Worrying reports tonight that the Premier League are looking at us over financial fair play. Shame given some of the dross we have paid out for -I know we sold Johnson but it could be a serious matter for us.

RedFrog

1.) 03 Jan 2024 06:51:49
They may stop us getting anymore players, which is not such a bad thing?.

2.) 03 Jan 2024 07:54:37
The Premier League will take Chelsea's and City's points deduction and give it to us and the Toffee's.

3.) 03 Jan 2024 09:29:07
Could effect a potential Navas loan?

4.) 03 Jan 2024 11:54:34
The PL is looking at everyone, it's the annual check of club accounts and we (and every other club) will find out if we've been good boys or not on 14th January. It's only the press that are targetting Forest as 'most likely', no the PL.

5.) 03 Jan 2024 14:08:01
I think we'll probably be OK:-

A few points.

We spent around 85m on wages last season; this excludes any income we received from players going out on loan.

Our liability on amortised transfer fees for last season was around 50m, you can add another 5m on top of that for loan fees.

That comes to around 140m

Our earnings from the PL will be a minimum of 114m

Our earnings from gate receipts will be around 30m, with another couple of million for the cup run.

We should have cleared another 5m from commercial rights and another 2m for additional corporate earnings.

I would guess that our earnings will be at least 150m - that would give a 30m margin of error - 10m plus the 20m we are allowed to lose

The Premier League allows any losses directly caused by the c.v. to be discounted from FFP calculations. Forest have previously said that the adverse impact of c.v. was £16.7million across 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Where we do have a problem is promotion bonuses for the year we went up. We didn't budget for these, so probably went outside the limit that season. Will we be sanctioned for that? If so, I'd say it is unlikely to be a 10 point deduction effectively for getting promoted unexpectedly.

6.) 03 Jan 2024 15:10:47
Interesting analysis RC. I've read that our championship losses used up our 'allowance'. £13 million per season and £35 million for first PL season, we overspent by £61 million before promotion.
Crux will be, what have we spent and generated in our first season back?
It would appear we're not allowed any losses, so BJ sale could be crucial. I like Forest in the news but prefer if it was footballing issues.

7.) 03 Jan 2024 22:31:21
Brennan Johnson transfer fee was 'pure profit'. Which apparently is quite important when factored into FFP. Not totally sure, though, as I've not really looked into that side of it all.

8.) 04 Jan 2024 08:44:55
Accounts for 2022/ 23 ended June, Johnson was sold in September so won't be included in the accounts.

Forest will argue they kept him beyond June to claim an extra £10m+ on his transfer fee.

Think it's going to be tight. Hopefully Big M has a few contacts.

9.) 04 Jan 2024 16:48:39
Steve, the big man does have contacts but unfortunately they’re all in Greece mate! ??.

10.) 08 Jan 2024 17:07:18
Eric Dier offered to Forest on loan apparently. sounds like rubbish to me!

14 Jun 2023 17:42:55
Brentford bid 30 million for Johnson.

Dream on.

Who’s been smoking the crack pipe down in London? Obviously we rejected out of hand.

RedFrog

1.) 14 Jun 2023 19:19:09
Has to be untouchable this window.

2.) 14 Jun 2023 22:11:23
Ivan Toney bet on us keeping him so must be good.

3.) 17 Jun 2023 10:25:44
He will want another year with us at least to establish himself as a top striker.

16 Apr 2023 13:31:07
Well I’m in the boozer before kick off. Big rumours that Steven Gerard will be at the City Ground today. So keep your eyes out folks ?.

RedFrog

1.) 16 Apr 2023 14:03:55
More likely to be keeping an eye on parked cars for a few quid than anything else.

2.) 16 Apr 2023 14:14:02
I don’t think a young inexperienced manager such as Gerrard or Viera have any chance of saving Forest, infact it’s frying pan into the fire. Who did Crystal Palace replace Viera with a 70 yr old. We would be better with a Sam A, Harry, or Benitez.

3.) 16 Apr 2023 14:29:11
Sacking Vieira worked for palace as they brought in a manger who knows the club and players. Sacking the manager hasn't helped southampton or Leicester.

4.) 16 Apr 2023 16:30:00
'arry has sunk every club he's been to!

12 Apr 2023 06:09:41
Forest in talks with Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson. Let’s hope if he does come he doesn’t sign the likes of Wood, Shelvey etc.

RedFrog

1.) 12 Apr 2023 20:49:19
Did a great job at Southampton by all accounts.

2.) 13 Apr 2023 06:44:06
Let's give it a go and see what happens. Januaya complete disaster in the transfer market ?.

11 Apr 2023 18:39:09
sporting director, Filippo Giraldi, has been relieved of duties

Only been here 6 months.

Big M sharpening his ace as we speak.

RedFrog

1.) 12 Apr 2023 12:02:35
To me that indicates once again he's not happy with the transfers we've brought in.

{Ed033's Note - ok, best of luck.

1.) 13 Apr 2024 21:29:46
That's a shame redfrog goodbye mate.

08 Apr 2024 19:57:08
Well Everton given a further two point deduction- I was hoping they would get more ?
Been a few very bad days for us, other results going against us and a bit of a drubbing at spurs. Let’s hope we turn it round against wolves, if we don’t then I guess we really are in the mire.

RedFrog

1.) 09 Apr 2024 08:45:22
Even if we lose against wolves it still won't be has bad as you like to make out it will go to the wire Luton have no chance of picking points up against city and Brentford and Everton are still in with a shout of getting in bottom 3 so I'm not panicking at the minute ?.

2.) 09 Apr 2024 12:09:38
Skegs I Agree mate, some really pessimistic stuff on here. I think we’ll beat wolves,

3.) 09 Apr 2024 12:30:58
I have to agree with you Skaggs as well, wolves aren’t as good as they seem, we can get something at Everton and them up in South Yorkshire. I even think Chelsea are doable if the crowd can get behind the team.

4.) 09 Apr 2024 12:36:05
Hey Stevie April fools as gone ? all depends again on what team he puts out and what tactics he sets us up with we have the players to win this game and as far as I know the first team strikers are out injured for wolves.

5.) 09 Apr 2024 13:25:35
Skegs I’ve always said if you say something I agree with I’ll say so,

08 Apr 2024 05:18:32
Disappointing but only to be expected- top 4 team away from home and all that. Only thing that surprises me is that spurs didn’t score more yet we did have an only if moment when Woody hit the post when it was easier to score. He’s living off scraps really though. Players not good enough? Useless coach? A combination of the two I suspect, we really are sleepwalking towards the trap door.

RedFrog

1.) 08 Apr 2024 08:11:58
Luton played Tottenham the week before, went in ahead at 1/ 2 time. An own goal and a Spurs winner on 86. My point is some of the players have no fighting spirit in them and that comes down to the manager. On paper we are better than Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United and that was argued to be the case at the start of this season. Knowing we need to play Burnley and Sheffield United plus a game at Everton. We should be able to win all and are likely then to be safe. My concern is the lack of motivation of some of the players. Luton are more motivated and although they have a potentially harder run in they could sadly for us pull it off. Rob Edwards kept his team together on a shoe string , got Barkley playing a blinder signed on a free. It all comes down to the manger, and that fact is why we are in the premiership to start with!

2.) 08 Apr 2024 08:24:41
Great Post doc.

3.) 08 Apr 2024 08:30:53
Totally disagree we more than matched them 1st half and if Woody had scored that tap in would have been a different second half

Everton will get a 3pt deduction and Luton will get thrashed at City we need to beat Wolves at the City Ground

Onwards and upwards COYR.

4.) 08 Apr 2024 10:55:18
Love the optimism, But deluded. Relying on points deduction says it all.

5.) 08 Apr 2024 12:59:50
Munmad totally agreed mate,

6.) 08 Apr 2024 13:01:26
Dream on Luton must be deluded then they’re relying on our points deduction.

7.) 09 Apr 2024 00:21:07
I’ll remind you Stevie f and mad mun at the end of the season of what you have just posted, THEN we’ll see who was deluded ay.

8.) 09 Apr 2024 12:12:24
Dream on well you can’t have it both ways, if we’re deluded and relying on others getting points deductions, Luton definitely are,

9.) 09 Apr 2024 14:03:04
The season ain’t over yet pal.

05 Apr 2024 19:58:18
Reading the comments it seems I have offended a few people. Let me tell you I live and die Forest. I attended home and away for over 4 years. If I see a manger not upto scratch I call it out. My first man was Allan Brown. Nuno isn’t a patch on him or many since. He is a charlatan. That’s my personal opinion and I don’t give a hoot if it’s yours or not. I will continue to call it as I see it and if that doesn’t fit in with your agendas tough luck.

RedFrog

1.) 05 Apr 2024 22:19:22
It's all just opinions Frog - none right, none wrong - as long as we all share the same drive to will our club to better things.

2.) 05 Apr 2024 22:58:51
I didn't see any fans complaining about the performance he got out of the lads against Fulham best first half of football I've seen in many years as long as he keeps us up I'm happy with that so should any fan be that lives dies forest then its up to maranakis to see if he still wants him here ureddddssss.

3.) 05 Apr 2024 23:02:05
And he got us the 4 points everyone was asking for from the last 2 games so onwards and upwards ?.

4.) 05 Apr 2024 23:06:30
You don’t have to justify your comments RedFrog and you are entitled to your opinion. If you don’t like it call it out. You can come across a bit doom and gloom sometimes if I’m honest but i agree with a lot of things you say. If Nuno was any flatter he’d fit into an envelope.

5.) 06 Apr 2024 07:14:37
Nobody fancies Nuno for manager of the month this month then.

6.) 06 Apr 2024 07:53:34
Just read my post again.
Should read 40 years?
I’ve spent a small fortune going around the country watching us. Loved every minute, though at times it seems we are a basket case- always shooting ourselves in the foot ?
Skegs the only managerial award Nuno can win “passionless doughnut” one bless him.

04 Apr 2024 18:26:21
Can’t see us getting anything from Spurs game but as long as we have a go I will be happy. Don’t want to slip back into that team of Crystal Palace first half. Got to try to press on and play a little football.
The set piece fiasco needs addressing pronto.

Ffs froggy, i know I'd said I've left, but as you know we've all done it. going to always pop my head in and read posts. Try a f kn red shirt on young man. No wonder the WFCG is on a downer. Get you head outta ya arse and believe. And rogie the diamond, murrilo isn't about pace sir. Noticed you got to few thumbs up there. ? what he does is read the simple things. The game, and he's probably been professional and looked up on players runs, what foot they play on etc. Something our coaches should be drilling. Anyway bye for now. Btw froggy nothing personal, just f kn chill mate. We need confidence not negativity. Bfn COYR.

2.) 04 Apr 2024 21:41:54
Good to hear from you mate!

3.) 04 Apr 2024 22:45:37
Ya know i luv ya diamond, froggy what I'm trying to say sir is this,
My old day's gambling, i know and my good friend stevie f will agree, you moan your horse from the first furlong, you got to remember, there's plenty more fences to approach, each of them different in a chase. each one higher as the race goes on. Now it's no good throwing beer cans at the jockey, when he's whipping it best he can. Words of wisdom. Were never going to have an overweight trainer like clough, were never going to have a lightweight taylor leading them into the paddock. There never going to have the sounds of the WFCG as before cheering them into 1st pkace. But most of ya will still have your pride into believing in the horse and your investment. Wherever it may run. Proud as f ck into all of ya. But especially the away fans. COYR.

4.) 04 Apr 2024 22:47:02
Hello boys today agree Bowie redfrog chill enjoy the win and save the negatives for when we lose best first half of football I've seen in years the whole team was unbelievable.

5.) 04 Apr 2024 23:12:54
Bowie the last horse you backed is being payed 2 pound to be ridden on in skeggy beach ??.

6.) 04 Apr 2024 23:28:24

7.) 05 Apr 2024 00:20:30
Nice to have a newbie, welcome stella??.

8.) 05 Apr 2024 05:25:56
Yes, welcome "Stella" mate. before you know it, it will be like you've known everyone on here for years. ???.

9.) 05 Apr 2024 07:46:44
Welcome back Bowie and the new lad Stella!
Don’t know if I ve ever shared my horse racing experience on here.
Well, the day of the races I kept seeing the number 7. So, for example, there’s a taxi firm round here called “Lucky 7” and I kept seeing their cars. What’s more, they all had 7s in the number plate. I looked up and saw 7 clouds in the sky then a flock of 7 jackdaws flew past. There were 7 butterflies in my garden.
So I thought, right it’s a sign. Do I went to the bookies and put £50 quid on horse number 7.
It came 7th …………?????.

10.) 05 Apr 2024 07:47:58
Hi rogie Stella is not because I drink it I'm tea total ? and I've been reading the site for years all seem a lovely bunch of lads thought I would like to join in with the conversations so take it easy on this newbie and thanks mv ??.

11.) 05 Apr 2024 08:29:52
The boys are back in Town, or should that be Toon!
CARLO.

12.) 05 Apr 2024 10:18:02
Welcome to the Site Stella, I think some gender diversity would be great on here, it’ll mix things up a bit and help encourage varying points of view.

13.) 05 Apr 2024 10:41:26

Well having seen Sels live he looks crap but his kicking is better than the others. We seem to have a group of goalkeepers who are unable to make saves when it matters.

Brilliant, another Hughton. Loves 1 up front and lots of defensive midfielders.
More boredom then- and to pay £1.2 million for his services is nothing short of a bad joke.

Don’t write Luton off. They have great spirit. We on the other hand lack leaders on the pitch and have some players just “going through the motions”.
If we stay up or get relegated one thing is plain to see- we need a huge clear out.

If cooper came back we would be replacing a slightly less regimented low block with…. The mother of all low blocks. Nothing has really changed under Nuno, the results are equally as bad if not worse.

Correct dreamon all we can do is hope. Amazing how so many people clutch at straws when it’s blatantly obvious the manager isn’t up to much and many of the players don’t give a toss or put in a real match winning shift.
