According to local NEP, Lyle Taylor is in talks with us. Is he any good? How do you guys rate him? Bit concerned that he's 30 to be honest and think we should perhaps be looking at a younger striker.

1.) 14 Aug 2020 10:49:21
Good striker. Had a great season for charlton last season. Can be greedy at times but is certainly something that can be adjusted to his game.

I will be very happy if we sign him. 3 year contract done/
Ideally we’d sign Toney instead or get both. (Seen Grabban has been linked to a couple of clubs in Middle East, maybe these two in if he leaves)

2.) 14 Aug 2020 11:01:53
If lyle is greedy then he won't be playing alongside grabban who he himself is greedy and selfish😂.

3.) 14 Aug 2020 11:33:46
Not sure we can afford Toney or dealing with Barry Fry again! But agree he's type of forward we should have in to replace Grabban.

4.) 14 Aug 2020 12:28:05
Interesting to hear Peterborough interested in Tyler Walker as replacement for Toney. Has proved he can do well at that level maybe a loan to them and they can turn him into a 10m valued player 😀.

5.) 14 Aug 2020 16:45:44
How many seasons does a 30 year old striker have left in him? No more crocs.

6.) 14 Aug 2020 17:50:38
Sounds like terms agreed and medical today so looks like we will see bsered.

7.) 14 Aug 2020 18:26:01
Better than Chris Martin!?

8.) 15 Aug 2020 09:50:33
These days with their diets and fitness, strikers go on a lot longer, at least 3 more years from Taylor.

At 35 Teddy Sherringham scored 21 goals in 33 matches, Man Uniteds top scorer that season and won PFA and FWA Player of the Year too, not too shabby for an old boy.

I think Taylor is a great FREE signing for us if true.

9.) 16 Aug 2020 22:08:22
Teddy was an exceptional player, no comparison with taylor who has been a lower league journeyman coming to prominence with Wimbledon.
Ok as back up but don't get carried away he's a 20 goal striker at this level.

10.) 16 Aug 2020 23:54:27
The point was, you're not done at 30, Taylor contributes a lot to a team, not just scoring goals, ask any Charlton fan.

13 Aug 2020 18:50:35
Apparently we are taking a look at Jacob Murphy on loan, from the Toon. Might be worth a shot. And just for a change, Derby are keen too lol.

1.) 14 Aug 2020 11:35:07
Be better bet than Diakhaby I think/ hope.

2.) 14 Aug 2020 15:03:57
A traffic cone would be better than direkaby.

08 Aug 2020 09:48:35
Apparently we have gazumped Panathanaikos to the signing of Greek striker Ionnaidis. who has scored 5 goals in 20 appreances. Not sure about you lovely lot, but those stats do not fill me with any excitement. Thoughts?

1.) 08 Aug 2020 10:00:13
Wow he scored 5 in 20. In the Greek 2nd division

2.) 08 Aug 2020 10:08:11
Exactly. How many times have we been here before with interest in this sort of player. We need someone with experience in scoring goals, not someone relatively untried. Starting to get that feeling in my bones again, like when we sold Walker and did nothing with the cash or replace the player we sold.

3.) 08 Aug 2020 11:19:23
Typica of Forest trying to do things on the cheap.
Poor record for a poor player.
I wouldn't expect any decent signings but I would expect more dead wood and lightweight imports.

4.) 08 Aug 2020 12:22:07
Why buy him we have ayoung lad who's scored 48 in just over 90 games who don't get a game, be nice to see us play 2 strikers at home.

5.) 08 Aug 2020 13:29:21
Another Dud.

6.) 08 Aug 2020 13:53:09
Daft question. a mate from Sheffield reckons we have sold Cash?

7.) 08 Aug 2020 15:34:10
Cash is on holiday at moment. A fee might have been agreed but he won’t be an official signing for anybody for at least another week.

8.) 09 Aug 2020 21:48:25
Stats aren't great but he's only 20 and isn't the finished article yet. He's quick, strong and he can beat a man. Forest should be searching high and low for good youngsters anywhere they can. Having a bit of cash to spend on the right player is great. As a policy though it's completely unsustainable for a club like Forest. Nor is it a substitute for a
quality academy and quality scouting network. And what kind of 'fans' rubbish potential new young players when they've never even seen them play? Is that where we're at?

Not quite Forest, but Britt has gone to Turkey. sounds like for the money to me.

1.) 05 Jul 2021 12:14:32
It'll be for the gyros kebabs Chim 🎈.

2.) 05 Jul 2021 12:15:43
That’s close enough, because there’s bugger all news from Forest at the moment🙄.

3.) 05 Jul 2021 12:45:27
Another transfer sensation!
Jamie McCart a CB described as "Stunning". a massive 200,000 just might secure his services from Scottish giants St Johnston. fingers crossed eh?

30 Jan 2021 09:33:07
Predictions for today's game?

1.) 30 Jan 2021 10:05:03
2-1 Forest Grabban and Knockaert.

2.) 30 Jan 2021 10:44:50
At the moment he should be called Grabnowt. 🤣.

16 Sep 2020 08:20:11
Apparently Lamouchi has the backing of Forest and the board. That's him gone then 😆.

1.) 16 Sep 2020 13:53:32
Be the only good thing to come out of the board room for quite some time then .

11 Aug 2020 17:19:04
Breathe easy folks! The Greek Ionnaidis - the 5 goal striker - has signed for someone else. Rejoice. Lol.
In other news, great to see Colback, erm, back.

1.) 11 Aug 2020 17:51:14
Said this last week. A majority on here had their pitch forks out.

07 Jul 2020 10:34:06
How's about bringing Mighten on earlier tonight against Fulham? Ok, missed a relative sitter against the Rams, but he's got some class, and he's fast.

1.) 07 Jul 2020 14:49:29
I agree, he Is only young and l hope mentored by Grabban who if he had stayed on . Also Samba needs to punch the ball if it comes into the box as either he can’t catch or the Derby player fouled him ( possible )

Personally I'd jettison both Grabs and Taylor. One is past it and was pretty much awful last season. and the other, was just pretty much awful. Lol.

Yeah just heard it. Fed up to the back teeth of what we as a club have become: the last haven for those seeking a fat final payoff for their careers. I mean, who wants a 37yr old striker? And he ain't going to want to run and run at that age, just to get a glimmer of a chance at scoring: because our useless midfielders won't be able to cross it to him. that would be way too adventurous, and creative.
We will be the laughing stock of the Championship once more, and I can see all those young opposition players rubbing their hands together at our OAP of a team. CH, jog on.

Hip injury? Someone with a wooden leg could have scored that sitter the other week! Lol.

Da Costa was by far the WORST player on the pitch Saturday. Bloody awful, can’t name one thing he did that was good.

I have a sinking feeling, that we will be way too late in the market to get anyone of any note, capable doing a job for us. But, as Forest fans, we really should be used to this by now, shouldn't we? Here we go again.

Ed: exactly. He was blowing out his *rse when he was subbed. I reckon he's injured, but they've kept it quiet as it may influence the opposition.

{Ed014's Note - really should be giving the Everton lad, Calvert-Lewin a chance.

Kane is miles off it

FF79: My son watched the match abs said it was EXACTLY the same as watching last seasons forest. Dour, sideways, backwards from advanced positions up the pitch, no creativity, slow in playing the ball. Houghton MKII is Southgate.

Stevie F: not as good as the elite teams? We have a national squad made up of players from what is frequently bandied about as the best league in the world. Surely, with this being the case, shouldn't we have the top, most elite team in this tournament? We were terrible. and have been for decades. No bite as usual. No creativity, as usual. Strutting around like we've a given right to win every time the players step out on to the field. Southgate couldn't win an argument with himself, let alone an international tournament like this.

Whilst the Three Lions on our shirt certainly do roar a hell of a lot, they've lack any bite for donkey's years.
