Gobsmacked this evening, we all seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet!
Do the FA and Prem League like Forest, Everton etc No!
We are the cannon fodder for the big 6 shet clubs - Money talks
I was against the so called Super League, but sod them all - let them go, but we will be laughing when the League doesn't work and TV money walks!
17 Mar 2026 20:23:39
Well they're getting their comeuppance tonight!!!!
πππππππππ
17 Mar 2026 21:47:41
As the great man said "You can take all your cups and your medals and all your pots and your pans and throw them all in the bin because you got them all by cheating...".
Sums it up.
17 Mar 2026 17:52:47
Well done to Chelsea - the new owners brought the problem to light. Just like Forest went straight to Premier League when the Brennan Johnson money was delayed.
The big difference is the Chelsea situation was originally underhand and possibly fraudulent? The Forest situation was bad luck.
Result - a slap on the wrist for Chelsea (apparently the Abramovitch trust will be paying the fine) and Forest docked points. Hypocrisy at its best.
Expect the Premier League to swing into action to save Spurs and West Ham - canβt have 60,000 seat stadiums in the championship after all. Plus lose all that Far East money from their coffers.
I am disgusted today. Absolutely disgusted and I am sure, more than ever now, that something isnβt right with the whole set up in the Premier League. Do we expect a whole load of dodgy decisions against us before season end? Letβs see.
17 Mar 2026 18:58:16
Red frog, the 'Save Spurs' campaign started Sunday. Forest get denied a borderline 'offside' goal, which could have been given due to the degree of tolerance built into the system. Meanwhile, at Anfield, Richarlison strolls back from 2 yards offside to join in with play and scores a last minute equaliser.
No one does a thing. Get ready for more of the same Sunday. Tottenham have its estimated 180 million followers worldwide, we have estimated 2-5 million. Who do you think the money men will want to stay up?
17 Mar 2026 19:19:53
Absolutely agree with both Redfrog's and Stevie's posts, and if I was a betting man, I'd put a tenner on a certain Mr A Taylor reffing the game. Problem is that our passionate owner doesn't conform with the Premier League's establishment. It's going to be a tough call for the rest of the season, just got to keep the faith.
17 Mar 2026 19:33:34
Agree, Stevie and Vale, this has a whiff of the sewer to me. I'm sure VAR will be in overdrive to ensure we go down.
17 Mar 2026 19:56:37
I agree with all the above posts. π
17 Mar 2026 19:58:50
I think we got Michael Oliver.
17 Mar 2026 20:06:14
If we play like we've been playing, it won't make no difference, lol. All season we've been poor. Now the conspiracy theories come out. We should never be in this position in the first place, all thanks to Edu and Mr M. Conspiracy theories. π€£π€£ Desperation more like.
17 Mar 2026 22:42:25
Got to agree with you there, Stellaboy.
Stevie, offside is offside, mate. I can't remember being so happy and celebrating a goal so enthusiastically as that Ndoye goal. I was gutted when it was disallowed, but having seen it on TV afterwards, it was correct, unfortunately.
I do, however, think there are 2 sets of rules.
17 Mar 2026 23:07:15
Gazzi, I'm not denying that, but the VAR images are semi automated. I don't trust VAR, did you see the Spurs goal? And where did Richarlison come from?
17 Mar 2026 14:23:02
Man City will no doubt get the same sort of punishment, because they are a big 6 club!
Leicester points deduction.
Everton points deduction.
Forest points deduction.
Sheffield Wed points deduction.
Oh right, of course, those point deductions are ok, because they are not big 6 clubs!
The FA and Premier League need to get this sorted, because it is deffo one rule for them and another rule for the smaller none 6 clubs!
Where would these supposed big 6 clubs be if the rest of the Prem teams and EFL teams weren't around?
17 Mar 2026 15:49:35
If Marinakas hadn't wasted half a billion on crap players, then we might be a big 6 club by now & getting the same treatment.
17 Mar 2026 15:53:37
While I do agree with a lot of what you are saying, mate, Everton, Fester, and ourselves were charged for breaching FFP rules and all got similar points deductions. Wednesday got theirs for going into administration and effectively being broke.
Chelsea did get away lightly, imo, but were given credit for the new owners bringing it to light and being completely transparent. If they were still owned by the old regime we still wouldn't have a clue what's happening behind the scenes.
Now City, they have denied all charges and dragged their heels in helping present evidence. What is it? 115 charges? The FA and Premier League have to make sure that they have a watertight case on every charge or City will no doubt win any appeal. Yes, it's taking forever, and it's frustrating. I think they have set themselves a deadline for the end of the season to get it done. So, therefore, promotions and relegations can be confirmed. π³
17 Mar 2026 17:48:14
Pathetic the way they play their bloody games...
17 Mar 2026 18:32:35
Good posts, Red Tree and Red Robin. Just read BBC Sports reporter Dan Roan on their website. He makes some very relevant points. Worth a read, because it's a succinct summary.
Whilst Chelsea were given credit because their new owners voluntarily disclosed Abramovich's fraudulent activities and co-operated fully with the enquiry, it's still the case that a fine of Β£10 million for a club valued at Β£1.5 billion is lenient.
Plus, by virtue of the numerous trophies they won under Mourinho in the 2010s, the new owners benefited from the attractiveness and desirability to world class players right up to the present day.
If no points deductions, then what about stripping Chelsea of all their trophies and handing them to the runners-up? Like Ben Johnson being stripped of his gold medal for steroid use in the 1988 Olympics, and the silver medalist (Carl Lewis) promoted to gold, and so on through all the placings?
Likewise, there should be a sporting equivalent of the 2002 Proceeds of Crime Act.
The same principles should apply insofar as any gain obtained in whatever form (like the Brink Matt gold) should be confiscated forever.
It would be open for clubs to pursue civil damages against Man City should they ever be found guilty, even after the season's end. Mr M is particularly litigious, particularly if we do get relegated (which we won't), and could sue for the loss of huge sums as a result of demotion.
Basically, it's all a right chuffing mess.
17 Mar 2026 18:55:57
Punishments for financial breaches, underhanded payments and backhanders should all be the same. Points deducted, simple. Standard three points, then a point for every breach/charge. π³
17 Mar 2026 19:02:03
And in City's case, once they hit zero points, it should therefore roll over into the next season. π³
17 Mar 2026 12:17:08
Are illegal payments fraudulent? And using unregistered agents illegal? Are there any VAT and Inland Revenue aspects to Chelsea under reporting of transfer activity? All seems very odd to me. Winning titles and trophies with players acquired under the radar.
17 Mar 2026 21:54:30
You would think there would be VAT and Inland Revenue implications Frog but Abramovitch ( like Putin and all the Russian oligarchs) are masters of money laundering and creative accounting. Been at it for generations mate .
17 Mar 2026 09:47:43
Chelsea get a slap on the wrist for years of cheating, beyond a joke.
17 Mar 2026 12:40:31
All of the big clubs get away with it.
17 Mar 2026 08:25:39
Rob Edwards as our next manager anyone - assuming we stay up. He, from the off, as turned Wolves round and really on recent results would be mid table. Remind me who their last manager was.
17 Mar 2026 08:38:15
Happy St Patrick's Day!!!!

17 Mar 2026 08:44:17
Happy St Guinness Day, Rogie.
17 Mar 2026 09:06:01
We wouldn't go far wrong with Armstrong from Wolves either, big, strong and can score.
17 Mar 2026 09:13:54
Cheers, Gazzi!!!
17 Mar 2026 09:20:13
Get some 00 Guinness down you. πππ€‘

Any suggestions?

I will, mate!!!
Cheers, All!

17 Mar 2026 15:45:33
As no one answered this thread, I started re Wolves and their success. Their previous manager, who failed with the Wolves squad, was our very own VP. As for Armstrong, or any striker coming to this basket-case of a club, there is a cat in hell's chance.
We will only survive if Tiawo keeps on being picked; he will score goals. If Jesus is picked instead, we go down.
17 Mar 2026 08:03:17
I have no problem with VAR but after Sunday's result against Fulham I think the margin is too fine. The player involved even had his back to goal. I don't think football fans of any club want to see goals disallowed by such fine margins,
We've all seen it and I think the fans and players of any club feel cheated so I would propose either keep it as it is but with a line across the penalty area at which no one is offside unless they have crossed it or 10% of a player's body being offside.
We are in the entertainment business and goals contribute to this. FA, think on!
17 Mar 2026 09:59:57
10% of the player's body is ridiculous!! It would have to be either 9% or 11% to give anyone a chance of managing it. π
17 Mar 2026 10:30:05
Can you imagine if they had VAR back in the seventies? Best, Bowles, Worthington, even Bobby Charlton with his comb-over. It would have been 0-0 draws every week. They would have had to wear swimming caps just to keep onside.
16 Mar 2026 20:30:24
Seeing as we're all in a great mood and looking forward to our full on 100% effort on Thursday night, I thought I would put this forward. There are many small reasons why we are where we are but in my opinion, the biggest shambles has been recruitment. So I've tried to match Β£ for Β£ players we've let go or didn't sign against those we have signed. 1. Is Morato better than Worral and McKenna? Imo.
No 2. Is Dominguez better than Gardner? Imo. No 3. Is Jesus better than Surridge or Davis? Imo. A big fat No. 4. Is Ndoye better than Zinckernagel? Imo. No 5. Is Hutchinson better than Johnson? Imo. No. There are of course mitigating circumstances, but I think you get my drift. Apart from a few obvious shining lights, it highlights how bad our recruitment has been.
16 Mar 2026 23:36:37
Our recruitment has been limited because of how much money we've got. City etc can spend twice the amount we can and pay 60Mill for a striker etc. We're still in the 30-35 mill bracket.
Most of the players you mention were good for us in the Championship, but up against the best teams in the Premier League, they would have fallen short in terms of talent and ability.
I agree that the recruitment is very poor. We seem to have brought in average players, but then there are only so many players who would bother to come to us, even less now because of our instability.
The Club lacks confidence all round.
There is no team building among the upper echelons themselves, and Mr. M just wants to dominate everything for his own kudos.
All the Coaches we have had have struggled to make the Club work properly, and the players play well, and really we only have 9 or 10 good players in all who simply cannot play a major game every three days, plus we get key injuries all the time.
Recruitment must be a key to a Club's success, but I fear for us we need a wise and cool head to handle it properly - where is such a person? And will they be able to deal with Mr. M effectively to improve the Club?
17 Mar 2026 02:49:41
You both make good points, but I think the situation is even worse than that, and the repercussions worse:
1) We have apparently signed 72 players, permanent or on loan, in 3.5 years in Prem. Most have been a failure. It is too high a number, and it indicates just how chaotic everything probably is. Ange, SD and VP basically have been unable to sign anyone.
2) We spent so much on our woeful recruitment in the summer that we had nothing left in Jan, so we bought Luca and Netz. West Ham, for example, spent properly and got 2 or 3 quality additions.
3) When we first got promoted, Mr Mβs 21 (?) year old son appeared to take a lead on some deals.
4) I would disagree on our prior ability to buy one or two v good players/strikers. Maybe not Β£80m, but it could have been Β£50m for sure, but we wasted it (look what Hutchison cost alone, McAtee).
4) I read somewhere, and this is my big fear, that our salary is over 90% of our Premier League revenue. Wages as a % of turnover are much more important than PSR going forward, so selling our good players if relegated won't save us.
This should be a proper wake up call as a stat, and has me very worried.
5) If we do get relegated, and I have thought we would once Nuno left, the situation financially could be very, very tough. People underestimate this, I think, and who do we have in the club beyond Mr M to sort that out? Sticking us back in the cycle of finger-crossing.
6) We are on our multiple CEOs since being promoted too (I forget the number), but could be 4th.
7) Assuming we do get relegated (I realise that hasnβt happened, may not happen), the change required in personnel will be huge, and the wages of our second tier players probably atrocious. Wolves are already building for the Championship, and look way ahead of us in that regard.
Mr M controls and wants to control almost everything. Without a plan or proper structure, you cannot succeed. What is our plan? Will he/we ever really change? Doubt it. This is the season our luck may run out and then what happens?
17 Mar 2026 08:30:34
Some clubs in the Premier make a point of bringing in players around Β£20-30 million, improving them, then moving them on for 80 plus, and top clubs have purchased players at 80 plus and they've failed, but their recruitment means they can absorb that.
We cannot; our structure and wages mean they have to succeed or we're toast this season!!!! So, if we go down, tough, we deserve it, and if we stay up, great, we also deserve it. You're only as good as your last result. π€‘π€‘

My Forest team for the European away trip-
All Edu signings plus Edu in the dug out organising his troops if gardening leave isnβt quite up to his tastes.
Stick in Abbott and a few of the young guys to show the flops what wearing a Forest shirt really means.
Let the whole world see what a giant pile of excrement Edu has signed.
Platt wasted millions, this guy is on a whole new level.
