SSN is saying that Reading are close to signing Cox on a permanent deal and also close to getting Mackie on a season long loan. This makes sense after the 2 signings of today. What do you all think?

1.) I think our fans were really quick to get on Fawaz's back and that disappointed me. Looking good for the season absolute tonne of deadwood cleared with the obvious exceptions. Exciting season ahead.

2.) It just did not work out for Cox and wish him well. Was at the WBA game and Mackie looked well moody and did not really interact with the others during warm up, just looked unhappy so am not surprised to see him go out on lone as he probably knows Burke will be in front of him this season.

3.) I would keep Mackie! Gives his all, he would be better under Pearce!

4.) 07 Aug 2014 06:40:51
agree think Mackie would be worth another season, can't see reading wanting to pay all of his wages

5.) "I will druve him myself" - definitely best tag name on here! Superb - keep chuckling to myself.

I think its right call to move Mackie & Cox on. Havent done enough for me.

Having said that afterbsome of my comments on yesterdays transfers being do far off the mark they will probably finish 1st &2nd in top scorers list now!!

Peterborough Telegraph saying that Britt Assombalonga is currently at The City Ground undergoing a medical ahead of a £5m move. No mention of £5m up from rising to £8m.

COYR.

1.) Good player although no player in league 1 is worth that.

2.) These 2 lads are exactly what we have been crying out for! Fast paced direct football but without the long ball hoofing! It will be a refreshing change from the tip tap tip tap style with not much end product. Ball on the floor with pace and goals. Brilliant.

3.) Natalie confirms he's here for medical and fee of 5.5 mill. Surely not. Can't believe he's worth that much.

4.) £5m really, I'd expect to pay that for a good premier player not an un proven league 1 player ( or in real money a 3rd division player ). Hey look out here comes Forest let's rip em off again!!

5.) Done confirmed by fawaz welcome aboard britt

6.) 06 Aug 2014 19:18:36
Well wot a day to be a red. amazing signings hope all the fawaz doubters are eating there words now that man is a star. roll on sat wot a time ahead we have can't wait. all now for henri to stay but can't see it up to him offers there. we dnt want players at our club who dnt want to play for for the shirt. osbourne will do a good job and will get better and better. ftid

7.) Unbelievable amount of money for a League 1 player! Sorry but if he is worth that amount then what is the going rate for Lansbury? Yes I know this guy is a striker however he is unproven at this level. Add in undoubted various clauses this will rise even more. Dunno what is going on at the moment with the finances. But if KD & JL were sold to satisfy FFP why rinse all the money on one who player is unproven? Granted I am no expert but I am a season ticket holder and cannot believe what is going on right now. I fully expect Lansbury to leave now which could be devastating. Hopefully Reid will stay fit. Still our best player.

{Ed034's Note - that's how much strikers go for. McCormack at £12m or assombolanga at £5m???

8.) Patterson could fill that role

9.) Its a bit like buying a house in London,
If you don't pay the going rate you don't get the house/player

10.) Ed I do agree with you however McCormack is totally proven. Assombolanga is raw and unproven. A huge risk in my eyes. Rhodes would have cost a bit more but is proven. Its not my only point though. It kind of makes a mockery of what Fawaz said about FFP. The money from JL and KD has now gone. Just don't understand the logic?

{Ed034's Note - he's had one good season and is what age?? I think this lad can get a lot better than McCormack and at half the price, he's less of a risk

11.) Is that the transfer record. can't quite remember if that's more than PVH

{Ed034's Note - yes. Pvh was £4.5m

12.) What a day two great signings I think. We now have a starting eleven to be feared. I hope all the individuals that have gave Fawaz grief have been on the bird site apologising and given him positive tweets this time around. Saturday is going to be awesome at the CG wish I was there.

13.) Rhodes to Blackburn £8 million.
Ox to a Arsenal £12 million rising to £15m.
Dwight Gayle to Palace £8.5 million including rumoured add ons.
All league one transfers although Huddersfield and Southampton had just been promoted.
He looks pure quality and just what we have been crying out for. Pace, power. A real match winner-dreaming of a new Collymore!

Daily Star saying Bournemouth to pay £7.5m for Antonio.

I noticed that Fawaz had said earlier in the week that he had no intention of selling any player who wanted to be part of the club.

By this can we assume that Antonio wants to leave then?

1.) 12 Jul 2015 00:30:43
Surprised by this. can't see where Antonio fits in at Bournemouth.

2.) 12 Jul 2015 07:12:46
Twenty years ago could we have ever imagined we would be trying to convince one of our prize assets that Bournemouth is less attractive than forest!

Would we have ever thought we would be tempted to sell to a club like Bournemouth who could afford to make such a tempting offer ?

What a funny game !

7.5 mil surely we have to consider this don't we?

3.) 12 Jul 2015 08:11:22
Try 12 months ago we would never sold to bournemouth

4.) 12 Jul 2015 10:10:26
Yes we do have to consider it.£7.5 million for a championship player that's had one good season is a lot of money.

5.) 12 Jul 2015 10:16:34
Selling Antonio is plain stupidity,if Fawaz thinks the money will help towards FFP he is sillier than i thought, the only way out of it is to pull your belts in or get promotion,Fawaz is a gambler i think Antonio will stay,BUT!! he might just flog him to get us out quicker then reinvest i sincerely hope not, because if he does Division 1 here we come 😞

6.) 12 Jul 2015 10:42:53
You definitely are Cuckoo mate!

7.) 12 Jul 2015 10:45:21
So we are now a one man team are we?fans who know a bit about football have said we have good individuals but they don't work as a team yet we are saying don't sell Antonio because we will end up in league 1.no we won't.teams will just double up on him next season and he will have an average season.he won't score as many and he won't assist as many as he did last year.a £6million profit for a seasons work is bloody good.without Britt ion the team opponents only have to look after Antonio.
Don't get me wrong I want Antonio to stay because he will have good games but I think there will be fewer this year than last.i would love him to stay and prove me wrong.

8.) 12 Jul 2015 11:12:11
Looks like DF has decided we are to be in a"holding" mode this season, aiming to stay in the top 12 or so; if that's the case selling Antonio would fit into the idea, using Ward, O Burke and namesake etc as wingers. All managers in the Championship must have FFP in the back of their minds, and keeping the club financially stable - as NC did at Direby- must now be a factor.

9.) 12 Jul 2015 11:29:27
Cuckoo
Selling Morgan to Leicester and Bamford to Chelsea was silly too but it saved us from going into administration.
We need to balance the books and get back to reality.

10.) 12 Jul 2015 13:21:39
How much do we owe the FFP,could we clear some of it by good cup runs, bsered says Dougie will play a holding game so be it,if he does that then i think Antonio will go and we will rely on our widemen to provide the crosses for the striker's

All I can say is that as a Forest fan for 31 years home and away every game is that I am absolutely gutted.
"Psycho" you still are and always will be a true Forest legend.
Good to you mate, you'll always be the in my opinion the greatest, most passionate man who ever or will ever wear the garibaldi.
At least you oversaw the greatest win over the sheep before you went.
Cheers mate.

If it was me I'd sell him because if all these rumours are true then the last thing we need is one player with this kind if attitude bringing down what appears to be a very positive place at the moment. Henri is a very good player but not irreplaceable. I'd hold out for top whack and then replace him. In pretty sure that Psycho will know how to handle him.
