It has been said Josh Ruffels who has been rumoured Forest have been interested in is close to signing for Huddersfield.

When Clough and Taylor were interested in signing a player close to signing for someone else they went to his home so it is not over till it is over if Forest were ever really interested, which i doubt.

To be honest Get Forward from what I saw of him in play offs I wouldn't have crossed the road to the pub to sign him. I may be wrong but in those 2 games he didn't stand out at all.

What brilliant news before the new term statrs, the club have finally decided to resubmit the redevelopment plans for the City Ground. 😊.

It will be the best stadium in League One

We should sort recruitment out immediately otherwise we are in big trouble.

The word is Lyle Taylor will be sent out on loan and that three clubs are interested.

just need to sell him.

2.) 01 Jun 2021 11:20:43
Either play him or get rid. Where's the sense in loaning him to another championship team.

3.) 01 Jun 2021 14:01:52
We might actually make money this way with covering wages and loan fee.

4.) 02 Jun 2021 12:58:30
Be just our luck to send him off and he starts banging in the goals for another championship team🙄.

Norwich and West Ham said to have enquired about Worrall, and if you include we always want Worrall but never buy him Burnley to the mix that should push up the price.

Huddersfield, Derby, Rotherham, and Nottingham Forest are showing interest in Dion Charles from Accrington Stanley.

I would say he would get regular first team football at the other clubs said to be interested in him and it would ruffle the feathers of Grabban and Taylor if Dion were to feature ahead of them on a regular basis which would mess up the atmosphere in the dressing room.

I would like him to join Forest but i would want him to fight it out with Taylor to play regularly and get Grabban out of the club in some form.

See post below. 13th May.

2.) 23 May 2021 17:18:14
Just seen it RedCyclist, full of information, do you think he would be willing to be second, or third choice when he could be playing regularly for the other teams i mentioned.

3.) 23 May 2021 18:27:57
I think he believes in himself and would be fighting to be first choice.

4.) 23 May 2021 20:28:25
If going down this route i'd be going in for 22 yrs old Wilks at Hull. 19 league goals,8 assists.

5.) 23 May 2021 20:44:08
RedCyclist, where did Taylor's confidence get him.

6.) 24 May 2021 12:01:37
Taylor is nothing to do with any other player.

If you don't sign players like Charles then the alternative is exactly what we have been saying we don't want. Journeymen and out of contract players or foreign cheapies? We don't have £8M to spend on a Prem league young player.

So is it the Brentford/ Peterborough model? Or the Notm Forest/ Direby model? I know which one works. Do you?

7.) 24 May 2021 12:43:55
RedCyclist i would like Charles to join Forest, which i said before.

All i was saying would he choose Forest over other teams justvto be second or third choice.

His having confidence in breaking into the first team on a regular basis is great but i would imagine Taylor had the same sort of confidence.

I have regularly said Forest should go for young players mixed with the odd experienced player to guide them and not try the quick fix.

8.) 26 May 2021 12:00:54
No matter what striker comes in I'd put him ahead of Taylor and grabban it's not like they could complain after the season they've had.

9.) 27 May 2021 20:11:01
Id be going down the route of a new manager first.
Can see hughton destroying a few strikers.

10.) 28 May 2021 20:47:14
Well said dan1975 79 a decent forward doesn't blame the manager. Simple as

11.) 28 May 2021 22:01:10
Theres a lot wrong with the way hughton sets up to play and no matter who we sign it will show and the inevitable will happen and he will be gone.
Start with a younger manager cus football has moved on from hughton success and even big sam has found outthat old ways don't work anymore.

12.) 28 May 2021 22:11:26
Harry potter couldn't do anything with west brom 79 come on mate ? You can't blame sam for that, not that i love his football.

13.) 28 May 2021 22:53:56
Striker obsessed on here. Have people forgot you can have midfield goalscorers. The formation and obvious confidence needs to change. As redfrog points out messi would struggle with last season's for midfield couldn't hit a barn door. (Forwards and goal) just get back to basics. More fluent attacking football, all we ask.

14.) 29 May 2021 22:34:24
Just a fact bowie mate big sams ways no longer work, remember he was at bolton not wBA before?

15.) 01 Jun 2021 21:56:06
Personally I'd jettison both Grabs and Taylor. One is past it and was pretty much awful last season. and the other, was just pretty much awful. Lol.

Emiliano Marcondes is now a free agent and at twenty six years old he would have resale value so why have Brentford let him go?

As long as his demands are reasonable he would be worth a go.

Get Forward

1.) 10 Jun 2021 22:56:57
Well obviously his demands aren't reasonable and brentford can afford to pay him more than we can so that's a no go.

2.) 11 Jun 2021 08:08:02
Brentford whatever they say have released this player because they don’t need him or rate him highly enough. Wages will be too high plus long term injury worries sounds an exact fit for Forest.

3.) 11 Jun 2021 08:40:28
I think he'll get snapped up by a lower Premier league team like Norwich.

09 Jun 2021 09:16:03
The ex Wolves boss Santo left because them either for the lack of transfer funds, or he felt he had taken them as far as he could.

It has been said he is close to being the Crystal Palace manager, it is hardly a step up for him.

I'm surprised a bigger club have not shown interest in him.

1.) 09 Jun 2021 10:00:58
I speak to a few Wolves supporters and they say the final blow for Santo was the sale of their best player Jota to Liverpool was the point at which he moved on. The top of the Premier League is a 4 or 5 richest clubs self perpetuating monopoly hence tedious and unfair. It’s why I rarely watch Premier League games.

There have been some that have said the manager should get, and deserves to get another term in charge, those of you that feel that way i ask?

What has the manager done at Nottingham Forest that makes you feel the way you do.

It is the 37 goals the team scored.

We finished 17th in the league.

We drew 16 games.

We lost 18 games.

We managed to beat Coventry, Wycombe, Sheffield Wednesday, and Rotherham, or could it be because

The manager has the worst win ratio for many years.

1.) 03 Jun 2021 20:37:27
You have forgotten Swansea putting 5 goals past us.

2.) 03 Jun 2021 20:38:46
GF that team was the worst in living memory. Give him a fair chsnce for goodness sake.

3.) 03 Jun 2021 21:14:08
Just ponder this GF
When Clough arrived at Forest, between Jan and May 1975 he won 3 games to end of season. ( could have been sacked )
The following season 75_76 they finished 8th after a one or two signings .
The following season 76_77 they went up.

4.) 03 Jun 2021 21:15:26
None of the above GF he just needs to be given the chance too build his team for this season, then we can all judge him on that, I agree he’s shown us nothing yet but I believe he deserves a chance, you can’t judge the man on five signings, loans at that, if he fails after that, he's OUT.

5.) 03 Jun 2021 22:35:16
Not me get forward another season under him will be a wasted one, the only ones that want him are because they are clinging on to the faint hooe he will do the buisness because he did it a while back.
Take into account his failure at Norwich and Birmingham then a terrible first season with us then that chance is about 40/ 60 against him doing anything .
With his dour tactics i won't give him long as forest manager and i will rejoice when we finally say goodbye and he joins megson on the managers scrap heap for boring fans across the country.

6.) 04 Jun 2021 02:22:02
Ff Dino football of the boring variety is here to stay.
Don't expect anything to change.
Hate to make this claim and will probably get shot to pieces but i think Forest will be fighting off a relegation battle this season.

7.) 04 Jun 2021 04:56:54
Warburton had a much higher win ratio with a poor team also.

8.) 04 Jun 2021 11:41:30
I don’t know much about Chris houghton the football manager and Chris houghton the man himself to judge him on only three quarters of a season and not even having any of his own signings accept 5 loan signings which was probably forced upon him as he didn’t have his own chosen players in the team to play exactly the way he wanted them to play and to what formation and style he wanted them to play to.
Let’s not forget we wasn’t pulling up any trees when he first came to the club we had 5 straight defeats and a collapse at the end of the following season to a very mediocre stoke city side which would be amateurish and unforgivable if Brian Clough would have been watching the match, it was no professional performance that fateful day, Brian Clough would have probably kicked them all up the arse and sacked the lot including the coaches at the club lol.
So fellow jolly foresters I’m saying Chris Houghton didn’t really have his own players to play to the style and spirit of what he wanted them to play too, so probably staying up was his only focus with the players he (inherited) surly getting rid of 12 players says it all that Chris was not happy with what he got landed with as he’s getting rid of the useless and probably bad Bramley apples in the squad which can make the team spirit and continuity of the squad unhappy so fellow reds let’s be fair and give the man Chris Houghton a chance to bring in the players he wants to play to the style and formation he wants Nottingham Forest FC supporters are the best in the land so let’s please at least give him next season to prove he knows what he’s doing.
FTID home or away style and spirit is still intact.

9.) 04 Jun 2021 12:32:35
Ive got nothing at all against hughton damson mate, just his style of football. let's face it was horrible to watch. You can say anything you want about the players he was stuck with or even the ones he brought in. That was his style of football full stop. And its old and totally predictable. We need to move with the times. Sorry mate 👍

10.) 04 Jun 2021 13:20:14
To be honest a lot of top level football is boring especially internationals . This continental style of keep ball and pass along the back line is boring but has been adopted by the Premier league probably because of all the foreign players. There are odd examples of gun ho attack, attack sides but very few. I would guess that there are far more pragmatic managers out there than attack minded, its just the way it is. I would also hazard a guess that its easier to coach a team to be negative/ defensive than attack minded especially if you don't have gifted talent or speed merchants in your squad.

11.) 04 Jun 2021 13:54:01
Well said Damson red. Wholeheartedly agree. We need to let hughton have his first full season with a better squad.

12.) 04 Jun 2021 14:11:57
Don’t be sorry Bowie mate it’s always good to hear your views man, if we all agreed it would be a boring world or like you say Bowie as boring as Chris Houghton’s tactics last season lol great post Bowie mate 👍
That’s exactly what I was trying to say trentender good post maybe he was stuck with playing boring football because of the players he inherited thanks Trentender.

13.) 04 Jun 2021 14:37:58
Trentender that was a very interesting reply mate.and makes sense. But a couple of things you say attack atack football just attack would do me. As for negative, would you have said any of the 3 that went up played anything like us ? As for the players i wouldn't say we were the slowest side in the league. It comes to the manager instilling confidence and belief in the players. Not putting them on the bench to play his favourites etc. And even without pace there was enough influence to rob that extra yard within our squad. But that comes with the right formations. Just my view.

14.) 04 Jun 2021 15:32:21
I'm probably going to get salted for this but what's wrong with 442 its old school if you have the right players then you'd beat most teams.

15.) 04 Jun 2021 16:03:28
Nothing wrong with 442 dan, if you've got 2 strikers, we had none. So wouldn't beat most teams mate.

16.) 04 Jun 2021 18:37:59
Damson you say the manager only had three quarters of a season, if that is the case Forest only played 16 games, the manager was the manager for 41, or 42 games so he had nearly a whole season, not 34.

You say the loan players were forced on him, where do you get that from?

Knockeart has worked with him at another club as did Murray, that does not sound forced to me.

Others have said it was his Man Utd connections that got us Garner, if they are right then Garner was not forced on him either.

O'Neil got a 46% win rate were the players he got given to him or were they of his choosing.

17.) 04 Jun 2021 19:06:12
GF in respect to damson mate, like a lot of us on here were not statisticians and maths is out the window. I think he was aiming at he wasnt there at the beginning. Please believe me when i say this i'm not aiming at yourself personally. But some posters are put off coming on here for reasons like this incase there pulled up on there wrongs. Anyway you know i luv ya 😍

18.) 04 Jun 2021 19:35:23
In answer to you Bowie, no we didn't play like the 3 promoted teams but then again I bet the 3 promoted teams won't play the way they did in the Championship now their in Premier league or they will be straight back down. That was Norwichs down fall whe they got relegated. Re our team, you can only install so much confidence, there needs to be some talent and correct attitude from players in the first place. However you can't polish aturd as the saying goes. Looking at our side on the speed from front, not many that would win a sprint for the ball, Mighten maybe the exception.
However all will be better next season, there just seems a different vibe at the club that is slowly changing the mess of the last 18 months. Different outlook, different atmosphere within club and forward planning behind the scenes. we aren't party to all that's going off but I just feel they have learnt from their mistakes.

19.) 04 Jun 2021 20:12:19
Damsonred Hughton inherited a team that was only 2 players short of the team that got to seventh in the Championship.

A manager of his experience should have been able to find a replacement for Cash, and Watson be it loan or permanent in the January transfer window.

Then results from Jan would have improved steadily but hey that did not happen.

Why give Hughton more time than any other managers when his record is the poor in comparison to all the others.

I agree with what 79 said it is only because you are clinging on to what Hughton has done elsewhere, not what he has done with us.

20.) 04 Jun 2021 20:40:16
Hi ED for some reason when i get home now and send a post, i sèe nothing until the next day now. Then i see full conversations which i have missed. Could you help me out please mate?

{Ed003's Note - This is the problem now the pubs have re-opened}

21.) 04 Jun 2021 20:58:02
The 12 players let go includes all of the loan players some of which could return.

The rest of the players let go were players whose contracts that came to an end and Hughton decided not keep them Ameobi is the only surprise not to have his contact renewed.

22.) 04 Jun 2021 22:53:38
As you may know i'm gutted over sammy mull, as posted couldn't have any better if even for the bench for low wages .clueless fkrs. Livid tbh.

Now the retained list has been released where are all those that were screaming out for it be made public.

Get Forward

1.) 03 Jun 2021 06:55:19
A retained list has not been announced. They have just confirmed which players contracts will not be renewed and the end of the loan deals.

There will be other players that leave if clubs can be found for them or bids are accepted. So I don't think we are any more aware of what the squad will look like next season.

2.) 03 Jun 2021 18:18:37
Club should confirm who has been placed on transfer list. Do other clubs get to see this?

3.) 03 Jun 2021 18:47:26
Most players that the club want to leave will see out their contracts like Hefele did because the will be paid more than they will get elsewhere.

So the club will be hoping the odd one will go out on loan, but they need to find someone interested first.

It has been said the club want Lyle Taylor to go out on loan but that is only a rumour.

Walker made thirty one appearances but only fourty four percent of those were in the starting eleven.

He scored seven times and made three assists.

Forest did not make much money from him so it was not a case of selling him to balance the books, it does not make sense why he was not given at least until January of last term to prove himself.
