Worrying reports tonight that the Premier League are looking at us over financial fair play. Shame given some of the dross we have paid out for -I know we sold Johnson but it could be a serious matter for us.
1.) 03 Jan 2024 06:51:49
They may stop us getting anymore players, which is not such a bad thing?.
2.) 03 Jan 2024 07:54:37
The Premier League will take Chelsea's and City's points deduction and give it to us and the Toffee's.
3.) 03 Jan 2024 09:29:07
Could effect a potential Navas loan?
4.) 03 Jan 2024 11:54:34
The PL is looking at everyone, it's the annual check of club accounts and we (and every other club) will find out if we've been good boys or not on 14th January. It's only the press that are targetting Forest as 'most likely', no the PL.
5.) 03 Jan 2024 14:08:01
I think we'll probably be OK:-
A few points.
We spent around 85m on wages last season; this excludes any income we received from players going out on loan.
Our liability on amortised transfer fees for last season was around 50m, you can add another 5m on top of that for loan fees.
That comes to around 140m
Our earnings from the PL will be a minimum of 114m
Our earnings from gate receipts will be around 30m, with another couple of million for the cup run.
We should have cleared another 5m from commercial rights and another 2m for additional corporate earnings.
I would guess that our earnings will be at least 150m - that would give a 30m margin of error - 10m plus the 20m we are allowed to lose
The Premier League allows any losses directly caused by the c.v. to be discounted from FFP calculations. Forest have previously said that the adverse impact of c.v. was £16.7million across 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Where we do have a problem is promotion bonuses for the year we went up. We didn't budget for these, so probably went outside the limit that season. Will we be sanctioned for that? If so, I'd say it is unlikely to be a 10 point deduction effectively for getting promoted unexpectedly.
6.) 03 Jan 2024 15:10:47
Interesting analysis RC. I've read that our championship losses used up our 'allowance'. £13 million per season and £35 million for first PL season, we overspent by £61 million before promotion.
Crux will be, what have we spent and generated in our first season back?
It would appear we're not allowed any losses, so BJ sale could be crucial. I like Forest in the news but prefer if it was footballing issues.
7.) 03 Jan 2024 22:31:21
Brennan Johnson transfer fee was 'pure profit'. Which apparently is quite important when factored into FFP. Not totally sure, though, as I've not really looked into that side of it all.
8.) 04 Jan 2024 08:44:55
Accounts for 2022/ 23 ended June, Johnson was sold in September so won't be included in the accounts.
Forest will argue they kept him beyond June to claim an extra £10m+ on his transfer fee.
Think it's going to be tight. Hopefully Big M has a few contacts.
9.) 04 Jan 2024 16:48:39
Steve, the big man does have contacts but unfortunately they’re all in Greece mate! ??.
10.) 08 Jan 2024 17:07:18
Eric Dier offered to Forest on loan apparently. sounds like rubbish to me!
14 Jun 2023 17:42:55
Brentford bid 30 million for Johnson.
Dream on.
Who’s been smoking the crack pipe down in London? Obviously we rejected out of hand.
1.) 14 Jun 2023 19:19:09
Has to be untouchable this window.
2.) 14 Jun 2023 22:11:23
Ivan Toney bet on us keeping him so must be good.
3.) 17 Jun 2023 10:25:44
He will want another year with us at least to establish himself as a top striker.
16 Apr 2023 13:31:07
Well I’m in the boozer before kick off. Big rumours that Steven Gerard will be at the City Ground today. So keep your eyes out folks ?.
1.) 16 Apr 2023 14:03:55
More likely to be keeping an eye on parked cars for a few quid than anything else.
2.) 16 Apr 2023 14:14:02
I don’t think a young inexperienced manager such as Gerrard or Viera have any chance of saving Forest, infact it’s frying pan into the fire. Who did Crystal Palace replace Viera with a 70 yr old. We would be better with a Sam A, Harry, or Benitez.
3.) 16 Apr 2023 14:29:11
Sacking Vieira worked for palace as they brought in a manger who knows the club and players. Sacking the manager hasn't helped southampton or Leicester.
4.) 16 Apr 2023 16:30:00
'arry has sunk every club he's been to!
12 Apr 2023 06:09:41
Forest in talks with Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson. Let’s hope if he does come he doesn’t sign the likes of Wood, Shelvey etc.
1.) 12 Apr 2023 20:49:19
Did a great job at Southampton by all accounts.
2.) 13 Apr 2023 06:44:06
Let's give it a go and see what happens. Januaya complete disaster in the transfer market ?.
11 Apr 2023 18:39:09
sporting director, Filippo Giraldi, has been relieved of duties
Only been here 6 months.
Big M sharpening his ace as we speak.
1.) 12 Apr 2023 12:02:35
To me that indicates once again he's not happy with the transfers we've brought in.

Evening folks, on my way to the ground. It will be interesting to see if the lads do step up tonight or not. Was AP genuinely liked? Or even have they taken to Dyche yet? Not too confident of a result tonight but we can live in hope
COYR.
1.) 23 Oct 2025 18:05:58
Ange was never really liked by the fans nevermind the players and most of them were never going to give him a chance. Hopefully, the Forest faithful will give Dyche more than 6 games before they start calling for his head. I don't think the coach can be held responsible for bad finishing and even worse defending like we saw on Saturday.
2.) 23 Oct 2025 18:40:26
I think the City Ground will be packed to the rafters. When SD walks out I hope he will be given a tremendous ovation. Sadly I am in A/ E with my FinL and will be for the duration I suspect.
3.) 23 Oct 2025 18:49:55
Got to say the atmosphere outside is actually really upbeat. ?.
21 Oct 2025 19:55:32
All of this stems from miss management at the very top. Edu signing players Nuno didn’t want or need. Now we have Dyche.
Honestly I wish him well, but how did it get to this? Huge questions need answers, the instability isn’t over by a long shot.
1.) 21 Oct 2025 21:07:11
All we can do as supporters/ fans is support the players and the coaching team that coaches them. The egotists in charge like Edu and Marinakis are the ones who pull the strings and they don't really care about what we think.
2.) 22 Oct 2025 10:05:01
Being a bit cynical, in football a contract is useless, i can't help thinking Mr Marinakis appointed Dyche until end of season and then go for Suva who's buy out clause is anything from 8 to 15 million?, and paying up Dyches contract, could save him money?. If Sean Dyche is a success it's all mute anyway, it would be hard to sack him!. Just still getting my head around his appointment ?.
18 Oct 2025 19:18:20
What a big mess and now Dyche ball to look forward to. My mates an Everton season ticket holder and says the football is as boring as watching paint dry. Wonderful. Probably be my last year as a season ticket holder. The club is a festering mess of toxicity.
1.) 18 Oct 2025 19:47:20
I want to be the first to say it. Dyche out! ?.
2.) 18 Oct 2025 20:00:16
Lee Carsley?
3.) 18 Oct 2025 21:26:32
Good call
We have a lot of young players he has worked with. Progressive.
Dyche, not for me. Though I like Ian Woan. You just know how it would pan out.
13 Oct 2025 05:03:15
Edu in Nuno out. Wilson out now Dyche in? What an absolute mess, and amongst all that a crock of a manager who has lost 30 of his last 45 Premier League games.
“It is who we are mate. “.
1.) 13 Oct 2025 11:34:03
Time to think about beating Chelsea comfortably on Saturday breakfast! Can't think about another loss because we know what the vibe would be! Take a risk on Hutchinson-stick him in against his old club. Sometimes happens. doesn't it?
PS Had we beaten Chelsea last time we would have been in the Champions league! Phew! Picture it now folks!
2.) 14 Oct 2025 09:08:43
I don't think 99 minutes against Chelsea will define our season again, but it's getting damm close!, a win against Chelsea would be so beneficial to try and get some momentum and team and supporters moral again.
3.) 14 Oct 2025 10:53:05
I hate to say this Mossy and Norfolk but I can't see us getting anything in our next 3 games. It’s the definition of madness to keep using the same tactics, players and methods yet expect a different result my friends.
Ange out, Dyche in gives us a much better chance of accumulating points and steadying the ship imo.
4.) 14 Oct 2025 13:48:39
Stokey, Postecoglou has only the bare squad over the break to work with, should I think start getting players back Wednesday, Thursday, Friday to doe any work with the players, not much really, agree the games coming up are difficult even our jink team Bournemouth amongst them, just hope the team can at least get something!.
Can't see Marinakis setting on another coach, who if wasn't sacked by Everton would have been in a relagation battle, also can't see Dyche excepting a contract till the end of the season.
5.) 14 Oct 2025 14:58:23
Ange might be the sort of coach to pull off a surprise win! However are Forest the sort of team to pull off a surprise win as things stand?
We'll know in the first five minutes of the match! I'm still going for Hutchinson.
08 Oct 2025 19:33:36
FAWAZ
That’s all I’m going to say. Things are bad I know, but we are in the premier league after all these years and we don’t have Fawaz as the owner.
We get a real manager and we will be back up and running.
1.) 08 Oct 2025 19:50:45
Edu that's all I'm going to say.
2.) 08 Oct 2025 20:23:15
Agree with you both. Get rid of Ange and Edu and recruit a top manager - then our way forward is secured.
3.) 09 Oct 2025 05:06:10
It seems since the arrival of Edu the ruckus started.
Blame Marinakis for appointing edu and the sacking of Nuno.
4.) 09 Oct 2025 06:35:18
Whoever the tea lady is she's to blame giving them to much green tea! Might as well blame her nobody mentioned her yet ???☕☕☕.
5.) 09 Oct 2025 09:50:44
I know things are real sh*te ATM. Constant change isn't the answer. Ange inherited a rubbish storm and I hope he gets the right amount of time to see if he can bring some cohesion to the team. we are like 7 games into the season and are playing in Europa. Stop acting like we should be pushing for top of the table. Only through adversity will we become stronger. We are at a massive crossroads where we have plateaued, whether that is beautiful he said she said BS, it doesn't matter so stop whining and give all of the club our support. We have the players to make us great, say what you want about Ange, he's the most successful manager to coach us for decades, his style may dig his grave or take us to the next level. Time will tell and hopefully he gets enough time to influence the group.
6.) 09 Oct 2025 10:27:09
Very sensible posts. Someone that knows and understands football better than all of us, said it’s ridiculous to consider sacking AP, and he should be given a chance to turn things round ( see Martin O’Neil interview SkySports.
7.) 09 Oct 2025 22:03:45
Not ridiculous at all Nono. The vast majority of commercial management jobs in the UK have a 3 month probation period - where either party can cease the employment with 'no strings attached' if they feel that the fit isn't right. Why should football management be any different?
24 Dec 2024 20:15:34
Err no thanks. He turned us down before. Why bother calling z he’s just not worth it.
22 May 2024 20:47:46
Well if he does go we will get some compensation. Skegs can be our next manager from the luxury of his seaside recliner. How ya fixed Skegs? ?.
21 May 2024 05:35:02
Perhaps he needs a bit of time Stokey but I have a feeling he’s just not quite the man we need at present. However he has kept us up under difficult circumstances but how much of that was more luck than judgement is anyone’s guess.
It would perhaps be a tough call to sack him.
20 May 2024 12:47:31
If he leaves I hope we aren’t paying him off. I’m no fan of Nuno but perhaps, just for once, we give a coach a chance with the transfer policy he actually wants? We certainly look more capable of scoring goals under him but the defensive side of things has been atrocious. Stability is needed all round.
12 Feb 2024 20:09:09
Well having seen Sels live he looks crap but his kicking is better than the others. We seem to have a group of goalkeepers who are unable to make saves when it matters.
20 Oct 2025 14:31:28
Nice post Stokey, just I don’t fancy paying all that money for my season ticket to watch Dyche ball and listen to his dreary post match interviews.
19 Oct 2025 06:56:12
Free Bowie!
06 Oct 2025 07:52:41
Add to that the foul in the build up to the Danish sides breakaway third goal.
04 Oct 2025 16:30:33
I find it more embarrassing that a perfectly decent manager wasn’t listened to and backed correctly. Nuno knew what was needed. We instead signed loads of players- many that weren’t needed. The rest is, as they say, history.
03 Oct 2025 14:13:03
100% bsred
This is all self inflicted. I have never, in all my years, seen or heard anything like that last night. Around me, to a person, everyone chanted your getting sacked in the morning. Everyone. Man woman and child. Whether that’s right or wrong remains to be seen. But with a stack of hard premier league games ahead I honestly don’t think AP has much of a lifeline now. Another three or four games like that and he’s gone. Who we replace him with is another question. Such a shame about Nuno, but I think to some extent if we are brutally honest he did engineer his own demise.
