This is very early in a season to be doom merchants. Is Arteta going to be replaced as Arsenal were trounced by Brighton. City best Coventry 1-0 the other week. Have people forgotten last week we beat the Villians for the first time in eons.
There is no doubt OG is a class manager he has the CV.
Please give him an ounce of common sense. We may or not see changes. Aina is a good footballer and would have prevented that Coventry goal. I expect Forest to be mid table at Christmas so everyone sit back and allow OG to show us what he is made of.

What a major concern of mine for our club is who is in charge of recruitment of new players. Today we hear Watkins has left AV for 50m. Did we bid for him? We let a Moreira go out on loan - a wing back, yet we are in for another Brazilian one.
We sell Awonyi for a mere 9M but keep Jesus. On whose radar was the new central defender? If all these decisions were OGs I would be resigned to see how they work out. You can blame Big M as the buck will always be with him.
However he bankrolls our club and he is the reason we enjoy premiership football today. I have not enjoyed the first two matches of the season. Perhaps OG now understands the players better. There is no doubt all fans should be 100% supportive. There is no alternative. You have to believe it will come right. My understanding was a similar situation occurred with his previous club at the beginning.

Williams and Ainia are both very good fullbacks but they are not wing backs. This 5 at the back is a non starter with them. An average first team from Leeds beat us at home and a less than average second team from Leeds beat us again at home. Hutchison and CHO are redundant in this system.
It seems Leeds have shown us it doesn’t work with these players. I don’t doubt OG is a class manager but before he was appointed did he think he could just change how we play? Do I remember a certain Australian with a different approach and being hounded out of the club 6 matches later.

Very fair points. Is Glasner like Amorin, in that he will never change his system? Probably, but he is a proven coach.
What I don't understand is our lack of transfer activity. I realise you need two to tango - a buyer and a seller - but we don't appear to have the personnel to play Glasner's system...
that is a worry.
It's too early, of course, to throw the toys out, but good players like Aina and Williams look out of sorts right now after a long pre-season and 2 games, and that's not ideal.
Delap costing £10m more than England's next Number 1 in goal for Leeds looks pretty awful economics to me too.

Tiawo was a player low on confidence when he fist came but then saved us with his goals from relegation. Unfortunately had injuries and a near fatal altercation with a goal post. I don’t think anyone will forget that. One of my memories was that amazing dribble from near the half way line to score. He was also more than an old fashioned centre forward. He could hold up the ball and challenge anyone around the box. Today when his fellow players said goodbye you could see how much esteem they hold for him. In these times when money talks very loudly in a player's ear, Tiawo never missed an opportunity to tell you of his personal beliefs and what motivates him.
Now Og may have told him where he might be in the pecking order should a new striker arrive - which I expect. Coventry make an offer and the player says he wants to go and that’s it. I don’t think Og wanted necessarily to sell him but was honest with Tiawo about his chances of starting a game. I think
I agree with Jesus’s weak points but Og puts him higher than Tiawo who also seems below Kalimendo and Wood. To me the fact Tiawo has signed for another club means we have a replacement coming soon. On this site it appears to be Delap or Solanke but we will see. I also wish Tiawo the best in his future career.

Glasney is just looking to bring on players for a certain system. Also, Taiwo isn't as versatile as Jesus, who can also play as a second number 10.
People forget, you can't have every player in the squad, even if you want to keep them.
If Fofana or Bergvall come in, we have replaced Ando with 2 players... Someone is going to miss out. We have brought in Diamonde. Who is leaving from the defenders? Savona is over 21, I think, so he can't be in the "youth" player cohort like Abbott?
People act like we can bring in players and keep the others...
If we sign a MF, RWB and striker:
In: Diamonde, SchhhhhhLager, Bender, RWB, MF2, Striker
Out: Taiwo, Ortega, Boly, Lucca, Taiwo, Anderson.
We had to let someone go if we were signing a new striker, I think.
Does anyone really think we don't need a new striker? Don't kid yourself. Wood is not going to play many games on the evidence of last season.

Delap will be on Chelsea wages, and that might be the stumbling issue. Watkins is available, and Harvey Elliot from Liverpool
Elliot is an ideal MGW replacement, who is injured currently.

I think MM, the side VP, will pick the AV. It is the side from last Thursday, assuming injuries have resolved. Although last night demonstrated we have a very strong 2nd 11. There is no doubt it will be a feisty match, and AV will try to nail Anderson. Although, as he is from the NE, he will take no prisoners either! I am looking forward to this match.
MGW will desperately want to play, but it's the medical team's decision.
It is disappointing that neither Netz or Awoniyi are in the squad! Was this SD's decision? Do we get another chance to pick a squad for the final.

My belief is the next manager will be Da Silva. What is 8 million compensation to Fulham as far as Forest’s fortunes are concerned. We won’t need to worry re worsening our financial viability, as Nuno got a quick job it saved us a few million at least.

Stokey, you obviously had a very good education and I was able to tell after the first sentences that it was your post ! However I think you became a policeman ? It's true that football clubs such as ours run a fine line between success and and failure. Big M has bailed us out big time and may give us a new stadium do more people can watch the reds. Goodness knows where we would be without his funds. Big is blamed for many things yet I am sure i ) he is a very successful business man ii ) he does not throw money down the drain iii ) he makes mistakes as we all have done in our lives but as we should learns by them.
Of course he has gambled with OG as a better manager than VP. He knew VP both at Olympiacos and at Forest but made the difficult decision to put OG in charge. My own belief is it is the best decision for the club to stop relegation battles and stabilise the side. He will know MGW will eventually move on and no club would refuse 125M, look at the villains and Morgan Rodger's. We have no choice but to accept Big M's decisions, and watch the club go forward
PS don't get me on the debt our country is in.

I appreciate your posts Stokey, however in life we can have no ‘if only'. You cannot go back. OG will be with us I believe till the end of the season and I hope beyond. This club needs stability in large doses if it is to start to move forward. Managers of our esteemed club have not done well following their dismissal. OG may have aimed higher and is potential wage packet may have turned his eye.
He is young manager who will have aims that he does not want dashed by an under achieving team of his. He will want success. Until the Coventry debacle, OG was beginning to turn a few heads on this site. He had faith to come here as he liked what he saw. So let's be patient and see what happens against his old club.

The problem is Lampard is popular with the FA and a likely next England manager. He is in the Southgate mould ie nice character wont upset FA applecarts. Southgate won nothing with Middlesbrough and it didn't stop them appointing him and he won nothing with England. So how Lampard does with Coventry is irrelevant to the FA. Lee Carsley is my choice should TT fail again.

I think the team will settle, and the results will come. Today’s match, although no goals, was a case of two forward-playing teams. When you think what Spurs spent compared to us, yet we equalled them today. Delap was bereft of supply except over the top. MGW and he will gel, as when Delap sent MGW through at one point.
With Ipswich, did he net so many goals as he played with Hutchinson? Neither Ainia, Williams, nor Munoz hit the byline, although Munoz sent over a few good crosses. Both McAtee and Schlager had very good games. A draw was a fair result, and it appears no one on the pitch seemed to dispute the VAR handball, especially Williams.

Glasner knows Henderson and must think he is a superior goalkeeper, otherwise this would not have come to light. That does not mean Sels is a poor goalkeeper at all. I like Og being able to make decisions, and being supported by Big M. So he was allowed to go for the players he wanted; it is just that he did not get them.
He did not want inferior players, just better ones. This is not like the past, when a whole group of players just came to the club, most of whom have now left. So, let Og do his job.
