The all too familiar feeling of the Fawaz era is flooding back. Dire football, broken promises, pantomime signings- all fed by the sale of some of the clubs best home grown talent. Except this time it’s worse, much worse.

DoF who seems clueless, long contracts for bit part players, the inability of the club to even loan out some of the deadwood like Clough. And back room staff- by all reports some 15 people all dragging a wage from the club. And then we continually see this unhealthy relationship with Olympiakos. They are our owners true love, let’s not kid ourselves that we are anything other than a part time mistress to do with as he pleases.

One up front Lamouchi won’t change his style and will be gone by October, and again the merry go round continues. More foreign coaches, more upheaval, more steps backwards. It’s all so depressingly familiar.

NEP throwing some doubt on the da Costa move tonight quoting a GIF off the players twitter feed of Barak Obama shrugging his shoulders and some reference for his followers to not believe what has been written in France about the proposed move.

He's not really in a situation to do anything else. We can't read too much into it.

2.) 28 Jan 2020 09:23:57
Good! He'd most likely be a project. We want promotion this season.

Augustin confirmed to Leeds, ex PSG striker with great pedigree. Such a shame we couldn’t have pulled that one out of the bag. Let’s hope something better comes out way.

Quite a few games coming up at home now, we need to start playing two up front, getting on the front foot and actually attacking teams. I would give Brennan Johnson a go just behind Grabban, give the lad four or five games and see how he does. With the loss of form by Lolley and Adomah, perhaps Mighten should also be given a chance. We can’t do any worse that the previous dross served up at home, so come on SL, let’s be brave and have a go!

RedFrog

1.) 27 Dec 2019 21:26:37
I do agree about Johnson but it is doubtful the head coach will do that.

2.) 27 Dec 2019 22:02:23
Problem is if Lamouchi does and it doesn't go well its head on the block, while I like your enthusiasm and in a way and in a perfect football world I'd like to se that, but when kids come through and they don't hit the ground running they get slaughtered by fans.

3.) 28 Dec 2019 09:52:12
Coaches talk about our great history but they don't have the bottle to take us back. Cloughie would have given Brennan a run in the team by now.

You're right about the pressure changing how willing to take a risk coaches are. If we had a secure boss then we could throw out youngsters more often.

Although a result is needed, I think a good performance is more important. The past few games have been poor, and having watched us a lot this season we aren’t the most creative of teams. We haven’t got our own style of play yet and have been very boring at times.

RedFrog

1.) 02 Nov 2019 17:51:49
Well you got the result and the performance, alls good .

With Ancelotti going to Real Madrid hopefully Everton will swoop for CH 🤣🤣
I’m sure the Toffees will love one shot on goal and 4-3-2-1 every game.

RedFrog

1.) 01 Jun 2021 18:23:56
They do like sticky situations after all.

2.) 02 Jun 2021 12:03:47
Can’t sing for toffee 🙃.

29 May 2021 15:26:24
Really enjoyable play off final with goals shots and incidents. Such a contrast to our bland matches where people talk about our one shot on target in the whole 90 minutes. We are light years behind these teams sadly.

RedFrog

1.) 29 May 2021 16:14:47
Both for me will struggle in the premiership without a doubt tho redfrog. Which brings us back to how far we are away as you said from football as a whole.

2.) 29 May 2021 17:13:54
Bournemouth survived for a while Bowiered, if Brentford spend wisely so could they.

3.) 29 May 2021 17:40:49
Is it really the spending mull mate. I want another peter Taylor bless him.for me there's a lot of luck involved with signings. We had none. Sorry for moaning mate just hurts to see how far we are away. 🥺

I’ve watched all of the lower leagues play offs up to now and hardly any players have caught my eye. Johnson seems very quiet for Lincoln, in this form I’m not sure he would get in our first team:

RedFrog

1.) 22 May 2021 16:36:42
I agree redfrog 👍.

2.) 22 May 2021 16:50:55
Just booked for diving after a good run,he will fit in well with Mighten 😁

3.) 22 May 2021 17:46:57
Who has caught your eye then RedFrog, as you said hardly any have caught your eye.

4.) 22 May 2021 17:55:26
Imps just got outmuscled first half by a very physical Sunderland side. Must have been some team talk by Appleton at half time. At times Lincoln were knocking it about like Brazil second half.

Grant was anonymous and there was no space for young Johnson to operate in. I thought Bridcutt did a good captains job holding it together after they got battered 1st half.

5.) 22 May 2021 18:30:55
How much of there being not many stand out players is down to the pressure of trying to get into the play off final with what is at stake.

What a player does over the whole season is more important than what they do in the odd game.

6.) 22 May 2021 22:14:42
@Get Forward
I liked Aiden McGeady at Sunderland but sadly he is getting on in years. Still a class act though. Blackpool have a couple of decent players, they seem like a team going places.

7.) 23 May 2021 15:08:48
From what I’ve seen in the playoffs only our own BJ and yeates from Blackpool would be the only ones to get into our squad, didn’t even see that much in Mowatt who people say would be decent free. But like one poster stated we can’t judge players on a few games.

8.) 23 May 2021 16:08:06
I thought BJs were what got most players in the first team dreamteam 😏.

9.) 23 May 2021 16:20:47
That must be why some players do not get picked enough for the first team Bowiered, either they won't do Bj's or the manager expects the players to go the extra mile. 😁.

10.) 23 May 2021 16:28:08
Wow a mile GF and the wife tells me i exaggerate 😂.

11.) 23 May 2021 17:11:38
Are you angling towards something Bowiered. 😁.

21 May 2021 12:09:08
Big Wes Morgan just announced his retirement. I’m surprised we haven’t swooped and offered him a five year contract as our marquee summer signing. 🤣

“Premiership winning captain blah blah blah”.

RedFrog

1.) 21 May 2021 12:30:04
Class redfrog 😂😂.

2.) 21 May 2021 13:14:54
We'd probably end up with the "Big Wes Morgan" the American version!
😂😂😂.

21 May 2021 05:29:24
I know one thing, if we are near the bottom three after the first five games of the new season then the pressure on Hughton will be intense. The City Ground crowd will not put up with one shot on goal per match and no game plan.
The club and long suffering fans deserve better. Enough is enough.

RedFrog

1.) 21 May 2021 09:27:25
Once football for Forest starts again the manager will have pressure on him, virtually a full term in charge, two windows bringing in his own players but remember Pearce and the start he had so no harm moaning about the football but as much as i think it is a mistake the club having faith in the manager he has to be given a bit longer than four or five games.

2.) 21 May 2021 19:12:02
Good of ya to come forward as your name suggests mate 👍.

It will be the best stadium in League One

We should sort recruitment out immediately otherwise we are in big trouble.

To some extent I agree that Taylor has been a huge disappointment but let’s be honest the service he has had has been woeful. We could play Ronaldo up front- if the ball doesn’t arrive to him in the correct areas then he won’t score. No creativity, pace or guile in the side . That’s the truth wether we like Taylor or not.

I’m sure we would offer him a 3 year £30k a week deal Burncross- I wonder if we could tempt Bobby Charlton too?

I’m not surprised, he is an attacker. Our DOF only seems interested in defensive midfielders and defenders, when everyone knows (but him) that it’s attacking midfielders and wingers we need. Going to be a big problem for Lamouchi, after all he can only play with the players he has at his disposal. The way it’s feeling our new formation will be 6-4-0-0.

Who?

No good for us mate, he wouldn’t get any meaningful service and would end up with 4 goals at the end of the season- probably 2 of which were lucky penalties 🤣.

Sorry if you feel upset Steve but I stand by my earlier post. Our stadium is tired, our owner has another club who is his first love, our recruitment policy is a shambles, some of our players are woeful and our managers brand of football is boring and negative. But most of our fans are great. Obviously these are only my opinions.
But in all honesty I’m hardly lying am I?

No Gazza mate, his replacement is a nailed on third team player from Olympiacos, 45 year old knacker on a three year 30k a week contract.
