Just a sense of relief this morning. An end to the CH era and the club now need to move quickly to install a new manager and clear out the remnants of his back room staff. They must be as culpable as CH himself for what we have had to endure. All we can hope is that the club act wisely and give us a manager that we can get behind. This season is going to be a battle.

wrong. take some time before installing another brainless self gratiating manager.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 11:59:19
Why do they need to move quickly. I think that's part of the problem. Too quick to make rash decisions and change the plan every other week. Take time to get the right man in who maybe can steer us out of this mire.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 14:48:54
The longer it takes the deeper in the mire we will be. I may be wrong and removing the dead hand of CH alone might bring some improvement but I doubt it with his back room team still in place. A win at Huddersfield might change things for the better. We will see.

Interesting views from fans in the NP relating to Carvalho and whether he should get a run in the team. In my view there are two reasons why not. 1. Wrong time. 2. Wrong manager. We need to be scrapping to drag ourselves up the table. Not Carvalho's style of play and the way CH sets up the team will never give him the support he needs on the pitch. His first half performance at Derby and the fact that he was pulled at half time suggests that he was played out of necessity rather than choice. Derby was never going to be his type of game and it all just happened around him. Now that we have more choice after the final day of the transfer window I don't think we will see him starting a game for a while.

in truth i don't know why we are still debating carvalho. he hardly did anything out on loan and has had enough chances with us.

2.) 05 Sep 2021 17:10:19
He should get nothing but a ticket home, it’s actually embarrassing that we are still discussing it, it shows how desperately devoid we are of of any one to give our love to if we think it should be carvalho. Little magician ……. lol! Regarding the signings we shouldn’t judge until they’ve had a chance. Hope the work out even if just for the loyal souls with season tickets .

3.) 05 Sep 2021 17:40:14
I would just like to comment on the racism issue in Hungary actually in general to be frank, to judge someone based on there colour or religion or any other differences is wrong full stop in my opinion people should be judged for them selves, people weather they be a he or a she or a what have you……. should be judged for the person they are ie humanity, kindness, consideration for others, loyalty a good heart, honesty, acceptance and understanding.
Anything else regarding someone’s colour race or religion is irrelevant when judging a person for who they really are.
PEACE MAN OR WOMAN OR WHAT HAVE YOU.

4.) 05 Sep 2021 17:54:17
Carvalho should be dubbed The little Charlatan.
He's fooled football agents and managers claiming to be a decent footballer.

5.) 05 Sep 2021 18:22:44
His agent got a nice little earner,10% of 13m , it,s not actually the players fault just the idiot at Forest who sanctioned the deal , anyone watching him can see he lacks physicality and effort so vital in the uncompromising championship, crazy decision!
CARLO

6.) 05 Sep 2021 18:31:41
That was Mendes.

7.) 05 Sep 2021 20:34:48
Damson people should not be judged full stop unless you break the law.
Looking different is not a crime.

8.) 05 Sep 2021 20:56:21
Thing is 8ts only the fact he cost 13 million that passes you off.
We sold quite a few duffs for a lot of money to at a young age.
Brereton 7 million
Appiah 8 million
Assombalonga 15 million
And best of all the Scottish 100 metre champion for 13 million
The price tag is never the players fault, but the expectation is to deliver quality immediately.
For every young player that is a success with a big fee attached there are far more failures.
Lots of reasons for that but it happens.
Take it as it is.

9.) 05 Sep 2021 22:04:39
Ff79 always liked carvahallo what Di u say now 79 and really do we really after do this 13 million pound mistake from start to finish send him to Bolton if they with have him.

10.) 05 Sep 2021 23:00:36
You like hughton skeggs but he's a bigger failure than freeman.
No excuse for that mate as this plonker hasn't got an embargo to deal with.

11.) 05 Sep 2021 23:04:45
Os can we send hughton to Bolton?
Please say they will have him
Worst manger this club has ever seen.

12.) 06 Sep 2021 07:22:31
Lol 79 well between us then we have a great manager and a great no10 or the worst manager and worst expensive waste of space at forest.

13.) 06 Sep 2021 07:56:36
Carvalho and Hughton are both bad and have had more than enough chances.

14.) 06 Sep 2021 14:14:49
🤣🤣🤣Don’t preach to me Fff79, I’m a punk and have been since I was 15 and will be until I die.

15.) 06 Sep 2021 21:38:40
He’s not worth a million for how he’s played FF. like I say I can’t believe we’re still discussing him.

I am trying to think positive thoughts this morning. At least we hung on to BJ and JW at least until January. Of the window signings, Garner, Zinckernagel and Horvath are improvements on what we already have. Of the deadline day signings the nicest thing to say is that the jury is out until we see them perform. The two biggest negatives for me? We can now see where the club stands in terms of how it is viewed by professional players. We are no longer a club that players are eager to come to (and probably haven't been for a while) . Secondly, we still have a manager who plays defensively and has lost the support of large sections of the fan base. Until that changes we will continue to struggle.

1.) 01 Sep 2021 08:52:39
Redin, players should always be given a chance, obscure signings work for others, they’ve been an unmitigated disaster for us but we have to hope Murphy had better connections and he can make the difference . The West Ham lad is just a panic signing and there is no sense in it at all.

2.) 01 Sep 2021 08:52:53
The worst thing we could do is judge these players before they've kicked a ball for us, although I can understand the cynicism based on previous recruitment. Also need to bare in mind that CH will stiffle and attacking potential they have, so that also needs to be taken in to consideration when they get on the pitch. This club is going nowhere until we address the manager situation, the LB situation, the 2 defensive mid situation, and the strikers who can't score goals, but that said, aren't getting ANY service in to them.

27 Aug 2021 14:19:27
Max Lowe now joined on loan from the Blades. He has not played for them this season even though they have had a start almost as dismal as ours so the new manager obviously doesn't fancy him. Four loans in now - looks like next summer will be the same as this with loanees going back to their clubs and leaving big holes.

RedinLeics

1.) 27 Aug 2021 14:51:43
They often don't play a player if they expect to sell them. It is to avoid injury.

2.) 27 Aug 2021 17:54:26
It’s fine that they’ll all back, it’s a hood strategy as we can build a side for league one.

26 Aug 2021 13:55:25
I have watched with interest the stories about who we are interested in the transfer market. Some look reasonable, but others show that as a club we still have a morbid fascination with the lower leagues around Europe. There may be some gems to be unearthed but we have failed miserably to find any in recent years. I honestly believe that we have enough in the squad to survive, particularly if JW and BJ stay with us. But we need a change of direction and a different way of setting up the side with the players we have. That will never happen under CH. His style of play has lost him the support of the fans and that can only end one way. Even at the end of August we can forget about promotion chasing and need to focus on survival. The rebuild needs to start now. Not with a huge change in playing staff but with a change of outlook and manager.

Looks like Ferreya is going elsewhere in any case. Done well to avoid this one (apparently didn’t like the physicality of the English game) if we were ever interested in him anyway. Looking at his record I fear that we probably were!

His job prospects at Forest don’t look that bright at the moment. If CH goes the back room team are likely to follow.

Rumour now has it that he doesn’t want to come to Forest anyway so we will probably never know how good (or bad) he is. At the moment it is difficult to know whether we are being more careful about who we sign or whether players just don’t want to come to us. Time will tell I suppose.

I agree that the revolving door should remain firmly closed. But we do need some quality reinforcements if we are going to improve on last season’s 17th position. If we don’t get those signings we will have to rely on a number of other things happening, some of which are more likely than others. Samba must rediscover the form he showed when he first joined us. All of the youngsters that have been out on loan must have good first Championship seasons. Worrall must stay or be replaced with a reliable partner for McKenna. Carvalho must finally show us that he is the number 10 we have been lacking. Lolley must rediscover his best form and stay injury free. Grabban and and/ or Taylor (if he is still with us) must rediscover their goal touch.

As I say, some of these are more likely than others. But if we do not get sufficient reinforcements we need a good few of these to happen. If not, I can only see another season of struggle.

Everything looks positive so far. One thing we must all do now is give SC time and space to turn things around. Patience is required - not easy after so many years of stagnation and failure. Safety this season after an awful start will be a good beginning along with indications that we are building for the future. Hopefully we have a young manager with new ideas and a fresh outlook. The Jurassic period is over - let’s give it time and see where we can go!

I would never advocate relegation as a good thing for exactly the reasons you state Carlo. Championship survival is paramount in my book - we need to build from here, not from lower down the leagues.

I agree entirely Ff. as I have said in other posts we need to play higher up the pitch like our opponents do. Other sides play 4-2-3-1 with different outcomes to us. CH’s version of it is too negative and invites teams on to us. Because we play so deep we never have enough bodies in the box to take the few good chances that we create. As you say, it can only end one way and it has to be in time to salvage something from the season.

He should be after his radio performance after the game. It was all about matching the opposition, stopping them playing, keeping chances to a minimum. Whatever happened to attacking the opposition, pushing them back and making the goalkeeper work? We were playing Stoke City not Man City. We will do nothing while his negative, defensive hand is on the tiller. James Garner is a good addition, but we need a different playing outlook. I don’t think our players are as bad as CH makes them look.
