Apparently the social media rumour is Vellios is going to Olympiacos in Jan. He is not being played by Forest because they don't want him injured. Surely he's just as likely to be injured in U23's games? Plus strikers need games and goals for confidence? The whole situation makes no sense.

Scouseduckred

1.) 19 Nov 2017 19:29:40
Then it is probably not true! Maybe Warburton should play him and see whether his bakery catches fire?

Vellios still has the best strike rate of any of our strikers since he has been here so the judgement of the manager has to be called into question?

2.) 19 Nov 2017 19:56:41
It makes no sense to ostracise velios. Warbuton is flawed but it is his decicions that will deterimne the immeduate future so we are helpless

3.) 19 Nov 2017 22:44:08
What do you mean by flawed?
No one is perfect otherwise we'd be robots and nothing would go wrong, except someone would have to win .
He's made a decision about vellios, rightly or wrongly, but he sees him train and he is the manager and like it or not he can't please everyone,Rooney can't get in Everton side two managers agree on that one early in the season, you have to accept that sometimes more is going off behind the scenes than we know.
And no manager would or should have to explain why a player is not being played by fans?
They'd have no time for the main event, trying to win matches and move the club forward.
We are supposed to support the club not tell the manager what team to pick and he's useless,so let's sack him along comes another useless one,but then you never know if we're lucky we might just get one good enough, great strategy from the ones that are still on fawaz merry go round, didn't work then keep sacking managers not going to work now either.
Just get behind the team and the manager and accept he can't please us all.

4.) 20 Nov 2017 13:20:41
if the 'social media' rumour is true then the situation makes complete sense and is reasonable business for all parties involved . As fans we don't know half of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes (good job really!!) and if that deal is in place-good luck to Velios and let's move on.

5.) 20 Nov 2017 17:55:30
Ff79 frankly i am sick of the name velios. But one thing is for certain he has not been given a chance. Just think we may have been better with velios in this team. But warbuton has been negligent in this situation. spending strong money on murphy who is nearly 35. And on a 3 year contract. Brerton has brought little to the team this year but velios has proven at this level he is quality. A good manager manages characters simples. Look warburton nearly dismissed eric for god sake, in favour of darikwa. 5 goals from the bench pre season and not even included in the matchday squad once????? At least warburton could explain that their are issues. No he is flawed but have never mentioned sacking him. Just don't agree with a lot of his decisions.!

6.) 22 Nov 2017 00:28:16
That nearly 35 year old ran the line tonight perfectly and got his reward with a well taken goal from a great cross.
Good signing

7.) 22 Nov 2017 07:23:06
Will you please get over velios he can't score in the under 23s lol

8.) 22 Nov 2017 07:25:18
Warburton is flawed he was a city trader. his tactical knowledge is limited, plays his FAVOURITE players..leaves proven players out, need i go on?
The fans are frustrated with him as were the rangers fans etc. his stubbornness and excuses after losses when forest play badly are wearing thin, same old scripted tosh!

9.) 22 Nov 2017 07:27:30
What your saying here FF79 is quite true, but from a fans perspective, the whole Velios situation is just odd, and it's gone on for so long now, I think the club do need to say something. On the face of it we have a player that has scored consistently for that last two pre seasons, and then is dropped for no apparent reason. Personally, I also think MW failed to get the right replacements when Britt left. Murphy is too old, can't play every game, and realistically we ain't going to get much out of him over a 3 year contract.

Cummings was always going to be unproven at this level, as are BB and Walker, and it's not right they should carry the burden of scoring all the goals. We then come back to Vellios, a man who can seemingly do a job for us, but has been frozen out, for whatever reason. Once again the big issue for us is goal scoring, so I'm not surprised many fans want to know what Vellios has done wrong.

10.) 22 Nov 2017 14:20:00
Problem is he's not got a good goalscoring record,I personally would like to see him on the bench, but warbo sees him train everyday and I don't.
Things always go on behind the scenes at clubs and it's best kept in house in my opinion.

11.) 22 Nov 2017 18:15:48
And yet we are currently JUST outside the play off places!!!!
Look, we will play well and lose some games
We will play poorly and win some games
We will be sublime and indifferent, and everything in between.
But this is Year 1 post the barren Fawaz years. 5 years of getting worse, year on year, in virtually every way.
Me? I’ll be more than happy with a couple of years of steady re-building. Putting a squad together who know one another and who get the ethos.
Let’s try to give a bloody manager a couple of seasons to see a plan through before throwing dummies out of the oram again and demanding sackings.
That merry go round has been worn out, and it didn’t exactly work out well

12.) 22 Nov 2017 20:40:37
We are 7th. We would all have taken that at the start of the season and we have the finances to add in January. Flawed. .improving us might be more accurate.

I'm not sure how Velios is proven in some meaningless friendlies and we don't see his attitude in training.

Some bad performances but great league position from last season

Bird site rumours, today is the day, our great club will start it's rise again. No more false dawns, fingers crossed. FTID.

1.) 02 Jun 2016 15:06:46
Villa, Blackburn and Leeds all appoint new managers, where the hell is ours! πŸ˜’.

2.) 02 Jun 2016 15:53:37
Could be that MON doesn't want it announced until after the Euros.

3.) 02 Jun 2016 16:04:09
The Villa take over took weeks to complete, as do they all .
Until the take over has been confirmed and completed the announcement of a new manager will have to wait.

I bet we don't see anything regarding a new manager for another couple of weeks yet.

4.) 02 Jun 2016 16:26:32
Mon wouldn't even discuss the matter until after the euros.

5.) 02 Jun 2016 16:27:54
Is giggsy on his way?

6.) 02 Jun 2016 16:31:23
I don't think any managerial announcement will be made until takeover has been agreed. By sounds of it, it could be the difference between the manager having a fair amount of money or very little - if the latter could be a deal breaker if takeover isn't approved.

7.) 02 Jun 2016 17:04:18
What part of the Bird site states today's the day? Anyone else see this or is it just another pointless pose?

8.) 02 Jun 2016 17:38:15
Villa's take takeover was well documented in the press even the buyer was named so why is our investment / takeover so secret? something fishy going on🐟.

9.) 02 Jun 2016 21:17:47
2 hours 40 mins left.

10.) 03 Jun 2016 10:25:14
No22

Did your time mess up?

11.) 03 Jun 2016 11:21:58
What does the bird site say about today?

Just think of the wages were saving by only employing one manger for 9 months a year instead of paying several contracts from already sacked managers.

Brilliant plan.

12.) 03 Jun 2016 13:28:46
No, time can't mess up.

13.) 03 Jun 2016 16:51:59
That was meant to be :

Did your timer mess up.

At the end of the day we are just guessing.

Anyone near the ground? Can you make up/ confirm any rumours about greater activity than normal? Possible announcement due? Good news please but Friday funnies gladly received. 😊.

Scouseduckred

1.) 29 Apr 2016 13:47:05
There are only 2 days left of early bird discount. Perhaps your seeing the queue of renewals. Don't get in the way you might get caught in the stampede.

2.) 29 Apr 2016 14:06:34
I've just watched Fawaz getting off a tired looking Skills bus! knotted hanky on top of his head, with another man in tow. Greek looking, tubby build. Apparently they're setting up a slide show, of holiday snaps. Season ticket holders get in free, Β£2 general admission, Β£1 consessions.

3.) 29 Apr 2016 14:17:11
Last home game selling out quick, apparently. Must be speculation of investment/ manager, certainly not weather report. Coyr.

4.) 29 Apr 2016 16:33:05
Fawaz said he would make an announcement hopefully before the end of the month about a manager, so it could be the new ovens going in for Evans piesπŸ”.

5.) 29 Apr 2016 19:23:38
The good news is their is no news as appointing the right manager at this time is not an option!

6.) 30 Apr 2016 06:08:30
I wonder if the Greek guy will invest enough so fawaz can take back seat.

7.) 30 Apr 2016 06:41:20
So this is the man you want to make fawaz take a back seat is it?
The Olympiakos president is accused of being involved in and directing a criminal organisation, aiding and abetting blackmailing, aiding and abetting extortion, and aiding and abetting bribery and fraud.
Can't wait.
Be careful what you wish for.

8.) 30 Apr 2016 07:02:31
That's nothing! You wait and see what he gets accused of on here if he gets involved with us! 😊.

9.) 30 Apr 2016 07:06:54
He sounds more like an agent than an owner?

10.) 30 Apr 2016 07:26:44
By what iv read as well he isn't allowed out the country as he is on bail and has to report to the police every few days. so this is why fawaz was in Greece, because the new bloke can't leave his country.
Is this why it's being classed as investment and not new ownership as he wouldn't pass any fit and proper person tests, which fawaz passed.

11.) 30 Apr 2016 07:32:13
But if that's what the fans want that's what the fans shall have. if it does go through fawaz will probably get more stick for it but the fans should realise that it's THEM that are forcing fawaz to do this and not himself.

12.) 30 Apr 2016 08:49:42
This Greek visit is all a smokescreen Fawaz cannot buy a decent kebab in Nottingham!

13.) 30 Apr 2016 09:47:37
If the Greek guy can, t get to Nottm . he could get Bily, s cousin Jim to run the club for him!
CARLO.

14.) 30 Apr 2016 12:54:56
I would let Jim or billy run around the block let alone run another football club.

15.) 30 Apr 2016 14:17:57
Wouldn't ##.

16.) 30 Apr 2016 16:17:19
uptheforest

You forgot about the persistent match fixing allegations?

Be great if we could buy the odd win. :)

17.) 30 Apr 2016 18:53:24
No I didn't that was all relating to the charge of match fixing.

18.) 30 Apr 2016 21:40:14
Always wondered why Billy No Mates stats were so high? You can set your clock by him and read him like a children's book!
Foul play?

Bird site twittering about imminent announcement, MON for manager, don't shoot the messenger!

Scouseduckred

1.) 15 Apr 2016 20:10:58
Be cool even if not mon then still should tell who next manager will be even if they can't start till July.

2.) 15 Apr 2016 20:32:51
Probably just season ticket propaganda. I would prefer pearson personally.

3.) 15 Apr 2016 20:36:01
Pretty sure Pearson is going to Villa. Twitter is a wash with Matin Oneil manager stories, just can't see it myself.

4.) 15 Apr 2016 20:42:37
Never forget watching an interview with O'Neil several years ago when he stated he would manage Forest one day.
We can only dream.

5.) 15 Apr 2016 20:54:44
There's going to be some fans eating humble pie if we get him 😊 come on ya reds.

6.) 15 Apr 2016 21:00:02
I think we will either end up with a manager we don't want or fawaz will sell up.

7.) 15 Apr 2016 21:05:06
1973 get ready to eat the pie.

8.) 15 Apr 2016 21:30:08
It's teddy sheringham.

9.) 15 Apr 2016 21:40:10
Skegs hope i am eating pie but it won't happen
Oneill likes money to spend he won't get that here for one thing
Its yet more fawaz bs.

10.) 16 Apr 2016 09:35:04
Skeg, I'll happily drive over to your coastal paradise, you can serve me the slice and watch me eat every crumb of it.

I'd be happy to do it. I just think we are too much of shambles to land a decent name.

11.) 16 Apr 2016 10:10:40
he might be a decent name but most of the people on this site will be calling for his head if we have a bad start to next season lol.

12.) 16 Apr 2016 10:43:41
If MON does come I hope he buy's better players than some of the garbage he bought at Villa.

Just saying like,

13.) 16 Apr 2016 11:12:17
It's going to be Paul Hart his contracts up in summer makes sense.

1.) 14 Dec 2015 16:16:02
Never been more uninspired by a footballer personally. don't see how he fits into our style of play, backed up by the fact we have resorted to using him as a hold up player to see a game out in the last 10 mins.

Surely we have an existing player to perform this role or has the frugal brief gone out the window.

2.) 14 Dec 2015 18:05:05
If he comes on tonight and nicks the winner. who cares mate! COYR!

Note to MW, if Bolton had more shots, controlled the game and made us 'play at their level', we don't care, we won. We don't want to see it every week but if needed. dig deep and grind out that result. πŸ‘.

Paterson playing and scoring for Bristol City, Lee Johnson has his team sitting pretty in 3rd. Not so long ago Forest deemed JP surplus to requirements and LJ's position was under threat. How quickly things change in football.

1.) 09 Dec 2017 11:26:39
Always liked Pato. Great feet and an eye for goal.

2.) 09 Dec 2017 12:18:53
Me too Redfin. My point is we are looking to move players on in Jan. I hope we don't regret any of them leaving. MW's position has been questioned by a few, just like LJ's. Let's pray he keeps his job until the end of the season. Not because I'm a massive fan but because we would have won more than we'd lost. After all of the good work done by our new owners, a bit of stability for our club, will be a god send. FTID, 3 points and a performance please lads.πŸ‘

3.) 09 Dec 2017 13:39:28
Pato another good player buried in the Forest striker graveyard!

05 Dec 2017 12:09:44
After a period of reflection, I would like to make the following comments.
1. Warburton has done enough to finish this season, as Forest manager.
2. I feel the majority of us want our players to play 'good football'
3. Our Academy is a credit to the club and we want to see those players in the first team.
4. Over playing of the ball, in the wrong part of the pitch, has lead to costly errors and individual mistakes.
5. If MW could just get that balance right, of playing football when you can but putting the ball into row z when you can't, a lot of the fan's frustrations would temper.
6. Football is about percentages, if Mancienne had cleared the ball for a throw in, we may have gained a point at Ipswich. But that doesn't make him a bad footballer, just a player making a bad decision.
7. Until our defence or their replacements are comfortable playing it out from the back, we need to mix up our play more.
8. Conceding early goals is putting extra pressure on our players, strikers are snatching at shots and defenders are playing like rabbits in the headlights. Tight for 10 mins, win your battles and gradually impose how you want to play on a game.
9. We can win ugly/ lucky. Millwall and Hull spring to mind. As fans we appreciate a battling performance or MW a hard fought draw.
10. I believe the majority of our fan's frustrations are due to knowing how good we can be and not accepting performances that are woeful. Where is the middle ground?
As always FTID.

Good analysis buddy

2.) 05 Dec 2017 13:48:03
Great post mate!!

3.) 05 Dec 2017 14:07:42
You have raised 10 good points which I think most fans would absolutely agree with you. However, the question mark is MW capable of delivering? I'm now of the opinion that MW only has one game plan, which if the possession / dominance turned into goals, we would be winning more than losing. It's also very clear that we don't have the right players or players that are good enough to deliver the brand of football he desires. Where Warbo is failing is right now, is this instance on playing plan A at all costs. Even when things go wrong, he doesn't seem to have an alternative plan. Even the subs are like for like, and play in the same way. I'm not calling for MW to be sacked, if he delivers a mid table finish, that is progress on last year. For me, there is a expectancy now to deliver in the next transfer window. He simply has to address the defense issues this time, and that is to find the right players to play his system. With all that said, I do also believe there are a lot if question marks over MW's ability as a manager. But, I can also see if he gets the right squad that can play this way, I do think plan A will see us win more than we lose!

4.) 05 Dec 2017 18:32:41
10 reasonable points but warbs has done enough to keep his job till the end of the season? Not if he loses another 20 matches he won't

02 Dec 2017 18:59:36
Arsenal v Man U, a perfect example of many of our points. Arsenal all the possession, more chances blah blah. Utd go home with 3 points. Wake up Warburton you charlatan, you're starting to look like the imposter I think you are. FTID.

2.) 02 Dec 2017 19:19:07
Agreed Scouseduckred, not saying he should be got rid of yet but if he doesn't turn it round then i think Marikanis will pull the trigger, we have the players who can do this but not the way he sets it up, never thought i would say it but bring back Mills, i thought this season was all about being mid table not trying to play Barcelona, Arsenal type football that comes later with a consolidated presence in the Championship. Bring the youngsters on by all means but in stages in January get some roughie toughie players in who can control the midfield and not afraid to have a go this is the Championship not Serie A😠

3.) 02 Dec 2017 19:25:04

We have to be able to mix the way we play, yes playing from the back and possession football is easy on the eye but not if we lose the ball and concede goals. As a defender, if in doubt get it out, better decision making against Leeds and S.Weds may have yielded an extra point or two. I agree about moving the ball quicker too, the longer we take the more time the opposition has to arrange their defence. Problem for Smith is this exposes his poor distribution, time to take him out of the firing line and give us the option of breaking quickly. This style would suit away games and against the better sides at home, just a realistic opinion based on our mid table expectations? FTID

Stokey, it's discrimination then not racism. My point exactly, if you throw the race card about Willy Billy, it loses it's impact. Regarding the police job, the black and Asian candidate would have grounds but the Jewish one only discrimination on the grounds of religious belief. It's a minefield, if he'd said best person for the job, he wouldn't have discounted women either! On no Ed, what have we done? I need a pint.
