There comes a point in most manager's tenure where they reach the tipping point between being in control of events and being vulnerable to the axe. I think SL crossed that point yesterday. Judging from his desperate tone yesterday he knows it too. There comes a point when no one can see how it can be turned around even with the new signings. Although still early in the season, Friday's game is important. Lose to another struggler and I believe the axe will fall and we will be back on the managerial merry go round.

I agree with most posters on here today. We have been dire all season. We have struggled against teams of limited ability and resources but plenty of heart and on last night's evidence there is a massive gulf between us and the teams that aspire to be at the top of the table. I thought CH had a two season project on his hands. I now think it is three seasons. Get us safe this season, rebuild next (and the rebuild needs to be extensive) and push for promotion in the third. Of course, we all know that he won't get that long.

68 you are quite right . CH is a manager of recent proven abilities. He has been given a disjointed squad and has to develop a team from this group. As an example Knockaert is a player of proven ability who does not gel yet with his team mates. Lolly must have more problems than we know . Ameobi is a talented but mercurial. Yates needs to be coached how to head a ball as he is our most forward thinking mid fielder. Taylor will not score 20 this season and we need Grabbon back ASAP. Watson is missed and Colback not the replacement maybe the club hoped. It makes you realise how we miss Silva, Cash, Watson and Worrall . McKenna is an asset but Christie and Fig need replacing next match. Sadly we do not have a Grealish type figure as although Yates has his enthusiasm he does not have the skill and is in the Osborne mould of a player. I is very difficult for CH . Everyone is saying change the team or is better to play essentially the same team to try and build up a team spirit and unity. I am sure that is what his aim is his lack of Subs last night . I hope we can beat Swansea as that will engender belief in the side . To keep on losing is too demoralising. But a plea for no more new players but I would probably reduce my loan players by as much as I can . Then get the under 23s playing.

Doc m the service to Taylor is worse than grabban got last year he’s got no chance,

Most disappointing signing of the Summer? Luke Freeman.

And according to a lot of over excited fans he was the attacking midfielder we'd been so desperate for and was going to score loads of goals 😂.
He's absolute dross, a poor man's Tomblin with even more timber.
Not a patch on Tiago Silva.

Most depressing forest fan lol.

Hi Skeggy how are you keeping mate? 👍.

I hope the owner is going to show some patience with CH. I think he has got a hell of a job on sorting us out. He is saddled with players who were not playing under the previous manager and with players brought in during the summer that are nowhere near being in the squad. Surely this will eventually have an influence on the number of players CH can bring in without breaching FFP. This is at least a 2 season
project in my view. All of us, including the owner, will need to have patience while CH sorts it out.

The thing that worries me as much as anything is that 3 of the 4 teams to beat us so far are currently what you would think of as bottom half of the table teams. We always struggle against direct teams and Cardiff's goals were classic examples of why that is. No goals and none of the 4 teams have struggled to beat us. Add on the poor form at the end of last season and there is only one conclusion to draw. I have supported Lamouchi until the last couple of games and now is the the time for him to go. There are many things that need changing. Confidence and, it appears, motivation are needed. We need to ditch the defensive midfield set up. One of Colback, Sow and Yeats should play to offer defensive cover. The other midfielders should be more forward thinking. SL is not willing or able to make these changes. We have some decent players who, if used in the right way, can at least pull us into mid-table. Every day that goes by without making the change just makes it harder for the head coach that follows.

Red I think it’s right to worry. The four teams we’ve played (including Barnsley) were awful. We can’t defend or score and no pattern of play.

2.) 26 Sep 2020 11:39:51
Agreed red68. If you go back to the last six games at end of season culminating with the catastrophy of stoke people like me and baloons called for the immediate sacking of lanouchi. Stevie wonder could see that the plot was lost and the collapse was down to poor leadership and awful boring tactics.
So if you look back and think from the stoke moment if you keep this manager we will lose the first 4 matches of the new season without scoring a goal you might think impossible. I am not ALLKNOWING but could see that fsilure to act then was an horrendous mistake and the nightmare continues. I feel, though misguided that marinakis has acted in good faith by supporting Lamouchi. Unfortunately its the blind leading the blind and we are now in a perilous state which, like a great big greek tankership, will be very slow and difficult to turn around.

The NP are making a big deal about Ribeiro being left out. It was surprising based on his form last season but it's not the reason we lost. We lost because we are a team without ideas going forward, little confidence and lack of urgency. SL's season will be short if he can't turn it around quickly.

Red68

1.) 13 Sep 2020 17:20:53
I think the reason we lost is because he won’t field his best eleven players, plays Yates and da costa neither of who are good enough yesterday ameobi should have played and ribeiro too,

2.) 13 Sep 2020 17:30:06
I agree about looking low on confidence but ask Grabban if he had any chances. For the limited chances per game we created last season I still remember loads of relatively easy chances Grabban missed and he should easily have scored 30 plus. We don’t dominate and bully teams in the centre of the pitch. Neither Colback, Bach or Yates will do it I’m afraid.

3.) 13 Sep 2020 17:51:38
I agree with you stevie, but I don’t think its just that mate my opinion is that no one at the club wants or knows how to set up an attacking team . the players that we have at the moment can't do it because we haven’t the skills or pace to do it, and if we keep on buying defenders we never will have.

I don’t think there is much doubt that the fault lies with the players, Rutland. CH may get an occasional tune out of them this season but at the end of the day it is still a knackered old jukebox as you call it. Our recruitment policy is to blame in large part. There is a perfect example in Ivan Toney. He was available at a price we could afford but we didn’t go and get him. He is now banging in goals for Brentford and looks hungry every time I have seen him play. Admittedly he wouldn’t have scored as many goals for us as the service to him would not have been so good but he is the type of hungry player we should be after.

No full backs or wing backs in either of these formations. Looks like a suicide mission to me!

We shipped out two number 10s in the transfer window. Neither of them particularly convincing but at least it was their true position. I am struggling to see what Freeman is.

A point tomorrow and a win over Rotherham in mid week and we will be up and running.

Paul Cooke would be a good shout. Did well at Wigan on tight resources. Sadly he is not the sort of coach that would appeal to the owners. If SL departs it will be someone similar from abroad.
