After a decent unbeaten run gave us some breathing space we are back to being an embarrassing shambles of a team that are all to easy to score against.
If Brentford do the usual in the week and turn us over at home then by the time we get to play the Barnsley fixture it could have massive significance and could see them overtake us in the league.

That postponement could really cost us as at the time if we'd managed to beat them we would have been as good as safe. Now they are playing better and we are getting worse.

Good post Fred but the warning signs have been there for a while now.
Not scoring is always going to end badly as it's a matter of time before we started leaking goals again.
To many loans in the side,it never works long term.
Time to drop them all and play players who are here next season.
Other than tobias I don't want to see any of the others next season.

2.) 07 Apr 2018 20:58:15
Very true. Keeping clean sheets papered over the cracks somewhat.
Apart from the QPR game where everything we hit went in, goals have been as rare as hens teeth. Once the clean sheets dried up it was always going to spell trouble.

3.) 07 Apr 2018 21:51:49
Three goals I've seen in all our home games fred and one away at hull.
Given up with away games too expensive a day to watch his tactics.
Stands there with his hands in his pockets.
Shows no passion and it shows on the pitch.

17 Mar 2018 22:59:26
Worrall and Mancienne getting injured and falling ill in the week building up to the Burton game forced Karanka's hand and may have saved our season.
Since then we've kept 4 clean sheets in the last 7 games with Figueiredo and Fox at centre half so it was a blessing in disguise.

Yes Watson and Colback have provided a more solid wall in front of the back four but would we have kept those 4 clean sheets with Mancienne and Worrall playing? I very much doubt it and remember Colback played in front of them against Fulham and Hull when we conceded 2 in both games.

Red Fred

1.) 17 Mar 2018 23:56:31
Got to agree Fred it shouldn't work on paper but it is.
That's football for you Fred we can all day play Eric he's far better than darikwa? Play anyone except fox as he's crapp?
But sometimes it works as they have an understanding that the so called better players don't.
Can't knock the defensive side of the team.

2.) 18 Mar 2018 05:12:13
Would AK have dropped worrall and mancienne anyway? Worrying if its just luck that forced his hand. Mancienne for me, and i said it many times is poor. I hops worrall watches and learns. He will have future with us for sure. Lkke most on here was delighted that fox has been drafted into the middle. Pants has been a revelation in goal for many reasons but his organisational qualities shine through.
To go to bramall lane, a tough rough team fighting for promotion and keep a clean sheet is commendable and to come out on top second half is evidence of ambition. Well done lads.

3.) 18 Mar 2018 10:39:59
AK knew Manc was no captain and brought in Watson to do the job, the injury was a bit of luck for him. Manc's a possible transfer in the summer, a pity because there is a good footballer in there somewhere.

4.) 18 Mar 2018 14:05:27
I have to say the last few games I watched Worrall play were painful, just mistake after mistake and treating the ball like an unexploded bomb that might explode any second. No doubt he’ll come good but he had started costing us points

5.) 18 Mar 2018 20:20:31
I reckon that getting rid of the ball like an unexploded bomb thing is a hangover from Warburton's ridiculous demand that we ALWAYS played out from the back. How many goals did that gift? Remember Hobbs and Jordan v Sheff Weds? That was a turning point for me. It made two pro's look stupid and gave the opposition ANOTHER goal head-start. We don't see that rubbish any more now we have a defender who has played at the highest level in charge. Hmmm.

10 Feb 2018 21:28:37
Forest lost last 5 home matches.
Failed to score in 7 of last 8.
1 shot on target today at home!!!
Hull's first win in 10.
Hull's second away win in 33!!
We'll be ok when the new signings get match fit. It's not like they've played the game before.
We'll be ok once Karanka decides on the best players for his system.
We've got all the time in the world.

Red Fred

1.) 10 Feb 2018 22:45:14
7 points off bottom 3, with continued form like this it could be squeaky bum time again this season.

2.) 10 Feb 2018 22:46:12
All the players got paid, regardless. This is where football has gone so wrong IMO. Performance related pay and a lower basic. Too late now, player power.👎

24 Sep 2017 00:07:19
Enjoyable second half after a woeful first.
Had Murphy converted one of his two great second half headed chances we would have had an unlikely point.

Ben Osborn has his critics but i thought when he came on he gave us much needed momentum and at least tries to drive the team forward. Granted he gives the ball away on occasion but always gives his all and is a far better option than Bouchalakis and Bridcutt who seem pedestrian in comparison.

Brereton is a complete waste of a shirt at the moment. Yes being played out of position but his body language is all wrong. As No 22 so rightly said there is no excuse for not putting in a shift. Move him or lose him. Darikwa is very poor defensively and it baffles me why he starts ahead of Lichaj. Cohen, Vaughan,Ward and Mancienne would i think make a massive difference to us but they are rarely fit. Mckay is our only highlight at present but more often than not finds himself against three players.

Every time the ball goes in our half i fear we will concede and that cannot be right. I don't pretend to have all the answers but something ain't right and all of you that say we are a work in progress are just deluded. A very frustrated Forest fan.

Red Fred

1.) 24 Sep 2017 06:12:20
Completely agree, we need Mancienne back in the defence, Worrall needs to be dropped for a few games.
We defo need a solid defender & a good goal keeper in Jan window.

2.) 24 Sep 2017 07:37:56
Ben Breretons body language is all wrong because he is being asked to play out of position, it all started against the friendly at Notts County, he came on second half and played through the middle, he was full of energy and scored. Next minute he was told to play right wing and he looked like a kid in a sweet shop with no money to spend. He should put in a shift but MW needs to change things instead of churning out a pretty much unchanged 11 each game. Mills is terrible, Worrall inexperienced, Darikwa and Traore go missing up the field far too much, keeper inexperienced. opposition teams do their homework before a game and they just know how to punish us.

Red Fred reporting from sunny Majorca. Went to my lucky bar to watch the game. (I know, should have watched the play-off matches there but couldn't) . Well what an afternoon, wasn't sure about team selection and feared the worst when Caryol went off and we went off the boil after 5 mins especially given our poor second half record. Bread man stuck to his guns and it paid off. What a moment when Cohen scored the second to give us some breathing space! The San Miguel will flow freely tonight. COYR'S!

Red Fred

1.) 07 May 2017 19:00:15
Hope you wearing dark glasses Fred, all that sunlight after coming out the cave
Seriously have a great holiday and I was wrong last week at QPR but I love my away trips and if I didn't feel positive there'd be no point going
Viva Espani enjoy mate.

2.) 07 May 2017 19:43:30
Plenty to be positive about now Ff79.
Cheers mate.

Anyone got any news on Tomlin?
If he was being saved for the sheep you would have thought he'd at least be on the bench as they did the same with Vydra.

Red Fred

1.) 07 Mar 2018 12:23:03
Slight calf stain apparently and a little jaded definitely saved for the sheep

2.) 07 Mar 2018 15:05:29
Thanks. That's good news then.

20 Feb 2018 23:04:35
Well done Lee Tomlin! Almost another full game after putting in a shift at Burton a few days ago.
He and Lolley very good tonight. Tomlin has to play the No.10 roll from now on.
Disappointed with only 2 points from the last 3 crucial games where a bigger points haul could have seen us all but safe.
Still much work to do and I fear it will go right to the wire.
With only one fit striker at the club the decision to let Cummings, Clough and Walker all go out on loan now seems a bad one. let's hope it doesn't cost us.

Red Fred

1.) 20 Feb 2018 23:59:04
Fred walker and Clough willl keep Bolton up let’s just hope it don’t send us down

17 Feb 2018 18:30:22
Given Eric's red I'd have taken a point but thought we could have still tried to attack occasionally especially as the opposition was Burton.
Fox and Figueiredo looked solid but Burton don't possess the pace to really test them.
Darikwa better than he has been but still a couple of mistakes and allows too much room for the winger to run into allthough Osborn was also guilty of this when he replaced Lichaj.
Brereton was a complete waste of a shirt. Won one flick on all game and just kept jumping into defenders giving away free kicks. I wouldn't play him again this season unless we're down to the bare bones.
Don't expect any free flowing football or many goals under Karanka because That's not what he's about.

Red Fred

1.) 17 Feb 2018 18:36:54
Brereton is crap Fred, he got the positional sense of a squashed hedge hog. By the end of the season I don’t think Osborn, Dowell, smith and Brereton will be any where near the team unless, as you say we are down to the bare bones. Can’t decide about Cash yet and I’d say the same about Worral if we had options.

2.) 17 Feb 2018 18:43:16
Cash did ok again. Ploughed a lone furrow after the red card but never stopped trying to get forward and does provide good cover for the fullback.
I'd sooner see him central though. Not sure how he ever ended up on the wing but suppose his chances of a place in the middle are less likely now with the new arrivals.

3.) 17 Feb 2018 18:47:21
Whoa whoa whoa under Warburton Dowell was are best player and a good player at that also if I remember rightly not long back you was all saying brereton was playing crap under Warburton because he played him out of position so he was crap anyway nothing to do with mw please happy clappers make your mind up and stick to it or at least remember what you’ve posted in the past ☝️

4.) 17 Feb 2018 19:17:48
Brereton is crap no matter where he is played Skegs and I've never said any different. Useless up front and even worse on the wing.
You really do need to get over the breadman's departure though. I'm starting to get a bit concerned over your obsession with him.

5.) 17 Feb 2018 19:21:34
Lol 😂! Happy clappers !

6.) 17 Feb 2018 19:28:29
Didn't go today Fred as Burton stored the loophole of standing in their end.
Listened on radio and it sounded quite poor,my main concern is I can't see where a goal is coming from.
If Brereton is crapp as you say that just leaves Murphy,he's done with vellios by looks of it.
I just think the midfield are too far away from the striker and create very little either.
So doesn't matter who you put up top they will look bad .

7.) 17 Feb 2018 19:30:34
Lol red it wasn’t personal at you and 2star just get fed up with excuses from fans I’m not sticking up for mw I’m just fed up with fans blaming him for everything and not actually looking at the problem that is at the minute Karanka I cannot see where a goal is going to come from for the rest of the season with what he has left is self with like I said 3-4 weeks ago worst forward line up and strike force I have seen in forests history

8.) 17 Feb 2018 19:38:15
Anyway Stella’s are out and I’m going to celebrate the fact we got a draw and teams under us lost so guess it was a bonus 🍺🎶🕺🍺🍺🤪

9.) 17 Feb 2018 19:46:50
I stood with the Burton fans FF79.
Poor old Tomlin was on the receiving end of some comical abuse regarding his weight😂.
Your right about the midfield being too deep. Only Cash is anywhere near the lone striker.
I agree with you and Skegs regarding where our next goal is coming from.
I also struggle to see where our next 3 point game is going to come from.

10.) 17 Feb 2018 19:50:51
Again harsh on Osbourn the lads ran himself ragged for the forest shirt. I'd still rest him for a few games to recharge same for Worrall harsh analysis hasn't had a break in summer being involved with England again I'd rest him a few games. Think we just need to slowly plod this season out hopefully we can pick up a couple wins in next 5 or 6 games just to get to 40 plus points. Games running out though thankfully Burton and Sunderland are garbage and won't get many more points so it could be third spot up for grabs again let's hope we not involved yet again don't think the ticker can take much more.

11.) 17 Feb 2018 19:58:08
When the f*** will we score again? Bring back that loving feeling! I’ll be honest I’m grateful we haven’t lost - but by heck this is bloody frustrating!

12.) 17 Feb 2018 20:06:11
Not knocking the lads efforts Clough, I like Osborn but he’s just looked devoid of any spark lately. A rest as you say would do him good.

13.) 17 Feb 2018 20:17:04
Cheers Fred I did it last year.
And tomlin should not be playing when so clearly unfit.
The way I see it is yes he's toughened up midfield but there is no spark and I'm being totally honest,I want to be entertained as well as hopefully be succesfull again,That's why Karanka is not for me.
Won't stop going I shall be there against reading, but the most I'm hoping for is nil nil.
Is that what we want to see?

14.) 17 Feb 2018 20:36:14
Fair point 2 star it's just so frustrating and demoralizing ain't it being a true red. when all we want is a shot at trying to get into the prem which has only really happened under the psycho sweaty sock. Us fans deserve better especially the amount we take to away games.

15.) 17 Feb 2018 20:43:35
It the tactics clough is god .
It's making a lot if not most look bad.
Can't see it altering either anytime soon.

16.) 17 Feb 2018 22:01:37
Yeah I agree mate why can't we try 442 for a few games wat have we got to lose.

17.) 17 Feb 2018 22:07:15
Yes the attacking entertainment of PM and MW was edge of the seat stuff. Doomers wasn't it? How the boot has swung onto the other foot 😭
Red card completely changed the game with us on top before it.Shame for Lolley who sounded like he was well in the game before the reshuffle.

18.) 18 Feb 2018 06:51:17
breeton is like a rabbit caught in a cars headlights. these young players get good chances to score only to waste every chance they seem to get. they need more experience. get some experienced mature players up front. the chances they waste are criminal. some one needs to show them what they supposed to do when they get the ball in frront of goal. can't beat burton.ffs

19.) 18 Feb 2018 08:40:49
Brereton is crap, Murphy needs putting out to pasture and Velios is head and shoulders the best we have. Players need a run of games, especially strikers and chopping and changing them on a weekly basis is not helping anyone. Pick ya striker and stick with him please.

16 Feb 2018 11:59:32
Last week was only Hull's 2 away win in 33 games.
Burton Albion have not won at home for 5 months!
What could possibly go wrong?
Looks like the points are in the bag 😀.

Red Fred

09 Feb 2018 13:35:28
Not expecting a game for the football purist tomorrow but as long we get the points who cares?
Looks like being a tough battle. Good news is the recent influx of players should see us more prepared for this type of game.
Still concerned about the lack of goal threat and our inability to get anything from a game we fall behind in though.
We have more steel in midfield but if the back five keep making basic errors it will count for nothing. The new midfield should take the pressure off the back five but no midfield can legislate for defensive errors.
Let's hope Pants has been getting some catching practice this week instead of further training for his post football career as a boxer and Worrall and Mancienne have been working on controlling the ball and clearing their lines.
Hull and Burton away will go a long way to defining our season. Win them both and we can dispense with any lingering thoughts of a relegation battle. Lose them both and It's squeaky bum time.
Allthough it was later in the season these next two fixtures remind me of Burton away and Blackburn at home last year when things were in our own hands but we didn't turn up for either and lost both.
Hull and Burton represent a great chance to pull clear as both like us don't score many but ship plenty.
Message to A.K and the boys: let's get the job done in the next two games so we can enjoy what's left of the season without looking over our shoulders.

Red Fred

1.) 09 Feb 2018 16:20:36
I totally agree Fred
However I’m more confident getting the results we need now then depending on the inconsistencies of the squad pre transfer window
I can’t understand how some people on this site don’t see to think that the players that have been brought in were needed !
Hopefully the new Manager and players will he’ll quickly and give us the consistency we need so we can enjoy the rest of the season

2.) 09 Feb 2018 17:38:03
worral is a repeat offender for mistakes. if he makes any agaisnt hull, he needs to be dropped for 6 or 7 games. make him realise he as to do better. cost us many games

3.) 09 Feb 2018 17:49:38
The red Fred crew well I think apart from 3 average players the rest are good for the under 23s bench and we need a quick fix not a work in progress like some say the new manager bounce hasn’t worked at all and if we lose the next to games ask could get is wish of a long stay getting us back up from league one anyway we will get the win tomorrow 4-0 forest pants hat trick cause the forward line if we have one won’t be doing much 😀☝️👎👎👎

4.) 09 Feb 2018 20:59:41
Skegs what are you on about ?who are only fit for the 23s team?

It's almost embarrassing watching us isn't it? Played ok in patches but know matter how well we play you always sense there is a goal just around the corner for the opposition.

Too many free kicks given away to the best exponents of the dead ball in the league, wrong people marking their biggest players, basic stuff really.
Kapino's first game Didn't fill me with any confidence, Manciennes brief appearance shows just why he has been dropped and should never play for us again.
Please Karanka, sign some big uns in the summer.

Better get used to the style of football while he's in charge.
Karanka sets his teams up not to lose first and foremost so it will never be edge of the seat stuff.
Warburton sets his teams up to keep possession. The fact they can neither score nor defend is irrelevant 😂.
