Quite a special weekend that. Wow! A walk on Bridlington beach, pint in Spoons, great non league game including pie peas and pint for £15. A great walk on the moors this morning and then rhe main event. Reasons to be very cheerful. Sels brilliant. Milenkovic superb. Back four solid. Tactics spot on.
Subs at correct time, MGW scores against that lot. My mate Jesus finds himself unmarked and actually scores. We Finally have someone who can take a corner and Taiwo smiles for all the right reasons. I'm in such a good mood, I've promised the Mrs the best 30 seconds of her life tonight. If I stay sober. Cheers.

Looks like we'll end up with 3 good strikers to see the season out, Jesus, Awoniyi and Wood.
Jesus has been overused by us, to be fair to him, through injuries to others.
Personally think hes a bargain at £10 million.
Awoniyi looks a player again, and Wood is in the Europa squad.
Got a feeling this season will end in Champions League qualification.
Gazzi, been a great weekend, pal.
Like I say, never give up on a good thing.
Forest are worth it.
22 Mar 2026 20:01:53
Jesus will be better next season. It takes a long time for most players to adapt. Thierry Henry took a year to really get going. F***! People are so impatient.
22 Mar 2026 20:07:02
Agree, Cyclist, he's a goalscorer, poacher.
All about the delivery.
He's scored double figures anyway.
22 Mar 2026 20:08:16
Great post, Gaz. You're obviously a bit of a stud to get past the frustrated older-man 20 second barrier!
22 Mar 2026 20:38:42
Nice one Gazz, it's been a great weekend. ??
22 Mar 2026 21:20:45
Just watched Romero's interview after we thrashed them... showing off his Rolex??? It says all you need to know about their character.
23 Mar 2026 08:32:40
Gazzi and Lego, too much information, I think. ???
23 Mar 2026 08:49:22
Sorry Stokey. I must admit I was exaggerating a bit when I said 30 seconds.
23 Mar 2026 09:48:39
Too much information baldy. ?? I love Bridlington I thought about moving there a few years back, but not sure they'd put up with riff raff like me. ?
23 Mar 2026 12:12:48
Skegs, no, I can't imagine they would either, mate. ?
23 Mar 2026 15:28:51
You beat me to it, Stevie.
22 Mar 2026 18:34:36
“From this nettle, danger
We pluck this flower, safety”
Or, for you non Shakespeareans….
“E I E I O
Up the Football League we go”
A superb performance after riding our luck first half with the woodwork twice, perfect timing for Jesus’s goal, then took charge second half.
My fears of tiredness were unfounded (I’m glad to admit), in fact we got stronger as the game went on.
Sels was superb, the back 4 and general defensive shape organized and solid, high workrate throughout by all the players including the subs and the squad obviously want to play for VP.
I’m particularly pleased for Taiwo putting the game to bed late on.
Still a way to go but a big step forward….

Six or seven points to go, would you say, Stokey?
No club gets relegated with forty points?
22 Mar 2026 20:15:22
Agree with you as usual, Stokey. A good post, slightly marred by your intro where you have obviously been sniffing the turps too much again.
No, seriously, a great performance and a superb result. Honestly, I still don't know enough about VP to make an opinion, but, fair do's, he got things right tonight.
Happy Legolas.
22 Mar 2026 20:27:23
Stokey, we can all remember recent games where we deserved more, but as it happens in life, luck seems against you sometimes. However, it balances out in time. Spurs had no luck today, thank goodness. Delighted for both Jesus and Tiawo, but all the team put in a shift. Pleased also for all the away fans who you have heard cheering our team on through good and bad times.
VP looked happy today, and I was glad to see his success. Michael Oliver was a very good referee today. I have no doubt there will be further twists to this season, but I agree with VP, the team are together atm. M.
22 Mar 2026 20:52:44
The last sentence nails it, Nuno.
We are together for all to see.
22 Mar 2026 20:56:44
If we can stay unbeaten throughout April, it will be season-defining. On paper, the league games look winnable, and getting past Porto will line us up for a winner-takes-all semi against Villa. ?
22 Mar 2026 21:05:43
I know you can't read this winter, but we'll beat Porto easily. ?
22 Mar 2026 21:10:05
Yeah I'm blind. ???
22 Mar 2026 21:15:10
Kidding, winter.
Remember the blocker? ?
22 Mar 2026 21:33:30
You're a strange man. ??
22 Mar 2026 22:23:29
Nice banter that. Ff and Robin.
How it should be.
22 Mar 2026 23:18:01
Probably derived from all of your self-gratification whilst sucking on a pasty Winter. Naughty boy.
23 Mar 2026 00:41:23
Lego, ? I bought a four pack from Mary's, and had them delivered Wednesday. By teatime that day, all I had was indigestion and a rounder belly. ? ?
23 Mar 2026 10:28:33
DTP, like you, I'm thinking that Stevie's estimate of the upper thirties in terms of points needed for safety is probably right. After all, 2 more wins from the remaining 7 games gets us to 38 points, which should be enough. We still have to play Burnley and Bournemouth at home, who may both be mentally on the beach by then.
However, I think there will be some twists and turns to come. West Ham, Spurs and Leeds all have Wolves to come, and they may have given up the ghost by then, mate. Plus Leeds v West Ham last game of the season?
Here's a naughty one. What if Spurs decide (as they should after yesterday's debacle) to sack Tudor and appoint the survival specialist Dyche? That's some motivation for him, isn't it? You could almost say it's the last throw of the Dyche?. ?
Lego, my friend, my intro may be cleverer than you think. The words are spoken by Sir Henry Percy, the real life Geordie warrior in Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part One, a tribute to Bowie, our own combative warlord.
And his chivalric nickname? Well, Hotspur, of course.... . ??? ?
23 Mar 2026 12:15:59
Stokey, with the sad death of his father, I can't see Mr Tudor returning. I think they'll mutually agree to part company.
23 Mar 2026 12:34:43
I didn't know that, Stevie. Very sad news.

Malenkovic was head and shoulders our best player today, in my opinion, but everyone played their part.
22 Mar 2026 20:33:39
The trinity of the tree should all get 9 plus. ?
22 Mar 2026 20:42:50
All the defence for me. MGW, for most of the match, fell short; he scored but could have come off after 60 minutes. Great team performance. My mate's a Villa fan, I thanked him for today, but pointed out we will beat them next time out. Don't let me down. ?? ???
22 Mar 2026 18:29:38

I kept thinking we would concede a late goal for a nervy finish but wow, Awonyi is looking like he's back to proper fitness and finished beautifully. Dare we hope to get Woods back for Villa but on that performance Awonyi and Jesus deserve to keep their spots. What a result and makes the International break a bit more enjoyable!

Fantastic result today ???. Just the thought of Chris Wood nearing his return to the side sparks our other strikers into life, long may it continue, well done to the lads today, hopefully we can keep it going now. ??

I was never a fan of the break that is coming up, however, our small squad needs the rest, and Wood should be available too.
Coming at the right time in this particular situation.

22 Mar 2026 18:36:45
Love it, Rogie! You should be on Talksport!
22 Mar 2026 18:38:37
Greatest respect to Awoniyi for his performance today. He never thought about himself when he went in for his goal, so close to the goal post but he never flinched. Total respect for him.
22 Mar 2026 20:35:48
Taiwo has been a fantastic servant to the club, he deserves all the plaudits we can give him. Just think he literally put his life on the line for us. ?
22 Mar 2026 20:42:39
Rogie, brilliant. ??
22 Mar 2026 17:32:34
Excellent team performance admittedly against a very poor Spurs side.
Sels, Williams, Milenkovic and Gibbs White were all 8.5/10 for me and the rest were all 8.
Well done VP. You are a very personable man, along with being blessed with good technical nous.
Really pleased for you and the team.
And a big shout out to our fans. Unbelievable support in an unbelievable stadium. Superb throughout.
Spurs look doomed to me and will go down imo.

Well well well, what an amazing day. Defensively unbelievable. Sels/ Yates I've always had soft spots for. Reason. Their shot down on 1st mistakes. Absolutely over the moon for Jesus and Taiwo. Just cannot believe it. FTID. Don't get me wrong, they were just clueless. But you gotta work to take their confidence. Proud Geordie.

Haha, I bet you are the only gloating Geordie tonight. What a result. I'm still a little shell shocked, if I'm honest. Keep checking the table in disbelief. ?
22 Mar 2026 17:38:26
Exactly winter. ?
22 Mar 2026 17:38:56
What an excellent week for Forest. They defended brilliantly today and took our chances well. It is very nice to go into the break with that result and a big 6 point goal swing today as well.
Well done Forest. ?
22 Mar 2026 16:34:03
I'm going to go out on a limb and say, Jesus is going to do a Taiwo and keep us up.

Vitor is going to keep us up and win the Europa League. I'm convinced and impressed by his man management, and the fans will be singing his name.
22 Mar 2026 18:03:33
Don't spoil it, dtp, with your kiss of death patented predictions. ?
22 Mar 2026 18:10:25
Instead of posting that balloons, why not congratulate the coach, the team.
Ladbrokes didn't like my predictions yesterday.
I'll have a few pints for you ££££. ????
