The further we get into the season, the more difficult it becomes. Once we get into December/January, recruitment will already be shaped around Glasner's system and the players he wants. If the club then pull the rug after that window, the replacement inherits a team with very little opportunity to reshape it.

We could have wasted both the transfer window and precious weeks of the season. Those weeks start disappearing fast while a new manager tries to gel the squad, introduce a new system and somehow turn things around with players they didn't choose.

Who would want to come here knowing we have a trigger happy owner and such a high turnover.

A great summary and post again Robbo. No continuity, no joined up thinking in recruitment or strategy. Short term and hand to mouth planning.

When Brisn Clough arrived in January 1975. His first league game was Fulham away. We won 1 0.

He had to wait another 12 ganes before getting another win.

Good job chairmen weren't so trigger happy back then.

People forget 67 that Forest finished much lower in the table than when Cloughie arrived.
But we had a Chairman leading a committee of honourable men who would rather have thrown themselves off Trent Bridge than done anything to harm the club they loved.
Not like today where it's a rich man's plaything.

We had stuart dryden who was convicted of fraud for embessling money from the post office and sent to prison
Honourable men? ???
Suprised you wasn't on that case ???.

Just read this online.

Making the squad run through fields as punishment? Seriously, this has got to be out the ark.

Surely modern football is about bringing everyone together, not punishing players when things aren’t going well. Everyone pulling in the same direction. And where is managing the workloads and the risk of injury in that.

Does OG really think punishment builds togetherness, or is he creating an increasingly miserable dressing room? He just seems the wrong fit. It sounds more like a regime than coaching a premiership football team.

It worked for palace. ? i use to work on the bins, if me and my mate would go out on the piss the night before my driver who fought Dolph Lundgren in kick boxing would make us wear black sacks the next day and make us carry 4 wheel bins at a time while running around for 6 hours and doing press ups in between.

I was getting paid 180 quid a week we had a laugh in between and got the job done in record time no matter what bin round we was on so for the money they get paid and the privilege of wearing a Forest shirt yes gladness damn right.

You mean bin dipper, not bin man. Right? ?.

So come on then Ollie. Seven days. Training ground. City Ground.

Show us a proper formation and a game plan.

OG should go where he is happy, sooner rather than later. I see a bus on the horizon, which I'm pretty sure he's prepared to throw others under in the coming weeks. Forest simply cannot afford to be pulled further into difficulty while he decides whether this squad fits his approach and pacifies his compromises. Don't drag our beloved club down.

Marinakis should have the courage to acknowledge his decision simply hasn't worked out so far, act quickly and reverse it, rather than see us dismantle things. Let our players settle back into a system they fully understood and, most importantly, looked like they enjoyed playing in.

It's clearly irritated me that much, I've posted more on here this morning than I intended.
Sorry guys.

OG didn't walk into Forest with his eyes wide shut. Like all of us, he knew the recent managerial history, knew he'd inherited a squad assembled under different regimes and knew confidence and cohesion were very likely to be issues. So when the message becomes "I made too many compromises”, it risks sounding as though the problem is primarily the people he's inherited.

For me, that's completely wrong. He chose to inherit them. If you take a job in those circumstances, part of the challenge you're accepting is to work with an imperfect, unsettled squad and gradually mould it. You can't reasonably expect a group that's been repeatedly asked to change direction to immediately look like a team that's been playing your style of football for the past two years.

If you're one of those repeatedly sitting on the bench, or another struggling to understand exactly what's being asked of you, the language coming out of this interview doesn't create togetherness. Depending on how it's now handled internally, it could create greater insecurity and division. Not his best moment post-match.

If his answer to Forest's constant change is another major rebuild, we're going to end up treating the consequences of instability with yet more instability.

Hopefully relegation never enters the equation, but continuing to destabilise a team already struggling for form is hardly the way to make sure it doesn't.

I rarely post on the board, but like everyone else, feel strongly (to put it mildly) about where we find ourselves. With so many changes, eventually you stop getting instinctive football. You get hesitation, and at Premier League speed half a second looks like laziness, poor concentration or lack of commitment. Some are just not at the standard required.

Pereira hadn't proved he was the long-term answer, but he'd certainly earned the chance to start this season. Marinakis' impatience denied him that, and he has to own his part in the almighty mess that has followed.

Our players aren't passengers either. They're privileged to have an opportunity most can only dream of and need to adapt, fight and play with their hearts on their sleeves.

Equally, management isn't about forcing yet another formation on a squad simply because it worked somewhere else. "Zero compromises, buy in or leave” is concerning. Demand standards, absolutely, but understand the players you inherited, their strengths and weaknesses, and adapt your football to get the best from them. Responsibility for where Forest are now doesn't sit in one place. It runs from the boardroom to the dugout, to the pitch.

Go back further to our Messiahs, Clough and Taylor. They later acknowledged they broke up that great European Cup winning side too quickly. Different era, opposite end of the table and very different circumstances, of course, but there's still a lesson in it. Change isn't automatically progress. Sometimes the answer isn't another manager, rushed recruitment, another system or another clear out, it's getting more from what you already have.

For me, another snap decision involving such significant change in manager and philosophy wasn't the answer at all. Our owner got it completely wrong. We should have stayed with what we had at the end of last season and given it the chance it needed to develop.

I’ve been viewing this board for a while and love reading the comments you guys put out - thanks for the insights and views. Brought up supporting the best club in the world, alongside my dad in the Trent End, aged 3. Worshipped, revelled and suffered over the years. Boy have we suffered again today with an absolutely woeful performance.

I’m afraid I’m not a believer in Shaun Dyche, I struggle to understand his game plan at the best of times. I also don’t get the recruitment here and I dread to think what decisions are coming our way in this window.
