Bit of momentum picking up behind this Darlow not wanting to sign for Newcastle deal. Anyone got any information? Does seem strange that no announcement has been made

Mod Red

1.) Taking a while as the football league need to sanction the loans its still going ahead as planned

2.) Totally agree. Would have thought there would have been some kind of confirmation by now and clearly something is holding it up. Heard anything ed?

{Ed034's Note - its been said that we are just waiting for clearance on the loans

3.) Not heard a peep anywhere. If there is momentum surely it's been reported somewhere?

4.) 07 Aug 2014 09:14:19
Could explain why forest may be tempted to sell Lansbury

5.) If true would complicate things with this FFP rubbish! That's the money for Assombong Atombong Asunbongo, that player we have signed from posh! Might have him on sale of return? Never know with Fawaz!

6.) 07 Aug 2014 09:49:29
rumour that Darlow can't agree terms and Forest want no recall adding to terms

7.) Ed, if we are waiting for loans to be cleared, does that mean neither can play on Saturday

{Ed034's Note - if they go through tomorrow, yes. don't expect lascelles to play and I think darlow could be 50-50

8.) It wouldn't surprise me if Darlow has a change of mind. 1st choice here and will be in prem next season with us. If he does go to Newcastle he will be bench warming
Next season. I know what I'd do. And why would Lansbury want burnley they will struggle all season and be relegated. May aswel go up with us. Hold out for at least 5m if he goes and clause to buy him back for less if he came back down with burnley lol

9.) I have to say; agree with Ed completely based on previous posts: the above post is disrespectful. Burnley are in a better position than Forest. When I last checked Forest were not in the Premier League where as Burnley are. To say Forest will get promoted is arrogant and rather ignorant. We have all been saying that for the last 10+ years yet here we are in the Championship. A little respect people.

As for Darlow, would love it if he doesn't agree contract and stays at Forest. That said, where would we stand in terms of FFP and sponsorship etc?

10.) How can you say that marco that burnley will be relegated and we'll be promoted a lot of good teams in the championship. If Lansbury wants to go let him. Pearce told him if you want a better contract earn it time for him to step up or take the easy way out

{Ed034's Note - I also seem to recall the exact same thing being said about guedioura.

11.) Pearce has now stated that both deals are done still not sure why no confirmation but both have signed on for 6 years 30k a week each. The information on the contracts is from Alan Nixon. The confirmation of deal is from Pearce.

12.) I don't blame them, I would have signed for £29,000 per week. All I can say is best of luck lads.

Alan nixon confirms we are in talks with Antonio from Sheffield weds

Mod Red

1.) Is that Antonio Banderas who used to be married to Melanie Griffith.

2.) Would be a good addition.

3.) Few real ball or positional skills,
just runs up field, clumsy headers and doesn't help defend

{Ed034's Note - most assists in the league season before I have been told

4.) Pretty average player.

5.) I watched him a few times last year and he is what we need a pacey winger. I watched him against fester and he look very good. I would be happy with this if the price is right.

6.) A weds fan at work told me that weds are trying to do a swap with Antonio for cox, so there might be some pace in this rumour

{Ed034's Note - cox in talks with reading

7.) Just looked on football league site and he was about 12th top assits 2012/2013 and about 50th last season.
i still think he would be a good addition to the squad if the price is right. would add pace to the wing (which fans want) and can score the odd goal.

Rumours on social media saying we are being sponsored by the kuwaiti government and in the deal we will be renaming the city ground to the kuwaiti city ground and the sponsor on the shirt will be KUW. Massive investment if true. This has been translated by a kuwaiti fan from an interview Fawaz did yesterday.

Mod Red

1.) Been reading this all over various sites for last hour of so various social media sites exploding with the news, personally I think it's fantastic and the only way we will ever get that 3rd star with massive investment

2.) This is fantastic news if true iam not saying its not true but I will wait for fawaz to confirm it.this could be massive if it comes off coyrs

3.) Seen a newspaper article dated 17 July in Kuwait that seems to support this

4.) Power to Fawaz!
KUWAITICITY for all your energy needs. This deal will generate and propel us onwards and upwards!
Hopefully we will sign up some more bright sparks and light up the Championship?

5.) If its worth more than the 75mill paid each year to Manchester United bring it on chips and gravy

6.) There're are reports that Fawaz also mentioned that he is going to, give it two more years to, make the premiership. This will be the end of his and his families 5 year investment plan to get a return on their investment in Forest - after that if it's not achieved he will seek another buyer and move on.

7.) I agree! It would fantastic news its true but like gazza2969 I now need the confirmation via tweet or statement from Fawaz to really star dreaming.

8.) I didn't see that anywhere Willow it just states he hopes to get us promoted in the next two years. Nothing about backing out or selling it doesn't even mention a five year plan in the text.

9.) And it looks like the worst translation ever, what do you reckon to the rumour Ed?

{Ed034's Note - just read it and I'm trying to get a better version

10.) Not sure how I feel about this. I appreciate what Fawaz is doing for our club and hopefully it will return us to the premier league but why change the stadium name to promote a government. If it was a full commercial and commodity based reason such as renaming it to adidas or sports direct something with obvious commercial links I could understand but a government? I know it's probably just a rouse to drag more money in but I don't know something just don't sit right with me and I can't quite place it. What are your thoughts ed?

{Ed034's Note - it's not only good for the short term with money coming in but long term to, with it giving us publicity and in Kuwait

11.) Hi Ed, first ever post on here. Great site, thanks for your hard work. I'm not casting doubt on this rumour and think if it helps us long term then great. If this has been in the pipeline though, wouldn't we have seen some higher profile signings by now? Maybe they're on their way? What are your thoughts?

{Ed034's Note - thanks and welcome aboard

12.) Mod red - my post / source via bird site has retranslated the Fawaz interview and it basically says that unless the club gets promoted in the next two years the losses will be unsustainable and believes it will hit fawaz's investment threshold. Also went on to say that yen investment from the Kuwait govt will be minimal.

{Ed034's Note - if it's the same one which I have seen, ignore him. Knows nothing

13.) Does anyone have any idea of maybe a timescale of when this is supposed to happen? Not sure how I feel about the renaming of our ground but the investment sounds like a good idea, would surely help around FFP.

14.) Why all this negativity about renaming the City Ground? With the sort of investment that is being banded about, for me they can call it what they can call it what ever they like. This could possibly result in the club getting a new stadium.

15.) Hoping for good things from this, but even in translation there is no mention of money or investment levels, I know he won't accept sponorship for nothing, but ill wait until I see genuine figures before getting too excited.

{Ed034's Note - we know he paid it himself last season and that any desk would need to at least match that

Source online saying we are bidding for huddersfields adam clayton 1. 75mil. Take with a pinch of salt anyone know him or anything about him coming to us? Apparently we are beating boro to him.

Rumoured that we are in talks to sign both Jobi Mcanuff and Mikele Leigertwood (excuse the spelling) also went to pick up my away shirt before the ilkeston game and the new home shirt is fairly decent. Some red pinstripes on it that aren't on the pictures online. I think once more people see it in the club shop opinions will change. Nice basic shirt.

Mod Red

1.) For backup players, not bad. Cover on the wings and midfield is all we really need and I think the loan market will cover that instead of older free agents.

2.) Just a year older than Reidy, both steady performers, good back up, still got a few years in the tank if they look after themselves, no transfer fee, leaves money for a couple more maybe one cash buy, SP said youth is important to him but he must know we have one of the youngest squads around so there is room for a couple of older heads on short contracts. Not the BIG ones we are all hoping for but okay.

3.) Neither are good or young enough for Reading, let alone us.
Need better. McLeary for example

{Ed034's Note - what has aged got to do with it when they are on a free? Would you not have Reid or Vaughan in?
Leigertwood is certainly good enough and will give option, depth and presence in the centre of the park.

To all concerned regarding the rumours around duplicate tickets. I've called the ticket office today and have had the following confirmed to me.

Duplicate tickets were sold in the upper clough stand.

Everyone who is effected has been reallocated their ticket.

It was around 50 to 100 people effected and they were all quickly contacted and reallocated.

Tickets remain on sale but it is very limited.

Anyone can call the ticket office and get the same information but please spread the word if anyone asks thanks all.

With Fox Harding and even Lichaj being capable at left back have we got a ready made quality replacement in Cohen to take Lansburys place in midfield if he's on his way out with mancienne Laing Osbourne and a few others able to capably take on the role aswell and Lansbury doesn't give us more than 25 games a season Would he really be a season effecting loss? I'd take 4mil and trust Pearce to reinvest.4mil can buy you a reasonable striker and a cm which is all I think we need to complete our squad.

Mod Red

1.) As I have said before. We have plenty of quality in midfield but what we don't have apart from Vaughan, are midfield holding players. Lansbury's record in yellow cards and injuries is not good. Sell him, get two good midfield holders and move on. Now.

08 Aug 2014 20:49:19
Everyone suggesting we would be lost without Lansbury if he went. I don't know if I agree with you he is a very talented player no doubt about it. But this season we will be lucky to get 25 games out of him. Mancienne Laing Osbourne and Halford if he's still around can all do a job in there and I've no doubt Pearce would have an amazing young signing to fill his boots if he was to leave. So support him to the hilt whilst he's here because he is class but if a good offer comes in we can handle that. COYRS I cannot wait until 3pm tomorrow. Psycho psycho psycho

Mod Red

1.) Osborne maybe as he's got some of the attacking qualities of Henri. But the other 3 are essentially defenders who might play a holding role they won't replace henri. And Halford you're having a laugh ;)

2.) With our long standing pace, width & goals issues solved in double quick time, thankfully our square pegs in round holes days are firmly behind us. Everyones preference is for Lansbury to stay, but you won't get the same player if he's not fully committed. Osbourne is an option, but we should feel safe in the knowledge that Pearce can attract quality to our club. Good times ahead starting tomorrow.

Rumours circulating we may be in for Vaughan from Huddersfield. A bit injury prone isn't he??

Mod Red

{Ed003's Note - Very.}

1.) Should settle in very quick

2.) The last thing we need is an injury prone player.i think with ffp this year being even tougher than last season loans are the way to go as none of us really know how much this new sponsorship deal is worth.

I've said previously he would be a great signing a bit like Wickham but was unlucky to lose his place to the vardy nugent partnership when injured and now surplus. Snap him up. Anything less than 1.5mil would be a bargain for the lad

Would really like this to happen he was loaned out in the championship last season and although perhaps not a starter he has pace and a good footballing head can play striker or winger. Be a good loanee.

Think that this rumour has come from an online source suggesting additions that would suit us (6 signings for Nottingham Forest on a seach engine should find it) I haven't seen us actually linked. But you never know. Its a fresh article today too.

Agreed but two injuries up front and a few bad results people would be back to abuse. Like I say I'm staying cautiously optimistic and hoping for top 6

Mod Red

I'm not trying to be pessimistic there ed I'm behind a promotion push all the way and think the squad looks amazing. But we were 10 points from 4 games last year and I just hope we keep a realistic sense of expectation so I don't have to take to twitter or on here to ask people to stop abusing players chairmen and staff haha its too early to rule out or rule in any team let's just enjoy the winning feeling and hope it takes us all the way to the prem

Mod Red

{Ed034's Note - there is a massive difference from last to this. We still have players coming back, we have two goalscorers upfront, we have pace on one wing, we have class on the other, we have options all over the pitch and we have a manager who is imaginative during games.
We would never have got anything out of the Bournemouth game last season, but to come out of it with all three points just shows the difference in our club this season

I've had a word with nixon and he thinks it will be a sell on fee based on spurs profit. They paid 4mil they're selling at 4mil so no profit which means no sell on fee. Shame though

Ok but let's not get ourselves carried away either we beat a scrambled together Blackpool side then struggled against a league 2 side in the cup then had to come back to salvage a point against an incomplete Bolton team only playing well in patches we then got hammered at Bournemouth for 65mins before two clinical strikes gave us a smash and grab. And as for Reading they have injuries and we didn't play their best 11. We played well though. So I'd say it's a bit premature to say we are a team in form. Maybe after 15 games we can start to look at gelled teams etc. For now we are a new team with a new manager doing very well and looking good. Quietly confident. But it's 42 games to go we've played 7% of the season. Let's praise the team but not think about setting the bar too high. Take every game as it comes. In Pearce I trust. COYRS

Mod Red

{Ed034's Note - blimey

Lansbury is back in training today. Vaughan will be starting training over the weekend Fox will more than likely be at centre back meaning Harding gets another shot but agree has impressed so far this season. The Halford rumour is no closer he's been training with our squad. Cohen and Reid will both back in midfield against Bolton. Danny Collins has been told he can leave if he can find a club but is being professional and making himself available for match days. Hobbs will partner Fox against Bolton after 90 mins at tranmere
