agreed 99 we need to invest in a youngster or two. i remember when BC put a young kid Terry Wilson in as emergency CB. used to run around like a drunk baby giraffe!but he was a fighter got stuck in every game.we could do with a bit of that spirit.

Agree with you munmad, add to that Bindon on loan and Carmo sold to olmypico and Savona long term injured. Looking to sign a 4th goalie, signing two midfielders who won't play for us and no new CF. Weird window all round.
We were saying at work how this could be a mad season outside of the usual Arsenal-Man C 1,2 finish.

Hard to say, Cyclist, where we'd be, mate. Of the 10 permanent managers Mr M's employed, he struck lucky with SC, a brilliant one who took us from the bottom of the Championship, where Hughton had got us, to promotion. The team that took us up didn't cost our owner to put together either. Just mostly good loans (Spence Davies), academy products (Worrall, Johnno and Yates), and the rest sound professionals.
I think we've stayed up despite our owner, not because of him. His chaotic and impulsive style has caused us to struggle in 3 of 4 seasons instead of becoming an established Premiership club.
He didn't back Nuno, the other genius manager who got us into Europe, siding with Edu, and he sacked another promising appointee in disgraceful fashion to bring in OG with his entirely different system.
Don't even get me started on the 4 FFP deduction, the spitting near a ref, the storming onto the pitch and humiliation of Nuno, the public slagging off of refs, and the myriad duff signings.
I'm not his greatest fan tbh.

Yes, old pal, I have seen the glory days and the really bad days. Maranakis, even though I don't like some of his antics and decisions, which I have stated in the past, has the passion to make us a decent club again. And, the kids now, at the same age I was, get to see European football and top games, us mixing it with the best, so they can pass their great times on to their kids and grandkids and get them supporting Forest.

It’s pure speculation as to where we’d be in the football pyramid pre or post Marinkinakos.
RRH, you fail to understand that billionaire owners are merely the temporary custodians of football clubs. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be extremely rich. The fans themselves, their descendants and ancestors are emotionally invested in the club forever. My grandads, at least one great grandad and my Dad were Forest fans. I have passed the baton on to my kids and my grandkids. They and their descendants are the true owners of football clubs and will always have a stake in them ( with their hard earned cash as well as their hearts) long after the Greek billionaire and his ilk have passed into history.
A proper football fan would know this instinctively.

Skegs, I think ive seen us play at every level apart from League Two. Couple of League Cups, when I was old enough to not know my a*s from my armpit. But that has been as good as it gets, then season after season in Championship limbo, finally ended by a fantastic day at Wembley, after an absolutely shocking game by the way. I think my crowning moment of despair came at Home Park. We went up across the Tamar (nosebleed territory) to watch us lose, stuck in the home end with some of my mates (Green Army Monkeys).
Only for David Norris to take a dive in the last minute, definitely was a sniper in the stands, I swear, especially with the way he went down. Woke up the next day missing a tooth, mind you my mate had a busted nose and two black eyes. Beer and a car full of 20 year olds, one with a mega sulk on (me) was never a good mix. ??

I think it's fair to say the big man is no angel, and he has made what appear to be poor decisions. Edu, the most obvious one.
However, there is no doubting his passion and ambition. This is our 5th season in the prem. Who would have thought that at the turn of the decade.
At the end of the day, it's his club. His money.
My opinion, without him, Forest would be somewhere between Leicester and Derby.
Og has been a slow burner at all his previous clubs. Keep the faith, get behind him, and hopefully the good times will come.

Redfrog, easy to spend other peoples money mate £75m for 2 defenders is bad business for us. Mr Ms transfer deals over the last few years have been awesome overall. Our form was poor end of last season and in the friendlies. We started the season with a strong squad, a win and a draw. Nuno was the problem.
I'm sure we'll sign a couple of players before the window closes but wether the players can adapt quickly to Glasners 3-4-2-1 in the strongest league in the world is the key! I think we'll struggle early on.
Football's a crazy world. VP would've got a big pay rise and a thank you in any other profession, football he gets the hook.

I'd be going for Zane Flemming with the Anderson money. cant believe Fernandes cost Spurs £85m for a player who gets relegated every year. £100m Tonali crazy.
Flemming best player at Fortuna goes 2 Milwall for £2m, top player there goes to Burnley for £7m best player there. Scored 45 goals in 164 games over 4 years. Can only get better.
My worry is the manager change VP had got us flying and now we, ve changed to a guy who plays mostly 3-4-2-1 so we, ve spent £100m on wingers he doesnt need and dont have strong wingbacks he always plays with?
Can see Ndoye scoring loads playing behind the striker hope we keep him. See us in the top 10 all season no worries.

That's one of the many downsides when you have as many managerial changes as we do, Shepp. Different systems, preferences and lack of continuity.
At least OG has a pre-season, but it's not ideal. I'm sure the lads don't know if they are coming or going (literally in the case of our redundant wingers), mate.

If you're a good manager you can manage. Nuno came in and nobody, even the fans, thought we could get into Europe in that season. If the players are already there, and you can get the best out of them, it will happen.
Glasner already knows he has a top ten team, keeping the backbone of the side. A couple of good players, top 6. That's why they're not panicking into giving silly money away for signings.

rutland, felippe is 34 i think so just can't see him playing for us again we, ve been linked with this Nino from Fluminesce coming in Jan for 6m and we've got the norwich lad waiting for his chance too. not sure if buying so many players from africa and s america instead of europe is a great idea when you lose so many for there tournaments each year but not complaining very lucky to have a chairman like Mr M prepared to splash the cash :-)

Hi LC watched Whyte play for NIreland v Estonia at the weekend and he did nothing!.Jordan jones there other winger whos going to rangers only came on for 20 minutes and bossed the game.probably not fair to judge someone on one game but I woudnt take him on a free.

Agree with you, retty. Cho might have been struggling with fitness cos of his injury, but he doesn't look like VP's type of player. Can see him being sold in the summer if we keep playing this style.
Saw a report from Germany saying Kalimeundo can't wait to get back to us next season. Think he'll do well in that No10 slot like Jesus. Buzzing for the Villa game, should be a cracker.

i think we only have 4 CBs cyclist murillo, ombelli, boly and nkhate, no-one in the u21s is ready so we need to buy at least one more. does, nt mean Murillo is going anywhere.
wont believe we need to sell until someone at the club says it, we haven't spent anywhere near what we did 2 years ago and we have an extra year in the prem to add onto our allowance maybe 80mil instead of 60 (who knows! ).
if we get 30 mill from mangala, worrall, obrien, bowler. greekgoalie, turner, panzo, etc we can't be that far off being ok.
if we Che Adams on a free and the brazil goalie for £4 mill it sounds like smarter people are in charge of the money now anyway.
