Some facts I learnt last night
1. SC does not get on with Marakanis - no surprise there. I suspect 8/ 10 players coming to the club are not his choice
2. Graham Potter will be the next Forest manager.

doc m

17 Sep 2021 09:51:08
Our new manager is Steve Cooper? How do I know? Well all I can say is that he has been seen yesterday looking at a house.

doc m

1.) 17 Sep 2021 10:18:17
I doesn't matter who our next manager is and I think it's about time people stop blaming the managers.
The club has been a shambles for a long time now and it's clear to me where the problem truly lies.

MARINAKIS OUT!

2.) 17 Sep 2021 11:06:29
Tomo, mate, sadly without Marinakos there wouldn’t be Forest to support . We’d be defunct except for some glorious pages in the history books. Sometimes you have to sup with the devil to survive. 😕.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 12:00:59
I hope he's only looking at short term rental properties Doc.

4.) 17 Sep 2021 16:34:55
Marinakis is keeping the club alive. Be careful what you wish for.

16 Sep 2021 07:19:00
Allegedly Steve Cooper and Alex Neil are in the melting pot . If it's true both will be trying to negotiate for control of player transfers . This is the problem not paying off CH . Big M is not in control, it's the myriad of people in between all wanting to have a finger in the pie . The club is undergoing a slow death due to their decision to sign player after player with 0 pedigree. We will not get either Cooper or Neil if the managers role is simply a coach . I.

doc m

1.) 16 Sep 2021 08:27:53
Don’t want any of them underperforming idiots, frying pan, fire.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 08:31:40
Alex Neil was at the game last night. Seems odd that he would come to watch dreary Wednesday game at the CG.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 09:34:47
Noooo! Please NO!

4.) 16 Sep 2021 10:35:23
With you perko, nooo nooo nooo to either. I would rather have clough and pearce. Now that would sort this lot out.

19 May 2021 15:22:08
The successful teams next session will have a nucleus of players who have played together at least one season before . So we have McKenna Worrall and maybe Lawrence Gabriel . So maybe a new left back. Midfield we have Yates and Cafu ( Cafu got a contract last season so someone thinks he is good ) . I guess Brennan Mighten to develop further. So we need a midfield dynamo plus a winger and a forward or two.

doc m

1.) 19 May 2021 20:59:54
We need a manager first I'm worried who he will bring in with his tactics.

2.) 19 May 2021 21:02:09
Cafu is a nowhere player. I simply cannot see where his strengths lie. He can't tackle can't head can't shoot, is slow, and his passing forward shocking. get rid.

3.) 19 May 2021 21:54:02
But apart from that, he’s a fantastic player 😂.

4.) 20 May 2021 06:39:18
Perko lol sometimes he did quite well just poncing around looking a little tidy. But when you wear gloves when there's a nip in the air and your meant to be gritty midfielder, you have to be special. Average with NO end product, we need much much better players.

{Ed014's Note - I thought for a minute there you were talking about Paul Pogba! 🤣

5.) 20 May 2021 11:00:14
Agreed Rutland, not good enough. Think he was given a two year contract aswell, who makes these decisions. He offers nothing.

6.) 23 May 2021 20:18:22
Apart from Garner the whole midfield are dross. Get rid of the lot and start again.

7.) 28 May 2021 22:18:41
Id still keep sammy for the bench. Don't care what you lot think. He can change a game, pass or shot. On little wages. Looks lazy and can be. But one of the only players apart from garner sadly i thought could change a game from midfield. Just saying.

8.) 29 May 2021 12:00:01
I’ve got no problem keeping ameobi Bowie, just wish he could unplat his feet and learn to cross a ball.

10 May 2021 21:58:08
Can no one in the FA see the stupidity of the current arrangements between the bottom of the premier league and the Championship. It is an utter disgrace that teams are allowed to yo yo between leagues whilst teams like Brentford have to fight in the playoffs. What's the betting that WBA and Fulham will be promoted next season!
Ed The parachute payments they got season before last surely they don't get again .

doc m

{Ed002's Note - They do indeed get them paid again and I agree the system is unfair and the money should be spread out differently but the argument is based on the disparity of income between the two divisions could adversely impact the relegated side - there have been a few examples of clubs falling away in the past.}

1.) 11 May 2021 09:51:36
I think clubs fall way because the chairman takes out after the visit to the prem.

2.) 11 May 2021 14:34:06
The parachute payments are too big and last for too long.

The way forward is to lower the size of the payouts and only one second year at a lower rate to give teams time to reduce their wage bill etc. The clubs will still have an advantage from being able to buy lotts of decent players when in the Prem but will have to release some.

Problem solved. Except it is the Prem clubs who vote on the rules, so they won't change.

3.) 11 May 2021 18:53:48
Surely relegation is there as a punishment for not being good enough, as for a club being adversely affected, clubs need to do what we the general public have to do to when we have financial difficulties, cut their cloth accordingly.

4.) 12 May 2021 11:15:40
If clubs didn't spunk tens of millions after promotion in a desperate attempt to stay in the promised land then they wouldn't need parachute payments. All parachute payments do right now is allow clubs to be more reckless when they go up. They need to be stopped or heavily reduced, especially since the introduction of FFP.

As said above, I can see WBA and Fulham being clear favourites to go straight back up.

5.) 12 May 2021 17:44:44
I think what's wrong as well is that the parachute payment doesn't count towards ffp. Basically a double bonus.

6.) 12 May 2021 18:40:38
It would be better if the parachute payments were put in a pot that was shared out between all of the Championship and the relegated Premier league clubs based on their relative league position with the clubs relegated from championship missing out.

The concentration of cash in the yo - yo clubs is getting worse and as everyone is saying the three favourite next season to go up will be WBA, Fulham and Shef United. And the rest of the clubs cannot compete financial because of FFP.

I am afraid if they don't fix this then the championship will become predictable just like the premier league.

But I don't expect this will change.

7.) 13 May 2021 06:50:53
The EPL should mandate relegation clauses in player contracts reducing/ capping salaries. Some would demand relegation release clauses but that's fair enough. Promoted teams would find it slightly harder to compete in the prem, but they could redistribute parachute payments and make the EFL more competitive.

8.) 18 May 2021 16:58:12

Why does Nuno persist in picking Domingues in a wing position. He is not a winger, and not a goal scorer. If at this critical stage in the season he cannot trust Jota Silva or Sosa, they should be sold. I appreciate HO is on the bench and does not want to play a full 90 minutes. It is not that we have any less players than any other premier team. The sad fact is beyond the first team ( Yates accepted ) Nuno has no one he can trust. Should senior players leave the club for sides who have qualified for serious football in that Championship, next season we will be fighting relegation.

doc m

1.) 18 May 2025 13:58:15
Great to see upbeat attitudes before kickoff ?.

2.) 18 May 2025 14:00:09
Doc m - unbelievable Jeff!
Can we not give players a chance to settle in and look to the future? Do you not understand that we aren’t Man City, Real Madrid or Barcelona and we cannot just sign quality prem class players.

We need to gamble on players like elanga, Murillo and Hudson odoi and sign others with potential to improve. Some will work out and some will fail. Anyone fingers crossed for today’s game and a positive finish for the season ?.

3.) 18 May 2025 15:22:04
Dom isn't playing as a winger though, we're playing a midfield 3 that are tucked in. A decent first half.

4.) 18 May 2025 16:41:55
Dominguez one of the hardest working midfielders we've got.

5.) 18 May 2025 17:35:20
2Tone I think you’re spot on.
Champions League brings big money in, but we ain’t there yet. (But it’s still a possibility)
So we duck and dive and take a chance on players.
Some you win some you don’t and some just need longer to settle in and get the right fit, then surprise, surprise you have a magician.
John Robertson remember him?
Played in midfield before Cloughie and Taylor came.
Turned out he was some winger.
Fantastic result today.
Fantastic season.

6.) 18 May 2025 19:11:22
I put on my players of season bsred, he overworks, full on. Needs to stand off opposition instead of full on. Looks frustrated,

17 May 2025 18:41:07
I hope MGW watched the FA cup final. Before he makes a decision he should speak to Grealish. A not too dissimilar footballer who has severely fallen out of favour at City and the England team under Southgate. Yet a talented player who was prepared to go forward and not sideways or back. To me anything other than the Champions league is a waste of time.

doc m

1.) 17 May 2025 19:56:30
I agree with you Doc and alluded to this in my post/ s last night. I just have a horrible feeling that Forest are trying to run before they can walk.

Maybe I'm over-thinking again - but I hope that we don't nobble ourselves for next season.

2.) 17 May 2025 20:37:15
So Peps sides play the way people deserve to watch according to him. Personally i think they are boring and predictable, tippy, tappy snoring ??. Bring on breaking at pace and commitment any day. ?.

3.) 18 May 2025 02:22:21
Look what's happened to Grealish and Foden playing Pep's sideways football. Both very good footballers who I'd love at Forest, obviously we couldn't afford them but they're wasted atm at City.

4.) 18 May 2025 11:35:25
Grealish foden and mgw are bang average. Look at their return on goals its not groundbreaking.

5.) 18 May 2025 13:58:29
Couldn't agree more Rutters ?.

6.) 18 May 2025 14:07:55
Foden is unplayable at times, I'd sell my left ball to have him here!

13 May 2025 16:40:19
Did you know one of the Leicester Subs was 15 and hit an amazing shot that just missed. The scorer of their second goal also a sub was 18 and is on loan from Brighton.

doc m

1.) 13 May 2025 17:03:03
Yes I posted that a few hours ago, don't you read previous posts?.

2.) 13 May 2025 18:39:09
There manager has the mind of a 3yr old, still beat us. Live with it?

3.) 13 May 2025 19:00:12
It was a draw?.

4.) 13 May 2025 19:02:08
Sorry their, and draw. Same age gap.

5.) 13 May 2025 19:24:48
You can actually use a draw in the same context mossy. Depends how ya look on it (clueless emoji) ?

6.) 13 May 2025 19:37:10
Who cares that point got us European football get over it with your drab comments.

7.) 13 May 2025 20:13:33
My lads team played a mix of u14/ u15 leicester academy n he was supposed to be playing, got pulled because man city were looking at him

Presume they massive over elevated him to 1st team to try n keep him from city

Back in the day psycho would've snapped him.

12 May 2025 07:31:24
The game changed for Leicester when they brought on two subs who both simply ran the Forest defence ragged and changed the game. Forests substitutions had zero impact.

doc m

01 May 2025 22:35:04
Aina was probably our best player. Not only defending but taking on and getting past defenders. Very good ball skills.
Sadly we need a new goal keeper. Sels is glued to his line. It happened against Man City and for both the goals tonight. He seems apprehensive of an injury. He never catches a ball outside the box.
Is Elanga the best dead ball specialist we have because he is not good
We have no impact players on the bench.
Should we not get in the champion league our better players MGW, Murillo will be snapped up.
Like other posts I cannot see us winning at CP with Mateta et al. It's worrying how they demolished AV. Some how we need to a clean sheet but I am worried about our general play.

doc m

1.) 01 May 2025 23:05:52
Seks is a shot stopper doc he doesn't and has never come for crosses, but we have been a solid unit defensively most the season
It's a collective tiredness now
If your honest we only have 15 or 16 players that can perform in the premier and we've been extremely lucky not to get injuries, but our back up players aren't good enough to beat the likes of exeter l, but that's where we are as a club.

2.) 02 May 2025 05:14:18
Doc m?
The only point I agree with is our bench.
Sels has been and will still be a brilliant keeper.

3.) 02 May 2025 06:14:22
Why replace a keeper who has THIRTEEN CLEAN SHEETS?,

DTP I am with you I am afraid, atm. Your point re Williams and Ania negating the need for HO and Elanga. These latter two not heading for the line to centre to Wood but cutting inside, is loosing us chances and therefore matches.

Sanghera cannot be any better than OBrien, yet he stays the other goes. Jota and Sosa have energy, as does Yates. Jota and Yates were all over. Sadly, it was in 90 mins when Jota and Sosa were brought on. Where was Morena?

The style of Nuno play is identical to last season. We were so lucky that 3 teams were poorer than ours. Surely all fans, Big M included, hope for a better season ie a mid table finish. I cannot presently see that happening.

Folks on this site see the issues. We are armchair critics with very little knowledge, only watching players and noting positive and negatives. However, these points are made as we want our team to do well.

Nuno is being given a chance, but with the current second and third teams next away, it is likely we will gain no more points and then Fulham. This season we have a much better and more skillful squad. Let’s hope Nuno sees what we see and didn’t think on Saturday we could win. So therefore, he played a defensive hand. We need a manager who looks forward not backward all the time.

I don’t think a young inexperienced manager such as Gerrard or Viera have any chance of saving Forest, infact it’s frying pan into the fire. Who did Crystal Palace replace Viera with a 70 yr old. We would be better with a Sam A, Harry, or Benitez.

I agree RHR. For a start Yates must play to man mark Palmer. Of course alongside Anderson and I agree if HO fit he must play. To be fair to Sangare he has been picked on merit and has begun to show why we paid a lot of dosh for him. This match is a crunch for Nuno. By that I mean he has to out wit his Chelsea counterpart. We have the players that can beat Chelsea, so he has the nouse to pick them, I hope.
The atmosphere will be electric for many reasons, all of which should inspire those wearing Garibaldi Red.
No more so than our own Yatesy who will get those who can swim, diving into the Trent.

As MU denied us both signings if Henderson and Garner. I want Spurs to win. However I am also wanting MU to beat AV on Sunday. The likelyhood of that happening is near nil!

Look at how far Spurs and United have fallen in the premier league yet face each other in the final of a European competition. You must then realise it’s a huge and expensive exercise to remote grounds and injuries. No one is saying we would have won the champions league but qualifying is a reward after a long season. Forest have come to a crossroads like other clubs but at the seasons critical end. Nuno has made mistakes but has achieved a good deal. By the end of the season I suspect Tottenham will have a new manager if they don’t win this European competition.
So let’s hope we regroup and try and beat West ham for starters.

Who knows what is the next chapter in our clubs history. This season should not be allowed to fizzle out. There cannot be insecurity for Nuno as this will be a trying 3/ 12 ie holding onto our best players ie MGW, Murillo and Aina. Then the near impossible task of attracting new players of quality. Anderson is a good signing of a young player with great energy and enthusiasm for the game. We are weak in midfield apart from him. Next few weeks will be critical, changing the manager seems a blood rush to the head of Big M. However it is his money.
