Heard a strange rumour, now I've heard this same one from two different toon fans. So neves is off to saudi. Now when there they loan him to Newcastle, which keeps the toon fair play better the saudis pay his wages but the toon pay a loan fee? Don't get me wrong we probably do it with the olympiacos. But the whole thing stinks for me. Again just a rumour.
1.) 28 Jun 2023 13:02:32
Bowie I hope the Saudi league takes off and shrinks the stinking money available to the premier league.
2.) 28 Jun 2023 16:50:11
Keep your head on Rutland…….
3.) 30 Jun 2023 15:47:02
In the main, the Saudi league will be full of second-rate South Americans, greedy Africans and past-it Europeans, with one or two exceptions.
It was said in the 90's that the MLS would rock the football World, it was said in the 00's that China was going to buy all the World's best players. Now it's the Saudi's turn to fantasise about creating the World's number one league.
It will never, ever have the same gravitas as the big European leagues. It's just doesn't have the history or tradition and I doubt it ever will.
Wouldn't mind seeing Dennis move there for £20mil though. They can have Shelvey on a free too :)
4.) 30 Jun 2023 18:58:36
Always love your posts wonky son, keep em coming. Your knowledge is unreal at times. i remember a while ago saying you were unfortunate not to be able to get to games. Hopefully the change will come my friend. And your music background wasn't too bad too. Take care for now. Rutters you can't have any complaints on your golf with the summer greens mate. Hope you've enjoyed this green and pleasant land which so many of us take for granted. ??.
5.) 30 Jun 2023 20:37:05
Indeed bowie and the fishing has been fantastic too.
6.) 02 Jul 2023 10:47:54
Fishing. Now that is ? boring.
03 Oct 2022 22:37:38
I called on rafa Benitez to be next forest manager. Just seen on forest site he's been talked about. ? told ya balloons ?
1.) 05 Oct 2022 11:15:29
He wants Wolves not us sez it all.
26 Jul 2022 14:55:18
As i messed up with loan to buy. i'm old school i still think players have there studs checked for aluminium. Before the get on the pitch. Can someone please explain (pay as you play) surely this isn't as it comes over. How much does a player get if they don't get a game ED could you enlighten me please ?
{Ed002's Note - Such contracts are rare and typical comprise a. a low base payment, b. an "availability" payment, c. an additional payment for being selected.}
1.) 27 Jul 2022 00:17:04
Pay to play gets mentioned a lot Bowie, but I honestly can't remember anyone being signed in the Prem (or anywhere) on this sort of deal for a long time now.
It was normally for players at the end of their career/ injury prone.
2.) 27 Jul 2022 10:39:16
Yea, pay-as-you-play is a bit old fashioned but I think what people mean is, they'd prefer to see a player like Ramsey offered a performanced-based deal, rather than a high basic wage every week.
So instead of offering him £100k a week, you might offer £50k a week, plus bonuses for appearances, goals, and team wins etc. which might total £100k if he's playing and performing.
No one wants a croc on the books at £100k a week.
03 Apr 2022 15:03:23
Rumours on Newcastle wanting brennan for 50 million. Crazy not to . i know its only rumours but surely he's worth more than 20 mil.
1.) 03 Apr 2022 17:18:04
Think it’s more that they want 50 miilion for maximon which would free up money for them to try and get Brennan. So not 50 million but would put the price up a certain amount 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸.
2.) 04 Apr 2022 12:52:51
I think in Johnson and spence we have gold on our hands. I think, even if we fail to go up this season then Forest need to think bigger picture with holding on to Johnson and pushing the boat out to get spence. It’s around these two that building for the future will be massive for confidence and attracting the quality needed to maintain that big push.
3.) 14 Apr 2022 02:10:31
Without promotion we have zero chance of signing spence would need a bid of around 20 Mill we just don't have that money.
27 Jan 2022 08:28:48
Carvalho in for his medical today, good luck in the future, spending our cash.
1.) 27 Jan 2022 18:24:03
I'm curious that we must have some attack minded players coming in as taylor and carvalho going out leaves us a little short if we pick up injuries and suspensions.

Myself I have no confidence in this forward line, midfield without Anderson, (I know and agree) gone and have to go on. But he was one of the only midfielders to not only break up attacks, but could play a decent ball through. The flanks show nothing, the coaching, set pieces etc. pathetic. Is it me or do you lot really think Glasner can change this lot.
Big M obviously hoping so. Reds yes I come over negative and I swear. Apart from family and friends I live Forest. Only want the best. Yet I see a struggle with goals and working as a team. Gonna be hard getting this dressing room together. Shoot away. My opinion.
1.) 05 Aug 2026 18:56:20
You watch, MGW will pull himself either side of the flanks because of his workrate and insecurity with them. Hope Aina does stay fit. As he has strength, can dribble and put a half-decent cross in. Hutchinson needs to up his game, loads. Williams will work 110% as per. (One of our only chances of a goal from back.) Sangare needs the same.
Last 3rd of the season useless. Hope and know Wood will work for the badge. Hudson needs to try changing his play. Happy defending for me. Jesus, I hope learnt a lot from last season. Don't get me wrong, the laddie tries, but just not Premier.
2.) 05 Aug 2026 19:01:09
Well, Bowie, to be honest, I agree with you.
Only time will tell regarding Glasner.
New players are definitely needed ASAP, otherwise what's the point of hiring Glasner on false presences?
3.) 05 Aug 2026 19:23:42
I have faith in the lads because...
? "And the shame was on the other side (Fester or Derby, take your pick)
Oh, we can beat them for ever and ever
Then we could be heroes
Just for one season
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
Just for one season
We can be heroes." ? ?
4.) 05 Aug 2026 19:28:42
At least that was what Major Tom told City Ground control. ?
5.) 05 Aug 2026 19:35:27
I have the royalties winter, along with so ta bed. ? Just looking for a Starman up front. And Jean Genie from a lamp.
6.) 05 Aug 2026 20:10:14
You will remember, Bowie, how appalled I was at both the fact of VPs sacking and the disrespectful and classless manner in which it was done by Mr M.
He had the team purring, organised, playing some great football and scoring for fun. He instilled great team spirit and was charismatic. He got the fans onside as well, I thought he'd earned another season at the very least, mate. Or, as I and a few others put it, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"....
The jury is out on OG. I said at the time of his appointment he only came to us because he'd burnt his bridges at Palace and didn't get one of the "big" jobs at Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool.
I hope I'm proved wrong...
As for Ando, we had plenty of warning that he was off and we should have had replacements lined up and oven ready instead of all this messing around....
As you rightly say, it doesn't look good atm, sadly.
7.) 05 Aug 2026 20:24:19
As a reminder to everyone, I said at the end of last season we wanted 3 things, and they were stability, stability and stability!
I also said we wanted no more than 3 or 4 signings maximum. A replacement for Ando, a beefing up of our goalkeeper department, and a centre forward to replace Woody.
(We may get away with the latter if Taiwo keeps performing as he is doing.)
Perhaps a ball-playing centre back to cover for Murillo's injury, and because OG likes to play 3 at the back.
Of that wish list, so far, we have Schlager on a freebie... with just over 2 weeks to go before the season starts.
8.) 05 Aug 2026 20:25:20
Great reply Stokey, bud, and couldn't agree more on VP. ?
9.) 05 Aug 2026 21:05:17
As for the Star Man up top... I'm fairly optimistic that Big Taiwo is looking strong, fit and hungry. He looks like the type of forward that needs love. If OG backs him, he could easily get back the form we saw when he first came in. ?
10.) 05 Aug 2026 21:42:30
Oh dear, Arsenal are in big trouble. They lost 3-1 to Real Betis tonight in a friendly. Maybe their owner should invest in some new players. ??? It's the end of the world, I tell you. ??? We love Mr M. ?
11.) 05 Aug 2026 21:44:30
And p.s. Who was the Geordie we sold for 116 million? This time next season, we won't remember him, and Man City will be wanting to sell him for 40 million. ?????
12.) 05 Aug 2026 21:58:32
Wow Skegs, bit weak that one, bud. The laddie fought till the end for us, even going through his hardest time. Cmon.
13.) 05 Aug 2026 22:22:02
Bowie, don't make it out that he's some sort of saint. We all lose loved ones, and I'm afraid we still all have to carry on working, that is life. Forest was just a stepping stone to him to get to the big time, which he's done, he's now a Man City player.
So I've well and truly moved on. Good luck to the lad, but he won't do anything there, just like Johnson with Spurs and Elanga with Newcastle. ? Judas.
14.) 05 Aug 2026 22:52:09
Or maybe let's put it another way, you said you've worn a Forest shirt all your life, supported them, invested money and time in them. And tomorrow you slip on a Man City shirt and start supporting them. What would you like me to say, thanks for being a Forest fan for decades and investing money in them, well done. ???? Or Judas.
15.) 05 Aug 2026 23:02:26
Erm, you've lost me, Skegs. Just leave it.
16.) 05 Aug 2026 23:55:44
So, Skegs, in your first statement you admit you loved Ando? As did/do we all. Fantastic player who gave his all for the club. Now he moves on to better things, which, in honesty, we all wish for our beloved. ?
17.) 06 Aug 2026 06:45:29
Yes, he's moved on, RRH. So have I, that's all I'm saying. He's a Man City player now. Let's move on with the players that play for Forest.
18.) 06 Aug 2026 07:59:28
Ando was a brilliant player for the Reds, he's moved on with his career and we wish him well. However, getting the dream move might not be right for his career! Look at Calvin Phillips, Jack Grealish, both went to City, but it didn't work out. Now, is it Noorgaard? He went to Arsenal, which hasn't worked out, so he's now gone to Everton.
Chelsea have brought in a lot of players, as have Spurs, Man Utd and Arsenal. It remains to be seen if it works out, or will these players be sitting in the stands watching!
19.) 06 Aug 2026 10:14:14
I agree, when players move on, so do we move on. Anderson will always be remembered for what he did at Forest, but that chapter has ended. People think we can just sign our previous players and get the best out of them when they have failed elsewhere. Elanga, Jonson, Garner have all moved on; Garner is the only one to have shown the potential that they had with us. The reason Anderson's replacement was not identified, I believe, is EM was looking for a different manager, and it seems, according to reports, that OG is identifying targets.
The GK department is light. It's good to see Taiwo looking back to his very best. The most important thing this season was to keep Williams, Sangare and MGW. I still believe we will make 3 signings before the start of the season.
20.) 06 Aug 2026 10:47:18
Good post, Cyprus.
21.) 06 Aug 2026 12:09:44
Diaomonde deal will be done today. Glasner will have his man. And, hopefully, that will shut some of the moaners up for a bit. ?
22.) 06 Aug 2026 12:35:37
Of course it will, Stella boy. ??
01 Aug 2026 17:19:30
Wood probably lost a yard, bless him. Still a legend for me, and still be used for height.
Jesus needs a yard and cannot be reliable for height.
Leaves us mgw to score.
Bottom half struggle for me. Unless Glasner had this lot training at Hogwarts over the summer.
Come on the lot of ya, face it.
1.) 01 Aug 2026 17:37:55
Always an optimist, me mate.
Otherwise, no point.
2.) 01 Aug 2026 17:44:05
Living the Jesus dream. ?
3.) 01 Aug 2026 18:05:12
"I Dooooon't Beeeeliiieve It!!!!"
Myself either, mate, DTP!!!!.
???
???
4.) 01 Aug 2026 18:36:32
Nothing negative at all dtp, optimism isn't a belief that things will automatically get better, it's a conviction that things can get better.
5.) 01 Aug 2026 18:42:08
We will do well this season, mate.
6.) 01 Aug 2026 19:00:30
What is this side lacking that the one that qualified for Europe had?
I think the squad is better now.
7.) 01 Aug 2026 19:02:59
I'm with Bowie on this.
Not keen on Glasner's formation with the current players.
No out-and-out wingers, and you're missing a lot of goals from the team.
Williams and Aina hardly prolific with their shooting, and inconsistent with their crosses.
Yes, we had Europe to contend with, but this same group of players struggled for consistency last season, and were near the bottom for the majority of the season.
In answer to Cyclist's question of who we are missing from the side that qualified for Europe, an on-fire Elanga and Anderson.
8.) 01 Aug 2026 19:20:40
We aren't playing low-block counter-attack, so Elanga is irrelevant now. Anderson will be missed. We do have some decent midfielders. One more, and I'm not so worried.
If Glasner is as good as people are saying, we'll do well this season.
The squad is not bad.
We are a wing-back and midfielder short, though, for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if we spend on an attacker, it will be someone who can play across the front line, unless a really good number 9 becomes available.
9.) 01 Aug 2026 19:31:01
First defeat in pre season and it's the end of the world for Nottingham Forest.
10.) 01 Aug 2026 19:33:33
Ismailer Sarr scored 21 goals for Palace last season, with 9 coming in the league.
A very similar player to Elanga, quick and direct.
They relied heavily on him in Glasner's system.
We definitely need another wing-back and midfielder, like you say.
11.) 01 Aug 2026 19:40:03
It's probably coming though, Fred?
12.) 01 Aug 2026 19:45:46
Hopefully, mate.
I've no doubt Glasner is a top manager, and delighted we've got him.
I'm just concerned about our players adapting to his system, when we've always played and been so dependant on wingers.
13.) 01 Aug 2026 19:46:55
All Glasner is doing is giving game time to every player to evaluate who he wants in his squad.
Results are irrelevant in preseason, and I have not seen a club play two in one day before.
Just saying.
14.) 01 Aug 2026 19:56:48
Think the World Cup has got in the way of signings, Fred?
Other than Spurs, not a lot happening, but these are multi million deals and have to be right.
If I were a Newcastle supporter, I'd be seriously worried. Is all I can say.
15.) 01 Aug 2026 20:26:10
World Cup definitely got in the way, even though players were in the shop window.
We've done ok in pre-season up until yesterday, but try telling the ones that were up in arms last season, when we barely scored a goal, that it doesn't matter. ?
16.) 01 Aug 2026 20:44:10
Comrs to basics Fred, "Find me a natural goalscorer apart from Wood, who's actually applied for PIP?"
17.) 01 Aug 2026 21:05:24
We did ok, once Dyche left, scoring goals, Bowue.
18.) 01 Aug 2026 21:21:38
Yes Hudson, one trick pony, Aina, more sick notes than Peter Sutcliffe. Sangare lost the plot in the 2nd half. It was never about scoring, dtp. But survival. The defence did an amazing job. Simples, bud.
19.) 01 Aug 2026 21:27:42
I'm not in the least bit worried about the season coming.
20.) 01 Aug 2026 21:46:26
Dtp, im here ta love them, not to punish. All my posts are from my heart. ?
21.) 01 Aug 2026 22:00:12
Please don't take this the wrong way but what have you actually seen to come to this conclusion?
I've seen nothing to be worried about
Newcastle have lost all their best players plus the coach reseigning, now that's when you start worrying
Other than spurs not many sides have added to their squads
Like iv'e said world cup got in the way of transfers
30 Jul 2026 21:11:06
An early so ta bed.
Lot of ya will know it's my way of putting a point over, years now.
Anyway, for me, as soon as a coach/manager f*** knows what they are called these days. Gets hold of the dressing room, they are sacked.
Why, why, why. Do we do it? Or he.
Just frustrating. Not saying he may be best coach. But when you've got 3/4 of dressing room wanting to work for ya. Why get rid. Again my opinion like to hear yours?
1.) 30 Jul 2026 21:26:48
It's never been much different, Bowie.
One side wins it, the rest make the league up, no matter how good.
30 Jul 2026 15:16:32
Eddie Howe away ?.
1.) 30 Jul 2026 17:47:25
Best club in the by 2030. Not if they get rid of their best manager in the last 50 years, then effectively asset strip the club's best players. ?
2.) 30 Jul 2026 17:53:17
Best club in the world**. ?
21 Jul 2026 22:18:51
And so ta bed.
A lot of ya know how much I hate the premier greed, arabs and sky raping the grass roots.
Speaking of which, myself always loved to see an academy player making a stand.
As for going forward, sadly we ain't got to taylor with his magic wand.
Only an owner with an open wallet.
Like every team in the premier, you pay you take your chances.
We got anderson offloaded a greek dud.
Doesn't matter, we will all be there tomorrow and next. FTID COYR.
1.) 22 Jul 2026 23:17:13
A Greek dud, indeed, Bowie.
So Anderson actually cost us 15 million.
2.) 23 Jul 2026 11:27:17
When you look at it like that, maybe our big Greek owner knows what he's doing. I mean 100m pure profit. Not bad when some here can't say one good word about him. ?
3.) 23 Jul 2026 12:36:31
It was a great bit of business, RRH. Recognised the Geordies were in a spot of FFP difficulty, and needed a bail out quick. Plus remember Ando, though highly regarded, wasn't getting much game time. Plus we got rid of a real Greek dud, the goalkeeper.
15 Aug 2025 22:43:59
Still up for Charlton brothers me.
12 Nov 2024 17:58:33
Thing is he's got to lot better chance of playing of showing himself off at the city ground.
30 Jun 2023 18:58:36
Always love your posts wonky son, keep em coming. Your knowledge is unreal at times. i remember a while ago saying you were unfortunate not to be able to get to games. 17 Dec 2022 23:17:38
Well if it was yates nutting obrien none of us would believe it ??
30 Nov 2022 19:08:26
Good call that cyclist mate ?
12 Aug 2026 17:50:12
I mean how many players and refs do we call Helen hunts stokey. Get your head outta your arse. Being pompous.
12 Aug 2026 17:59:21
From all the negatives on here, why, oh why would ya want rid of Yates. F****** joke. And I'd actually give Abbott another go.
12 Aug 2026 17:39:13
Name them ?
12 Aug 2026 17:42:03
Rather have an audience with Chubby Brown at the Skinners Arms. Is it just me? ?
08 Aug 2026 20:13:12
Proud of ya both, my friend, hence the diamond. ?
