With the large amount of overseas signings and loanees we have made, many of poor quality, the main gainers have been the usual suspects - Agents.
British signings, scouted by our own scouts would surely have been much better value for money and a much better team would have resulted!

1.) 16 Apr 2019 09:50:11
Carlo, That is the trouble with having managers over the years not up to the task, or the clubs bosses either interfering, or not giving managers the time needed. Foreign does not equal rubbish, but just as some English players are rubbish so are some Foreign players.

2.) 19 Apr 2019 19:35:25
Can we kidnap villas coaching staff for o Neil, not sure what kean is doing to be honest I thought with the two of them we might at least see some movement of the ball and better passing if the team we gave ain't up to drop the lot of em play the under 23 rest of season can't really do us any harm

11 Jan 2019 14:32:34
From inside the club the deal is already done ,as been for a while, clue he,s not British.

1.) 11 Jan 2019 14:43:23
Leonardo Jardim

2.) 11 Jan 2019 15:26:34
They should be looking at Martin O'Neil and Roy Keane someone who knows the history and also knows what the fans demand and deserve.

3.) 11 Jan 2019 15:27:08

4.) 11 Jan 2019 15:41:35
Really, so why is it he is not managing against Reading, and indeed why has he not been put in place when he was first signed.?

5.) 11 Jan 2019 15:41:47
His win ratio at Olyimpiacos was 72% and Marinakis sacked him when they were TEN points clear at the top of the league. Hmmmmm!

6.) 11 Jan 2019 15:53:05
Sgetty, Are you having a laugh?

Does that mean he was a trouble maker, with that win ration you would be offering him a longer contract on more money.

7.) 11 Jan 2019 16:02:09
Jardim by the way

8.) 11 Jan 2019 16:14:12
He's been giving a rolling game by game contract, lose one and your out. I find it strange he would work for Maranakis again, unless he likes the pay offs? Underwhelmed, glad to be proved wrong.

9.) 11 Jan 2019 17:15:28
As stated below Jardim for me as he is versatile in his formations.
Martin O'Niell would be great if he parted ways with Roy Keane.
We need motivator not a bully

10.) 11 Jan 2019 17:42:01
Jardim as got no championship experience so not him I hope. Jokanovic is best bet.

11.) 11 Jan 2019 17:58:13
RA, i do not remember the Leeds manager having been at any other Championship Club.

12.) 11 Jan 2019 18:41:00
Dougie for me. If not then Jokanovic will have to do.
Sad day but we don't know the reasons and never will, maybe it suits both sides with a hint that Madrid won't have to pay compo now.
Thankyou AK, we would have been in league one this season without the massive team rebuild 12 months ago and a premier team in a little over 12 months time, Good luck with your next challenge.
Lets see how long it takes for the daggers to come out with whoever the new guy is.

13.) 11 Jan 2019 21:44:03
Klopp and pep had no premier experience either, not too shabby all saidπŸ€”πŸ€”
Just like to see a manager who adds some flair.

14.) 11 Jan 2019 21:29:52
Jardim was touted for Real Madrid / Man United and arsenal

If and it’s a big IF we got him then that would be unbelievable

Top coach in Europe land for sure is LJ

15.) 12 Jan 2019 10:36:56
What is the fascination with ex players? Martin O'Neil? Have you seen his teams of late? Boring yawn-fest of football. I for one love our history but let's move forward not backwards!

28 Dec 2018 19:39:00
The big thing at the CG seems to be the appointment of manager, for 20 years we seem to keep selecting the wrong man and it doesn't take long to realise another mistake been made, it's such a crucial decision but we seem to pluck them from nowhere and all to often a bad fit for Nottingham Forest, beginning to look like it's happened again and that's when we start down that road again, some managers just don't work at clubs with history of a certain brand of football and your choice is so important.

We hear the expression square pegs in round holes about players but this also applies to managers.

1.) 28 Dec 2018 21:09:39
Are you feeling alright Carlo, that is a long post for you.

2.) 28 Dec 2018 22:40:15
You are right carlo. Their is a lot i like about AK. But not the football man on a saturday.

3.) 28 Dec 2018 22:14:13
You cannot select the same team each week playing at the intensity of the Championship. AK can only pick the ones that are fit not suspended or stats that have not dipped?
AK has not completed his squad building based on the players he had to bring in to save us last year and could not get over the line in the summer.
So please take a chill pill!

4.) 28 Dec 2018 23:32:39
You should change your lucky pants to brown, he's only got thirty fit players to pick from?
Whoops he don't like quite a few 🀣🀣🀣

5.) 29 Dec 2018 06:21:44
Red you're correct.
Krankie never plays the same team because he still doesn't know his best 11 after all this time.
You say he hasn't completed his squad. Hmmmm. a big squad choice and you think we require more players? . This is football not American football!
Anyway keep up the great posts as they make great entertainment.
You are the Tommy Cooper of this site. Just like that!

6.) 30 Dec 2018 00:18:20
We are not playing wheelchair football when it comes to availability for selection?

07 Nov 2018 21:18:07
Carvalhio is starting to find his feet a little more and we can all see his talent but he,s now got to learn that in this league midfield players have always got to be at it ,no time for breathers it,s absolutely gruelling!

1.) 08 Nov 2018 07:08:07
He's getting there for sure Carlo. I saw a much more workman like performance from him against Sheff Utd. Give this kid time, he's going to be a massive asset in the future.

2.) 08 Nov 2018 11:13:15
It's a shame that a number of fans seem to have written a youngster off after barely 10 games.

Nice to see something semi-positive about him. He's a talented boy.

3.) 08 Nov 2018 13:07:58
Carvalho is going to be a great player, for us he is progressing well needs to bulk up,he has undoubted talent, few seasons from now when we getting bids of 100+ million for him where will the naysayers be then? Him and grabben getting a understanding going can only be good news for us πŸ‘πŸ‘ ftid

4.) 08 Nov 2018 17:08:12
I've seen you carvalho play in Portugal and to be honest you'll see him and Dias at the best in prem

5.) 09 Nov 2018 11:07:45
Carvalho's stats will be among the best in his position come May. His problem is that everyone is comparing him with Neves!

6.) 09 Nov 2018 12:35:04
Carvalho and lolly have been exciting to watch no doubt, good to see these types of player getting games under AK,I was very dubious about AKs negative tactics but these guys buck that trend

24 Oct 2018 22:15:17
Sensible team selection, commitment, excitement, entertainment, I'm happy.
Looks like the the owners rollicking did the job.

1.) 24 Oct 2018 22:47:28
What rollicking?

2.) 25 Oct 2018 02:26:04
was it only a sensible team selection cus we won? everyone wanted steele in goal and janko at right back and dias not to be playing.

3.) 25 Oct 2018 08:13:28
I would have janko in but steel looks worse than pants

4.) 26 Oct 2018 09:14:40
Janko steel pants , where can I get a pair ? 🀣

5.) 26 Oct 2018 16:55:49
Sounds like a chastity belt.

During our 20 years of exile the two things that have made it last so long are our choice of manager and our failure to find the exclusive consistantly reliable striker ,loads of managers dozens of strikers ,the list of strikers is so long it would take for ever to list but failure after failure although some have gone on to be successful with other clubs ,

1.) 22 May 2019 14:51:12
I think we have a good striker in Grabban. It just depends on other things like getting the ball to him, with that in mind I think we need a right footed left winger. Cash is ok but is he better there or in the midfield. Could young mr Walker take up that role, or Mr Appiah? Both of them are good candidates but I think they’re both more direct than playmaking. Lolley is the gold standard of a modern day Attacking Midfielder (at least in our league) he drives at defenders, which either causes them to back off so he gets space to play the ball into a team mate or can get a shot away, if they don’t back off he usually beats them and then does the same.

2.) 22 May 2019 16:26:16
Grabban is not the answer imo his Achilles injury at his age is not going to last a season of 46 games in the championship.

Shame we missed out on Jack Marriott he looks a handful, we desperately need to bring in a 20 goal man.Tyler Walker might be the answer but i'm not sure.

Soudani,Murphy,Velios and Ansarifard should all go and we should bring in 2 young promising srikers

3.) 23 May 2019 09:31:18
Grabban serves a good purpose IMO, but I would bring in another '20 goal a season' striker. Preferably someone younger and hungrier.

I think Ansarifard and Walker will provide good cover. I'd use Soudani in one of the supporting three roles rather than up front.

Also, offload Vellios, Cummings and Murphy.

16 May 2019 17:18:09
If Derbby do it will they set any PL new records ?

1.) 16 May 2019 17:47:56
If they do it i will be jealous, how they get on should they do it i do not give a stuff,if they are still in the Championship next season i hope we give them a mauling.

2.) 16 May 2019 22:20:23
Think you'll find carlo is being tongue in cheek and saying will they create a new record of not getting the eleven points they managed last time πŸ€”

15 May 2019 16:11:24
In regards to managers and spuds they,ll be more who will have had their chips quickly ,Chris Coleman has even had his Chinese chips , as my old Gran said ,You,ll get the sack and a bag to,put it in "
Precarious job this football management ,,as BC said trust no one ,never truer .

1.) 15 May 2019 18:31:15
Might be precarious carlo, but it's one of the few jobs that you take on sign a three year contract and get paid even as a failure.
If I fitted a bathroom or a kitchen and it leaked I'd have to pay for the failure,so I won't lose any sleep over either

12 May 2019 20:48:19
Did Tyler circum to the pressure tonight ?

1.) 13 May 2019 09:28:11
I watched a very poor match standard is dreadful tyler walker missed gilt edged chanches so for me not up to championship level forest should let him go.

2.) 13 May 2019 12:34:15
Yes he's been missing them all season, lol
Only scored 22 from 44 appearances,shocking statistic.
Everyone has an off day, after all when did grabban last score? And how many penalties did he miss?
You can't form an opinion of him from one match on the tv.

3.) 13 May 2019 13:13:11
Agreed 79.

4.) 13 May 2019 18:54:46
Not just on tv but at the cg as well

5.) 13 May 2019 19:43:43
You didn't see his goals against QPR at the city ground then?πŸ€”

6.) 13 May 2019 20:01:38
Thing is 52 hers grabbans record and mainly in the lower leagues.
Palace 2005 to 2008 1 goal
Motherwell loan none
2008 to 11 millwall 9
2011 to 12 rotherham 18
2012 to 14 Bournemouth 35
2014 to 16 Norwich 13
2017 to 18 Sunderland's and villa 20
Forest 16
Maybe some strikers get better with age? Grabban certainly took his time so why diss Walker for scoring a goal every other game?
Just saying.

09 May 2019 09:30:29

Davis would probably got us up if backed when we were 2nd in the league in Jan in his 1st spell .
In his last Jan window he had some right rubbish imposed on him .
Yes he was a loose cannon but nobody can deny his football was good ,have a poor first half second half guaranteed to be vast improvement .
As a man needed to be controlled to see the best of him but sadly didn,t always happen.
Would I ever have him back?
Under the right conditions Yes.

Like as been said wearing a poppy is to me neither religious or nationalistic just a mark of respect to the fallen and injured in various conflicts , plus nearly every family has had family involved in these conflicts, least we should forget and learn, nothing more.

Has no problem taking English pay ,Don,t want him here .

{Ed007's Note - So a UK citizen born and working in the UK shouldn't be taking 'English pay'? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ James McClean has paid more in British taxes than you ever will earn your life time. People slagging James McClean while celebrating Martin O'Neill's appointment and wanting Keane back is just irony off the scale.}
