Sabri put his trust in his players and we were narrowly beaten. Some players relish the pressure and thrive on it some fold under it. In hindsight would he choose the same team no I doubt it. 3 points lost but we hopefully learned from what was a massive gamble and move on. We are still up there and can still make it to the Premiership, put it behind us and go again.

Keep the Faith.

Agreed, we need to move on and be positive, but you can't expect to change half your out field players and not expect a big deterioration in performance. These guys clearly showed no understanding of playing together, nothing clicked.

I think everyone saw it coming when they saw the team sheet except Lamouchi.

He has done an absolutely fantastic job this season but this seems a lesson he still isn't learning from.

Maybe sending a message upstairs? Maybe just a bad night? whatever it was this is a missed opportunity.

Hope everyone is fit for Saturday!

2.) 12 Feb 2020 09:06:34
Its not the first time. And why make such an elementary error at this crucial stage of the season. The players who battled so valiantly against Leeds etc will not be happy to see their efforts wiped out by a piss poor shambles lastnight. Instead of going into the Albion game bouyed a point or three, its roll your sleeves up and try and regroup agajnst a rampant powerfull wba.

3.) 12 Feb 2020 10:43:26
Agree Rutland - it’s not the first time this has happened. You’ve got to learn from your mistakes and it certainly looks like we haven’t-such a shame not to have picked up 3 points and really put the pressure on but we are still in a good position and bring on the baggies!

Is Marcus McGuane eligible to play for the first team if good enough or does have to play for the U23s due to signing out the transfer window?

Berserker

1.) 28 Feb 2020 12:02:14
I think your second point is correct, we just needed to get him in and so it's the U23s where he will start, but my guess is that as well as training with them Sabri will include him in 1st XI training sessions.

2.) 28 Feb 2020 12:25:48
He is set to go into the under twenty threes untill the end of the season then train with the first team in pre season.

3.) 28 Feb 2020 12:44:05
Nice one cheers, thought as much just wasn’t 100%.

25 Feb 2020 23:31:09
We are a team, that’s the difference. Maybe not the best but still a team with Lamouchi at the helm. Sometimes he gets it wrong but most of the time he gets it right. Start believing and enjoy the ride. Every time some so called fans write us off we bounce back.

Keep the Faith.

1.) 26 Feb 2020 00:44:07
That was the most enjoyable performance for me for a while. Battlers all over the pitch with such desire too. Their is something about Lamouchi, no doubt. You can see the players like him.

2.) 26 Feb 2020 07:46:20
According to the masters of doom, the wheel had come off and our luck had run out, we are in free fall.

Players will be sold, manager sacked. Why? Because we had failed to win our last 2 home games.

Just shows you how fickle some are. We are top of current form league since new year.

Enjoy the ride.

3.) 26 Feb 2020 10:13:45
So true Trent, at least we know who the fickle fans are, love it when they get it wrong.

4.) 26 Feb 2020 12:53:09
Solid team performance, great win, just like to say there are some on here who react like spoilt kids to any opinion which doesn’t tie In exactly in line with theirs, what I pointed out was IF we didn’t get promoted, players would have to be sold, which is a financial fact of life, I didn’t slag the team, I didn’t slag individuals, I also said that a couple of decent signings in jan would have made us stronger for the run in, in what is probably our best chance in years, if that makes me a fickle fan, stating obvious facts so be it, people who know me, and go to matches with me home, and often away, know different, that’s all that matters to me, not the opinion of a few cheerleading happy clappers on here,

5.) 26 Feb 2020 13:48:34
Well said trentender, just a pity we aren’t as good or play like Brentford, who did they trash last night?

6.) 26 Feb 2020 21:36:22
Stevie you are so sensitive and have double standards
did I say you were fickle?
so i'm a spoilt child for having an opinion oh and a cheerleading happy clapper
anyway this is all very childish.

We may not be the most skill full team and we might have Ben Watson rather than Wayne Rooney but we have work rate, teamwork and a never give up attitude.

1.) 15 Feb 2020 14:50:46
I thought we did really well against 12 today,

2.) 15 Feb 2020 15:16:32
Agreed and well said, but I'd rather have Ben Watson over Rooney any day. Rooney was vastly over rated when playing, and is now well past it.

3.) 15 Feb 2020 16:47:57
Murdoch, I agree with you 100% I was just having a little dig.

13 Feb 2020 10:50:16
I understand the frustration but we can’t write of the incoming players from Tuesday after one game. Sabri definitely messed up by making so many changes but let’s be honest we don’t really know why, I honestly don’t think it’s down to his arrogance or maybe I’m just hoping it’s not. There are still a lot of points to play for and it is so tight anything can happen. Every team will drop points and let’s remember one game doesn’t define a season or a player come to that. We still have everything to play for and there are still a lot of twists and turns to come. Football is both exciting and frustrating that’s why we are addicted. The team/ group can still do this and I am still 100% behind them.

Keep the Faith.

1.) 13 Feb 2020 13:33:32
One games a bit harsh, but you had to dig deep to spot any of the fundamentals required in Lamouchis approach from the likes of Bong, Diakahby, Walker and co. I reckon Sabris been tucked up in the January window and only sustained fitness from key players can get us up.

Next too games are massive, let the last game dwell and we're outside the play offs and doom will set in.

2.) 13 Feb 2020 13:41:49
Berserker. Wise words on most occasions. But this is far from the first time and the magnitude of the occasion dictated a serious attempt at 3 points. Give the loyal fans a warm feeling on a cold night. Their was a hint of petulance regarding THAT night and more than a disregard for the fans. i sometimes think the aloofness from certain people towards the fans is disgusting. If he cared for what he did he should openly apologise and offer a sweetener to those that braved the circumstances and whether to be there to support their team.

3.) 13 Feb 2020 14:04:32
Ultimately, I think Sabri had one eye on the West Brom game, and also knows the reserves are not good enough. He therefore opted to rest players in readiness for West Brom. I agree, the transfer business wasn't good enough, and we are not left in a stronger position as a result. There is an argument to say we would have been better off beating Charlton, then aiming to just not lose to West Brom.

4.) 13 Feb 2020 14:18:59
I honestly don’t believe the manager has any petulant thoughts towards the fans. I’m pretty sure he had the fans and players at heart with his team selection. He must have thought the team strong enough to beat Charlton but slightly underestimated the opposition. We were narrowly beaten and on another occasion Tyler could have had two and let’s be fair here they were both difficult chances in which he did very well to even be in the position to get anywhere near the ball, Grabbon missed an easier chance against Leeds. Tyler and the rest will come good and we need to remember it’s a marathon not a sprint and our position only matters at the end of the season.

Keep the Faith.

5.) 13 Feb 2020 15:19:29
Berserker we have lost at least 8 games. The team thrives on endeavor as the quality is just not there. The aquistions really look the wrong sort of players to enhance this squad. The petulance i refer to is direfted at the board not the fans. That eas just disrespect.

6.) 13 Feb 2020 15:43:00
Don't get the petulance from the board thing. Ultimately we're far better run, we've got a new stand imminent, a top quality manager and players who've raised us to 3rd position.

Missed a trick in Jan, but the club clearly doesn't want previous mistakes replicating when it comes to recruiting big and lumbering ourselves. i'd have preferred we pushed the bopat out on the likes of Grosicki, but it ain't my money.

Hopefully Lamouchi doesn't pay the prices for the apparent shortage of quality in January.

7.) 13 Feb 2020 16:00:14
I never thought all season we were an automatic promotion contenders, The team is slowly getting better, but it is difficult for players to come in who not played much football will need the whole squad available for run in.
7 wins playoffs
9 wins poss auto
11 wins promotion
We have not been this close in years get behind the lads and let’s get them 7 wins and go from there.

8.) 13 Feb 2020 19:33:09
Montyred I didn’t think we were automatic promotion contenders, but the fact is this league is so ordinary up to the other nights disastrous piece of management we were very definite contenders, the worrying thing to everyone is this bloke doesn’t seem to learn by his mistakes, as I have said before, that’s what the best people in any business do, put s a big question mark over him for me.

9.) 13 Feb 2020 20:35:45
So defeat against Charlton means we are no longer contenders for automatic. Absolute rubbish!

10.) 13 Feb 2020 21:02:24
Perks 10 I personally believe that defeat against charlton madd the wba game a must win to remain anywhere near contenders.

11.) 13 Feb 2020 22:18:10
So do I stevie, should just go out and take every game seriously one at a time, not think ahead.
Wrapped sow up in cotton wool and lost both the games he's rested him.
I'd like to know how many games we've lost when Yeats has started.
Lamouchi has the hallmarks of a very good coach but has let himself down tinkering against "inferior" teams.
He still has time to get it right and we are in a good position, but we should be in a great position and that's the difference.

12.) 13 Feb 2020 22:52:03
So you’d prefer to risk losing Sow for the rest of the season?

13.) 13 Feb 2020 23:36:40
Well should we play him on Saturday and then say well QPR is easy so we'll rest him again?

14.) 13 Feb 2020 23:59:05
So was he injured for the Brum game or rested.

Depends if we get promotion or not really. If we do then no one will be sold and it would be excellent business.

All keepers make silly mistakes that can have big consequences. But I agree Boro’s first goal was very soft indeed and the keeper and defender should have dealt with it. Samba looked in slow motion.
