Looks like we'll be getting another defender.
Morato of Benfica. €15m been accepted.

According to Fabrizio Romano were are being linked with a loan move for Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Gio Reyna.
He's quality!

18 Dec 2023 19:56:33
According to Fabrizio Romano Forest are in contact with Nuno Espirito Santo as new Head coach in case they decide to fire Steve Cooper.

Red Fred

1.) 19 Dec 2023 06:47:11
Heard that Fred, did okay with Wolves but was a flop with Spurs. Has experience in the Prem but is he any better than Cooper?

29 Aug 2023 16:26:56
Nuno Tavares loan deal with an option to buy. Could be completed in next 24 hours according to Fabrizio Romano.

Red Fred

1.) 29 Aug 2023 17:28:03
Surprised we haven't gone for Ndombele - serie a winner last year.

2.) 29 Aug 2023 22:23:51
Probably the fee and his wages?

3.) 30 Aug 2023 17:03:48
very true but could get him on a loan if spurs pay most of his wages? It sounds like we are going to be buisy this week though.

Tavares
Hudson Odoi
Murillo
Domingues

then Batshuayi, Ndid and this greek goalie waiting in the wings!

4.) 31 Aug 2023 01:14:43
Over the 24 hrs now.

5.) 01 Sep 2023 10:09:58
Your an impatient one Phil!
Only a day and a bit late.

27 Aug 2023 21:03:28
Looks like Wifred Ndidi may be next through the door.
Personal terms look to have been agreed.

Red Fred

1.) 27 Aug 2023 22:20:32
Not a bad shout fred.

2.) 28 Aug 2023 06:47:57
He’s been poor for Leicester for a couple of seasons but prior to that he was one of the best holding midfielders in the league. If he can rediscover that form he’ll be a very good signing. Think with more runners around him like Yates, Danilo, Santos he should do well. Good option along with Mangala for a defensive midfielder.

{Ed001's Note - he has had a succession of injury problems, which is why he lost form. It is keeping him fit and not playing him in the centre of defence (which Rodgers did quite a lot) that is the key to getting the most from him.}

3.) 28 Aug 2023 08:09:59
Munich are also after him on loan. Also Nigeria have already qualified for the African league of nations, so could be out for that if we sign him.

How foolish do the Nuno out brigade feel now (yes you know who you are).
Got too greedy to soon wanting exciting football didn't you?
Nuno knew the limitations of his squad and played accordingly. Look what happens when you try and play differently with players that have no first touch and need 5 minutes on the ball to make a pass!
Let's get ready for the counter arguments, Nuno wanted out and the wheels had already started falling off lol.
He expressed concerns about the squad and some of the extortionate fees on the dross coming in. If all he was interested in was a pay off then he wouldn't have walked straight into another job.
He got us to 7th place and Europe even if results did fade toward the end of the season.
A good win against Brentford followed by a creditable draw against Palace.

Red Fred

1.) 18 Oct 2025 17:25:26
Very true red Fred.
Edu should of been the one sent packing!

2.) 18 Oct 2025 18:52:21
Not in the slightest bit foolish. Glad the muppet is gone.

Nuno wanted out so it was time to say goodbye. He was on a downward spiral (results wise) and used Edu as an excuse to run off with the proceeds of a fat contract. He had Marinakis pants down and good riddance for that.

Never keep a player who wants out. Never keep a coach who does either.

05 Oct 2025 17:36:32
Time to end this 3 at the back and we look better without a number 10 nonsense.

Get 2 wingers back out there and a number 10 pulling the strings. It's not like we don't have enough wingers on the books lol!

Marinakis obviously got carried away along with a lot of fans wanting "sexy football".
Well we ain't got the players to do it as most can't trap a bag of cement and are too slow in possesion.

What about Betis I hear some say? Well it was one half against a continental team that will let you do it but even they soon sussed it out.

Red Fred

1.) 05 Oct 2025 22:57:31
I agree with you Fred.

2.) 06 Oct 2025 07:53:03
I half agree, Fred. I think we look best with 4 at the back but 4:3:3 and no number 10.

If one of our number 10s was playing well, I'd probably be wrong. I'd try McAtee or MGW as a pivot of 2 number 8s in a 3-man midfield.

31 Aug 2025 20:52:20
Wonder if the Villa fans are shouting for Emery's head like some of our fickle fans are with Nuno?
"No change Nuno" is one thing but "no goals Nuno" is factually incorrect and name-calling for the sake of it ?.
Out of our last 41 league games we've failed to score in only 9!

Red Fred

1.) 31 Aug 2025 21:00:49
Fred your missing the point
Emery not said a word against his employer.

2.) 31 Aug 2025 21:04:34
Well said mate. the hysteria is off the scale on here!
We lost 5-0 at Bournemouth.
How did we do in our next game?
???.

3.) 31 Aug 2025 21:19:15
Your missing the point Downthepub.
Today's Nuno out rants are a knee jerk reaction to today's result.
You can see that surely? Otherwise there would have been multiple posts saying Nuno out for the last week snd a half!

4.) 31 Aug 2025 21:31:35
Fred I see that
Ill say this though
Was a bad day and deserved what we got
I prefer to keep nuno but not exactly helping himself?

5.) 31 Aug 2025 21:36:24
Rogie, Fred. I believe the "OUT" chants were more because of Nuno's rant.
The fact the team played really badly and the manager did not utilise his squad properly exasperated matters.

6.) 31 Aug 2025 22:11:21
Nono goals moniker is me taking the pee based on the joke-show pre-season of only scoring once in 8 games.

What kind of manager complains about needing a third senior keeper in public after that? It looks ridiculous, humiliates the owner.

IT hasn't looked good since the April Fool's day win against Man U. There's no glossing over it.

HOME GAMES
Played 7 | Won 1 | Drawn 1 | Lost 5

AWAY
Played | Won 2 | Drawn 2 | Lost 1

And pre-season we only scored once, wasn't it?

Is that good enough to qualify for Europe, or is it relegation form?

7.) 31 Aug 2025 22:30:45
But you still love sangare.

8.) 31 Aug 2025 22:40:31
Neither, it's mid table form.
We did qualify for Europe though didn't we despite cherry picking results from the end of a long hard season which also saw us reach a cup semi-final?
If Maricrackers decides it's time for Nuno to go then he'll go. Until then he gets my full support.
I'm in no position to tell him he has better game changing players on the bench when he sees them everyday in training.
I'm all for a good conspiracy theory but all this "Nuno's doing on purpose to get himself the sack bla bla bla" is utter dross ?.

9.) 31 Aug 2025 22:52:11
The quicker sangare leaves our club the better.

10.) 31 Aug 2025 23:42:24
I don't love Sangare. I don't think he's some terrible player like you do though. He's a decent number 6. The entire midfield were rubbish today, including Sangare. In fact, the whole team were, apart from the keeper. Trying to scapegoat one player after a crap performance like that is just ridiculous.

Gibbs White is our highest paid player and was responsible for us losing 2 points last week and created absolutely nothing today. But it isn't his fault alone either that we lost. It is the coach's job to change who is on the pitch if his tactics aren't working or people are playing badly. I'm afraid it's that simple.

11.) 01 Sep 2025 00:05:38
Here, here DTP.

12.) 01 Sep 2025 00:31:29
Picking the most recent games is not cherry-picking. It's showing we are on a bad run. And that form would have us in the bottom 5.

I don't think he's trying to get fired, either. Nuno just over-played his hand and isn't in as strong a position as he thinks. I'm bored of the football and only see it going one way unless we get on top 6 form, and very quickly.

I say that about form, but if a manager Marinakis and Edu want is available (one on Mendes books is out of work in the form of Maurinho) then they have been handed a golden opportunity to move on if they think Nuno can't take us to the next level.

I don't have a clue whether the rumours about looking at Postman, Maurinho and Rogers are true, but it would not surprise me one bit.

13.) 01 Sep 2025 04:57:51
Sangare plays the ball like a hot potato.
If this is his end result I'd relegate him to the bench and have Luiz in his place.
Hutchinson should of replaced Ndoye not Macatee.

14.) 01 Sep 2025 13:03:51
Like I've always said. we should of never bought sangare in the first place. also nuno had every right to complain he asked for players to be bought in early so he could get them up to scratch he asked for players who he needed in certain positions and looks like he got them last minute after complaining I see edu got his man that he also wanted at arsenal luiz. but it's not him managing the team it's nuno could you imagine what forest would of won under clough if he had a edu picking the players we would of won nothing simples we love nuno. nuno nuno.

04 May 2025 16:16:07
Looking at the fixtures we've probably done enough to finish no lower than 7th. One more win guarantees it though.
Given the way we have performed in the last few games anything else would be a bonus.
It would still represent a remarkable season but can we regroup, kick on and achieve even more?

Red Fred

1.) 04 May 2025 16:49:49
Thanks very much Mossy, thanks to your great info, getting our bearings now. met Sir Brian, really lovely place. the castle is great, the Forest shop is good too!
We had a drink in The Alchemist.
Bar lads were great Craic. the cocktails had some sort of smoke bellowing out!
So my wife says "It's my Husband's 60th tomorrow", so he looks at us and replies "Which one is it then?
(Bearing in mind my son is 23 my daughter's 25, and her boyfriend's 27!)
???
Brilliant Craic with them!

2.) 04 May 2025 16:58:41
If Liverpool get their finger out and score a couple, we should still have a decent chance!

3.) 04 May 2025 19:19:25
Wishing you a brilliant 60th Birthday Rogie! ? Enjoy your visit to Nottingham with your family and have a great time at your World Famous City Ground tour tomorrow. I’m so pleased for you that your lovely wife treated you to this. Enjoy my friend. ?⚪️⚽️.

4.) 04 May 2025 21:25:57
Thanks again mate!

14 Dec 2024 22:06:12
@Stevie f. As you requested here I am still bragging after 16 games.
We were in 10th I believe after 6 games when we last spoke?
We can't drop any lower than 5th after the rest of the weekends fixtures.
Great ain't It pal? Like Ed said still early days but my don't it feel good?

Red Fred

1.) 14 Dec 2024 22:08:19

2.) 14 Dec 2024 22:15:40

3.) 14 Dec 2024 23:17:41
It does feel great Fred, but Stevie is not on the site atm. You're talking to yourself mate.

4.) 15 Dec 2024 06:07:33
He is Legless. Check out discussion page where he posted last week.
He asked me to post after 16 games and I have.

5.) 15 Dec 2024 09:28:31
I’ll come back just to acknowledge that Fred, you are entitled to a reply, as I did say what you suggest, yes things are going very well and credit where it’s due, but it’s laughable that your now all tossing yourselves off over the same style of football you were slating the last manager for, he has the luxury of better players, as Ed rightly pointed out, milenkovic has stabilised the defence and is being lauded by most as the bargain of the season, murrillo is a much better and more experienced player and improving all the time, Anderson is a superb player, wood is fit and firing, having turned up from Newcastle totally unfit, with hardly any football, as it happens I never said I wanted nuno gone, but questioned his selections, and still do from time to time, like yesterdays, starting at home with Dominguez and Yates didn’t work, and we looked a different side when he changed it, and he freely admitted in his interview on match of the day, they ignored his instructions and got more forward than he wanted, so won the game inspite of his instructions, , I like nuno he comes across as a lovely bloke, gut don’t let's kid ourselves it’s clough mark 2,

6.) 15 Dec 2024 10:17:29
Good man Stevie.
I'm more excited about the results than the style of football if I'm being honest.
We do get more men forward than we used to though and have looked a lot more solid even with more or less the same midfield, hence we aren't losing as many.
I'll not get into the argument of better players as it's been done to death on here. There seems to be a fairly even split among posters on the merits of that subject.
I think Nuno's comments were meant to be tongue in cheek and not taken seriously. Not to be used as another way of undermining his role in last night's win.
Once again thanks for the reply.

7.) 15 Dec 2024 11:09:06
Red Fred no problem mate, lost my voice, and am battered and bruised from the winning goal celebrations in A” block, but will be memories that will live forever ?have a good Christmas.

8.) 15 Dec 2024 12:19:12

9.) 15 Dec 2024 14:52:54

{Ed001's Note - cheers Stevie, you too mate.}

11.) 15 Dec 2024 15:59:00
Merry Xmas to you as well stevie. hope you have a good one ?.

One thing you always get with Wiiliams is effort and that was sadly lacking with some of the others.
Luiz clearly isn't fit (that's why Nuno never started him yet still got slagged off for it).
Savona MAY improve given time but early indications are he could be up there with Forest' s all time worst signings.

No pace in the team whatsoever and could not live with Bournemouth's intensity at all. They're miles ahead of us in all departments yet we came up together and spent loads more than them.

Didn't get many from midfield last season though did we yet we still did OK?
Difference is we're letting too many in at the other end.
