So apparently Hughton has been told to pack his stuff and go. Just 7 games too late. Now it's mission survive. Tough task for whoever comes in. They're inheriting a team with no confidence and still big gaps to fill in midfield and up top. The circus continues.

1.) 16 Sep 2021 03:47:37
Gazza the team isn't a bad one, Hughton been the problem, some of his tactics n game play are the worst I've ever seen. Whoever the next manager is I'm sure will give us a lift. I expected a lot more from Hughton, to be honest I'm pretty shocked on his all round approach.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 06:20:18
I agree, it's not a team that should be sitting bottom of the league, but there are problems that still remain. We don't have a striker that can score goals (BIG problem), and we don't have nearly enough creativity in our midfield (see Mr Yates and Garner for details) .

3.) 16 Sep 2021 08:16:33
No matter the manager you play for the shirt, the fans, the club. All this confidence talk is utter drivel. We have no leader on the pitch. Grabban as captain is an utter joke. Not once did he or any other player tear into the box to get on the end of low crosses or mishit shots. Worral, yates, garner can't pass and worral particularly was poor in every department. Has anyone ever seen grabban head a ball? Other than taylor heading a ball back for worrall i cannot remember us winning ariel duels. Lolley does sideways runs as he is bereft of pace. We simply have no engine in midfield. No drive with none getting beyond the striker. Yup the manager is responsible for the selections and set up and for that he is at fault, grabban and taylor together on paper won't work so why on the pitch. He should go now as that is expected but that performance and low level of committment is a disgrace. Some say we have a team capable of better. I doubt it, good footballers find a way.

4.) 16 Sep 2021 08:29:17
Yes Rutland.

01 Dec 2019 09:21:42
Wolves to make Lamouchi their number one target to replace Nuno if he leaves them. Forest need to support him in Jan.

GazzaRed

1.) 01 Dec 2019 20:06:09
Wouldn't worry about wolves Watford are on the look out now best get him signed up.

2.) 01 Dec 2019 21:30:14
Agree skeggs but he needs to take advice from red fred or he won't be a top manager🤔🤔🤔.

3.) 01 Dec 2019 22:27:16
Lol 79 lamouchi needs advice off no one just time to do is job and a great one he's doing so far.

29 Jul 2019 09:55:41
Do we need Ben Gibson or Scott McKenna? We already have 5 solid CBs at this level. Surely the money being touted for McKenna would be better spent on a striker and pacey winger.

GazzaRed

1.) 29 Jul 2019 11:26:46
In a word NO.
But our dof has got a thing about midfielders and defenders.
With Watson as the holding midfielder and relying on grabban as the only striker I'm afraid I fear for us this season.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 13:33:18
We need a left footed centreback. The system we have means our centre backs will be put under pressure. With a right footer on the left side it can cause mistakes. I also think 1 or 2 will be leaving.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 14:01:31
Our defence was woefully exposed in the second half by Real S. Couldn't get near the ball.
I think 2 or 3 of our center backs will be sold before the end of the window.

4.) 29 Jul 2019 14:02:35
Redtree we have one he's called Robinson.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 18:13:42
I think woefully exposed is a bit strong. I thought they did well against a very technical team.

26 Jul 2019 09:29:43
Forest accepted the Osborn deal after some of the add-ons in the initial offer were amended. Presumably Sheff Utd agreed to a higher sell on fee percentage.

GazzaRed

1.) 26 Jul 2019 09:51:41
Is that you LC?

2.) 26 Jul 2019 10:27:32
Why would that make the difference? Seems very strange. A higher bid being accepted would be understandable. Something else must have led to them accepting what is basically the same bid?!

3.) 26 Jul 2019 10:46:20
Of course add-ons make a difference.

May be that we get extra fees for the amount of games he plays next season, whether they stay up or not, or could just be an extra few percent on the sell-on fee.

Either way, it is an improved offer and not the same bid.

4.) 26 Jul 2019 11:08:48
"Not significantly raised their valuation of the player" so barely any improvement.

5.) 26 Jul 2019 11:33:05
A bit like Ben then TWF. Barely any improvement.

6.) 26 Jul 2019 12:25:23
Got mucked about by being played out of position at left back. Be interesting to see where Chris Wilder plays him. Or how Forest fare without him.

7.) 26 Jul 2019 13:10:01
Wilder likes players who are able to play in different positions. That's why he's signed Osborn.

8.) 26 Jul 2019 13:32:17
"more money up front and an improvement to potential future sell-on clauses"

So clearly an improvement.

9.) 26 Jul 2019 13:49:34
Judging by Wilders interview of Osborn, he will be used all over the pitch, very much like at forest.

10.) 26 Jul 2019 13:51:46
Undislosed amount on the Osborne sale so all the amounts being shouted about are pure speculation but if the local rag is to believed we turned down 3m but more likely to be arounf 3.5m to 4m but even they don't know definitely or ever will. But if that is correct then not a bad price for someone with 11 months left on his contract. Good luck to him for wanting to play in the Premiership.

11.) 26 Jul 2019 22:42:35
Company accounts will have to show it if it's of major interest, but the lad was going nowhere at forest and to be honest don't think he'll ever be a prem player.
Sheff utd are doing the right thing in getting proven championship players together for their season in the prem knowing full well if it ends in failure they have a squad capable of going straight back up.
Burnley did this and it brings stability to a club financially.

12.) 27 Jul 2019 15:11:26
Who cares? The money received is only as good as the new player coming in!

If it's Bostock then we will have a stronger line-up with him than lightweight Benny O.

People have very short memories. It was under the Breadman that our featherweight midfield of Osborn, Vaughan and McKay kept getting steamrollered.

These days you have be exceptionally gifted and quick of feet and mind to compete if you are small which is where Benny falls short!

13.) 27 Jul 2019 22:24:13
When was the last time you saw bostock play?
Your talking something similar 😁🤣🤣🤣.

23 Jul 2019 11:28:37
Shelf Utd have made an improved offer of 5m for Osborn. Surely now we sell. he's in the last year of his contract. A good lump of money to go towards a new striker.

GazzaRed

1.) 23 Jul 2019 11:34:17
£5million would be good business. I really can't see Osborn being anything more than a squad player if he stays put.

2.) 23 Jul 2019 11:54:39
If he goes, he gets my thanks for his efforts in the Garibaldi. Best wishes and hope we play the blunts in the PL next season. 👏.

3.) 23 Jul 2019 12:13:54
Best of luck to him, can’t deny him the chance to play in the PL and £5million is good business with only 12 months left on his contract. Just hope we spend it on another striker.

4.) 23 Jul 2019 13:08:10
Yes need a new striker even two. Sad to see a home grown player leave as we have so many times in the past!

5.) 23 Jul 2019 13:30:13
Taylor has just tweeted that the deal could be concluded within 24 hours.

Good to see Brice back in goal. I understand he has his critics but I saw enough from Horvath in the last game to know he isn't an improvement.

GazzaRed

1.) 18 Sep 2021 19:07:15
Gazza don’t write the yank off yet mate, he had a nightmare, but so did one or two others on Wednesday,

18 Sep 2021 18:30:33
Special mention to Steven Reid for having the bottle to change it up. And how nice was it to see a him smile in a post match interview. He speaks about football so much more intelligently than CH ever did.

I really hope he stays at the club because I think he's an asset. I can't believe Hughton was allowed to drag us down for as long as he did, truly awful football manager.

Anyway, onward and upward. I just hope the Cooper reign doesn't see us resort back to Hughton tactics.

GazzaRed

1.) 18 Sep 2021 18:49:20
Im with ya gazza 100% but hughton has left the building now. As a lot on here have said. Gentleman. let's not fire more bullets into a manager that is probably already dead. The man came to the club with ambition. Didn't work out. Myself for one was happy with his arrival. Sadly didn't work out. Good luck on your future hughton. And thanks for trying i say.

2.) 18 Sep 2021 22:09:15
I’ll second that Bowie as I was pleased to see Houghton come to our club, just a shame that it didn’t work out for him, no different to the 18 or so before him, I don’t like to see any Forest manager get the push, hope the next one can be the right one and get us up and running for the owners sake, clubs sake and for all our (the long suffering supporters sake, surely we are do a few seasons off good football and good fortune. The younger fans deserve to see better for there support of this club, I've seen it all, the young uns have seen nowt.

3.) 18 Sep 2021 22:21:58
Good post mate except for the fact you was pleased to see hughton.
He did to us what he did to Norwich?
Wasted season.

18 Sep 2021 12:01:08
So Steven Reid said he has spoke with Chris Hughton before todays game. What a joke. Hughton should have no influence over today's game what do ever, and it shows Reids professionalism that he will be in contact with a manager the club sacked literally days ago. I have no doubt they've built a good relationship but for CH to still be on the blower to our interim head coach is a joke and if I was Murphy, I'd be having words.

GazzaRed

1.) 18 Sep 2021 12:27:05
He probably asked permission to use "small margins and they were to big for us"🤣🤣🤣🎈.

16 Sep 2021 15:33:24
I see Blackstock shares my ideas. Give Chris Cohen until the end of the season.

GazzaRed

1.) 16 Sep 2021 16:06:07
Saw the Highlights on EFL earlier. thought Hovarth was desperately unlucky for the second goal. passing to their forward like that. especially us having dominated the whole game.
Also gutted for Grabban missing that sitter.
Then that shot just over the bar.
Well I have been up for work since 2 am 😴😴😴.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 17:00:26
Proud of ya rogie mate 👍 done them hours for years. Glad i'm out.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 17:38:24
Cheers mate. Doesn't get any easier.
🙄.

16 Sep 2021 10:13:33
Steven Reid taking charge on Saturday will be interesting. Did he have different ideas to Hughton that he will try to implement, or was he just as clueless and he'll play the same old same old.

We have to get behind him 100% and not expect that the results are going to start flowing immediately. We know the squad as it is isn't capable of challenging at the top. Hopefully he can steer us to mid table and we have a much better transfer window next summer.

Perko, just stating a fact. There piggy bank is empty so we have to try and attract a manager that is happy with that position. Not easy.

Far too late but we have 39 games now to turn this season around, and by that I mean avoid relegation. No manager can walk in to this club as it is and get us scoring goals for fun so there must be patience. But similarly to when Lamouchi was shown the door, all we wanted to see under CH was some sort of improvement, and that sentiment still remains. A change in style, some entertainment, get us out of reverse gear. CH will go down as one of the worst managers this club had ever had, but there's a big job ahead to get this club moving back in the right direction.

I've used the word "stifled" for a while now. That's exactly what he did. Shocking moment when he yelled at Spence for going forward. The man was a joke and I'm so glad we're finally shot of him. Come on you REDS!

GazzaRed

{Ed014's Note - amazed it took so long, he was bloody hopeless!
