Item 2 on Forest's Ground extension plans is an absolute minefield. How are they to manage the movement of thousands of extra football fans converging on the ground, Everybody makes their own way and in their own time to a football match.

At the end of the day the city will make plenty of money out of this themselves never mind putting all the onus on to the football club,
On a lighter note if we get relegated this season Forest will have saved themselves a fortune!!!!!

6 games in, 5 points won. System doesn't suit us with the players we have (but neither will change).

In some respects you run out of things to say about our club, as in many respects we are just on repeat. Sack a manger, recruit late in window, other changes around club.

Glasner was always going to take time - same happened at Palace. So one needs to be patient. As we know, Mr M wont be. But let's see where we are after 10 matches. 5 managers in 12 months is insane. they are well paid, but of course players are affected by this.

In some ways, it is irrelevant. M will probably never give the managers time and will always change anything if he wants to. As is his right. The club appears to have little strategy and little actual route to stability.

We need to - obviously - be doing what the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and others have done - high value sales backed up by stats-led scouting and transfers (players and managers). That doesnt guarantee you success (Southampton have failed on same approach) but in this money orientated and big club skewed league, it is the only way.

Leeds are joining the β€˜established Prem team' standings as they have recruited very well (and early). Perhaps Coventry, Hull or Ipswich will be next. They have started well and each done some interesting business.

We have had 3 relegation scraps in 4 years + will have another one this year. Our approach is not conducive to prolonged success. How can it be? We can discuss how we got promoted (Cooper + M + 4/5 amazing loan players) but since we got promoted we have had what looks like a tombola approach to almost everything. We even hired a new CEO this summer after the window shut.

As I have said before, post Anderson we have recruited poorly in my view, yet we knew he was leaving ages ago. He was so good, that he was very hard to replace and you lose 2 players in 1, but to end the transfer window in net positive territory for Β£ tells you something. Moreover, every other team has invested and improved. we have not. We are so so dependant on MGW for survival and even Sels, it is unreal. Don't get me started on Delap but we must give him some time.

Anyhow, none of this offers a solution. The only solution would come with more structure, mor method to the approach. Which wont happen whilst we have our ownership.

As for how Mr M behaves at times, dont even get me started and maybe it's a blessing he is at the CG less than he was (I think).

You can't take this approach forever - look at Watford now - eventually your luck runs out. Enjoy the ride.

Perfectly summed upπŸ‘πŸŒ³.

Can't disagree with you on that Agen, if the players can't play the new system they should have gone in the last window and definitely in January and bring in players who can play this system. But can't for the life of me understand why he got rid of VP when the players were playing for him.

5

15 Oct 2026 11:23:26
Agen
Best post I've seen on here for a long time. A perfect summary mate.
Vale, likewise, couldn't agree more πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ».

Good points.

I think with Glasner. Mr M has made his bed. Now he is going to havw to lie in it. His track record shows he comes good in time. So it would be stupid not to show some patience.

The big worry for me atm is our home form which goes back the whole calendar year. We look a lot better away. Last year our away form kept us up.

5

15 Oct 2026 12:56:03
Another good post 67 πŸ‘.

5

15 Oct 2026 13:59:16
If Mr Marinnakis is avoiding/ losing interest with Nottingham Forest, it will definitely affect future finance, as for sacking Glasner in January if we don't improve, who will take the job, who's any good? What ever decision is made stick or twist, it looks like another regulation battle unfortunately.

5

15 Oct 2026 14:33:08
Sack him, write off 7.5M and get Pereira back, while he's available.

3

15 Oct 2026 14:43:00
Interesting what you say about Watford. Two brothers friends of mine were avid Watford fans for years, even met Elton John, They have seen an unbelievable decline and blame the owners and no one else.
Their change of managers was legend but I think Forest have even exceeded this, Watford let some good players leave and rep0laced them with loan players from the other club same ownership.

It did'nt work. This idea of owning several clubs and swapping players does'nt seem to work.

2

15 Oct 2026 15:12:03
Very good point cyclist, you can't buy any decent player for that amount and we would save a fortune in the January window. But Glasner is a good manager, so I fear that were stuck between a rock and a hard place.

1

15 Oct 2026 15:47:57
I've always considered Watford as a basket case of a club, their recent history is littered with mistakes, sackings and poor recruitment. Some of the players that have been through the club recently are world class, Sarr, Suarez and Hernandez come to mind. When they were knocking around the Premier League, Sarr was being touted as a British transfer record. Eventually joining Marseille for an undisclosed minimal fee. Crazy business.
But as some above are saying there are definitely similarities between them and us now. Watford screamed out for some remnace of stability, sounds familiar now.
Question is do we stick or twist with Glasner?, clearly the players we have signed over the previous three or four seasons aren't suited to his system.

Do we back him again in January and continue the refit or bite the bullet and get someone more suitable for the players available?. I've always considered the best coaches as the adaptable ones, for instance, VP and Nuno were both happy to switch it up, three or four at the back. Glasner has no history of flexibility. Its going to cost the club hundreds of millions to completely refit the squad in his image, many of our favourite players will be considered obsolete. Especially if we want to challenge for Europe year in and out.
So all in all Mr M has a huge dilemma, he sacked a perfectly good coach in VP and brought in his big name, now he has to either fork out hundreds of millions or admit his mistake. 🌳.

3

15 Oct 2026 16:06:51
Brining Munoz in doesn't seem to be a good fit yet.
A genuine wing back but as yet not working in our team, can't keep spending millions on Glasner type players, who knows how long he's got, especially when they are towards their thirties.
CARLO.

Good posts RRH and Carlo. Couldn't agree more.πŸ‘.

1

15 Oct 2026 17:17:47
I've been telling you all for months, we will win nothing or become top 6 with Marinakas in charge, hes a total nut job who ain't gotta clue. The sooner he sells up the better. He's been building a new ground for 9yrs, they ain't even knocked a nail in yet. The whole place is a joke.

1

15 Oct 2026 23:31:29
Forest are in a great place. Just need the old coach back. We were out of the Prem for years until we got the Greek God in charge. if you want to see a shambles, look at Leicester and Derby.

14 Oct 2026 20:27:14
PSG are so clinical i wouldn't bet against it 🀣.

1

14 Oct 2026 20:36:00
Instead of paying 50 mil for Delap, we should have offered the PSG finishing coach a job on Delap's wages. 🌳.

3

14 Oct 2026 20:45:28
Brilliant post on delap / coach, winter πŸ‘.

2

14 Oct 2026 18:13:25
Forest should go for it against Arsenal, not sit back and wait for them to play through us. Put them on the back foot like Brighton did, they can't cope with sides going at them!
But OG has to change the formation, or the Garibaldi are going to fighting relegation AGAIN!
VP would have had more points on the board now, not 3 defeats!

COYR.

3

14 Oct 2026 21:52:35
Keeff, Brighton went after Arsenal and thrashed them because they are a far better team than us, with continuity of managers ( de Zerbi and Heurstker have both had 2 years each) continuity of styles and organisation.

In one word STABILITY!
Forest managers are lucky if they get 3 months.
It will be damage limitation on Sunday. If we go after them we will lose 6 nil. We are just not equipped to go toe to toe with the best.

2

15 Oct 2026 11:29:45
I remember the corresponding fixture at home to Arsenal very well.
1. It was a bitterly cold evening by the Trent
2. A Dyche defensive masterclass. We didn't have much possession but we looked very comfortable indeed. A bonus point definitely.
3. We played 4 ( not 5) at the back. As the nil nil suggests we looked solid, Murillo and Milenkovic brilliant.

Sels made a couple of brilliant saves but was largely untroubled.
4. We had Anderson who ran the show. Man of the Match performance in a 4231, Dyches preferred formation. Drilled to perfection and a proper team effort, everyone working hard.
Lessons to be learnt for Sunday perhaps ?

Very informative Ed. It seems a number of teams are floundering with their new managers. Having 5 at the back is not a new tactic and theoretically should be defensively tight. Surely footballers can adapt especially on their wages.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - it can take time to organise.

If the players don't buy into it and feel it doesn't suit them it's unlikely to ever work.
For anyone who thinks the boss is on the wrong track going to work in any field can be difficult.

Good and thoughtful posts Carlo and Nono. Very good read as always Ed1. Had to chortle over you giving the ref Kavanagh Starman AND flop! I agree though that the ref decided the game.
Many thanks for your insight and summary.

Please Glasner change the system against Arsenal as this 3-4-3 is not working

Sels

Subs Victor Wood Dominguez Sangare Aina Murrilo Kalimuendo Hudson Odoi Yates.

14 Oct 2026 10:52:01
If he followed your team selections & formations every week we would ve playing Port Vale on Saturday 🀣🀣.

6

14 Oct 2026 11:02:16
I'd always start with Sanghere Munmad. Definitely against Arsenal instead of McAtee.
Otherwise ok but it's highly improbable that OG will change formation. We will not see much of the ball so 3 at the back is probably a given anyway.

1

14 Oct 2026 11:15:56
Hopefully milenkovic will be back, the defence needs someone in there to organise them, they have gone from being one of the most solid back fours in the EPL, to a 3/5 man impression of a colander.

4

14 Oct 2026 11:22:31
Like Leicester City next season then Larry? 😁🎣.

1

14 Oct 2026 13:04:48
My team v Arsenal.
Shilton
Pearce, Anderson, Lloyd, Burns, Aas, Walker, Gray, Young, Murrilo, Milenkovich.

1

14 Oct 2026 13:17:16
Your mate dyche will probably be in charge of them soon stokie 🀣🀣🎣🧨.

1

14 Oct 2026 13:02:43
At least I go to support them every week, Larry the Bin dipper.

3

14 Oct 2026 13:47:52
Get well soon Skeggs. Our deepest sympathies mate πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

2

14 Oct 2026 15:49:12
Apparently that superior complex of his is working overtime. Constantly dragging Skegs down for no apparent reason, now starting on Balloons. Must be exciting to be around him. πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€.

2

14 Oct 2026 17:40:59
It's " "superiority " not " superior mate.πŸ˜‡πŸŽ£.

4

14 Oct 2026 19:11:43
🀣🀣🀣 he thinks dyche is a good manager. All everyone needs to know about his football knowledge 🀣🀣.

1

14 Oct 2026 19:22:34
MM why is 5 at the back not working ?. It has been tried many times by a whole host of managers in charge of our club and has been effective. You cannot say the players are unable to adapt. We also seem to have a major issue scoring goals at home, why ? OG had a preseason with the team and they did better than usual.

Murillo is out of sorts and I suspect is angling to move on. Delap needs time to settle vis a vis Wood, when he first started at the club he got called β€˜ dead wood β€˜, whereas patently that wasn't the case.

3

14 Oct 2026 19:31:35
Our main problem is mcatee hes useless sangare not being used sels has gone downhill we should have had a goalkeeper in place to challenge him. and we're missing the serbinator and our wingers. So basically we're screwed. I might pop down king power next week to watch a decent game of football 🀣🀣🀣.

1

14 Oct 2026 19:35:20
McAtee no chance. Will be totally out of his comfort and ability zone.

1

14 Oct 2026 19:36:55
Sometimes you really don't help yourself🀦.

1

14 Oct 2026 19:43:25
Rrh most of the time I just dont care rrh 😁.

1

14 Oct 2026 19:49:05
Nah fair play, please take Mr Superiority complex with you to the King Power, steal his zimmer, then he'll have to stay there. 😁🎣🎣.

1

14 Oct 2026 20:04:07
Lol rrh I'm just playing the game keeping some of the sad people amused 😁.

1

14 Oct 2026 18:45:57
Well, you know what I mean, constantly picking up spelling and grammar mistakes. From someone that's not immune from making them himself as well. You are beginning to sound like a first class 🀬🀬🀬🀬 (I'll let others choose their own four letter insult). 🌳.

2

14 Oct 2026 19:56:15
Don't let him bother you RRH. That's what lefties do mate annoy people with banal comments. Just an oxygen thief πŸ˜€.

0

14 Oct 2026 20:31:42
Late reply that last from me, lost in the inbox. I'm not bothered by him Larry, it just makes me laugh how immature he can be, criticising others while posting mind numbing waffle about πŸ’©, that lets be honest, it has been googled, copied and pasted. πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€.

2

14 Oct 2026 20:18:16
So, do you see what I mean RRH? Compared to Skeggs you are Stephen Hawking mate. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

3

14 Oct 2026 20:38:59
Never bothered me rrh. imagine writing in geordie then you would be totally fed up 🀣🀣. I love being a common person that doesn't know English literature. Or whatever you want to call it. i live and love my life living the absolute skegness dream by the sea 😁😁😁.

1

14 Oct 2026 21:12:38
I bet you came from that place charles dickens loves stokie Chelmsford in Essex 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣.

1

14 Oct 2026 21:56:05
I enjoyed that! A great catch all on one bit of bait. Most gratifying.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸŽ£.

4

14 Oct 2026 22:08:51
Yes stokie the fishing rod so old school pal im afraid your little maggot as bait wouldn't interest anyone on here to bite back not even heidi fleiss 🀣🀣🀣🀣.

1

15 Oct 2026 13:01:27
Well, may be so, but it' hooked you and your mates. Great fun! Can't beat fish with your chips.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‹πŸŽ£πŸ˜‡.

2

15 Oct 2026 14:31:23
PS Dickens was born in Portsmouth Skeggs and I was born in Nottingham, so that would be yet another bet you would have lost. WTF are you going on about Chelmsford for?
If it's a joke or witticism it's too clever for me mate.πŸ™„.

2

15 Oct 2026 15:05:04
Anybody else got a clue ? πŸ˜‡.

2

15 Oct 2026 15:26:14
Tumbleweed. don't give up the day job Skeggs. I wonder if he ever went to Skegness.?
Clunky, dull and predictable.
I hope Phil Wangs warm up is better than that mate.😴😴😴😴.

1

15 Oct 2026 15:27:33
And you have a go at me for Google stick and paste.πŸ™„.

1

15 Oct 2026 15:30:19
And I thought you was clever stokie should of new better 🀣🀣🀣🀣.

0

15 Oct 2026 17:42:09
Not bad for you Skeggs but your delivery needs a bit of work mate. Everyone knows Dickens famous quote but. I always mistakenly believed it referred to Chatham where he grew up rather than Chelmsford.
But there you go. Credit where it's due 😁.

1

13 Oct 2026 18:36:50
England Ladies playing at King Power tonight, some might say they have had Big Girls playing there for a while now.
πŸ«’πŸ«’πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ¦°βš½οΈβš½οΈ
CARLO.

4

13 Oct 2026 18:50:55
I'll be watching Simeone stick one up the red side of Manchester. 😁🌳.

5

13 Oct 2026 19:00:08
Hush your mouth Carlo. Don't go upsetting the bin dippers on here mate.🀫.

3

13 Oct 2026 19:12:36
Going back to the game in Madrid tonight, anyone having issues with subtitles this season(on Prime)? I'm having to turn them off after every damn advert, they keep clicking on all on their own and its annoying the hell out of me. Only happens on the champions league games. Grrrr🀦🌳.

0

13 Oct 2026 20:43:16
That Alex Baena is a joy to watch, what a player, head always up and has the passing range to match. 🌳.

2

13 Oct 2026 09:26:00
Dilane Bakwa 5 games 2 goals 2 assists just saying,,,,,,

1

13 Oct 2026 09:47:48
Think Vitor had big plans for him,he knew it was a case of restoring his confidence to get to the player in there.
Tremendous pace you can't teach that.
CARLO.

3

13 Oct 2026 10:04:19
Both great posts Carlo and Munmad. Unfortunately Bakwa's attributes and pace are entirely redundant under OGs inflexible system, as I pointed out several times in pre season.

2

13 Oct 2026 12:39:14
Vitor back would be good, but we'd need Bakwa and Hutchinsoon (or wingers) who are on loan now. 🀣.

3

13 Oct 2026 13:15:51
We are probably jumping the gun a bit here Cyclist but I don't know the terms of their loans mate ie is there a recall clause in January ect?

1

13 Oct 2026 14:13:03
Under the new rules, you can only bring a loan player back during the window.

1

13 Oct 2026 14:13:54
So if the borrowing club cancels the loan they can be added to the squad January, yes.

1

13 Oct 2026 17:24:59
VP is wanted at Fulham. The big Greek missed a trick, didn't he? I have also heard questions are being asked about Delap's lack of quality!

4

13 Oct 2026 18:13:50
Yeah VP and Thomas Frank, both being options for us imo. 🌳.

1

13 Oct 2026 18:21:51
Red Robin, I am still trying to understand the rationale behind Marinakis's decision to release VP. I am quite certain that he is now regretting this choice.

6

13 Oct 2026 18:49:59
Its simple Ripley, blind ambition, yes he has his faults, but at least he has the balls to be ambitious and the conviction to follow through. He needs to hold his hands up on occasion though. 🌳.

2

13 Oct 2026 19:16:04
Well said Ripley bud πŸ‘.

1

13 Oct 2026 19:10:24
Stokie is at it again, running Skegs down. Let's have one of those famous banter site polls & see how the majority of normal football fans think.
A) Would you rather go out with Skegs for 10 pints, chat footy & finish off with a greasy kebab.

B) Don your cravat & D,J, armed with your opera glasses & head off to to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden for a few Campari's & soda's & a dose of Carmen then discuss 1984 by George Orwell in the interval.

8

13 Oct 2026 19:29:37
Ten pints please sirπŸ‘.

3

13 Oct 2026 19:43:33
Opera every time.

2

13 Oct 2026 19:54:45
B then straight up to Skegness for afters.

1

13 Oct 2026 20:22:13
Sounds as though you've had a dose off Carmen already Larry.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

1

13 Oct 2026 20:24:32
I'd have a pint with Jay but I'd rather have a conversation about Forest with my Mum (who knows nothing about footy). I don't mind bin dippers that much. πŸ˜†.

2

13 Oct 2026 20:34:08
Nurse not tucked you in yet Stokie. You dirty stop out πŸ˜€.

3

13 Oct 2026 20:47:31
I don't know how I'll manage on Thursday evening Larry. We are off to see Phil Wang with a full drinks package booked. I've opted for Horlicks rather than beer.

2

13 Oct 2026 20:59:42
I knew you'd like him Stokie, Phil Wang, king of comedy,Same stye as yours 😎.

3

13 Oct 2026 22:14:19
Good night Barrie. Good night Paul.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ€«πŸ€«.

1

13 Oct 2026 22:36:20
Where,s he on Stokie Skegness Wekkies Club ?
CARLO.

0

14 Oct 2026 11:09:22
Just to translate East Coast speak.” running Skeggs down” translates as " daring to debate, disagree and tell it how it really is”.
RRH, as for Mr M β€˜s "blind ambition” it strikes me that it's much the same as Custer's just before the Little Big Horn mate.

1

13 Oct 2026 08:45:07
Make or break time for Glasner next 3 games imo

The players don't look happy playing 3-4-2-1 imo

Looked much better in a 4-2-3-1 set up which we can switch back to

McAtee
Gibbs White
