Ben watson expected to sign after the Fulhsm gsme. Positve talks held at the academy. Will be great for us.

rutland red1

1.) 02 Feb 2018 16:53:30
Him and Coleback would be a couple of firebrands in midfield, along with Bridcutt I can see our work-rate going up.I don't know how Bouchalakis is going to fit in. There will be a lot of question-marks over our present players by the summer.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 17:34:50
I can't see where osborn and dowell are going to fit in

3.) 02 Feb 2018 18:30:22
Really Dowell is one of the best players we have

4.) 02 Feb 2018 21:03:36
Dowell is a luxury, which is fine when your playing well and winning.
His problem is he goes missing in games, sometimes for 70 mins then might pull a thunderbolt out of the blue.
Other than a big deflected goal against wolves,he has not played well for a while.
Needs to put a full shift in,but then you have to take into account he's been in a side that has a unbalanced midfield with four being left footed on everymatchday.
Should be more balanced now,but i'd leave him out tomorrow in favour of ged colback osborn cash and tomlin.
Stronger players against a very good side in great form.

5.) 02 Feb 2018 21:07:06
He is very talented i will give him that. he's a luxury player if the teams playing well he does well other than that he's very lazy

6.) 03 Feb 2018 08:12:45
Your right ff. we now have pit ponies as well as show ponies.

7.) 03 Feb 2018 11:42:41
New guys aside as I don't know about them, Dowell is the only one who can hit a decent free kick.

8.) 03 Feb 2018 13:24:04
As well as a dodgy corner 🙄

9.) 03 Feb 2018 21:22:20
Like i said should have left Dowell out, snowboater who plays for himself, not the team.

10.) 04 Feb 2018 11:58:13
Dowell needs to be dropped for a few games.

11.) 04 Feb 2018 14:57:29
Lol what's a snowboater it sounds good craic 😂

27 Jan 2018 22:31:22
At least now their can be no argument. Karanka has given him a chsnce and he has taken it. I told you all Velios is not crap well done karanka.

rutland red1

1.) 28 Jan 2018 06:39:53
Just seen the goal, great finish. Playing brereton ahead of velios has cost us .

2.) 28 Jan 2018 09:48:49
Two bad defensive errors cost us.
I said it was game over at half time.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 14:28:21
Ff79 you seemed happy with the line up yesterday. You then thriugh what you saw changed your tone. Was it really that bad???

4.) 28 Jan 2018 16:16:41
Rutland. Nearly everyone thought it was a positive line up. We even convinced ourselves that Carayol might be part of a master plan. We sat or stood mainly and watched absolute garbage.

5.) 28 Jan 2018 16:51:12
Ff79 i do not get csryol. He always looks liks he is limping either thst or he has one leg shorter than the other. For sure Karanka will have his eyes open now. Its so disrespectful to 4000 travelling fans for that to ever happen again.

6.) 28 Jan 2018 21:03:34

Karanka will have Carayol out the door as he had his eyes opened at Boro with him. He has no work ethic or courage and is good for about 20 mins a game on a good day!

He'd be better off in the French league where he will get more space.

7.) 28 Jan 2018 22:22:19
Rutland I was happy with the line up,the problem is they didn't turn up yet again.
They win a game against the top side in the league and follow it up with a shocker, been doing it for too long now,It's inexcusable big clearout required as they don't have the mental strength to succed

8.) 29 Jan 2018 05:15:31
Mental strength that's a good point. These next 4 days are going to be interesting. What does karanka do??? Stick or twist????

9.) 29 Jan 2018 08:36:31
On that performance twist.
Boukalkis fox Carayol definite non starters for me and and Dowell and Brereton dropping to the bench.

21 Jan 2018 13:46:46
Karanka has said we will finish the window with a stronger squad than we have now. That was after the game yesterday so he must have soms agreements in place!

rutland red1

1.) 21 Jan 2018 14:17:07
Great News, and in the Red door walks.?

2.) 21 Jan 2018 14:21:41
Could also mean Worrall and Brereton are going nowhere as well as

3.) 21 Jan 2018 14:58:20
All we need to do to have a stronger squad at the end of the window is sell Mills?

4.) 21 Jan 2018 15:21:06
Ha ha good one

5.) 21 Jan 2018 16:23:43
Finishing the window stronger could just mean the players he has will improve in their right positions, not necessarily any more additions to the squad. Unless of course McKay or someone else leaves. Personally I think we have a good talented squad who can keep us up, even though there still will be ups and downs in terms of results. Let's work with what we've got and not expect some sort of single saviour to come in and put everything right all of a sudden.

6.) 21 Jan 2018 16:33:52
He may also mean that they will be mentally stronger following this and the Arsenal results and their new found team ethic.
That or we have some decent players coming in. maybe he is close to someone arriving.
Clayton please!!

7.) 21 Jan 2018 16:43:43
I think he will add two this window. One central defender and one strong chsracter in midfield. We have no cover for worral or bridcutt. Personally manciennd is no captain as he never ever speaks on the pitch so maybe expect a vociferous addition.

8.) 21 Jan 2018 18:02:07
Bsred, I think Karanka would like a general on the pitch. A strong character to lift the players if we are flagging, to enforce AK's directions. Clough had McGovern, AK trusts a player at Boro, I hope he gets his man.

9.) 21 Jan 2018 18:35:03
Billy (like him or hate him) sought out & got McKenna. We've had no-one since other than CC but always injured.

10.) 21 Jan 2018 19:02:09
Mancienne might not be a captain but we are a much better team when he’s in the back 4.

11.) 21 Jan 2018 19:32:59
Never saw McGovern give the team a lift ,like Mance just got on with his job and led by example.
Others in a that side were much much more vocal than McGovern ,you don,t have to bawl and shout to be skipper you need the others respect.

12.) 21 Jan 2018 20:14:55
Captains work in different ways, a crunching tackle to set the tone of a game, encouraging defensive shape, scoring a whopper. You could be the best player but a rubbish captain, I like a talker who praises, chastises, rollocks and encourages, a conductor on the pitch. We don't have that but I believe we would be that stronger side, if we could sign such a player.

13.) 21 Jan 2018 21:17:23
Carlo mancienne struggles with concentration. His communication with colleagues is ziltch. He is not a bad player but then he is not a great player. Captain material nope.

14.) 21 Jan 2018 22:32:33
Not a massive Fox fan but he was talking up the youngsters all game yesterday, good stuff from him.

15.) 21 Jan 2018 22:46:55
There's no great players at mid table championship clubs.

16.) 22 Jan 2018 00:05:58
You can have great players in any league and at any standard, the problem is keeping hold of them and trying to make sure the clubs get something out of them ie . Promotion or cash in the bank.

17.) 22 Jan 2018 00:58:28
Have said for a while that it is ridiculous that the only player I see every game shouting and talking to everyone all the time is young Joe Worrall!
None of our players who have worn the armband lately are overly vocal, Manchienne, Lichij or Mills. No matter what position a leader is something we need.

18.) 22 Jan 2018 13:09:17
All that means is mills will be sold 👍

19.) 22 Jan 2018 14:13:07
Who is going to buy Mills and pay 10 g a week ,perhaps Dougiie will take him to CP ?

19 Jan 2018 07:02:24
Karanka has denied bidding for clayton saying he is concentrating on " my own players "
That would indicate no signings this window. Brave man?

rutland red1

1.) 19 Jan 2018 08:51:57
lets wait and see shall we.

2.) 19 Jan 2018 10:26:43
Suttonpete: the worst thing would be to panic buy players who are cheap but are journeymen with no real talent as we have done in the past. Maybe we should just stick with our own lads, and bring a few more youngsters into the side.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 11:11:08
Wasn’t wanting more youngsters in one of the reasons MW and co got the sack? We need experienced Championship players but I don’t hold out much hope of getting the Boro lads, they are the type of players we need. Not much time left to get deals done.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 11:23:33
I think Karanka mentioned we had a very young side and suggested that going forwards he would address this so we are more balanced with experience as well.

I'd be surprised if we don't see 1 or 2 in during this window, there is probably more going on behind the scenes than we know, duck swimming analogy and all that.

12 days is loads of time:)

5.) 19 Jan 2018 11:58:05
I have not assumed anything or stated he should or should not. I have never panicked being a forest fan, my glass is always half full and try and remain optimistic. I am certainly not one of these calling for a managers head every time we are on a losing run. We obviously need some improvement, but that comes over time. let's not forget were we were last season!!

6.) 19 Jan 2018 13:00:43
got to agree Gingerkid
We should be pleased that we are being more professional as a club not like the Fawaz days.
There is plenty of time to bring in the right players to improve the team

7.) 19 Jan 2018 13:01:22
Let's not forget there is more than one team we can buy players from 😂

8.) 19 Jan 2018 13:23:33
From what I have read, we have shown interest in the Boro players, but can't match or compete with the wages. If we get some players out first, it then frees up some money for wages.

9.) 19 Jan 2018 13:29:36
Daz - I don't think one of the reasons MW got sacked was for bringing youngsters in??? he got some youngsters in and then tried to get them to play out of position or in a different way. Bit like a site manager getting sparkies to do the plumbing :)

10.) 19 Jan 2018 13:58:19
2Tone I was trying to highlight the fact that MW wanted to bring in “more” young players to go with what we already have and the powers that be didn’t agree with that.So it was not “the” reason but apparently it was one of them.

Was not at the game but followed it on bbc live txt. Same old story, team set up to hold not attack. Getting sick of karanka to be honest. Every time we get a big gate and seem on a roll he does the same old. He had a dig at the crowd, shame on you Karanka as these fans have been very vociferous in support of the team and you. Team selection still baffles and Pantimilon in particular. He cannit spot danger, is simply awful on crosses, cannot command his box and is as fragile as a box of eggs. Simply put a disaster.
I have read some of the stories around his management at Boro and it makes familiar reading. Arrogant and intollerant with players and systems. Taking off Lolley yesterday was a prediction i made to my wife and yes it happened. AK says he was tired yet Lolley was seething.
3 amigos again same old powder puff directionless rhetoric. No muscle and going sideways. Karvalho has something but is it enough to justify selection?

rutland red1

1.) 21 Oct 2018 10:18:00
Only one person to blame for yesterday's awful performance and that is Karanka full stop . Just the same as last week's great result at Boro ,listening to his radio Nottingham interview on our way back from the match was unbelievable , I don't think he had watched the same game as us , but his attitude and arrogance towards the Forest fan's blaming them for that performance yesterday was unforgivable , I have never heard such utter contempt from a Forest manager in all my life , He was to blame for poor team selection its not the players fault ( Pants , Watson , Dias , ) in particular , also poor substitutions , then to also say that Joe Lolly was poor was beyond me , I wouldn't blame Lolly if he put in a transfer request , I don't like the man he doesn't deserve to be manager of our great club .

2.) 21 Oct 2018 12:38:31
Yesterday was just another dour performance from a dour manager. The fans need a bit more from the players to keep singing. He is so bang out of order with his comments. I still do not think he is the right fit for forest. We still get out run out muscled at home. Men against boys. Defence relying on luck these days and its running out.

20 Oct 2018 17:04:37
Saw the line up and was gutted. Sell out home crowd and the 2 defensive midfielders we feared he would pick together. No cash, osborn at left back. I knew he would take off lolley as he was the only one shooting by the sounds of it. AK confuses out of me.

rutland red1

03 Oct 2018 22:26:25
That was one shocking display. Been saying it all season pantimilon is a flat footed clown. His distribution has been awful all season but tonight took it to an all time low. And flatfooted to crosses and danger. Get rid, watford did.
Grabban has no presence no urgency or guts. When we lost lolley we had nothing goibg forward. Dias for benny a disgrace and don't get me going on Carvalaho. Dreadful in posession and again so easily brushed aside. Yup he scored but that's papering over the cracks. He shows nothing that convinces me that he is anything other than a medicocre footballer. How many chances did we carve out? The first half was one against 14 to millwall. I was boyuant yesterday but fed up tonight as its just the same old. Even the goal millwall had disallowed should have stood. It was a goal that the kind we will never score. This game cried out for Murphy up top and a better no 10 than carvalaho supporting. Gutted.

01 Oct 2018 22:02:18
To put a lid on this debate about Carvalho and anyone doubting his ability and value. Ppl on here are not saying that he has no ability we have general opinion that for what the outlay was it was not for a development player. The lad has potential no doubts as has Dias. But one thing that stood out on saturday was the physicality on the pitch. Their were some cracking thunderous tackles and very clever shielding of the ball and direct movement and guile. Cash, young lad, relished it. He is getting experience and gets up and down. Carvalho just cannit impose himself. If its down to the rest not being on his wavelength then that is worse as it is he that should adapt. Like a manager or player and they represent the club then we support them. Afterall carvalho did pop the ball on a plate for Grabban though the defence did go missing. I desperately want him to do well but at the moment he is not doing enough to warrant selection. And I do feel for the lad. That price tag over his head and moving here must be difficult, very difficult. He needs to watch a few more games and be bled gradually before his confidence gets drained totally.

rutland red1

1.) 02 Oct 2018 06:28:36
You make good points rutland, but I very much doubt that you've managed to put a lid on the debate about Carvalho. The foremoaners simply won't allow that to happen I'm affraid.😞

2.) 02 Oct 2018 08:50:52
He isn't getting the ball quick enough, the only way I see him adapting is to drop deep for it & then he reduces his impact even further.
The base needs to get the ball upfield quicker & the players around him need to make the clever runs, get closer & he'll find them.

Carvalho is a one touch player, the lads around him aint.

Its not really his problem to sort.

3.) 02 Oct 2018 09:48:09
Yes he needs to get physically stronger and I'm sure he's working on it, but you don't want to change the player he is. He adds a different dimension to the team and he's the most likely to play a killer pass, this is something we've all said we've missed for some time. I agree he needs to improve in certain areas and I'm sure he will, but don't underestimate what he does.

4.) 02 Oct 2018 10:17:14
Bang on Gazzared

5.) 02 Oct 2018 10:24:31
There’s no point paying £13m for a player then asking him to change his style, it’s crazy to do such a thing. You pay for the player and his style, and work on ways to integrate his style into your system. You can’t take the rigid approach that your system is the best, i.e. Mourinho, you need to adapt it for the better. Carvalho gives us space and clever runs, if he keeps doing this then it’s up to our other players to use these for the teams gain. i'd love to see Goncalves tomorrow combining with him and Lolley because the movement they’d all have would give the millwall players nightmares.

6.) 02 Oct 2018 11:24:06
Yeah mourinho’s had a disasterous managerial career with his methods!

7.) 02 Oct 2018 12:00:30
Well the debate will rage on but for me Osbourne is a must start along with cash. At the moment they bring to the table what is required at this level right now. Benny is so confident on the ball and knows when to stick and gamble. Dias and Carvalho maybe impact subs for the next few games. All in all though, their iz definate improvement, good understanding and AK is calmly going about his business. I for one doubted him but pleasantly surprised and swallowing humble pie.

8.) 02 Oct 2018 14:35:28
Carvalho and Osborn play very well together, both quick thinking both quick feet and vision. The right hand side does not have the same so far, but if it ever does we might be unstoppable. Dias does not have Carvalho's brain, not does Goncalves though both have pace.

9.) 02 Oct 2018 15:47:01
Soudani looks a good fit on the right for that quick thinking trio behind the striker bsered.

10.) 02 Oct 2018 17:28:07
Yes I’d agree with that Clay, good choice. If those two and Jacks teamed up they would be very good.

11.) 02 Oct 2018 17:37:20
For 13m it's not good enough. Tomlin would have given more goals and assists for a fraction of the money.

12.) 02 Oct 2018 19:38:05
Thats the big mystery to me. Battle hardened, skillful, liked us, would have been a snip compared to carvalaho. I really thoight that AK would bring him back. Better than the 3 amigos and better than soudani. strange strange scenario.

13.) 02 Oct 2018 20:15:06
If calvalho isn't doing business in January I'd bring tomlin back. Not wanted by Cardiff so could buy him for 1m. They will want him off wage bill.

14.) 02 Oct 2018 22:29:17
Rutland karanka didn't sign the Portuguese lads, marinakasis did, karanka got his way with the established signings,
He's a coach and that's modern football.🤔

15.) 03 Oct 2018 03:44:30
Agreed ff79

30 Sep 2018 11:10:53
On a positve note we did try to play expansive football, more so second half. Plenty of movement wide on both flanks. Pants distribution is still awful and we did put too msny passes across our back four putting us in uneccassary danger.
It turned into a battle with robust challenges on both sides. Colback looked the part. Getting the ball and using his strength and poise to move us into the offensive. I know i will get pelters for this but Carvalho needs withdrawing. Bench him or rest him. He was lost in the heat of battle yesterday and was too easily brushed off the ball. As usual when he got in a good position he tried to be clever and tripped over his own feet. He did put the ball back for Grabban from a slick move, so well done there but overall he is not strong enough or wise enough for this level yet. He is 21 not 18. Lolley on the other hand was powerful and a menace constantly. 4,3,2,1 looked more positve yesterday and we really did have a go. reasons to be cheerful.

rutland red1

1.) 30 Sep 2018 13:44:56
Just needed Benny on for carvalho and we’d have been playing our best 11 for an away game at Blackburn. Plenty of games for carvalho to excel in. I still say we shouldn’t have signed players for so much money who are still developing, we’ve got him now though so best to be supportive and hope that AK sees sense and rotates him accordingly. Cash, Osborn and lolley create more than carvalho at the moment because they are either more experienced or a bit tougher. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a new addition in that role in Jan. meanwhile I’d prefer to see yesterday’s team with Osborn in for carvalho and Murphy / Grabban rotated as our recognised first 11 now.

2.) 30 Sep 2018 17:35:59
2 Star we have yet to see Yacob and Hatchididis yet. I think we have enough midfielders.

3.) 30 Sep 2018 18:46:29
Fair point - I keep forgetting about them if I’m honest

4.) 30 Sep 2018 19:35:03
We'd be crackers not to play Yacob!

Ff79 they also had a good goal disallowed. Pants is a liability. Flat footed, never comes for crosses and inspires no confidence in those around him. As for his distribution??? Captain calamity. Simply a baffoon.
This was a game for Murphy with A another playing tight off him. Grabban offers nothing in this one up role. Dias and Carv are like boys playing for their school. Wonder about with no idea how to move to shape things and are woeful in posession. Why the defence was so poor lastnight? Msybe we were too deep and invited pressure from all angles. Every cross they put in equalled panic stations. can't remember their keeper having anything to deal with. AK needs to stop showing blind loyalty to certain players, assess the opposition and adapt. If thst means more physicality than Fox then it needs doing. Geddy is back to his inconsitent best too. Lastnight was such a disappointment. Not the result the manner in which we went about it. Totally outgunnsd by a poor Millwall side. Step up AK

Colback was utter class yesterday RIE. We have a player here no doubts. Remember that header off the line. In real time that was outrageous. Their is great passion through colback hefele and fox. Jack Robinson is very tidy and reliable. About time we had a bespoke leftback.

We are now 3 points off the bottom, i will be surprised if he survives the weekend. He might get the international break but then the owner might use this time to bed in a new manager. Too early i hear you say? But are we moving united in the same direction??? No chance. This squad is confused and directionless. Too many good players replaced with averageness.

Karanka shows blind faith in the 3 amigos and really they are below average at best in this league. Not getting any stronger or better. His tactics are flawed and his rotation confusing. Pkease don't try and defend the indefensable. 30k fans turn up and he cannot even entertain them oncec again. Oh and btw if he rates pantimilon we are doomed.

social media, whuch this site is part of, is just an extension of the pub talk. The conversations on here whether positive or negative are just the same as the convo in the pub before wnd after games. Nothing knew its always been this way and fans will always express their opinion good or bad. So stop berating the moaners they have a point just like the punters on the terrace or boozer. Its just the written word that's different.
