Don't post much in the closed season, but it doesn't look good for Forest bringing back any of the loan players as yet, still time, but can't see it happening, so my question is, will this situation cause us to loose the fantastic camaraderie and team spirit we could all see last season, could it be detrimental for the team going forward into this season, sometimes togetherness and team spirit are worth more than any 20 million plus players.

Dreamteam

1.) 22 Jun 2022 19:10:46
Exactly Dreamteam ?.

2.) 22 Jun 2022 23:51:04
God point but a manager lives by his results
Some of it will be down to inflated prices being asked by their clubs now, even though they don't want them?
Spence won't want to play for boro?
Boro didn't rate him very highly a year ago but now want 20 million?
No club will pay that outright.
So be down to boro accepting best deal they can get and the players being satisfied hecwill get to play regularly.
He will be in demand but not as much as boro would wish.
Leave it to the professionals to sort out.

3.) 23 Jun 2022 01:06:01
If we'd signed a couple of them think the team spirit and momentum would have continued, but looks like we're signing none of them, but in Cooper we trust.

4.) 23 Jun 2022 06:24:14
Ask yourself this
Is 5 million for Lowe a good deal?
Is 15 million for Davis a good deal? Is their quality worth the price tag I'm not sure it is can we get better quality for those prices? I think we can unfortunately this was always going to be an issue with so many loan players. In hindsight if we had not won promotion hiw many of thise loan players would we have signed . probably none .

5.) 23 Jun 2022 10:07:22
In cooper we trust, he did well with what he had and he created the team spirit as there was none when he turned up and I am sure with any of the new players we bring in he will create the same again.

It's not worth paying the prices that the clubs are wanting for the loan players we had they know we are interested and are trying it on Davis is good but not worth 15m and Lowe is not worth 5m not.

Murphy and Co know who they want and we have to trust there judgement just like in January, am sure before pre season starts we will have the players in that cooper wants

6.) 23 Jun 2022 12:08:35
Am I the only one that thinks £5m is a decent deal for Lowe? I quite like him. Would still need another LWB to give him competition though. Ideally, Tagliafico may be on the move for around £4m, although he'll probably be off to a Champs League club. Lowe and Tagliafico for under £10m would be spectacularly good imo.

7.) 23 Jun 2022 13:08:08
£5M for a crock? If he was fit for 40 games, it's a good deal. But how likely is that?

8.) 23 Jun 2022 13:19:33
Lowe as missed more games than he’s played whilst on loan at forest. Plus even if fit. Is he good enough for prem. maybe for £2m he’d be worth the risk.
Williams can play either side
Still praying spence joins.

9.) 23 Jun 2022 15:59:55
Issa Kabore is probably an upgrade on Spence.

10.) 23 Jun 2022 17:10:27
I personally wouldn't worry about the comradery, as I think it is very much Cooper and co who have been responsible for that.

11.) 23 Jun 2022 20:54:24
I'd say 5 million for Lowe is a little steep but I like the way the club won't be held to ransom I'm sure we have a long list of potential targets I'd just like to see them signed sooner rather than later to give them time to gel. I personally think having time to gel plays a big factor in the commeradere aspect.

12.) 24 Jun 2022 09:23:36
18 months or so ago I said on here that the team we field if we go up to the Prem will be very different to the one we have in the Championship. I still think that is the case.

13.) 24 Jun 2022 10:59:00
As other people have said, Lowe isn't worth £5 million, Davis isn't worth £15 million and Spence isn't worth £20 million. Those prices are simply extortionate and Forest are correct in not paying them because it would give every other selling club the idea that Forest are willing to pay over the odds and that's not a situation we want. The club is absolutely right in looking elsewhere. It's a shame though as it would be brilliant to get Spence and Davis back.

Zinckernagel is a superb player at Championship level but probably not what we need for the Prem unless as a backup option, but it wouldn't be in his interest to accept that, so it is best for all parties if he goes elsewhere (Olympiacos? ) . I don't think that Lowe is good enough for the Prem either and he gets injured far too often.

I dread to think what price tag United would put on Garner, but it would almost certainly be beyond anything Forest would be willing to pay for a single player, so the only hope there is to get him back on loan. This would suit all parties but nothing much has been said in public about it as far as I'm aware. It would be good for Forest and good for Garner's development as a player, with first team football almost guaranteed. And United would have a better and more experienced player at the end of it. It seems silly to ignore all that and leave him to sit on the bench at Old Trafford.

14.) 24 Jun 2022 17:29:53
I am pleased that we are not doing the easy thing and re-signing all of the loanees. If we are to compete in the Premier League then we need to sign PL quality level players. The likes of Davis, Zink, and Garner were loaned to us because they were not ready or good enough for PL. Lowe and Spence were out of favour. Lowe is not PL standard and I would not want to pay over £10m for Spence who is also unproven at PL level or a top tier league in EU.

We have to hunt and sign players for the standard we are now going to have to compete at otherwise we will be straight back down again.

Having spent 23 years out of the PL, I think we are going to go for it by signing only first team ready players that can compete at PL level. Great news but going to be tough and expensive!

15.) 25 Jun 2022 07:48:46
No room for sentimentality at Prem level. To be successful we need an utterly ruthless approach to improving the team. If Dane and co identify players who would be upgrades then we must not get bleary eyed over replacing them. “But he was a good lad” and “I liked him - he had some good games for us”. Remember Cloughie was the most ruthless manager of his time. He replaced Chris Woods with Shilton without even blinking. Team comes first young man!

16.) 25 Jun 2022 14:22:23
Agree with ya 124, buying better quality obviously gives us a better chance. Not sure when Shilton replaced Woods though, it was the other way around in the 78 league Cup run. When Shilton was bought he replaced John Middleton, who ended up at Derby a few weeks later, with Archie Gemmell coming the other way.

17.) 25 Jun 2022 14:31:17
I think someone else must be bleary-eyed if they think Shilton replaced Woods.

Lowe will be a PL fullback.

18.) 25 Jun 2022 17:43:55
The earlier we get players in the more likely they are to gel before we start the season. A slow start will be a problem so let's hope Awinyi and Henderson will be followed by more incoming before pre season.

Thanks to all the lads that sent fantastic messages at the loss of one of my best mates Very appreciated, we were the four musketeers that fitted together like a jigsaw, the pee taking out of each other and banter just rolled off each other's tongue so easily, you all know what I mean you give it, you take it , travelling to Forest games, home and away are going to seem strange after all these year's together but I guess the three, Musketeers will have to carry on,

A win on Monday would be brilliant for all four of us ??? Come on you Reds ?

What was the saying all for one and one for all.
Rest easy my ow'd mate, but if you could have a little word with him upstairs, a little help keeping Forest in the prem, would be very much appreciated ????.

What you have got dreamteam, is brilliant memories to fall back on. I'm sure the three of you will have a drink in his memory.

2tone, I appreciate your reply and accept that I did read it the wrong way and I apologise for that, I've been a bit touchy over the last few day with one of my old Forest mates being very ill with c.v., unfortunately he passed away last night.

Jolly, why is it the you have to let yourself down in your posts, you started by telling me what a great bloke 2tone is, and I shouldn't be having a go at him, fine, then you more or less have a go at me, telling me 2tone can say what he likes. Funny you can have a pop at me but I can't have a go at 2tone, All water under the bridge now ?.

2.) 08 Oct 2022 22:00:53
Dreamteam I like your posts sometimes people forget that they have things going on in there life's as well keep posting mate.

3.) 08 Oct 2022 22:18:54
Sorry to hear about your loss of a good pal dream team. Times can be hard and it’s another reminder to enjoy every moment you can with friends/ family, to keep smiling and to be the best person you can be.

4.) 08 Oct 2022 22:19:33
Condolences dream team.

5.) 08 Oct 2022 22:37:03
Thanks Rutland going to miss the owd lad.

6.) 09 Oct 2022 07:55:43
Take care mate. it's such a Traumatic time losing a great mate.
God Bless.

7.) 09 Oct 2022 10:00:31
Thanks lads really appreciate all your messages, the reds have lost another longtime supporter and lover of the club.

07 Oct 2022 22:47:36
2tone the only thing that I find rude in your reply to my earlier post, is the 3rd word in, that little word. If. The rest of your reply I have no problem with at all, although I did say that the club doesn't have to tell us anything, that little word if sounds as though you don't believe what I said.

Dreamteam

1.) 07 Oct 2022 23:15:03
Dreamteam i remember skegs bringing this up a while ago mate. If you'd ever met 2tone then you'd know he meant nothing in anyway to be offensive etc. Posters take posts far too seriously at times because they read them as they think. Not as the actual posters trying to portray. In fact he hit the nail on the head. Believe me mate couldn't wish to meet a nicer lad. Your reading him wrong.

2.) 08 Oct 2022 00:16:15
I apologise dream team, I’m not questioning your support of the club. Just meant to ask if you’ve ever felt that you’ve really known what’s going on behind the scenes? I’ve said on here before that none of it makes any sense- football has gone completely off the scale in my eyes, sometimes I struggle to keep the faith as I can’t understand what keeps the game or the club afloat but a few msgs or conversations with other Forest fans or general football supporters brings it all back.
COYR’s and let’s give it to Villa on Monday night.

3.) 08 Oct 2022 00:17:39
Cheers Bowie ?❤️.

4.) 08 Oct 2022 12:44:01
For what it’s worth I’ve only ever seen 2tone as a true gent on here, always polite and respectful, if we were character profiling folk from what they post I’d never doubt his intentions.

5.) 08 Oct 2022 13:15:45
Dreamteam you’ve got 2tone a good friend of mine might I add, all wrong……. he’s one of most genuine and honest lads you could wish to meet and didn’t mean you any disrespect whatsoever and it’s also his right to say what he wants how he wants so don’t start having a go at a really top lad who’s heart is in right place and always is……. I’m proud to call you a friend 2tone (Great post) mate, if the world had more people like 2tone and Bowie in it…. it’d be a better place.
Two of the most honest and genuine lads you could ever wish to meet…. both my two good friends.

6.) 08 Oct 2022 14:16:50
It’s easy to get snippy when things aren’t going well but for virtually the entire time on here most people post the views with humility and respect . I have differing views to lots of people on here but I’m genuine when I say the posts I like reading the most are those with an alternative veiw and on some occasions I’ve reevaluated my own view as a consequence of reading an alternative view .

Football is an emotive subject but it should never fuel disrespect or intolerance, I feel this site and the posters on it uphold good values with a culture of respect and tolerance for the most part - we all slip up here and there as do all humans, but generally we all seem a decent bunch?

7.) 08 Oct 2022 18:01:23
Cheers jolly - see you Monday night ?.

8.) 09 Oct 2022 12:27:39
Definitely mate, stick to your guns and don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t say, I’ll back you up ?? if people have a problem with words and free speech then it’s tough Titty (there problem) .
My point is made…. end of.

Is it to much to ask of the Nottingham Forest hierarchy, Randall or someone to come out and explain to an old man, supporter of over 68yrs know, season ticket holder for most of that time, as to what is happening at my beloved club, is all that been said in the media, tv, radio etc just a load of rubbish, or is there some truth in what's been said . Could be an age thing with me, but I just can't make head nor tail of what's happening at the minute.
Please, please, please will someone from the club just explain what's occurring.
Please explain what the club are trying to do, changer's afoot one minute, not the next, does the club actually know what it's doing with both coach, sensibility shown there at least, and players,
NOW LET STEVE COOPER PICK HIS OWN SIDE
If he has been doing, come out and tell me, come out and tell me that all this about meddling with the side is a load of rubbish.
A simple explanation would help a old git like me, and a hell of a lot of others I'm sure understand what's going off instead of guessing all the time.
Unfortunately what I do understand is us the faithful, fantastic supporters as we are told, actually get told NOWT, So long as we keep giving the club our cash, in my case pension, your happy, and all you that feed us is chicken, sh dropping's .
I know the club doesn't have to let us know anything, witch as I said it doesn't, but on certain occasions it would help us supporters try to understand what's happening with MINE and THERE club.
Know I've wrote all this for nowt because who gives a toss , certainly not the club . and nothing will ever change.
All the very best Steve Cooper, think your going to need it mate. Hope you get the full two years to bring my club more success.

Dreamteam

1.) 07 Oct 2022 14:20:07
We are all entitled to know dreamteam but while you've got pillocks like Randall who comes out once every 3 years and Waltzing Matilda who nobody knows what job he does except sponge a living off daddy, then we have no chance of updates. There's that much rubbish spouted in the press they would be releasing statements every day if that was the case.
A timely bulletin now and again wouldn't go a miss to calm things down tho. ?.

2.) 07 Oct 2022 14:20:39
You've been taking to much notice of carlo dreamteam.
Inside information my foot. ???.

3.) 07 Oct 2022 14:45:44
Something in what you say Dreamteam but I think he's been picking his team all along and he has to stand by the failure s.

4.) 07 Oct 2022 17:31:55
Dream team-if you’ve been a fan for 60 odd years have you ever been informed by the club exactly what’s going on behind the scenes? I doubt you have and I suspect you never will-If you get sucked in by the media rubbish I don’t think it’s the club you need to explain things ??‍♂️
I hope that doesn’t come across as being rude but if you want to be informed of how the clubs run and every decision they make you’d need to be heavily involved in the club not just a paying supporter.

5.) 07 Oct 2022 17:48:33
You just wait 79 Carlo has a cunning plan developing ???.

6.) 07 Oct 2022 19:29:03
Not another marching band over trent Bridge. ??.

07 Oct 2022 09:13:41
Just seen this team put out by someone and i must say that it looks more like a Steve Cooper side than any I've seen this season, weather its strong enough I'm still not sure, but this side looks like the team we should have started the season with and gradually improved on it instead of throwing millions of away, what do you lads think.
Henderson

Aurier
Worrell
McKenna
Toffelo

Mangala
Obrien
Yeates

Johnson
Surrage
M G W

Like I say might not be the strongest but one you could see Steve picking if left alone to do his job, add the other centre half when fit .
It's a very similar side to the one we did start with I know, but making all the change's to the side like we have have made us even worse and we've lost all the togetherness, team spirit from the side that we had in abundance.
If we had added better players to this side gradually I'm sure we would be better off and saved a lot of money.

Dreamteam

1.) 07 Oct 2022 10:54:55
Like the look of your side Dreamteam. We need a team ready for a scrap on Monday night. Anything but another drubbing would be a step in the right direction. The brightest point for me last Monday (and it was a pretty dark night! ) was the way that Aurier played when he came on. He looked a proper defender. Perhaps carrying a few pounds because he hasn’t played much but a real defender. That’s what we need at the moment to stop the goals we are conceding. I would be happy to see Toffolo back too - he has the right work ethic for the fight we are in.

2.) 07 Oct 2022 11:18:15
That team looks bang on for a good scrap and will ay for the shirt. Let's wait ad what happens. ?.

3.) 07 Oct 2022 11:19:16
Does no one feel colback would be a better option for one the midfield places?
One thing jack does is give his all for the cause.

4.) 07 Oct 2022 11:45:13
He seems to have been forgotten amongst all the signings. No better scrapper and disrupter at the club.

5.) 07 Oct 2022 12:42:34
Probably just his age and pace that keeps him out of my team lads, who would YOU take out?

6.) 07 Oct 2022 13:12:02
Good call 79 I'd forgotten all about him. Just shows how crazy things are at the mo ??‍♂️?.

Rutland, will all the Forest fans who backed Cooper only a few months ago at Wembley and thought he was the second BC, back him if he get the chop, would they be prepared to stay away from the ground to make a point, I think not especially as we are now in the premiership fans won't miss prem games, if Marinakis sacks cooper and replaced him with a so called BIG name, Steve Cooper will be forgotten in no time, after all he’s done for our club, If this is the way Forest want to go under Marinakis, they’ll do it without me setting foot in the ground again, But who’ll give a toss about that ay.

Who’s the Johnson your on about then 79, the Johnson I’ve been watching has done great for Forest in his first full season, but as for getting better every game man, give it a rest, he’s been average at best over the last 8 games, gets a goal or a assist in a game I’ll admit, but also goes missing for long periods, and gets MotM in games on his blossoming reputation not for what he gives to Forest over 90 minutes, the lads done good, as for getting better every game, never.

I agree with you 2 about Marinakis not calling about cook, but I certainly think he would about Lodi and awonyi, his pet poodle Lingard as well . Bowie your a wise man so I’m told, answer me this, Watford new there lad, forget his name is it Dennis, anyway, wanted away straight after they were relegated and asked 20mill for him, if cooper really wanted him, why wait until virtually the end of the window to get him for exactly the same price as Watford originally asked, were they waiting for the price to go down, or was he just another panic bye as all the other options were turning us down and cooper didn’t realy want him anyway, hence he don’t get much game time. There may not be anything in the conspiracy stuff, I certainly believe Steve Cooper didn’t want a lot of these signings, and I'm sure he would have wanted a proper winger in his squad ie Bowler. Hows things with you mate, just lost one of my old Forest mate’s, died last night, got through all this time without c.v., caught it 2 weeks ago, died of c.v. related problems with his kidneys, life’s a bitch sometimes . ☹️.
