Chris Wood deal done subject to medical could be useful in our dogfight to stay in the Prem

Experienced in both the Prem and relegation fights

Will provide cover for Awoniyi.

I'm very wary of that. We need a younger man up top. If he's flopped at Newcastle for £25 million why are we offering a £15 million deal in the summer? By then he'll be 32 - the image of dead wood (!) rises again.

Newcastle only signed him last January to ensure they stayed in the premier, we are doing the same because of injury
It's not really possible to go out in this window and get a top striker so you have to look at what's available.

I agree 15 million seems a bit pricy but I think he's a good signing git plenty of premier league experience and brings something different. Good with his head if he finds himself on the end of one of yates headed chances he will get goals for us.

Wood will prove a much better player than awoniyi. Wood has power great feet sublime in the air all the things awoniyi lacks.

No he won't rutters
He's a good quick fix at this moment in time.
He won't start every game.

Don’t mind the chris wood signing. He’s an experienced player that with his skill set will help the other attackers around him. I definitely think he’ll play a part in the second half of the season!

Only concern is 15 million is a bit pricey and we’re reportedly giving him a deal that would last longer than his Newcastle contract ran until, so probably 2 maybe 3 years.

Chris wood played like Glen Murray today - enough said.

Got to give him time to settle and get more match fitness. We hardly played to his strengths today.
