My worry is the old chestnut a striker. Wood, I suspect, should have time to recover from his red card incident that could have ended his career. Jesus tries hard but can’t seem to score, Louca? Even if he was a hidden talent, there isn’t time to discover.
So it seems there is one alternative left who seems mysteriously on the side lines - the one and only Tiawo Awonyi!
Surely he is a proven goal scorer who saved us from relegation in a previous season.
Whatever his personal beliefs are irrelevant as he is a Forest player through and through.

I'd definitely give Taiwo at least the first half, just for something different.
We have 2 very good gk, a good prem back 4, plus Sangare, mgw and Ando in midfield, all players who other teams would pay good money for.
It's up front n the wingers who are the problems.
Cho puts in 1 cross in 50 chances, Omari just so lightweight, 1 goal, couple of assists. Ndoye, Bakwa look out their depth, Jesus wanders off all over the place n got 3 league goals.
Calling out for Big T.

An entertaining match. Villa’s quick passing of the ball really put our more laboured approach to shame. Again we rode our luck. Maybe Villa were tired as most played last Thursday in Bologna. So what will
VP do this Thursday? Surely Sunday's game is significantly more important. So I would start with the same team as last Thursday including Wood up front.
Sadly Tiawo was not on the bench as he is both literally and figuratively head and shoulders above Jesus and even Wood atm.
Why does HO play on the left wing when he is left footed? He never today, went to the byline to cross always cutting in so is on his left foot. As a result he is ineffectual. Both MGW and Anderson shifted some ground today as did Ainia. Nico was a good choice as MofM and Sels saves kept us in the match. Would we have the same luck against Villa over two legs is uncertain. Whereas I think we should beat Burnley assuming we have a goal scorer up front!
1.) 12 Apr 2026 20:08:30
McGinn is left footed, though.
Didn't seem to be a problem for him to run us ragged at times from the right wing.
2.) 12 Apr 2026 21:24:23
I agree. Logic tells you that your wingers should operate on whichever wing so they hit the by line and cross with their dominant foot, ie, if you are a right sided winger your strongest cross is with your right foot.
Now, the great John Robertson, although could play with both feet, played on the left wing for Forest because his left leg was the stronger. His crosses are legend.
3.) 12 Apr 2026 21:33:24
Nononuno
John Robertson was right footed.
That's why he took all his penalties with his right foot.
Though he was brilliant on his left as well. Other than George Best, I can't think of anyone better with both feet.

You wanna see me in the 80's Disco's mate!!!
???
???
5.) 13 Apr 2026 08:25:52
2 left feet, Rogie. Unplayable!

My team for tomorrow is exactly the same that blew the Danish team apart in the first half, i.e. McAtee, Ndoye, Hutchison, Jesus ( Wood ) Cunhia ( if fit! ), Captain Yates, Bakwa etc.
1.) 08 Apr 2026 20:16:42
What was the team that thrashed them 3-0 before?
2.) 09 Apr 2026 11:35:21
Hutchinson a doubt fitness-wise. Wood probably restricted to 30 mins at most.
04 Apr 2026 18:01:48
Two players I would like Forest to sign, when we get £100 for Anderson. Harvey Elliot and Quanash (apologies for spelling). Both ex England 21 cup winners. Get Elliot’s career going again and bring back the centre back who was initially picked in this current England squad; both ex Liverpool.
1.) 04 Apr 2026 18:48:44
Definitely agree with Quansah. Not sure on Elliott. He'd be a good signing if MGW moved on. I don't think he's quick enough for what we'd want on the wing, so, as a back up to MGW, he'd be pricey.
2.) 04 Apr 2026 19:12:16
If we get £100. Million for Anderson, we should sell him back to Newcastle and get Ellanga in part exchange.
3.) 04 Apr 2026 19:56:09
Good shout, mate.
4.) 04 Apr 2026 21:57:22
Well done, Saints!!!!
Just brilliant!!!!

My team for Sunday's crunch match.
Sels
Williams
Murrillo
Serbinator
Ainia
Yates
Anderson
McAtee
MGW
Hutchison
Tiawo.
1.) 20 Mar 2026 08:43:30
Back to the smiling assassin. ?? Desperate.
2.) 20 Mar 2026 09:36:12
Like that team, Nononuno, but I think he'll go 3-4-3.
Sels
Jair Cunha, Morato
Milenkovic
Murillo
Aina
Sangare
Anderson
Williams
McAtee
Ndoye
MGW
McAtee and MGW as two roaming 10's, and Ndoye as a false 9, with Aina and Williams providing the width as wingbacks.
I'll just wait now to be trolled by Recliner Boy for my team set up and selection.
3.) 20 Mar 2026 09:43:47
I don't know why you bother naming the team every week. We've only got 11 players. The rest wouldn't make Lincoln City.
4.) 20 Mar 2026 09:47:41
And they are doing really badly aren't they Recliner Boy 2
5.) 20 Mar 2026 09:49:11
So our B team are the 11 players we e got are they you do talk some crap
6.) 20 Mar 2026 12:08:24
MM, you are likely right. As long as Yates and Mactee are in the team. Sangare is too negative. So, Yates ideally with Anderson. Backra played very well as a wing back last night, and I was tempted. If VP is cautious, he will go with a back 5. The impression last night, with the first team members, is they played as individuals, ie both Anderson and MGW and even Williams.
Sangare scored a great penalty but hung back. We cannot allow Spurs to dictate the game. In a great first half last night, we attacked and completely upset the Danish side's rhythm. To sit back and aim for a draw or a break away goal, is courting disaster.
7.) 20 Mar 2026 12:52:14
Bakwa also took some very good corners, though to be fair he's had no competition in that department.
19 Oct 2025 14:26:00
My belief is the next manager will be Da Silva. What is 8 million compensation to Fulham as far as Forest’s fortunes are concerned. We won’t need to worry re worsening our financial viability, as Nuno got a quick job it saved us a few million at least.
18 Apr 2026 11:08:39
I am also pleased Coventry made it. Can you remember when Southgate got Middlesbrough to a losing European Cup final? Next stop, England manager.
Lampard failed at Chelsea and Derby County. Yes, everyone deserves another chance, but Lampard as next England manager? I am not sure at all, and it would be another Southgate appt.
18 Apr 2026 11:03:35
Alternatively - Sels, Ainia, Cunha, Serbinatior Williams
Sangare, Dominguez, McAtee
Hutchison, MGW, Awonyi
I don’t think he would play Netz (only that he hasn’t started before). If we are having a winger, it has to be Hutchison over Ndoye (N was poorer on Thursday). MGW is our central play maker and top scorer, so couldn’t be left out. Awonyi deserves to start, but I suspect it will be Jesus. McAtee was bought as an Anderson or MGW replacement.

I agree completely with the sentiment re Ando's mother. It is likely she was quite ill for a period before this. It is possibly an explanation for comments on this site, that his mind was elsewhere, which affected his play.
We all have our own stories to tell, and footballers are just the same, ie have mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, wives, children.
Difficulties with any of them could affect our job and enthusiasm for it, as it brings the reality of life and its fragility.

Not many posters have said how well our second 11 did to keep Porto at bay. It shows that Bakwa, Ndoye, Mactee and Abbott just need game time to show us their talents. Abbott made some very good interceptions, and Ndoye and Bakwa were more than adequate wing-backs against a very good attacking side. Agreed, it took 15 mins to settle, and that own goal deflated Porto a bit. I didn't agree with Steve Hodge saying we got away with murder.
Mactee gets better each time he plays, and has a good shot on him. Yatesy was disappointing, and Wood - what do you expect. I accept I am a fan of Tiawo and do know he couldn't play in this tie; however, he would have been a better player to bring on than Jesus. I suspect Jesus will start on Sunday, with Wood coming on as required.
