After 4 games last season we were 4th in the league with 9 points scoring 8 goals and conceding 4 and spent virtually nowt, this season we've managed to score 5 and concede 4, I'm not having a dig at Scorchio its just an interesting stat don't you think!

skegby red

1.) 23 Aug 2018 13:20:08
That is interesting but that just goes to show you can not judge this early as we gradually lost more and more as the season went on. The fact Aitor has been backed so heavily means he could be gone by late October if we do improve results wise, regardless of performances, not they are good at the moment.

2.) 23 Aug 2018 14:51:48
Sshhhh skegby, don't put facts on redinexille or he will be on your case now, you negative fan lol. 😁

3.) 23 Aug 2018 16:08:22
We may aswell stop playing now then.obviously we are going to fail this season after those stats.

4.) 23 Aug 2018 16:10:03
This season we are unbeaten last season we had already lost one.interesting stat don’t ya think

5.) 23 Aug 2018 16:36:03
I thought there was 42 games left or am i mistaken
I can't believe we aren't running away with the league with the amount of money we have spent. We should have promotion secured by now

6.) 23 Aug 2018 16:44:06
Now whose being negative Sutton?
Or is it a poor attempt at sarcasm?

7.) 23 Aug 2018 16:47:10
Like I said Aeons ago: after 10 matches we can start thinking about what if anything isn't working well. No chopping and changing managers or panicking about points. Let's not expect Rome to be built in a day (unless BC was there!)

8.) 24 Aug 2018 11:22:47
Match 46 points total is the time to review stats and performance; End of!

9.) 24 Aug 2018 11:44:46
Redinexile where is the fun in that.

23 Jun 2018 09:48:37
spending millions on other area's of the field apart from the most important position which is the goalkeeper, this guy (pants) will cost us promotion, he's not good enough 4th choice at Watford tells the story.

Jose Sa

2.) 23 Jun 2018 12:35:29
Redtree, do you rate him.

3.) 23 Jun 2018 16:16:22
The Pants story at Watford is that the last 4 managers have each signed a goalkeeper and the pecking order reflects the order they were signed rather than their ability!

Pants is an upgrade on our recent keepers and will be a good addition albeit there are other good keepers available but AK needs to balance his budget and so will not be paying top dollar for a keeper given the strikers we need to sign.

18 Birmingham 41 11 13 17 46
19 Nott'm Forest 41 12 09 20 45
20 Burton 41 11 12 18 45
21 Bristol City 41 12 08 21 44
22 Blackburn 41 09 13 19 40
23 Wigan 41 09 10 22 37
24 Rotherham 41 04 05 32 17

Last season league table Blackburn got 11 points from their last 5 games, IMO we will need similar to last season's 51 points to be safe, not putting my mortgage on it though but to me 3 points on Tuesday is vital.

1.) 08 Apr 2018 08:58:51
To be honest there is no way I can see us going down but joking aside with karanka he's got a long way to go with this team as would any other manager that as or would take us on there will never be a quick fix chuck all the money you like at it we're at least half a squad away and a good 2 seasons to get a team to play together so let's see the fans who are backing karanka now will still be backing him next season if we're still in the same position he as the potential he's proved it at Middlesbrough but it's going to be no quick fix that simples.

2.) 08 Apr 2018 09:24:16
We can't score, a point would be helpful.

LEAGUE TABLE 2016/ 2017

14 Birmingham 34 11 10 13 43
15 Aston Villa34 10 12 12 42
16 Ipswich 34 10 12 12 35
17 QPR 34 11 7 16 40
18 Forest 34 10 7 17 37
19 Burton 34 9 9 16 36
20 Wolves 32 9 8 15 35
21 Bristol City34 9 6 19 33
22 Blackburn 33 8 9 16 33
23 Wigan 34 7 10 17 31
24 Rotherham 34 4 5 25 17

Birmingham almost got relegated and they were in 14th position last season after 34 games, Blackburn gained 18 points from the last 13 matches and as we all know were only relegated by goal difference on 51 points, so we're by no means out of trouble in an unpredictable league, it would be interesting to see where you well informed intelligent guy's think we will finish and predictions on who will go down?

skegby red

1.) 28 Feb 2018 10:33:45
55-60 points. Not sure who goes down but it won't be us.Good stats Skegby 👌🏼

2.) 28 Feb 2018 11:00:49
Think Sunderland birmingham and either Burton, mainly on their home for,Or reading.
Like you say skegby it's by no means over yet.
We should get three points against Brum, but then it's a tough run in.
Great win against QPR but conceded two again and nearly three with the one that hit the bar.
Feel a bit sorry for Smith as he's been demoted to third choice and we are still conceding goals.
For all his height pants doesn't command his box in the air.

3.) 28 Feb 2018 13:04:31
I saw Pants claim more high balls v QPR than Smith did all season.

About 3 I think.

4.) 28 Feb 2018 13:41:57
He commands his area very well and talks to his defenders a lot more than Smith ever did.

5.) 28 Feb 2018 13:47:49
Thought personally he should have stopped both goals.
So far he's only conceded one less than Smith did under Karanka and that's taking into account mancienes suicide performance against Preston which accounted for three.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Greek lad given a go as pants is not going to be a long term solution to me.

6.) 28 Feb 2018 14:12:02
FF79
The whole is always better than the sum of the individual parts. The defenders look more solid because they have some proper protection in front and a more commanding keeper behind them.
Smith is good but is going to struggle to be a top class keeper.
Karanka has called it right on all his inherited squad so far so on this occasion you are the one talking utter Pants!

7.) 28 Feb 2018 14:32:36
We shall See but in my opinion he won't keep many clean sheets.
Take a look at the QPR goals and the one that hit the bar,he was all over the place.

8.) 28 Feb 2018 18:28:09
Tough run in FF79? Apart from Cardiff away, with my eternal optimism, I can't see us not taking something from the rest of the games. Granted we may not win most of them but Norwich, Boro, Sheff Utd, Ipswich and Direby all beatable if we continue to show improvement. Millwall away probably toughest game left, after Cardiff away?

9.) 28 Feb 2018 19:23:18
79, you were on his case from day 1 to be honest fella and gave him a scathing review of his debut, the guys doing alright.

Some people don't seem to have handled the manager/team changes very well, Skegativity another one.

10.) 28 Feb 2018 19:25:15
Think your right mate with Cardiff and Millwall Scouse.
Sheff utd sheep Bristol city Ipswich Norwich Brentford? That's tough mate and I'm glad we have a cushion now.
Like I say we are still conceding and we won't outscored all of those.
Pants like I say has only conceded one less goal in the same number of games as Smith did that's what still worries me.
He saved a penalty and was so busy congratulating himself,he missed the corner and it's a goal, fox and Toby have only played against poor opposition and I'm more worried about fox than Toby he looks ok,which is good as we have to pay 2.3 million for him at the end of the season.
It was great to see the attacking display and I'll hold my hands up at this minute to tomlin, but how good would he be if he lost some weight?
I'll tell you he wouldn't be on loan to us.
It's interesting from the table at this time last year that you wouldn't have expected any of the bottom three to go on a run but Blackburn did and nearly pulled it off,so until the points are safe best not to take things for granted

11.) 28 Feb 2018 19:35:33
Hey up ginger whoa whoa 😮 he’s doing ok but no chosen ☝️In my estimations he gets 9-10 months to prove if he’s any good or he will be shipped out like the rest of them 🤪

12.) 28 Feb 2018 19:40:24
Gingerkid there is one goal difference to what they've conceded in same number of games,he's not that good my freind that's all.

13.) 28 Feb 2018 19:40:27
As far as Forest are concerned, nothing is taken for granted. My optimism is from our engine room, Watson and Colbeck are what we have been missing for literally years. Now we are hopefully not so easy to beat, we have a chance of solid draws and even wins against those teams. Honestly think Derby are for the taking too. FTID.

14.) 28 Feb 2018 19:52:44
We are Scouse those two look great but Smith didn't have the opportunity to play behind them?
Pants is and is still conceding at more or less the same rate?

15.) 28 Feb 2018 20:50:39
I agree, I think it's one of those 'I picked him, so I'll play him' situations. I rate Smith and think a season on loan will improve him further. Distribution and communication his weaknesses but as a young man he has many years in front of him. Especially as a goalkeeper. His saves definitely kept us up last year and for that I will be eternally grateful.

16.) 28 Feb 2018 21:05:17
Think demoting him to third choice is an absolute disgrace though.
If I were him I'd move on and play behind a better defence to show how good he is.
10 years younger than pants and at least as good if not better.
Distribution might have been an issue under warbo, but we just kick it long under Karanka,so that's not a problem.

17.) 28 Feb 2018 21:27:54
Again I have to agree, AK has offered a route back in words but his actions have been pretty damning. AK has obviously decided he can only have youth in certain positions, goalie not one of them. I'm sure I've suggested, in the past,he's 'using' Forest as a stepping stone. Unfortunately potential gets you nowhere, probably why he's brought in so many experienced players. To be fair I admire his ruthlessness, Smith just unluckier than most.

18.) 28 Feb 2018 21:34:48
That's a great summing up of the manager Scouse.

19.) 28 Feb 2018 21:39:55
It's all a bit rich from FF79 criticising new players hitting the ground running and turning around a situation that was getting out of hand WHILE spending the first half of the season defending Matt Mills et al and tippy tappy week in week out.

Brentford away told us the writing was on the wall when it came to defending and Matt Mills!

Under AK we will see improvements over the season and while we will still concede until we start killing games off in the first 20 mins its clear we are now capable of coming back and managing games which is something Warbo's team could never do?

So celebrate your cheap season ticket offer and open your eyes from your prime view in the stands as to how the team works as a whole and not focussing on individuals who are out performing those that have gone and our light weight Warbo midfield?

20.) 28 Feb 2018 23:47:48
I'll buy mine anyway how about you?
If your talking about focusing on individual player's you already have with Matt mills and quite a few others.
I really hope your right and we've turned a corner, but I'd rather wait and see than get carried away by a win over QPR as even warbo managed four nil against them and that was with Smith in goal.
Hope we get goals in first twenty mins then red?
No we got a great goalkeeper no worries?
My view is very clear in the stands and I havn't seen a victory yet.
I'm expecting one Saturday and no excuses.

21.) 28 Feb 2018 23:55:50
Smith is a great shot stopper. Unfortunately there's a lot more to goalkeeping than that.Even MW wanted a new keeper so both he and AK must be wrong about Smith then 🙈

22.) 01 Mar 2018 00:35:37
Not got a problem perks with bringing in some one better but pants ain't.
At most he's as good.
Give the Greek a go now?
He's on a contract,pants isn't and won't get better?

Great article on the shoot. co. uk website, I know there's not many but all the people on here who have defended what Fawaz has done should read this, If you have defended him then I can't believe you've been down to the city ground and actually watched twisty!

He was good as everyone knows, he's been sold. And?

This article looks as though it is written by a fan and not a journalist, although I agree with the guy it does not tell us anything we don't know.

I agree with BDT33 and Van Morgan if all of our midfielders are fit Mackie will be on the bench at best, he just hasn't got the composure to play a telling pass or deliver a final ball, but can't fault the guy's effort but we need more to challenge for promotion, by the way I think Matty Fryatt and Chris Burke are outstanding signings, a midfield 4 of Burke, Reid, Vaughan and Lansbury is the best midfield we've had for a very long time certainly the best in the championship, coyr up and at em

Vey wise signing, we now know that Lichaj won't be fit for the start of the season and with the signing of Michael Mancienne we have two very compitant right backs, SP must have wached video's of Greg Halford at right back last season lol

Good luck to the breadman thought he was given a tough ask with us with very little money to spend , I think he did a good job bringing the kids through and given the time and the backing who knows , John McGInn is probably the bargain of the season for Villa ,had we signed him things might have been very different .

Agree 2tone 22/24 points should see us get there but a big ask but not impossible 12 games to go , 6 wins 4 draws 2 losses could do it
