Worrying reports tonight that the Premier League are looking at us over financial fair play. Shame given some of the dross we have paid out for -I know we sold Johnson but it could be a serious matter for us.
1.) 03 Jan 2024 06:51:49
They may stop us getting anymore players, which is not such a bad thing?.
2.) 03 Jan 2024 07:54:37
The Premier League will take Chelsea's and City's points deduction and give it to us and the Toffee's.
3.) 03 Jan 2024 09:29:07
Could effect a potential Navas loan?
4.) 03 Jan 2024 11:54:34
The PL is looking at everyone, it's the annual check of club accounts and we (and every other club) will find out if we've been good boys or not on 14th January. It's only the press that are targetting Forest as 'most likely', no the PL.
5.) 03 Jan 2024 14:08:01
I think we'll probably be OK:-
A few points.
We spent around 85m on wages last season; this excludes any income we received from players going out on loan.
Our liability on amortised transfer fees for last season was around 50m, you can add another 5m on top of that for loan fees.
That comes to around 140m
Our earnings from the PL will be a minimum of 114m
Our earnings from gate receipts will be around 30m, with another couple of million for the cup run.
We should have cleared another 5m from commercial rights and another 2m for additional corporate earnings.
I would guess that our earnings will be at least 150m - that would give a 30m margin of error - 10m plus the 20m we are allowed to lose
The Premier League allows any losses directly caused by the c.v. to be discounted from FFP calculations. Forest have previously said that the adverse impact of c.v. was £16.7million across 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Where we do have a problem is promotion bonuses for the year we went up. We didn't budget for these, so probably went outside the limit that season. Will we be sanctioned for that? If so, I'd say it is unlikely to be a 10 point deduction effectively for getting promoted unexpectedly.
6.) 03 Jan 2024 15:10:47
Interesting analysis RC. I've read that our championship losses used up our 'allowance'. £13 million per season and £35 million for first PL season, we overspent by £61 million before promotion.
Crux will be, what have we spent and generated in our first season back?
It would appear we're not allowed any losses, so BJ sale could be crucial. I like Forest in the news but prefer if it was footballing issues.
7.) 03 Jan 2024 22:31:21
Brennan Johnson transfer fee was 'pure profit'. Which apparently is quite important when factored into FFP. Not totally sure, though, as I've not really looked into that side of it all.
8.) 04 Jan 2024 08:44:55
Accounts for 2022/ 23 ended June, Johnson was sold in September so won't be included in the accounts.
Forest will argue they kept him beyond June to claim an extra £10m+ on his transfer fee.
Think it's going to be tight. Hopefully Big M has a few contacts.
9.) 04 Jan 2024 16:48:39
Steve, the big man does have contacts but unfortunately they’re all in Greece mate! ??.
10.) 08 Jan 2024 17:07:18
Eric Dier offered to Forest on loan apparently. sounds like rubbish to me!
14 Jun 2023 17:42:55
Brentford bid 30 million for Johnson.
Dream on.
Who’s been smoking the crack pipe down in London? Obviously we rejected out of hand.
1.) 14 Jun 2023 19:19:09
Has to be untouchable this window.
2.) 14 Jun 2023 22:11:23
Ivan Toney bet on us keeping him so must be good.
3.) 17 Jun 2023 10:25:44
He will want another year with us at least to establish himself as a top striker.
16 Apr 2023 13:31:07
Well I’m in the boozer before kick off. Big rumours that Steven Gerard will be at the City Ground today. So keep your eyes out folks ?.
1.) 16 Apr 2023 14:03:55
More likely to be keeping an eye on parked cars for a few quid than anything else.
2.) 16 Apr 2023 14:14:02
I don’t think a young inexperienced manager such as Gerrard or Viera have any chance of saving Forest, infact it’s frying pan into the fire. Who did Crystal Palace replace Viera with a 70 yr old. We would be better with a Sam A, Harry, or Benitez.
3.) 16 Apr 2023 14:29:11
Sacking Vieira worked for palace as they brought in a manger who knows the club and players. Sacking the manager hasn't helped southampton or Leicester.
4.) 16 Apr 2023 16:30:00
'arry has sunk every club he's been to!
12 Apr 2023 06:09:41
Forest in talks with Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson. Let’s hope if he does come he doesn’t sign the likes of Wood, Shelvey etc.
1.) 12 Apr 2023 20:49:19
Did a great job at Southampton by all accounts.
2.) 13 Apr 2023 06:44:06
Let's give it a go and see what happens. Januaya complete disaster in the transfer market ?.
11 Apr 2023 18:39:09
sporting director, Filippo Giraldi, has been relieved of duties
Only been here 6 months.
Big M sharpening his ace as we speak.
1.) 12 Apr 2023 12:02:35
To me that indicates once again he's not happy with the transfers we've brought in.

Morning all just reading through the comments and one posters name stands out as divisive and troublesome. Even after a good win can’t help but poke and troll people. Probably going to give it a rest for a while posting. Still buzzing from yesterday though great win for the lads. COYR.
1.) 15 Dec 2025 09:11:38
Actually watched highlights we looked really good they were all good to watch but sangare and hudson looked great I'm hoping we can put performances in like that every game. and I'm hoping sangare proves me wrong about him. hope you had a few pints for me yesterday frog.
2.) 15 Dec 2025 09:48:32
Red frog, there is more than just one troublesome ( I would call it childish ) person on here.
There are 4 or 5 who are as bad as each other.
And yes, it was a great win. Brilliant performance. Stand out for me was Jesus.
3.) 15 Dec 2025 10:10:57
Morning baldy ?.
4.) 15 Dec 2025 10:32:47
Good morning Stellaboy. I have no idea why you said that, but thank you anyway.
14 Dec 2025 18:21:45
Just got back brilliant day with my mates at TWFCG what a performance. Every player to a man put a real shift in and I thought Sangare was superb today. I have criticised him in the past but wow what a game he had and Jesus ran and ran and pressured spurs all along their back line.
1.) 14 Dec 2025 18:48:22
Sangare had so many issues to overcome when he got here. I'm really pleased for him that his ability can shine through.
Jesus is a MArinakis signing though DTP, NOT an Edu one. Fair is fair. ?.
2.) 14 Dec 2025 19:34:04
Yeah, they played well today and clicked nicely at times, we have really missed Murillo, he is quite a player in defence and going forwards.
lots of standout performances.
Good stuff all round, come back fit Sangare!
3.) 14 Dec 2025 19:47:21
I want to see him at left back ginger ??.
4.) 14 Dec 2025 20:14:01
We were excellent today. To a man we were on top form. Couldn't be prouder of them.
5.) 14 Dec 2025 20:14:27
Hope Balloons isn't reading all this praise for Murrillo!
???.
6.) 14 Dec 2025 20:16:24
Glad you enjoyed it redfrog
Same players you called rotten to the core though on Thursday before the winner went in?
7.) 14 Dec 2025 21:19:59
None are edu signings cyclist, we have a head of recruitment for that and it's not edu.
14 Dec 2025 11:11:15
On my way to the match calling off at the pub first hopefully we put a shift in today we desperately need 3 points COYR.
1.) 14 Dec 2025 11:30:32
COYR! ?.
2.) 14 Dec 2025 11:30:38
Have a good day froggy and have a few for me.
3.) 14 Dec 2025 11:45:11
Thought for a moment you meant it was called off mate!
4.) 14 Dec 2025 12:10:06
Anyway, Tight 1-0 Forest!
COYRS!
5.) 14 Dec 2025 13:06:43
Cheers lads can’t wait for kick off. COYR.
13 Dec 2025 10:45:49
Looking forward to the spurs game tomorrow just hope we put a shift in. Also it would be great if Jesus could carry on his goal scoring efforts from Europe into Premier League games. COYR.
1.) 13 Dec 2025 11:58:14
Yeah mate, got down here early, couple of pints in town today with a few mates. Then hit a curry house tonight. There seems to be a good buzz amongst our fans I've bumped into and anticipation of a great performance and result.
With players coming back and getting minutes under the belt we can all live in hope. ?.
2.) 13 Dec 2025 13:46:28
Mines a chicken tikka masala ?
Enjoy and let’s hope for a good result for us we could really do with the 3 points.
3.) 13 Dec 2025 19:17:19
I don’t look forward to any of the league games anymore. Europa ones are ok as we have a decent chance of winning on the group stages as most teams are championship standard.
4.) 13 Dec 2025 19:47:27
Bit of a negative attitude there gold stars, so what happens when we get to the knockout stages of the Europa League, are you going to stop watching?. I won't, quite the opposite. i haven't been to any of the Europa League games yet, too expensive for as you say championship level football, but I just might pay the extra for a better standard of football.
As for the premier League games I go to then all, win or lose. its what WE do.
5.) 13 Dec 2025 20:11:28
I'm hoping our rotten to the core players show a few on here
Quietly optimistic we'll sneak a win with a lot of players back.
6.) 13 Dec 2025 20:13:04
It's not great football to watch. last season I didn't worry about many teams scoring against us. now it's a free for all and the passing is non existent also the long balls that end up going no where its pretty dire to be honest can I see us beating spurs no chance not unless we can put 4 or 5 past them and that won't happen with kalibellendo and jesus.
7.) 13 Dec 2025 20:32:20
Good for you vale, I personally would sooner see us compete and have a chance. I went to Brighton - terrible performance against a pretty average team. Premier league games therefore equal poor value for money for me. We’re all different in our views, my view is football is no fun when you struggle to even compete.
8.) 13 Dec 2025 20:52:05
Think on the whole 2 star things are improving
We weren't ready for Europe, but you have to take it
Having to suddenly need a big squad was always going to be difficult, to have three coaches in 3 months and a long injury list just made everything tough
Think we've turned a corner got some stability back and will climb the table, quite a few sides that started well are in free fall now.
9.) 13 Dec 2025 20:57:42
Wasn't always a good watch last season either skeggs, if winning and 20 mins to go plus injury time it was morato on and an attacker off and parking the bus for the rest of the game
All fans accept that when your winning, there were games when as soon as we went a goal down, then we couldn't get back into a game.
10.) 13 Dec 2025 21:20:52
I get your point point gold stars, it can be hard to watch but it's Forest and we have to expect ups and downs. when we got promoted I wasn't sure what to expect but now I wouldn't want anything but the premier League. But we have to take the good and the bad, it's all part of life and we can't change it we can only adapt to it.
Forest won't change its one long roller coaster ride, I've been on it for sixty years, and I've no intention of getting off yet.
11.) 13 Dec 2025 21:33:44
I want to see success for the younger generations
Redvale me you and our age group seen that succes and decline, be great for the new generation to witness some success
Marinakis has created a huge new fan base by putting bums on seats in the championship for little expense to youngsters.
12.) 14 Dec 2025 10:35:44
You’re dead right DTP, owner has probably nurtured a 50k + fan base, in the modern world of football that has to be a key objective for any club. I Jsut wish we could find a cohesion in the leadership team, where the SLT are at one with the football philosophy, agree on the type of players needed, sign the best individual (of that type) who is willing to come.
I make it sound so easy - I’m sure it’s not.
13.) 14 Dec 2025 11:37:50
Good post DTP. When my grandad and uncle got my cousins and myself into Forest we were already in the height of the decline. League one trails and tribunals.
Then spending forever in the championship having roller-coaster seasons.
Then Mr M steps in and we've been on a upward curve ever since give or take the odd blip.
I would give anything to be a champions league club and have to chance to watch us playing at the highest table once again. ?.
14.) 14 Dec 2025 12:02:45
2 Gold Stars: it takes time. Villa have improved enormously over the last two years. There's a lesson for us to learn there. Our problem is losing our best players: if we can win something that will make them want to stay.
11 Dec 2025 20:10:03
Pleased with the win but when will we learn to take our chances and not be subject to pressure from silly equalisers?
Zinchenko Ndoye and McAtee very poor tonight pleased for Jesus with his goal. Morato for once looked comfortable, Murillo just fantastic.
1.) 11 Dec 2025 20:25:19
Morato had a good game.
2.) 11 Dec 2025 20:55:24
Funny that redfrog as on live chat you said these players are rotten to the core and you missed the goal cus you where clearing cat rubbish off your drive ???.
3.) 11 Dec 2025 21:45:27
I thought you was watching game ?? if you had watched it you would of seen how crap were apart from morato murrilo and mgw and Jesus when we were in trouble.
4.) 11 Dec 2025 22:24:15
I watched the game and looked after
You do realise we can look at live chats after the games? ????.
5.) 12 Dec 2025 05:09:30
I'm glad you take time out to have a look ?.
6.) 12 Dec 2025 07:52:51
No point going on there during a game, because that's the last thing you talk about skeggs ?.
7.) 12 Dec 2025 09:04:07
That's a shame we love hearing all about your predictions ??.
24 Dec 2024 20:15:34
Err no thanks. He turned us down before. Why bother calling z he’s just not worth it.
22 May 2024 20:47:46
Well if he does go we will get some compensation. Skegs can be our next manager from the luxury of his seaside recliner. How ya fixed Skegs? ?.
21 May 2024 05:35:02
Perhaps he needs a bit of time Stokey but I have a feeling he’s just not quite the man we need at present. However he has kept us up under difficult circumstances but how much of that was more luck than judgement is anyone’s guess.
It would perhaps be a tough call to sack him.
20 May 2024 12:47:31
If he leaves I hope we aren’t paying him off. I’m no fan of Nuno but perhaps, just for once, we give a coach a chance with the transfer policy he actually wants? We certainly look more capable of scoring goals under him but the defensive side of things has been atrocious. Stability is needed all round.
12 Feb 2024 20:09:09
Well having seen Sels live he looks crap but his kicking is better than the others. We seem to have a group of goalkeepers who are unable to make saves when it matters.
14 Dec 2025 13:06:43
Cheers lads can’t wait for kick off. COYR.
13 Dec 2025 13:46:28
Mines a chicken tikka masala ?
Enjoy and let’s hope for a good result for us we could really do with the 3 points.
12 Dec 2025 14:46:04
Ndoye needs a rest. He started with us quite well but has slipped of late. CHO looked quite good against Utrecht - I would go with him and Hutchinson.
12 Dec 2025 13:22:38
DTP Can you stop poking other posters for once? We won, we are delighted, but if we have an opinion which is different to yours then please just leave it alone.
IGNORE our posts. Nudge nudge wink wink- unsurprisingly we do mostly ignore yours ??.
11 Dec 2025 13:17:15
Munmad I pay my money and am entitled to an opinion. If the team plays well I will say so. If the team plays badly I will say so. I am entitled to an opinion because I travel from Lincolnshire to most home games and a lot of away games.
Do I remember Donny and Rotherham away? Of course l do because I WAS THERE. Like I was at Crewe, Yeovil, Peterborough etc etc etc …….
