Firstly, what a great night last night, close game, both teams up for it. My worry for the second leg is that Villa manager made such a fuss about Anderson's tackle that he will only have to blow on a player or cause a draught passing someone and he will get carded.

Foul or not, red card, yellow card or fair challenge, quite carping on about it, Mr Emery. On the night it wasn't given, live with it.

We won't have English officials though, who would have ruined last night's game.
Some tough challenges from both sides, but he let the game flow.
There would have been at least 8 yellow cards if it were a Premier game, and our officials and VAR in this country are ruining matches with their self-importance.

I think it's great that we can draw the next four matches, be in the Cup final and Premier safety.
Who would have said that not long ago?

We could also lose our next 3 games, be out of Europe and be in bottom 3. So let's take 1 game at a time. And you should know better with your predictions and what can and can't be after the last 2 seasons of getting things wrong.

Fingers crossed, but for me im only thinking about the Chelsea game Monday, getting some sort of result, and hoping Spurs and West Ham have lost before we play.

01 May 2026 21:59:43
Oh dear.
When was the last time we lost one, never mind four?

01 May 2026 22:28:08
You pair disappoint me. Usual bickering, but no mention of Nuno. 🤭🌳

Well, it's an easy option to say nothing, winter.
Instead of first finger at the button.

I've seen a brilliant European side fighting for everything last night. And I've also witnessed too many players lost in league games. Now, that's not me being doubtful. Just truthful.

01 May 2026 22:45:32
But not under Vitor Bowie.
He's put a smile on every player's face and got them believing.
That's the difference between him and Dyche, who wanted to run things like a school headmaster from the sixties.

No one is saying Vitor hasn't a good coach, dtp. Some are just saying don't count the chickens before they hatch. We have all seen good coaches take a turn for the worst, even Vitor at Wolves.

Thats why he got sacked. When we get the points on the board and we're through to the final I'm sure we will all be happy. Until then, it will be what it will be.

P.s Goodnight, ladies. 😁

01 May 2026 22:59:46
Without a doubt, dtp, and loving it all. But, in football, as I don't have to tell ya. Just one bad VAR or ref decision can ruin a game. FTID.

DTP, Vales off to Thailand, I'm sure you can fit in his suitcase. All those chicks with 🥒 should be right up your street.🤭🌳

Why not name the Academy players too? If you just put a dash against a player's name, you may as well name everyone on the books. 🤭🌳

Enjoyed last night's game. Unfortunately, it will be my last until the Bournemouth game, as I'm off on my travels to Thailand, more precisely Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand.

So, all the best for our club, come what may, and I'm looking forward to next season. I might try and post while I'm there, and my lad goes to a bar that shows all Forest games.

Have a great holiday, mate. Just remember to stay away from birds with tackle. 🌳

2

01 May 2026 19:12:57
I remember my best mate coming out of a room, tears streaming down his face, and shouting "It's a boy, it's a boy".
We never went on holiday to Thailand again ......... 😂😂😂😂😂

2

01 May 2026 19:29:22
Thanks for the advice, lads. Saw a few of them last time I went, so I know what to look out for this time. I'm having to take Yorkshire Tea bags and Lemsip, not much room left for clothes, but I'm assured I can get kitted out for the price of a Forest ticket.

So, if you see that an OAP has been arrested at Terminal Two, Heathrow, with a rucksack full of tea bags and flu medication, you'll know who it is!

That's Bnag out of order!!!.

Enjoy, mate!

No way was Anderson's tackle either a foul or sending off. He timed it perfectly and got the ball, no studs up. The fact that Watkins felt it and fell over doesn't mean a foul. Emery is wrong.
The tackle also set the tone of the match - meet them eye to eye and give no quarter.

2

01 May 2026 13:32:26
Honestly, mate, I feared the worst for Ando after that tackle. I can't disagree with Emery. But, heyho, about time we got lucky with VAR. 🌳

1

01 May 2026 14:25:01
Nothing lucky about it. Clean tackle won the ball, and his foot never left the ground. Football is a contact sport.

"The Geordie Maradona" was magnificent.

A good game last night between 2 evenly matched teams, despite their respective league positions. Fine margins…. Digne’s inexplicable handball, a real brain freeze. Martinez’s incredible save. Anderson should probably have got a red. I’ve seen them given for much less. The only mitigation I could see was that the ball rolled up the back of his leg, thus raising his foot to ankle height. I thought seeing it live it looked dodgy, but we will take it (if only for the comedy gold of Emri’s rant which I’ve just watched).

Before the game I wanted a win and no injuries. Ticked off the first bit but Aina didn’t look good and went off straight down the tunnel.

Shout out to Ortega. We have 2 excellent goalkeepers and Angus isn’t bad as third choice either.
Also mention of young Abbott who looked composed in his 20 minute cameo against a top class side.
Hutch continues his progress, indirectly assisted our penalty but crucially wouldn’t give to ball up and kept it in, just… as I say, fine margins.
Woody makes us look a better team by about 20 per cent on his own.

Workrate, movement, anticipation, strength. He’s got it all.
Malenkovic man of the match for me. Steady, strong, a leader and organiser. Had Watkins in his pocket for most of the game. Williams was just being his usual brilliant self.
Dominquez Mr perpetual motion. Never stopped running. Reminds me of Chris Cohen.
The much maligned Morato was faultless last night.
Generally speaking you didn’t notice the absence of Murillo, Sanghere, CHO, key players such was the motivation and effort of the lads out there. Our paucity of strength in depth was shown by the inclusion of 5 Academy lads on the bench. Have a look at their bench in contrast.
Finally, for the 3rd match in a row we had a decent ref who let the game flow such that you didn’t really notice him, which is how it should be…
Brace yourselves though, I believe we’ve got chuffing Taylor against Chelsea….
All in all, a satisfactory night's work.
By the way, who laid the post match fireworks on?

Good post Stokey.

Started reading that at 12pm, Stokey.
Im on the second chapter now. 🤣

Unai Emery's rant. Crazy, no doubt 🤣.
The VAR robotic gods seem to favour us atm. Long may that continue. COYR. 🌳

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Matchday 34 - Quick Round Up

Morning all.
Great result last night a well fought win.
Unai moaning Anderson should of been sent off!
Wood is doing fantastic since his injury.
VP starting to flourish and has many tricks up his sleeve.
Not at all Unai sour grapes sir?
Chelski next hopefully a win but I'd take a draw.
COYR.

Anderson was our MoM today. He was excellent, probably his best match for us. If the balls roll in, in the right order, i.e. Champions League football, could he stay?
MGW was a shadow of his normal self, maybe held this to VP as he is definitely not a winger. Nor for that matter is Jesus a midfielder. That was happening in the first 45.

A big shout for Morato who again had his match in a Forest shirt tonight.
Hutchison was good but could be better, i.e. stronger and quicker.
Great play tonight with both goalkeepers pulling off top class saves. It seems we now have two very good GKs.
A question finally - how come Louca is in the European squad but not Tiawo?

A great gutsy team performance from all the players, many of whom ran their socks off all night. We had some luck, yes, but our spirit dominated and was amazing. If Aina is injured, we still have Nezt, clever of Vitor to hold him back for Chelsea if that's the case.

It was edge of the seat stuff, but Anderson MoM for me and all those up front did exactly the right things.
A difficult game at Villa, but they have shown they are beatable.

Netz not in the Europa squad.

I know. I said V Chelsea.
