
Cant believe you don't know who Betty Hutton is? 🤣.

11.) 03 Aug 2019 08:35:56

Did anyone else see Milosevic feel his hamstring late on in the game. Hope it was only cramp.
Excellent defender. Brilliant positional awareness.

I only read we'd offered 500k. Accepted?

2.) 29 Jan 2019 11:56:07
Might be out of contract in the summer

3.) 29 Jan 2019 12:48:49
Regular England youth international only 24 can play left back and centre back. Looks like we are covering Robinson. A pinch if only £500,000.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 13:45:29
Ex man u dross no thanks, look what happened when we had that Stewart from manutd admittedly many years ago but all he kept going on about was how they did things at old Trafford- I'm sure dj had a big fall out with him !

5.) 29 Jan 2019 14:16:05
This is just bizarre !

6.) 29 Jan 2019 16:20:26

For the last few Europa matches I've always thought points on the following Sunday are much more important than European progression. Now I've completely changed my mind, I'm crossing everything I have for a draw at least tomorrow. I don't care about Sunday. We are just a draw and a win away from Champions League football.

I'd never have thought it possible again in my lifetime.I've been to two European finals, a third would be unbelievable. Not many football fans outside the mega rich can say that.

Gazzibaldi

1.) 06 May 2026 23:42:58
It should have been more, mate. Cheated in 84, and I'm certain our team, during the ban years, would have made it as well.

2.) 07 May 2026 08:29:22
Uredddssss, recliner check. Stella in fridge check. Takeaway on order check. Forest win. ? Uredddssss.

3.) 07 May 2026 08:40:22
What a healthy life you lead, Skegs.

4.) 07 May 2026 09:30:22
Roast lamb and 1664 for me, Skegs. Armchair instead of recliner. Had to book the entire day off because I knew I'd be a nightmare today, and those ants in me pants are already at it.

5.) 07 May 2026 09:41:21
I'll be having water, lettuce and cucumber sandwiches.
???

6.) 07 May 2026 09:46:30
??? Rogie, 10 Guinness and a doner kebab.

7.) 07 May 2026 11:03:43
Gazzi, that win over Chelsea gives Vitor Pereira more leverage vis a vis the Europa (and the preceding wins over Sunderland and Burnley). As I said, West Ham need to beat Arsenal at home and Newcastle away to even get level with us, and we are 17 goals better off.

An Arsenal win, or even a draw for us against Newcastle, finishes them off and secures safety for us, effectively.
Will it be a bridge too far tonight, with our injuries? A draw will do, but I can guarantee a cracking game tonight.

8.) 07 May 2026 12:16:27
Sports bar with massive screens and with family friends and some real ale.
Looking forward to it.
And whatever happens, well done to Vitor and his coaches for getting the best out the squad.

9.) 07 May 2026 13:18:44
However you intend to digest the game tonight, just enjoy, gents. Games like these only come around once or twice in a generation. In my case it's my first. COYR. ⭐?⭐

03 May 2026 09:25:57
I don't understand all this "we are safe" talk. It might turn out that way but I'm sure today Villa will play a second string today. They are going to qualify for the Champions League in 5th anyway so they're going to save everyone for us on Thursday.

Depending on the Spurs result today, we might not be able to rest many. Plus our squad is paper thin with injuries at the moment so in my opinion, we are not safe yet. Almost but not quite.

Gazzibaldi

1.) 03 May 2026 12:12:50
Agreed, mate.

2.) 03 May 2026 12:38:46
Sensible post, Gazzi.

3.) 03 May 2026 12:58:19
Spot on Gazz, all that talk is coming from one particular poster, who is never wrong though. ?

4.) 03 May 2026 13:07:26
We won't be safe for a couple of games yet. This will go down to the wire.

5.) 03 May 2026 13:16:40
Someone was on the old UB40 last night. But I'm guessing most posters just switch off now to comments from that poster after 7 at night. ?

6.) 03 May 2026 15:46:29
Looks like dtp as put the curse on ed 1 Liverpool ??

7.) 03 May 2026 16:14:27
Reasons to be worried, Skegs.
DTP's predictions are amongst the worst I've ever known, and he's tipped us to stay up.
Wolves will break the Sheep's record.
Bayern will beat PSG.
Liverpool will beat UTD easily, to name a few.

8.) 03 May 2026 16:28:23
You forgot Nuno going after 5 games, and Sels is a crap keeper. ? ?

30 Apr 2026 09:08:16
Hey Rogie.
You posted yesterday about a YouTube thing where Forest European cup players meet their older selves.
I found it and it's a really nice tribute. Well worth a watch.
Nobody seemed to pick up on it again so I thought I'd mention it.

Gazzibaldi

1.) 30 Apr 2026 14:03:05
Cheers, mate...
It really is quite moving, isn't it?
Very well done.

21 Apr 2026 12:14:16
Ed. Could we have a poll asking how many points do you think we need to stay up please?

Gazzibaldi

{Ed033's Note -

Points poll

1.) 21 Apr 2026 14:42:18
It's a great question, Gazzi. I've voted 40 points on the grounds that both West Ham and Spurs won't win 3 out of their last 5 games, mate.
I'm reminded of the lovely story of when the President of France and the First Lady went to Number 10. David Cameron, behind the closed door, was awaiting their arrival with his aides and ministers.

Nervously, he asked how many times, according to etiquette, he should kiss the gorgeous First Lady, Carla Bruni.
They all doubled up laughing when his assistant said "As it's Carla Bruni, as many times as you can get away with, Prime Minister.". ???
Likewise our points tally.

2.) 21 Apr 2026 15:03:46
Two whole points. ✌️?

3.) 21 Apr 2026 15:15:33
I've voted 6 x points. Unless we get the brucie bonus of the cheating arab mancs. Who should be shifted to the isle of skye league. ?

4.) 21 Apr 2026 17:09:49
We beat Sunderland and Newcastle. Job done.

Spurs would then need to win 4 of their last 5 games and they haven't won one all year.

We don't want to go into our last match against Spawnmouth needing anything.

5.) 21 Apr 2026 17:17:15
Erm got to beat the north east munmad? Your sounding like dtp? You really think these are 6 x points

6.) 21 Apr 2026 17:33:20
If we can't get a win and a draw from the last 5 matches, we don't deserve to stay up imo!
Average point a game, and we are on 41?

7.) 21 Apr 2026 17:46:39
Stokey, we don't really deserve to stay up, my friend. We've been also-rans all season because of, well, the points I've said never gonna pull Big M down. But what a t*** this season. The rest, obviously, new signings are pathetic. And just no passion (cut it short, coz we all know). Still, think the whole lot needs an overhaul.

8.) 21 Apr 2026 18:05:18
Bowie, that's crap mate. Semi-finals of Europa Cup, long-term injury to our 20-goal striker, and we don't deserve to stay up, absolute rubbish.

9.) 21 Apr 2026 18:29:31
Munmad, again, I swear I don't mean to be negative, my friend. But you tell me, how much football you've enjoyed, skill etc this season? It's just been such a roller coaster of more downs than ups. I swear, I admire your following home/ away. (I could always lie if ya want me to).

14 Apr 2026 16:11:55
RIP Henry Newton. He played in the first match I ever saw live in 1968. Grummitt, Hindley, Winfield, Hennessey, Mckinley, Newton, Lyons (2 goals), Barnwell, Hindley (1 goal), Baxter, Storey-Moore. Joe Baker and Frank Wignall were injured. The names just roll off the tongue. I could only just see over the wall in front of the old main stand.

I remember being allowed to pass in front of the taller people. As a young teenager I played for Dunkirk cricket club, many years later I was looking through some archive photos and found out that a young Henry Newton also played for them in the early 60s. Small world, eh.

Gazzibaldi

1.) 14 Apr 2026 18:46:36
Gazzi, my abiding memory of Henry Newton was a much less happy one, mate. I was near the wall at the corner of the old Main Stand and the Bridgford End as a kid when he went into a tackle and my Dad and I winced as we clearly heard his leg break. Lower leg, I believe.
You can always tell if a player is seriously injured because they don't roll about and look as though they've been shot. Henry just raised his hand, lay still and didn't appear to wince even as they were splinting him up and moving him onto a canvas stretcher.

None of these golf buggies and paramedics with gas, etc.
Hard, tough bloke and was back after several months. Different era.
Had he played for a more "fashionable" club he'd have got many full England caps. Workrate, rugged, aggressive without being sly and play acting, good distribution, kept it simple but effective. Easily as good as Nobby Stiles and Alan Ball.

2.) 14 Apr 2026 22:40:14
Me to Gazzi,
Team was.
Grummit
Hindley
Winfield
Hennessey
McKinley
Newton
Lyons
Barnwell
Baker
Wignall
Moore.

3.) 15 Apr 2026 08:32:49
Different era, different game, but that's still a top 6 team all day long.

4.) 16 Apr 2026 14:10:18
It was top 2, Gazzi, as we finished runners up behind Man Utd (who we thrashed at the WFCG 4 nil with a couple of ours out injured). I was there for that one, standing with my Dad on the Bridgford End Kop. They had Best, Charlton, Nobby, Law, etc., and couldn't lay a glove on us. I must check this, but I've a feeling one of our replacements, Mike Kear, scored a hat-trick?
We were unlucky to lose to Spurs in the FA Cup semi final too, after Joe Baker was nobbled by Brian Labone in the 6th round v Everton.

I was in the Trent End with my Dad for that one too.
A great team, and it should have been built on.

5.) 16 Apr 2026 14:13:34
Just checked my fading memory... It was Chris Crowe with the hat-trick and 4-1 (Big Frank Wignall for us and Bobby Charlton for them).

Keefe, not really seen much of the Italian duo but I would definitely do the deal because Ndoy and Zinchenko have failed miserably.
They can't be any worse. then again.

If Anderson does leave, I don't think it will be for Newcastle.
I think his ambitions are much higher that them.
Liverpool, Man City or Real Madrid is his destination imo.

{Ed001's Note - I hope you are right with your first suggestion! Fantastic player who would improve pretty much any team in the world.}

Ff mate, I know it's supposed to be entertainment, and in a masochistic way I have enjoyed this season, but I would not say I've been entertained that much (recent run and a couple of others excepted).
The City Ground is not around the corner for me, it's a full day out, and I don't even get to have a pub stop off, so another Championship season might mean I'd have to reconsider, and that's not really what I want to do.

So yes, I am bricking it because I drive, park, walk and watch the match, and that's it.
And that takes 10 hours.
