Shame about Simmons of Spurs, a year out and will miss the World Cup! On the plus side he's one of Spurs better players!
Now then Chaps and Chappettes, the handball incident in the West Ham v Everton game! No pen because it was 'accidental'? He reached around the Everton player and swotted the ball out of play!!
Accidental my arise! VAR. 😆 🤣 😂
27 Apr 2026 16:57:05
Terrible play actor of a player, he doesn't need to resort to that.
27 Apr 2026 17:17:27
Blatant handball, his hand moved towards the ball, and if you watch it carefully, he looks over the attacker's shoulder. He knew what he was doing. 🌳
27 Apr 2026 17:18:14
Actually agreed, Keeff, but that's what netball players do.
26 Apr 2026 20:56:51
Massive well done to all the players and supporters for the run of eight undefeated and particularly the first half exhibition v the mackems. The last four game run is a huge test and is making me very nervous. However, we now have the best manager in charge that we have had for a long time imo, and also the best man to keep us up. He inherited a shambles in case you have forgotten, and his personality, man management skills, tactical knowledge, etc.
have been very impressive, eg. brave enough to play two up front to break our long running goal drought. He has won numerous European Premier League titles in places like Greece, Turkey, Porto, so he has got the tee shirt and even if the very worst happened he should still be in the driving seat next season. I feel we now have a manager to take Forest forward, if Mr. M. allows it. U Reds.
26 Apr 2026 21:26:03
Yes, Retford, from what I've seen of him and the fact he's not scared to switch things up and change things around, definitely.
26 Apr 2026 21:43:49
Totally agree.
But, im not worried with our run in at all.
Spurs have the toughest, because they need us to lose in the first place twice, and win two themselves.
Points in the bank are what counts, and we already have them.
26 Apr 2026 22:05:03
The thing is, with Vitor he has a plan A.
A plan B.
A plan C.
Under Dyche the opposition always knew the set up, they haven't a clue under Vitor.
He's a confident person, always smiling, and has given the players confidence.
Genius putting MGW on the wing.
The room he gets to attack, and come into the box behind the full back, makes him unmarkable.
Playing Jesus off Wood is a great tactic.
That's why I feel no need to worry about our remaining fixtures. One win from us screws the rest of them.
27 Apr 2026 08:47:08
I tend to agree also, Retford.
The last sentence of your post is very important, though.
With Mr M, we can all expect the unexpected. Anything could happen in the managerial department, as crazy as that sounds.
27 Apr 2026 10:34:45
VP is an excellent tactician and flexible. I love to see what he's writing down on his note pad! A thinking man's coach, experienced, been there and done it abroad and very well liked by Wolves fans (according to my mate who currently inhabits "The Slough of Despond" as written about by John Bunyan).
He's ambitious and won't take much nonsense from the owner. He'll be off if he doesn't get the backing. I'm thinking his first demand was don't let Edu anywhere near me or my team. Great man manager. When we get out of our present scrape, he needs to be cherished, not crossed, like Nuno was.
26 Apr 2026 19:00:06
For me and the Chelsea game.
For me reds, don't beat yourselves up on this game. The coach and players are just providing everything we ask for. Obviously European games taken their toll on Forest. (What I'm saying is, let's not be too hard on the club) for this game. ❤️ FTID.
26 Apr 2026 21:27:47
Wise words, my friend, very wise words.
27 Apr 2026 10:35:19
Good post Bowie! 👍👍
26 Apr 2026 16:17:22
Chelski need to win the FA Cup, or no Champions League place. They are 10 points adrift in the table, so the FA Cup is the key for them!
26 Apr 2026 16:41:09
After watching Chelsea this afternoon, we need to play the same team as on Friday against Sunderland, and the same formation; otherwise, Chelsea will run through our midfield. We need to keep it tight.
26 Apr 2026 21:55:43
How does winning the FA Cup give Chelsea a Champions League place?
Just asking.
27 Apr 2026 06:36:34
Europa League qualification, supposed to say place in Europe!
27 Apr 2026 10:39:22
There's an article on the BBC Football site, Dtp, which gives the best explanation of how the Premiership can have up to 10 or 11 teams in the various European competitions next season, mate.
It's a worry for us, as the middle of the table teams we have to play yet (Bournemouth, Chelsea, even Newcastle with a late, late run) will have something to play for.
26 Apr 2026 15:28:10
Just a couple of footnotes to our recent games against Burnley and Sunderland.
Firstly the refs. Tom Kirk, newly promoted to ref Prem games v Burnley and the sometimes inconsistent Darren England v Sunderland. Both excellent. Both let the games flow and crucially, they weren’t the centre of attention and you didn’t really notice them, always a good indication in my book.
Secondly, a shout out to young Hutchinson particularly against Sunderland.
Looked to have gained confidence and starting to live up to his price tag. Ran their full backs ragged and puts in a decent cross.
Lastly, I was impressed by “forgotten” young man Luca Netz. Looked composed in his 30 minutes, not frightened to get forward, helped create the last goal and looked a genuine prospect at this level.
26 Apr 2026 16:07:57
Always had faith in Hutchinson, he's coming good just at the right time.
Netz getting game time too.
26 Apr 2026 16:16:06
To be honest, Netz looks the business to me, a great signing who needs to play more! I'll give credit to the set piece coach, what a difference in the Sunderland game!
Some stats from the BBC figures: Forest had something like 80 shots over 3/4 games without scoring; against Sunderland, 6 shots with 5 goals!
COYR.
26 Apr 2026 18:44:22
Sorry, the diamond, I really don't rate Hutchinson. He is just not bringing enough to the team. I'd get rid of him, probably at a loss. It's ok showing off, stepping over the ball, etc.
But you need to put decent balls into the striker area. And his efforts on goal are pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, I will have a statto proving me wrong. Just what I see, bud.
26 Apr 2026 19:19:41
All that showing off stuff can be coached out of him, Bowie, my friend, hopefully.
Keep it simple, beat your man, and cross to the far post. Just put it on Woody's head or to MGW's feet, job done!
26 Apr 2026 19:36:16
Exactly, Stokey bud, I know I keep highlighting Clough/Taylor, but they'd hate it. Just stick to basics, looking up. Not guessing. How I'd coach a team. (the game isn't about yourself as an individual, but a team).
26 Apr 2026 22:07:30
He's too lightweight for me.
Never looks like scoring either, but doing a good job atm.
26 Apr 2026 22:40:51
Hutchison played for the England 21 who won the Europeans, for which Mactee was captain, incidentally. So both are rated highly by Lee Carsley, who I respect. We need all our players on board and encouraged in the run-in. I don’t need to tell anyone on this site what will happen if we keep losing and West Ham and Spurs keep winning.
So, let’s get right behind all our players who will help us stay up. I certainly don’t want the Championship, but win the Europa Cup.
26 Apr 2026 22:53:49
Simple answer is Spurs scraped one win all year against a relegated side.
We haven't kept losing, though we've not been beaten for a while.
But you are right about sticking together, and that's exactly what Vitor has instilled in the players, along with tons of confidence.
Our goal difference is a point as well.
27 Apr 2026 10:40:53
All great posts. 👍
26 Apr 2026 10:29:11
Time for a positive post, try to put some smiles on faces! It's not all doom and gloom, it looks very positive.
Yes, Spurs and West Ham won, but they are still behind us in the table. I can see more positives ahead, like only being 3 points behind Geordie United, who are in free fall at the minute.
Let's play our best players every game, Brian Clough did, and they won 2 European Cups! It's down to belief chaps and Chappettes, and I for one fully believe we can be safe and have a go against the Villa!
COYR.
26 Apr 2026 10:24:15
So, fellow Reds are we going for Leeds or Chelsea this afternoon?
The FA Cup Final is 16th May, the penultimate round of Premiership fixtures.
Do we want Chelsea distracted before we played them?
Or do we want Leeds with one eye on the Cup, bearing in mind they are 1 point above us but have to play our serious relegation rivals Spurs and West Ham (last game).
Personally I’m going for Chelsea as they have the squad depth to cope with 2 competitions.
Leeds, on the other hand, may well be tempted to concentrate on the Cup Final and put out weakened teams to our detriment?
Thoughts?
26 Apr 2026 12:32:36
Chelsea to lose, so they feel deflated for a week on Monday, when they play the Reds!
Not sure it will happen, Chelsea have a new man in charge - fingers crossed he's as bad as the one Spurs chose!
26 Apr 2026 13:26:01
I fancy Leeds today, Chelsea just don't seem to have any fight in them atm. 🌳
26 Apr 2026 13:40:43
Same here....
26 Apr 2026 17:23:51
I'm getting good at this prediction lark. 🤣 🌳
26 Apr 2026 22:12:10
Well my five pound prediction won me £715 yesterday, happy days.
26 Apr 2026 22:34:09
Nice one DTP, now you can afford a personality transplant. 👏🌳
27 Apr 2026 10:41:51
Ouch!
26 Apr 2026 08:20:38
My team to play Villa on Thursday. Ortega Aina Milenkovic Morato / Cunha Williams Hutchinson Sangare Anderson MGW Jesus Wood.
26 Apr 2026 09:55:20
Just about full strength there, Munmad, from the players probably available, mate. Going for it, definitely. Very interesting selection.
26 Apr 2026 10:29:01
DTP, I'm sure you recall that capitulation against Stoke during Covid... I'll not really settle until our safety is confirmed, mate.
26 Apr 2026 21:49:45
We'll be fine, Rogie
Why worry?
Most on here said Sunderland was a difficult game, and were expecting a loss?
Well, that went to plan.
Spurs need to win three from four to stay up, and I very much doubt they are capable of doing that, mate.
25 Apr 2026 20:59:21
What a result.
Taiwo was only on for two minutes but thought it was a really good pass for Anderson.
Hope jair.c is ok.Been filling in really well
25 Apr 2026 20:26:53
I hope that you don't mind 'mentioning the unmentionable' - but I wonder how many of you are sharing my thoughts, wishing that we didn't have the extra European games to face vs Villa. Given our circumstances in the PL and threadbare squad, frankly I think it's a distraction we could do without.
I think we've done surprisingly well to get to the semi's.
Progress into the finals would be amazing - however, we would need to field the majority of our 1st team to stand a chance against Villa over 2 legs (excuse the pun). Personally, I think that the inevitable fatigue and injuries would jeopardise our PL future. Time to draw a line under our European adventure and field our 2nd team?
25 Apr 2026 21:08:05
We'll win it, qualify for Champions League. Lego. No chance of us going down anyway.
25 Apr 2026 21:44:16
Today's results, unfortunately, mean we will have to rein in our Europa hopes in terms of team selection. I think, had Spurs lost, then 8 points plus goal difference clear, with 12 to play for, would have given us a bit more scope.
As it is, like I said in a previous tedious post, the Europa is a bit like Murat's capture of Vienna a week or so before Austerlitz. A glittering prize, but ultimately irrelevant in relation to the big battle.
25 Apr 2026 22:07:09
Why worry, their remaining fixtures say they aren't capable of catching us.
And we have to lose 3 anyway.
That's a massive ask, and we are the form team.
25 Apr 2026 22:09:35
Sorry fuve still not hapoening.
25 Apr 2026 22:09:07
DTP - I love your optimism mate, but I'm not convinced. Stokey - I think that's a very fair appraisal. Tedious, as usual from you, but I share your views on this my friend.
25 Apr 2026 22:30:34
We aren't going down.
Tedious?
No, just positive and why I renewed my season card before the Sunderland game.
You either believe or you don't.
Facts are right in front of you, and we hammered Sunderland last night.
I'd be seriously worried if I was a Spurs fan.
26 Apr 2026 07:06:01
DTP, it's a four horse race for relegation, unfortunately.
Forest have the less favourable games to play.
Would you rather throw all the eggs into one basket, ie Premiership survival, or gamble for a place in the European final?
We're not in a position to fulfil both, unfortunately.
26 Apr 2026 07:10:38
DTP, love your enthusiasm, and I hope you are right.
If VP plays Jesus and Wood together, we stand a chance; however, we're not safe yet.
I really hope Spurs go down, that would be fantastic.
26 Apr 2026 08:20:08
The only change from before our thumping of Sunderland was that we improved our goal difference by 4.
I expected Spurs to beat Wolves, but they made hard work of it (and lost Solanke and Simons to injury).
I was disappointed that Everton lost. I anticipated at least a point apiece.
Late goals and fine margins.
I think VP is going to have to magic at least one more win (or a few draws) to set our minds at rest.
26 Apr 2026 08:26:20
He will definitely need to pull a rabbit 🐇 out.
If he plays Jesus and Wood going forward, I believe that is the equation for the last few games.
26 Apr 2026 09:00:03
I can see Villa concentrate on winning the UEFA, which could leave Tottenham with a good chance of beating Villa in between our 2 games against us, because I can see Villa putting a weakened side out against them. And, DTP, I wasn't particularly worried about going down after the last few games until you threw your prediction in.
Until we have the points on the board that say we're stopping up, I ain't predicting nothing; this is Forest after all.
26 Apr 2026 10:16:36
You may well be right, Skegs. Villa are 8 points clear in 5th place (a Champions League spot) with 12 points to play for. They are comfortable and can afford to go for it against us.
Red in Ripley, again, you are right about us having the most difficult run in.
Rule of thumb, but our remaining fixtures average out at our combined opponents league position of 8th.
Spurs 10th.
West Ham 10th.
Leeds 15th ie the easiest.
26 Apr 2026 10:36:42
Having seen the West Ham highlights, I should have said late goals, fine margins and Stuart Atwell (again) not giving (or VAR even reviewing) a nailed-on Everton penalty.
Is Operation "Save the big London Clubs" now in full swing?
26 Apr 2026 21:53:28
We are looking after business ourselves, Stokey.
And that's the important bit.
Football is played on grass, not on paper.
Pundits all got Sunderland v Forest wrong by miles.
