Enjoyable second half after a woeful first.
Had Murphy converted one of his two great second half headed chances we would have had an unlikely point.

Ben Osborn has his critics but i thought when he came on he gave us much needed momentum and at least tries to drive the team forward. Granted he gives the ball away on occasion but always gives his all and is a far better option than Bouchalakis and Bridcutt who seem pedestrian in comparison.

Brereton is a complete waste of a shirt at the moment. Yes being played out of position but his body language is all wrong. As No 22 so rightly said there is no excuse for not putting in a shift. Move him or lose him. Darikwa is very poor defensively and it baffles me why he starts ahead of Lichaj. Cohen, Vaughan,Ward and Mancienne would i think make a massive difference to us but they are rarely fit. Mckay is our only highlight at present but more often than not finds himself against three players.

Every time the ball goes in our half i fear we will concede and that cannot be right. I don't pretend to have all the answers but something ain't right and all of you that say we are a work in progress are just deluded. A very frustrated Forest fan.

Completely agree, we need Mancienne back in the defence, Worrall needs to be dropped for a few games.
We defo need a solid defender & a good goal keeper in Jan window.

2.) 24 Sep 2017 07:37:56
Ben Breretons body language is all wrong because he is being asked to play out of position, it all started against the friendly at Notts County, he came on second half and played through the middle, he was full of energy and scored. Next minute he was told to play right wing and he looked like a kid in a sweet shop with no money to spend. He should put in a shift but MW needs to change things instead of churning out a pretty much unchanged 11 each game. Mills is terrible, Worrall inexperienced, Darikwa and Traore go missing up the field far too much, keeper inexperienced. opposition teams do their homework before a game and they just know how to punish us.

Red Fred reporting from sunny Majorca. Went to my lucky bar to watch the game. (I know, should have watched the play-off matches there but couldn't) . Well what an afternoon, wasn't sure about team selection and feared the worst when Caryol went off and we went off the boil after 5 mins especially given our poor second half record. Bread man stuck to his guns and it paid off. What a moment when Cohen scored the second to give us some breathing space! The San Miguel will flow freely tonight. COYR'S!

According to today's paper vaughan definately out for season after appendix opetation. Maybe that will give us green light to get someone else in?

Red Fred

1.) If Vaughan is out for the season then surely we will send him back to Sunderland, it would then make room on wage bill for another signing. Gazza 2969

2.) Sorry, but think no one will come.

Forest Dane

3.) Build it and they will come.

4.) When I removed my appendix I was back at work 3 days after surgery, so this is definatley not the reason Vaughan is out for 3 months. TorofNorway

5.) 75 days till the playoff final
17 days until the transfer window closes

If we are getting in a loan why wait?

It looks like we are not bringing in loans

6.) You removed your own appendix!

7.) We might wait until the very last day to bring loans in to keep the costs down following our 17m losses. Gazza 2969

8.) How hard is TorofNorway - not for his speedy return to work but the fact that he removed his own appendix?

Well 'hard!

9.) Tor maybe you should have removed Vaughan's too? there's a lot to be said for self treatment lol

10.) TorofNorway, removing your own appendix & back to work in 3 days. Impressive.

11.) Depends on what the agreement is with Vaughan. If he is coming to us on a permanent basis, then sending him back to Sunderland may not be an option. Loaning players is difficult, 1) getting the right quality and who is available 2) wage bill, we have to adhere to FFP, which as it stands we arent, so adding to that won't help.

12.) Vaughan is out for the season because of a fractured knee cap, so they're doing his appendix at the same time.
It's a bit similar to Andy Read who was out with a calf problem so they did his hernia at the same time.
Like I'm going to the dentist on Thursday & I'll go and get my haircut at the same time lol.

13.) Its a combination of both, this being his second appendix operation so probably means complications. Sounds like you don't know whether your having a dump or a haircut lol.

14.) Second appendix operation, How many appendix do you have?

15.) Perhaps Thor from Norway could sort Vaughn's kneecap as well

16.) To be honest how many teams could put out a half decent team after the injuries we have had, I do think we would have been top 3 if not so many players out. Billy has brought players to this club that have improved it.
I for one don't want 2 see him go and that's not because I don't question him and his tactics sometimes, He deserves a good crack of the whip without the bad luck we have suffered

17.) So you have doctors in England doing easy operations? You lucky people:) TorofNorway

Now the dust has settled and a new year is upon us It's time for some reflection.
It's easy to forget that Warburton was the 8th manager appointed under Fawaz and was his parting gift to us.
Marinakis did not appoint him but gave him a chance to change our fortunes.
Having kept us up by the skin of our teeth Marinakis gave Warburton funds to strengthen during the close season. Warburton spent approximately 5million on Murphy, Cummings,Bridcutt,McKay and Darikwa. Yes we needed to strengthen up front after Britt's departure but it was plain for everyone to see that we needed to strengthen our back line. Apparently targets were identified but for one reason or another did not materialise. Why other defensive targets were not persued is up for debate but this was a massive factor in Warburton's downfall after seeing himself first hand we were short of numbers and quality in that area.
Another factor in his downfall was that there was no sign of any progress on the pitch whatsoever in 9 months and in fact we were going backwards in terms of performances and results.
Players played out of position and other players (Lichaj, Ward,Vellios,Clough) ignored even when the team he selected was not performing.
What was Marinakis supposed to do?
Some on here think Forest are the only club to go through the managerial merrygoround but just take a look at our recent matches with Derby.
McClaren v Pearce Jan15.
Clement v Freedman Nov15.
Wassall v Williams Mar16.
McClaren v Montanier Dec16.
Rowett v Breadman Mar17.
On all those occasions Derby have been better placed than us but still changed managers.
For now they seem to have found their man.
Maybe one day we will. Here's hoping ๐Ÿ˜€.
It's been a long night and I'm off now.

under ownership offawaz,no one would have wanted to put there name forward for the job.under the new owners, there will be managers out there wanting the job,now that the club as stabalised under the new ownership. warburton had enough time, he was without doubt out of is depth, i feel also that leeds will see a different team playing today the football they know they can play without being tied to the tactics employed by warburton. new hope for the reds in 2018

31 Dec 2017 09:48:32
Wisheyeddove's what the he'll has Rangers earning a point at Celtic yesterday got to do with Warburton?
When Warburton was in charge Celtic thrashed them 5-1 and they ain't beat Celtic for ages.
You Don't need to try to keep convincing me about Warburton's ability but it seems your trying in vain to convince yourself.
The past is the past. Forget Brentford and Rangers as Warburton no longer has anything to do with them and forget the QPR game as that was a one off. If you keep playing the one arm bandit eventually you'll hit the jackpot but it won't happen very often.

My wife bought me one of those "Alexa" gadgets, which it claims can "do anything". so I said "Alexa, make Forest beat Leeds United" she replies "You having a laugh??" Sending it straight back!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

2.) 31 Dec 2017 10:33:35
forest will take on leeds tomorrow. the way there used to play football not the breadmans way. 3 points for sure.

2.) 31 Dec 2017 09:20:03
Yep, worked for Sheff Wed.๐Ÿ˜

3.) 31 Dec 2017 09:26:56
Blidred my thoughts entirely. Football is a simple game complicated by fools.

4.) 31 Dec 2017 10:35:06
see all the down thumbs. my opinion and best of all the breadman as gone to make bread again.

30 Dec 2017 19:25:53
It's a bit one sided on here at the minute.
Have the pro Warburton brigade come to their senses or are they waiting till the rest have gone to bed to have their say?๐Ÿคฃ

Red Fred

1.) 30 Dec 2017 19:41:11
Fred give it a rest and enjoy the fact that we lost and your loving it.
Cus you told us so.
That's why no one can be bothered replying to you.

2.) 30 Dec 2017 19:52:24
No FF you actually managed to convince me during the course of the week that we'd beat Sunderland.
That's the last time I listen to You!

3.) 30 Dec 2017 19:54:41
OMG says you ! Take a bow FF79 youโ€™ve just won the hypocrite of 2017 award . โ€™and itโ€™s hi ho we love warboโ€™ if you canโ€™t take it donโ€™t give it.

4.) 30 Dec 2017 20:01:23
I never spoke Fred, so you'd have a job listening, unless your tablet is like Harry potters?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

5.) 30 Dec 2017 20:01:37
I knew I'd be able to fish you out to play FF79.
Seriously though what did you make of today's performance?
Is it all the players fault or do you lay some of the blame at Warbo's door or is it simply bad luck?

6.) 30 Dec 2017 20:23:45
Dreadful again today sunderland no great shakes teams have now sussed us out but we don't seem to adapt i think at least six players are now surplus to requirmemts bouch must not play in the team again inept vaugh injury prone darikwa not good enough briddcut not strong enough murphy to old even at 34

7.) 30 Dec 2017 21:17:02
So are you saying weโ€™ve wasted 3 million on darikwa a and Murphy then? Itโ€™s not unfeasible that Murphy could get 18!goals is it?

8.) 30 Dec 2017 22:27:42
Honest assessment Fred.
I wouldn't want to manage a lot of these, any workplace won't function with one bad apple never mind a few.

Football is totally different though,as once they sign a contract, you can't sack em.
I just want to get through this season get rid of Hobbs manciene fox mills Vaughan Henderson traore Carayol ward .

Bring in fresh experience to guide and help the youngsters, this lot have and do help themselves and things will only improve when they're gone.
If we sack warbo and bring in a new manager these lot will suddenly be fit and play out of their skins, new contract and they'll be injured or down tools before the ink dries.

Poor today all round, but when your captain makes mistakes on a regular basis and you see young Worrall trying to rouse the players, then that tells me the experienced players are letting us down and the captain is the worst culprit, but we don't posses a captain or leader.

Big mistake for me was pinning hopes on Cohen and Vaughan staying fit.
On the evidence of the last three games send Dowell back, he plays for himself not the team and has no chance under Sam needlessly giving the ball away time after time with fancy flicks.

It takes time to do this though; so times will be tough.
I still enjoy my day anyway I'm with mates and family, and although times ate hard now I've had some fantastic times as a forest fan, so I've learned to cherish the good times and endure the bad times, if I don't like what I'm watching on tv I either turn it over or switch it off, No point shouting and being abusive, as no ones listening.

30 Dec 2017 18:29:14
For the positive among us we are only 10 points off the play-offs.
For the negative we are only 9 points off the bottom 3.
Looking at our next 3 league fixtures I've a pretty good idea which gap is likely to get smaller.

Red Fred

1.) 30 Dec 2017 18:36:29
If Warburton resigns, or gets sacked what would you think then Red Fred.

2.) 30 Dec 2017 18:39:07
Who wanted mid table obscurity anyway. .

3.) 30 Dec 2017 18:58:50
The way I feel at the moment GreyandRedMan it would be like all my Christmases come true.
I'm all for a bit of stability but if he stays in charge I really do fear we could go down.

I'd say so yes. The few posters that complained He's keeping Clough out of the team may disagree but Sunday proved they can both start even though Clough looked lost on the left.

Was pleased he had a good game and scored a good goal against Wolves as I thought for Karanka's first game in charge against Villa Osborn probably had his worst game in a Forest shirt. If not the worst then it was definitely in the top one.

Absolutely 2star.
Since breadman's departure look at the tough games we've had. Leeds away,Arsenal and Villa at home and Wolves away and only lost one of em and that was one nil.
If things hadn't changed we'd have been on our knees after that run of fixtures!

Tight defense that we've been lacking all season. Even against Villa we only conceded 1 soft goal. 2 tough games for Karanka to start with and he's already made us much harder to beat.
Was disappointed with some of the flack Cash got after the Villa game as I thought he did ok for saying he isn't really a right winger. He was truly outstanding today as were all of the lads.
With all the will in the world I couldn't see that coming. Fantastic result and 3 bonus points.
