Iacovitti gone. Ariyibi almost gone. .

1.) 21 May 2019 19:01:18
Lacovitti does not count as is a academy player, hardly going to save the club a fortune.

2.) 21 May 2019 20:18:21
I never said he would save us anything.

3.) 21 May 2019 20:38:55
I know, but the club need to get rid of the players in the main squad that have no future under Martin that will save them a lot of money.

Lacovitti leaving might interest some but his leaving is not going to ease the clubs fiancรฉ's by much.

I just wanted to point it out, i was not trying to say you were saying that.

4.) 21 May 2019 21:04:09
If we've got his "fiancee" to pay off, just give her a bunch of flowers.
That should do.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

5.) 21 May 2019 23:44:40
Hes saving us the dread of watching him trying to play left back?
Needs to drop down the divisions and play.

6.) 22 May 2019 13:57:58
That's "Blooming" marvelous mate!!!
๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒป

25 Feb 2019 21:43:34
That was tense. Last year we would have let a couple in in extra time. Different spirit out there now!

We were out of luck, but what is a real plus is that MON/RK worked out how Preston play and stopped them doing just that. We had some bad luck and Grabban failed to take a chance, but we are moving our formations around and the two central defenders are stopping the old aerial threats and crosses.

We are improving and holding our own. Never give up: other results could surprise everyone. Hang in there and see if we can sweep up a few wins after Direby. This League can change rapidly, teams can falter, players can get injured, We look a much better team now, they need all our help on Monday!

Agreed mate . we're heading into the "Squeaky bum" part of the season. just watch what happens in the next month, some crazy results are coming.

05 Feb 2019 12:51:52
Soudani out for the rest of the season. We do seem to pick up duds.

bsered

1.) 05 Feb 2019 13:21:18
Utter waste. He never looked fit

2.) 05 Feb 2019 15:48:40
Worse still he never looked any good

3.) 05 Feb 2019 16:34:53
Said it before and Iโ€™ll say it again, couldโ€™ve got Jack Marriot for the same transfer fee. Albeit Marriot rising to ยฃ6m dependant on appearances, goals etc; but he is into double figures goals wise, plays every game and never stops running and chasing down. Soudani is a dud, spends most of his time on the injured list and is a waste of money.
Another duff signing.

4.) 05 Feb 2019 17:19:13
So are we blaming this one on Team Marinakis or Aitor Karanka?

C'mon chaps, gimme a thumbs down if AK is to blame again, I like to be kept in the loop on this blame game.

5.) 05 Feb 2019 19:55:48
I'd say he wanted him as he tried to get him in the Jan window along with Dawson.
You've got to admit mate he is crap, one and a half millions worth as well.
THE point your missing is that karanka wanted so many out the door without giving a chance to most.
He got a superb performance out of the players he inherited against wolves so wholesale changes in the worst transfee window was not the answer, lolley being the only exception even with all his new additions he set a record that I doubt will be beaten for not scoring, his legacy is I'm afraid going to cost us,we can't be far off ffp now.

6.) 05 Feb 2019 21:40:44
Some of the duff signings were an act of sheer petulance after the Preston game which then became a grudge in the Summer. I still think the club signed the players but karanka probably insisted he wanted new players to replace all of those he bore a grudge against. Reality is most of them are worse than what we had before . Lord , what a mess again.

7.) 05 Feb 2019 21:50:33
2 star you've just landed on my planet.welcome ๐Ÿ‘

8.) 05 Feb 2019 23:01:16
After he spent 13.5 mill on carvalho everyone doubled there asking price when we showed interest, that deal should if been kept quiter, we were offered Marriott at 7 mill derby paid 3 mill plus add one same with bamford I'm sure I remember 14 mill being the price we were asked for yet he went to Leeds for 7 mill paying way over the odds for carvalho for everyone to see made your transfer business nearly impossible

9.) 06 Feb 2019 09:38:44
And where pray are these "culled" players plying their trade now?๐Ÿค”
Just think where we would be with them now?๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฃ

10.) 06 Feb 2019 10:34:07
Same place as we are now๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

11.) 06 Feb 2019 10:48:17
It is interesting to watch people who were so utterly convinced we were moving forwards with AK now deciding the club is in a mess and making a lot of poor signings.

If we were making such great progress how come suddenly the same squad with players added (apart from Fox) is a bunch of "duds"?

12.) 06 Feb 2019 11:48:38
I was thinking the rc

13.) 07 Feb 2019 13:47:48
Ain't it all down to the players not performing last time I looked they are the ones on the pitch problem is the players they know their safe and its the manager who'll get the sack fare enough manager sets them up and provides the tactics but they have to show so character and some passion.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis is set to complete a permanent transfer to Lecce. So we are told: if so 1 down and about 15 or 16 to go!

1.) 14 May 2019 18:33:20
Is that dulce de lecce, if so their in a sticky situation. ๐Ÿ˜

2.) 14 May 2019 18:54:19
For about 6 million would be nice.

3.) 14 May 2019 21:48:46
Gud to see a few players moved on hopefully the rest follow suit as quickly.

13 May 2019 15:08:15
These are the players on the Retained List:
Karim Ansarifard, Arvin Appiah, Gboly Ariyibi, Yohan Benalouane, Liam Bridcutt, Joao Carvalho, Matty Cash, Zach Clough, Jason Cummings, Tendayi Darikwa, Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo, Lewis Grabban, Jorge Grant, Adlene Guedioura, Michael Hefele, Joe Lolley, Alex Milosevic, Daryl Murphy, Ben Osborn, Costel Pantilimon, Jack Robinson, Jordan Smith, Hillal Soudani, Luke Steele, Panagiotis Tachtsidis, Apostolos Vellios, Tyler Walker, Ben Watson, Joe Worrall, Claudio Yacob, Ryan Yates.

So who will be sold, loaned or contract bought out?

bsered

1.) 13 May 2019 16:26:20
If only it was easy to get rid of some of this lot!!

I reckon at least 12 surplus to requirements. All purchased by the previous two regimes and most have had zero impact on our squad or performance levels.

In respect of Dawson Murphy and Watson. Past their best, settle the remaining contracts.

Then try and sell loan or terminate:

Ariyibi,Bridcutt,Clough,Cummings,Grant,Hefele,Soudani,Tachtsidis,Vellios.

I reckon this is a generous assessment and shows the massive task MON has to contend with in order to trim back before he can add some quality.

2.) 13 May 2019 21:12:40
Very big ask think the majority should have their contracts paid up seems to be the only way to get rid
. By keeping them and sending them on loan only keeps a lot of deadwood at the club which feels like a constant drain. It would be nice to feel the squad has been trimmed and everything can feel fresh again, for too many years we have had the added weight of overpaid either journey men or just no good players and it seems to drag us down.

3.) 13 May 2019 23:38:01
Squads the size of ours with journeymen and poor quality are a symptom of constantly changing managers I am afraid!!!

4.) 13 May 2019 23:49:05
Sell or terminate contract:

Steele, Dawson, Hefele, Watson, Bridcutt, Tachtidis, Clough, Murphy, Cummings, Vellios

Bring in:

GK, RB, CB, DM, W (x2), ST

05 May 2019 17:05:04
On a statistical note we got 13 more points than we did last season. There is no guarantee of course but if we get 13 more than this year next year we would be on 79 points and that might just see us into the top six. However we are going to be competing with several more clubs who will get Parachute Money - Huddersfield, Cardiff and Fulham as well as three of those in the top six this year, so it's going to be a very hard task!

bsered

1.) 06 May 2019 10:40:38
Only 8 points off a play off place which just goes to show that there was not that much wrong with the plan for this season taking into account the defender injury crisis and some ridiculous refereeing decisions that cost us points?

We need to trim the squad but MON has a good core to work with some key additions to balance the quality of the squad depth.

05 May 2019 14:24:27
Top Ten finish is ok for me, but lots of sorting out over the summer if we are going to finish in the top six next year, and more fresh faces and impetus required. Personally I'd like to see MON/RK given another 18 months, I can't see it happening in 12!

bsered

1.) 05 May 2019 15:16:30
Totally agree besred. Sensible post

2.) 05 May 2019 18:19:19
This sounds a little daft but all I want to see us do is play decent football and able to compete

3.) 05 May 2019 19:11:36
Bsered, Should Martin and Roy get the team playing reasonably well, and the results are good enough they will get as much time as they want.

4.) 06 May 2019 07:29:15
I can only see us getting the points if we get Colback, a left back and a striker. Iโ€™ve said it a few times but Bidwell would be my choice. Striker-wise is go with Austin but thatโ€™s probably a tad unrealistic. Wednesday have a myriad of strikers, Iโ€™d imagine they will be clearing out a few.

5.) 06 May 2019 18:43:08
Martin has said he wants Forest to play with flair next season, which players that you want will be the providing the flair Floresta.

29 Apr 2019 09:55:33
BC always said that a really good team ought to beat a poor team with no mercy and a big scoreline. We should therefore wallop Bolton in the final match of the season - but I'm wondering, if it is not in any way a vital match whether MON/RK will try more experimenting? Maybe Appiah will get a full game, Figuerido get a run out, Murphy play again? What do people think?

bsered

1.) 29 Apr 2019 11:06:04
I think put the strongest team out and try to wallop them.try and finish the season on a high

2.) 29 Apr 2019 21:02:30
Personally not interested and not going, never like to miss games, but this one isn't worth playing and I can think of better things to do on a bank holiday Sunday with a stupid kick off time and nothing to play for and the opposition not turning up.
The only decent thing to do is play the under 23 team against them and even it up,anyway enjoy guys but this games not for me.

3.) 29 Apr 2019 22:57:30
I have to say ff that I make take a bit of moving out of the pub. ๐Ÿป

This is now the worst time of the year as far as any info on players is concerned, most of it being silly Journo speculation and gossip. I try and avoid it all and wait for the retained list.

To be fair MON has only ever said that Carvalho was a talented player. He does not seem to want to get rid of him since this week he said he felt it appropriate that JC has seen what a struggle 9 months of solid football is like. What I've noticed time and again is that when he plays alongside both Osborn and Lolley, their inter-passing seems to be spot on, so these two players tend to help get the best out of him. If Grabban was a little less selfish on the ball he might prosper more alongside JC too.

Be realistic Fff79. Lam is gone and a lot of those are U23 team members who will come back to the same side. We need Yacob, and Soudani and Ansarifard will be given more time. Osborn is our best utility player so will be kept.
