Forest are linked with Norwegian striker Bjorn Johnsen of AZ Alkmaar in Holland.

Folks are already moaning at his mediocre goal scoring record for AZ (7 goals in 25 games last season), but most of his appearances where from the bench, his goals to minutes ratio is quite good! - A goal every 142 minutes (approx. a goal every 1.5 games) . Not too shabby considering he's not playing regularly. He's also scored 5 goals in 13 caps for Norway.

He's 6' 4" and should offer a different option for us. I think he might be worth a punt, personally.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 18 Jul 2019 14:29:42
Bit like Murphy then.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 14:32:21
Sounds a bit like Lars veldwijk enough said, we shouldn't be looking to take a punt we should be looking for a proven striker at this level.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 14:45:23
Proven strikers at this level cost a minimum of 10 million. Easier said than done! We don’t really need a prolific goal scorer we need someone different to Grabs. If we get the right type of striker to hold up play, run the lines, set up our midfielders it would be perfect.

4.) 18 Jul 2019 15:47:37
Neil maupay at brentford had probably worse stats than this guy at st ettien in france he only scored 1 goal in 15 games. At nice he scored 6 goals in 44 but now for brentford he's one of the best strikers in the championship so this guy could be worth a punt.

5.) 18 Jul 2019 18:11:28
Depends how much they want for him. At 27 should be at his peak. Been at hearts so should speak English at least!?

6.) 18 Jul 2019 18:29:45
Why is it when a player from a given country turns out to be no good, all players from that country are said no good with some people.

7.) 18 Jul 2019 18:43:35
If he has the character and commitment of "Alfie" Haarland then he will do for me!

OBE saw the potential and got the best out of him.

If we have a decent coach and he is the "right type" then his stats are meaningless if played to his strengths? We need a brute of a hold up centre forward to get our creative "girls in the backs" to fire and score!

8.) 18 Jul 2019 19:21:33
We have had some very good Scottish players, how about some Scottish players to come in red.

9.) 18 Jul 2019 19:49:44
Bottom line though red it's all its and buts.
We can manage to sign shed l8ads of midfielders that aren't good enough or we don't need but bring in crap strikers sporadically and get rid in quick time because they are what it say on tin, crap 🤔.

10.) 18 Jul 2019 22:33:14
What about Sturridge - free agent now. He might be worth a punt. He'd tear this league up!

11.) 19 Jul 2019 00:25:59
Yea right on over 100 grand a week not a chance of getting him please tell me u was joking.

12.) 19 Jul 2019 02:54:43
Of course I was joking :-) - But he is the sort of player we need though.

13.) 19 Jul 2019 09:48:42
Redinexile clough didn’t sign haaland frank clark did.

14.) 19 Jul 2019 12:11:38
Wot I would say is a good coach can make a crap player look fantastic, we have had a lot of players leave in the past then turned out to be great elsewhere. If they play to there strengths it builds confidence and belief, we haven’t had that since Billy Davis era.

15.) 19 Jul 2019 12:42:19
Yes, you could say he is a bit like Darryl Murphy. Except for a few key points.

1. He's 9-years younger than Murphy and not well past his peak. So he'll probably retain some sell-on value instead of investing in a player who's about to swap his boots for a pipe and slippers.
2. He's not a statue like Murphy, he's at his physical peak and should still have a lot more pace and dynamism than Murphy. Not just a static No9 who struggles to play more than once a week.
3. He'll probably want considerably less in his wage packet than Murphy is currently on. I'd imagine DM is on well over £20k a week, BJ should be well under.

Other than that though, yes, he's identical to Murphy.

16.) 19 Jul 2019 13:04:46
Language not an issue as I believe he's American/ Norwegian, raised in the USA.

17.) 20 Jul 2019 12:29:00
Stevie. Cloughie scouted him in 1992 but he did not join until Frank Clark joined in 1993!

12 Dec 2018 11:14:59
Ryan Yates is being linked with a £500k bid from Portsmouth.

Hull City also linked with a loan move for the player.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

24 May 2017 20:41:29
Forest linked with Arsenal's young Polish defender Kristian Bielik.

Made 10 appearances at the end of last season on loan at Birmingham City and Arsenal will be looking to loan him out again next season for some first-team exposure.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 24 May 2017 20:48:59
I am sure he would be an asset but we cannot play 2 20 year olds together at centre back if we are to challenge? He can play as a holding midfielder as well so that might be an option if he has the legs?

2.) 24 May 2017 20:54:31
Same site is linking us with an assortment of poor players.
Hope they are wrong, joe garner another one, please no;

3.) 24 May 2017 22:58:33
Not sure we need any more strikers but Garners all action, tough style of play could give us something different and prove a good foil for our less physical players, no defenders like to play against this type of dog with a bone never say die attitude .
Wouldn, t pay a lot for him or pay him a fortune but at the right price could be someone who, d respond to the current management.
CARLO.

4.) 24 May 2017 23:25:28
Paid a million last time and he gets booked more than he scores .
All action and no quality
Scored most of his goals for carlisle and preston at league one and two level.
Thats his level.

5.) 25 May 2017 15:14:49
Correct mate. We cannot afford to get it wrong this time round, reckon we need a proven Championship, no nonsense, CB, a bit of bite in midfield, we haven't anyone in those positions that makes the opposing side think twice about taking us on.

6.) 25 May 2017 15:47:56
Thing is rogie, we need players who can improve the squad and are better than we have.
I see nothing in Garner, Waghorn, Tavanier and Mckay that would improve us and none of them are good enough to hold down a regular place.
Need some midfielders and couple defenders that's all, no more strikers.

7.) 25 May 2017 18:51:53
Agreed mate. Don't think we're that far away. Bit of self belief, i.e. Ipswich game, and who knows where it can take us. 🤔🤔🤔.

8.) 25 May 2017 19:47:08
If you see nothing in Garner then where does that leave Jamie Ward who did so much in the Ipswich game, very similar two players, always in your face .
CARLO.

9.) 25 May 2017 20:17:05
Garner has been tried at this level twice and failed miserably.
Hardley scored for us and only managed 6 goals for preston in the championship before rangers paid 1.8 million for him, where he's scored 7 in Mickey mouse football.
His goals come at league 1 level.
Wardy has a bit more about him.

10.) 25 May 2017 20:23:34
Garner is not as versatile as Ward and has not cut it in the Championship. Wardy all day long for me.

Garner would do a fantastic job at The Pies!

11.) 26 May 2017 06:19:05
If ya want and ex forest player who can get in your face and put the effort and score only a few goals why don't we get simon cox back Carlo?
Fact is both aren't good enough for this league that we aren't in and they would be reserve players at best. ward is also far better than garner.
If we start buying some of the player from rangers then next season will be a bigger struggle than last.

12.) 26 May 2017 09:52:10
I'd have a punt bringing Dawson back, experienced in this league and solid.

13.) 26 May 2017 16:05:41
Could not afford his wages! Be a good signing thought.

14.) 26 May 2017 17:24:52
You forgot to add expensive .
CARLO.

Forest have taken young goalkeeper, Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu, on trial from Charlton Ath.

The talented young goalkeeper, also being watched by Leicester City, is an English-born Nigerian who has chosen to represent his African roots at International youth level.

17 Jul 2015 16:54:42
Forest are apprently in the running for Hertha Berlin striker - Sandro Wagner - with Hull City, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday as competition.

Wagner still has a year left on his contract in Germany so unless they're going to let him go for free I can't see how we can compete. Decent striker, even though he never quite cut it in the Bundesliga.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 18 Jul 2015 08:16:03
Scored three goals in the last ten years. Just what we need.

2.) 18 Jul 2015 09:49:47
He once was at Bayern München, decent striker but never got the chance to shine in Berlin - would be worth a go and is going to be released by Hertha. That is what I said a year ago - raid the German lower tiers or out of favour players of the Bundesliga. Wagner never scored many goals in Germany but it is a huge difference playing against Bayern or Dortmund or in the case of Forest - against Rotherham and Derby ;-)

Could rip Championship defences apart. Looking forward to seeing him in a forest shirt

3.) 18 Jul 2015 12:28:40
We have enough strikers who two in two seasons

Defended well for 60-70 minutes against a good side, away from home.

Once the 2nd and 3rd went in Sabri brought on some kids for the experience and the side fell apart.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Most of the Forest side were 2nd string or kids, playing against some of the best young players in the country, plus Ozil, Tierney, Bellerin etc.

Bigger fish to fry on Friday.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 25 Sep 2019 12:32:08
The biggest disappointment for me was we weren't set up to even try and get a result, no striker and no strength in midfield.
Would have thought it better to play as we do normally and changing personell to suit.
We looked a mess all over the park and the goalkeeper has to be sent back.
We couldn't win or keep the ball and when you do that you get a thrashing which is what we got and what we deserved from the way the team was set up.
We will see a different side and formation on Friday and I'm confident of a win and promotion this season so long as a lesson was learnt last night that we can't revert to lightweight midfielders and Silva and carvalho can't and mustn't play together.

2.) 25 Sep 2019 15:17:12
I don't think Lamouchi set the team up to be that dreadful, F79. I'm sure he thought he had a plan and it just didn't work out. He'll probably be the first to say he got it wrong.

He's a brave Manager that's not afraid to make a change here or there, either as a strategy against a certain opponent or even in the middle of a game. He won't always get it right but so far he's getting more right than wrong. I'd rather have this brave, flexible approach than the one-dimensional 'Plan-A Only' approach we've seen from previous coaches, like Warburton and Karanka.

Not arguing or disagreeing with what you've said, mate, just trying to offer some positive spin! Let's hope he get's it right on Friday.

3.) 25 Sep 2019 21:18:18
He'll get it right Friday without a doubt but like I said that side couldn't score and was too lightweight and had no leader or captain material on the pitch.
I'm very confident we will get promoted this season provided we keep grabs fit till Jan and sign a good back up striker or two.
Also important to keep dawson fit as he's the leader we must have on the pitch.

People moaning about rotation is doing my nut in.

PM is doing a great job so far, we've recruited well and we're playing an entertaining brand of football. Rotation is one of his policies and let's not forget we're in a period of playing 8 games in little over a month (Sept 11 - Oct 14) , so rotation is probably a shrewd move at the moment.

We've not even made it to Christmas and a lot of fans are moaning and criticising, which to me is ludicrous. Let PM get on with it and enjoy the entertainment for once.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 19 Sep 2016 15:33:47
Rotation is fine if you've got a real need but at the moment PM needs to establish his 1st choice 11. He, like any good manager should always pick his best team and if that's not possible make the odd change. 5/ 6 changes every game is not going to work. Players that play together build understanding and work as a team. At this moment in time that isn't happening. I'll just mention 2 teams, Barnsley/ Huddersfield. Same team the majority of the time. Tell me we are not as capable as those 2?

2.) 19 Sep 2016 15:36:03
Most of the so called rotation is due to injuries.

3.) 19 Sep 2016 15:37:22
I meant to add also, Ranieri at Chelsea was constantly tinkering. Ranieri at Leicester wasn't. The difference = Champions but more importantly a team. It's quite simple really.

4.) 19 Sep 2016 17:08:17
I reckon the rotation policy will settle down a bit more when a) we have fewer injuries and b) we emerge from the frantic first few months of the season.

Most months of the season only contain 4-5 games but with the League Cup and international windows the opening few months are always hectic - Seven games in August and six games in September is quite hard going. 14 games in 57 days is a game every 4 days!

5.) 19 Sep 2016 18:20:43
It's doing my nut in because most of the rotation has been down to injuries/ suspensions. Also with all the new players that have come in towards the end of the transfer window, how on earth is he suppose to know so soon who his best 11 are. Hats off to PM, doing a great job!

01 Jul 2016 17:18:52
Floyd Ayite has signed for Fulham so that one is out of the picture. Shame, looked a promising link.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

19 Apr 2016 10:26:28
Lars Veldwijk attracting interest from China.

Could be an early Christmas present for Forest, the Chinese usually pay good money (usually over the odds) and we could get shot of a player that, for one reason or another, has not been a success.

Even just £3-4m would be nice.

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 19 Apr 2016 13:06:21
be lucky to get 3/ 4 million let alone 3-4 million.

2.) 19 Apr 2016 13:26:13
If they offer 300 to 400k I would snatch their hands off!

3.) 19 Apr 2016 13:44:46
Ok, maybe just £1-2m would do it :)

4.) 19 Apr 2016 13:53:24
I'd take 500k and reinvest on youth.

11 Apr 2016 16:11:52
According to social media and various other NFFC forums there is a planned 75th minute 'walk-out' in the offing for tonight's game v Brighton and HA.

Not only is it bad timing but it also seems a bit mis-directed. What are we protesting exactly? Is it clear? Not to me it's not and it's a terrible idea anyway. This kind of things need a clear objective and needs to be planned properly. Too soon for me.

Anyone in favour?

SteveSuttonsWonkyEye

1.) 11 Apr 2016 16:51:45
I ain't stoppin that late!

2.) 11 Apr 2016 16:58:11
Be better if everyone turned their backs @46 mins/ stroke of half time because that's the same number of mins as points collected.
Should keep them turned until everyone had left the pitch too.

Don't think it's protest time to be fair. We always knew this season was going to be garbage but it's no excuse for some of the football that's been played and maybe that's a good enough reason for some.

No ones happy apart from those who got paid to produce such rubbish.

A point a game ain't good enough after four years of so called building and stability.

3.) 11 Apr 2016 17:18:38
I know things aren't great at the moment but booing players and protesting about who knows what isn't going to help anyone. Stupid and pointless.

4.) 11 Apr 2016 18:30:22
I can't manage to get to the game tonight but i think the fans should sing and cheer the team on, God knows we need all the help we can get, protests against the players is futile, it is the owner we should target, he thinks he is a one man band, this is a famous club he is ruining, get the back room sorted and then step back. I would welcome a buy out from someone who knows how to run an English club 😡.

We could do with another wide player as well as another centre forward.

Clarke looked a real prospect last season and I'd be happy to see him come in on loan. Although, I agree we may be looking further afield for new signings with Anigo in charge of recruitment.

The deadwood 12?

Pantilimon, Smith, Hefele, Ariyibi, Bridcutt, Clough, Cummings, Murphy.

That's eight, with possibly Yacob too? Milosevic? Hope not, the Swede has looked decent. Benalouane? Might be surplus like Milosevic, behind Worrall, Dawson, Figs and Chema.

I'm not banking on promotion this year and I think it would be foolhardy to do so. I prefer the slowly-slowly-catchy-monkey-method, build a team bit by bit, have faith in the players that got you there and add a few sparkles of quality along the way, year-on-year.

As opposed to spunking a shed load of cash as soon as you go up and dumping the lads that got you there. You never know, if we do go up we might come down again and I'd rather have the lads that had a strong campaign in the second tier than a bunch of mercenaries that only joined for Premier League football.

Not a fan of Burnley per se, but the way they have done it and established themselves thus far is impressive and the way I'd like to see it done with Forest.

Certainly a decent squad player at Championship level though. I'd give him another year or two.

Forest have appointed Jose Anigo as 'Head of International Recruitment'

I'll warn you now, this guy has a dirtier track record than our bakery bashing owner. He has some very dodgy associates and his son was shot in the head by assassins as he was a former jewel thief in France. Yikes.

Still, he found us Samba and Sow so.

Charlton Ath. have been singing Mull of Kintyre since the late 70's same as Forest. I work with the son of former Charlton legend, Bob Curtis, and we argue regularly over who sang it first.
