Rutland hit the nail on the head in his post yesterday - in most cases we have not signed the right quality players for this league. Mr M has obviously come to the same conclusion with is sacking of the recruitment team. There are some signings that I am sure will come good. MGW, for example, is a young player who is with the perfect coach to bring out the best in him. Nico Williams has a lot of developing to do that will take time, but could eventually be another good buy. O'Brian and Tofollo both have the work ethic to make progress at this level. To my mind, the jury is still out on the rest. But we are where we are. The question is whether SC can pull a side together to keep us up. Villa was a start.

Williams MGW, Obrein and toffolo cost a grand total of 55 million though and we weren't in a position to spend 20 on a rookie right back with potential to be honest.

Should leave us with a tight championship unit and we can get 5 loans in again if needed and slowly shift the players who have clearly shown they are not prem quality. ?.

Nobody from the 23 or fringe players will get the chance to step up with all the dross in front of them ,I imagine they feel very down knowing their chance will probably never come at Forest .

Some things are now clear. The recruitment team have signed a number of players that are not Premier League quality. Some look to have potential - Aurier, Mangala being two - others are not showing the basic skills required to be playing at this level. The recruitment team should go along with Murphy who carries the ultimate responsibility. But if SC, who is widely regarded (not just in Nottingham), as being one of the brightest coaches in English football at the moment can't get a tune out of the squad, who can? Stick with him, get rid of the recruitment team and give SC the final say on incoming signings. It might not save us this season (and with this squad I doubt anyone can) but it would give us a firm base for another successful go in the championship next season.

This is the point I was making earlier is the recruitment team bringing these players in for forest or for forest and olypiocos in mind I would doubt Murphy would of had owt to do with half of these I think Murphy as done a good job last season at forest and previously at Barnsley if we get rid of him expect more crap from abroad.

I don’t disagree Skegs - the problem is that the workings of recruitment at the club are not transparent. If Murphy has the final say as Chief Exec then he is as culpable as the recruitment team. If he doesn’t have the final say has the recruitment team had complete autonomy to sign who they want? Either way they have got it wrong and should pay the price.

The chopping and changing of managers has to stop and has to stop now, as Steve Cooper is one of the best managers we’ve had……. give him time to sort out this mess and by the sounds of things most of it is not of his own making.

Marinakis is a hot head and doesn’t care about ppl. If sacking cooper is a means to an end he will do it in the blink of an eye. Don’t waste your bus fare jolly. As for cooper being a great coach he’s had a month with these players to work on the basics, set pieces etc. what we saw against Leicester was rinse and repeat, clueless at either end in set pieces. At no point did we play tight creating triangles for fluid pass and move, these are all coaching issues. We turn attack into defence and play aimless balls down the wings. Sorry but this buck stops with cooper. He won’t play toff or surridge and has no faith in obrien. So where you might think recruitment quality is poor he plays Lodi who has been part of a 16 goal collapse and repeats the same mistakes. Sorry chaps these are all coopers choices and decisions and until he comes out and says otherwise it’s his weakness and downfall…

And another thing, toffolo is probably the only one who can head a ball, he has exceptional Ariel abilities none of our defenders have this.

I speak as I see 79 and no matter how low quality the players are drills and organisation are a given, vardy blind sided us 3 times no excuses. I’m also giving an alternate view it’s not all down to the board and recruiters it’s coopers choice to blackball toffolo and surridge and his call to not trust obrien.
