Squad numbers announced and the squad has 26 players in it. two more in is 28 so 5-6 out the door.

uptheforest

1.) 31 Jul 2017 16:29:01
Wonder who is going to be photo shopped into the empty seat in the team photo 😂.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 16:44:43
I think a midfielder and Leftback will come in (Macdonald and Bidwell maybe? ) taking number 3 and 7 and I think he will try to get a experienced keeper possibly on loan even to help improve Smith as number 1 this season.

Full Squad numbers for those who haven't seen them :
2 – Eric Lichaj
4 – Michael Mancienne
5 – Matt Mills
6 – Armand Traore
8 – Chris Cohen
9 – Daryl Murphy
10 – Barrie McKay
11 – Ben Osborn
13 – Danny Fox
14 – Matty Cash
16 – Zach Clough
17 – Ben Brereton
18 – Mustapha Carayol
19 – Jamie Ward
24 – David Vaughan
25 – Jack Hobbs
26 – Dimitar Evtimov
27 – Tendayi Darikwa
28 – Thomas Lam
30 – Stephen Henderson
31 – Andreas Bouchalakis
34 – Tyler Walker
35 – Jason Cummings
39 – Apostolos Vellios
42 – Joe Worrall
43 – Jordan Smith.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 20:46:58
Disappointed that Edsers not on the squad list I really rate him. I would think Evtimov will go out on loan when Henderson's fit and perhaps Kyle Walker leaving a 24 man squad.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 21:45:18
We just brought him from Man City we could only dream 😂😂.

5.) 01 Aug 2017 00:22:53
So basically we haven't got a goalkeeper good enough for the number one jersey, a left back to wear 3 or a midfielder/ winger good enough to wear 7 (or is out injured still along with Fryatt) . Would have liked to have seen Clough be given 10 but glad Brereton and Cash now have respectable squad numbers. Could Joe Worrall not have had 12 or 15 or something instead of 42. Or does he genuinely think he's the answer to life, the universe and everything?

6.) 01 Aug 2017 08:08:53
Players are stupidly superstitious so if they did well will want to keep there number from the season before. plus some fans would of had there names and numbers put on the new home shirt.

7.) 01 Aug 2017 09:03:48
How do you know that downtheforest?
Speculation and guess work. Bless you!

8.) 01 Aug 2017 10:19:21
Smith wanted number 1 but was only offered number 12 so he dicided to stay with 43, make of that what you will.

27 May 2017 20:07:35
Steve Sutton has left the club as goalkeeper coach and has been replaced by someone from . wait for it .
rangers. who would of thought!

uptheforest

1.) 27 May 2017 21:29:31
More structure into the club if you take the trouble to read Stewarts CV and remit.

Steve Sutton has been a great servant but we need a coaching structure and ethos running through all levels of the club.

Onward and Upwards.

2.) 28 May 2017 06:57:09
Stewart looks a good signing. The new owner must have given the ok.

01 Apr 2017 07:56:21
Matty fryatt will be back in the squad today.

uptheforest

1.) 01 Apr 2017 09:13:36
Matty who? Why would he be in the squad? He is a striker, surely in front of him for selection in that position would be Assambolonga, Brereton, Clough, Vellios, Mcormack. Fryatt will be 6th choice, he's not got a chance of even making the bench.

2.) 01 Apr 2017 09:48:08
🎣 first one of the day.

3.) 01 Apr 2017 09:51:44
Warburton has stated he will not rush him back after 2 years out, so unlikely.

4.) 01 Apr 2017 10:11:32
Haha, good work UTF.

5.) 01 Apr 2017 10:36:03
Just the two today.

6.) 01 Apr 2017 12:26:29
lol UTF, made me chuckle, nice fishing.

7.) 01 Apr 2017 13:16:44
Just a little bit of April foolery only the two fools hooked.

8.) 01 Apr 2017 14:27:42
The midfield will create 1 half decent opportunity for Britt.

9.) 01 Apr 2017 14:51:10
Perks1

Britt is going to run all the way from our box because he has some defending to do, to go on and score, and win goal of the season.

10.) 01 Apr 2017 22:14:36
Tomorrow

Ben Brereton almost did this today with a pass from Jordan Smith following a corner where he ran the whole length of the pitch and hit the keeper!

11.) 01 Apr 2017 22:44:56
I know, what a joy to watch a player be positive, and want to influence the game rather than being happy to go through the motions by only playing safe passes and just wanting rid of the ball when they get it.

21 Mar 2017 21:09:10
Marty fryatt is back in training apparently!

uptheforest

1.) 21 Mar 2017 22:41:42
You sure he's not just got back on a train 🚂.

2.) 22 Mar 2017 05:04:08
I don't care if he plays from now until the end of the season- he should never be offered another contract at our club. Thanks Matty but no thanks, your time here is up.

3.) 22 Mar 2017 07:40:50
He should play the next 3 years for free.

4.) 22 Mar 2017 09:40:48
If this is true, good luck to the lad. Matty did not ask to get injured. He is obviously battling against a career threatening injury and needs all our moral support.

The mentality of those who criticise Matty is sadly typical of some fans. We all know that footballers get paid very well, but that is another issue. Anyone with any decency will wish Matty all the best in his recovery. At his age and with his injury record, he is unlikely to be offered much more than a pay as he plays deal.

Good luck Matty, I hope you make a full recovery.

5.) 22 Mar 2017 11:49:41
Don't think fans wish him bad.
It's more to do with a total lack of information from the club itself, whenever a player gets injured we get no updates from anyone in the club as when and if the player will return so then the rumours start about all sorts same as did with Reid
So come on Mcparland let's have informa tion from within the club and then the fans will understand the situation.

6.) 22 Mar 2017 14:01:45
You don't have to blame the club for everything- the player could give an interview and talk about his injury and possibly let us know how he is working for the clubduring his recovery period. I'm sure he would be helping the club or the younger players somehow and isn't just having treatment and going home.
You have seriously got to question how and why we actually signed him though? An injury plagued player signs a lucrative contract and then gets injured? You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that ones not a good deal.

7.) 22 Mar 2017 16:03:31
So you don't have to blame the club for everything, I wasn't just stating a fact that club fail to give enough information on injuries nothing else
If you question how and why we signed him then that's simple BLAME THE CLUB they signed him.

8.) 22 Mar 2017 16:51:17
'The club and fawaz is easy to blame'? I'd be looking more at the medical staff? Who would do the medical? Is it in house or external?

9.) 22 Mar 2017 16:53:54
I do agree it's bad pr not keeping fans informed but the player could give an interview? I can't work out why the club wouldn't let him do that or suggest that he should?

10.) 22 Mar 2017 16:55:08
Obviously all the fans on here, injured at work, would refuse any money from their employers! They would leave their job immediately and accept no assistance, financial or otherwise . YEAH RIGHT!

11.) 22 Mar 2017 18:04:00
Billy what if the injury happened before you went to work for that company? Slightly different slant to it then? Maybe the medical wasn't done thoroughly?

12.) 22 Mar 2017 18:21:35
Any club can sign the odd crock but we seem to sign ours and someone else's share. enough is enough!
CARLO.

13.) 22 Mar 2017 22:34:02
Just posted on banter page about matty fryatt record you might find it interesting reading
As regards sicknotes we supposedly sign Pinilos wasn't injury prone either before we signed him
Some clubs have bad injury records
Arsenal are an example of that and we are as bad
Could be bad luck or poor training
But players don't go out of their way to get injuries.

01 Feb 2017 16:59:42
A local brum paper put out last night that Lansbury got carded and will miss the game with us on Saturday.lansbury wasn't booked and they took the story down.so if he's fit he will be in the squad on Saturday.

uptheforest

1.) 01 Feb 2017 22:57:03
You know if Lansbury plays he will wind people up and exaggerate fouls. Guarantee he will score a free kick against us if he plays. He did have his good games for us and did give us that edge when others were poor.

2.) 02 Feb 2017 09:49:51
If you were having a bet then Lansbury to score would be a good prospect.

3.) 02 Feb 2017 09:52:33
More likely that he will get wound up and then be red carded, especially if he's up against our McCormack!

4.) 02 Feb 2017 10:01:10
He may score against us if he is playing but 100% it won't be from a free kick!

5.) 02 Feb 2017 10:03:36
If McCormack is on loan from Villa I would very much doubt he will be allowed to play against his own club, would be great if he can.

6.) 02 Feb 2017 12:09:38
As mcormack is on loan from villa, he won't be able to play, n as for lansbury good bet he gets booked.

7.) 02 Feb 2017 12:47:05
Villa said they've bought a dead ball specialist. They've obviously never seen Henri take a free kick. The funny thing is they had a bloke who really can hit em and they've loaned him to us. Nice one !

8.) 02 Feb 2017 14:40:00
Lansbury playing against us don't faze ne in the slightest. He will always make rash challenges and give away plenty of free kicks, he's the typical now i got my nice contract i can sit back abit type player. Plays when he wants to play, goes missing in games whenhe don't want to play. 2 seasons ago was him at his peak. Nothing special from him consistently over last or this season. Work on the set pieces and him playing is our advantage.

9.) 02 Feb 2017 20:35:55
Watch out those sat in the trent end lansbury is taking the free kicks ! Hope we get a good crowd in on saturday the yam yams will bring 3000 hope we can get at least 25000 and get right behind the trickies, coyr.

10.) 02 Feb 2017 21:07:41
They won't bring 3000 as we limit them to 2000, lol.

What's everyone's thoughts on team today and formation.
I think mw will be a little negative today and only play 3up front when attacking.

uptheforest

1.) 12 Aug 2017 12:02:51
All out attack and rush goalie-who needs formations 👍.

23 Jul 2017 07:56:16
Just read about a bloke that worked for the club for 26 years and they sacked him via email. won't get as many air miles as it would of last year by still not very good is it? hope they will learn from it.

uptheforest

1.) 23 Jul 2017 08:24:22
UTF. It is not a good way of going about it, do you know why he was sacked.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 08:53:36
How would you feel after 26years service and you got an email saying your sacked? on a day of work wouldn't it be best to pull him the office and tell him face to face thank you for all your hard work over the years but we are going to have to let you go?
Obviously it doesn't work like that this time round.

3.) 23 Jul 2017 09:46:48
UTF. What are you on about? I agreed with you, i just asked if you knew why he was sacked, there are after all different reasons for being sacked.

4.) 23 Jul 2017 11:00:14
Iv not seen the email but it's prob his age and not much work for him. i don't think he wants to say much about it as forest is in his blood.
Shame that they treat loyal people like this. fans and clubs want loyal players but how can players be loyal when the club they work for sack a block who's been there 26yrs via email?

5.) 23 Jul 2017 11:42:55
These are sad times.

6.) 23 Jul 2017 12:11:04
Always 2 sides to every story as well.

7.) 23 Jul 2017 12:33:42
On the other hand the club is being re-organised internally in all areas catering, stewards, marketing. retailing all of which have been poorly run for years so there are bound to be redundancies and it looks like quite a lot of staff are having to re-apply for their jobs.

Given the scale of the changes email is the modern way to communicate quickly and efficiently to move this process forward in time for the new season. Depending on this persons contract they will have had a review meeting prior to receiving the news so everyone will have been treated equally in the process.

8.) 23 Jul 2017 12:47:26
Two sides to a story? its not that he's been sacked its the way he was told that we are talking about.
Rie do you not think that it's a poor way regardless of the changing times to sack someone who's been there 26years through an email?
Again whilst he was at work how hard would it of been to call him into an office and say thankyou for all your hard work over the past 26 years face to face?
It's poor.

9.) 23 Jul 2017 12:54:50
Cant sack anyone for being too old or not enough work.
Can be made redundant which is a whole different scenario.

10.) 23 Jul 2017 15:34:18
It's the reaction I expected.

11.) 23 Jul 2017 15:39:52
Utf do you know the guy? If not you don't know he has worked hard for all those years? Just because someone has worked somewhere for 26 years does not make them hard workers- I've got some people who've worked for us for 30 yrs + they probably haven't done a proper shift for the last 15 years. This guy may have been hard done by but the length of service is not a sign of that.

12.) 23 Jul 2017 18:38:40
Exactly 2tone.

Unfortunately football is plagued by "jobs for the boys" and Forest have been worst than most given the historic ownerships.

I'd be interested to know what this person did as over 26 years NFFC have not exactly invested in people, technology and training and the world has moved forward beyond all recognition so we all have a shelf life and cannot stand still?

13.) 24 Jul 2017 09:32:23
Good old basset found out he was sacked whilst reading the paper if memory serves,

20 Jul 2017 22:48:12
3 year deal for Murphy? Are we actually joking that means we have him until he's 37!

uptheforest

1.) 20 Jul 2017 23:04:19
That's a strange signing.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 23:11:51
Utf all I can say is dynamic.
Did tell you. 😀😀.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 00:27:24
3 year deal = lower wages and he will just be used as a target man.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 00:48:38
in the team that took us to the playoffs adabola was 35 and ernie was 30 i'm not saying we will get to the playoffs this time but we need to support the club regardless of age nationality or size otherwise we are going to carry on going round in circles till we disappear up our own arses .

5.) 21 Jul 2017 01:04:27
Hope he's got a tough head with those rockets from mills. 😀😀.

6.) 21 Jul 2017 06:16:22
Chugsy we aren't in an embargo so that makes no sense. we did that with mills and ward to offset there wage because of the embargo. we will have to pay him till he's 37 years old yes 37.1 year contract with option to extend would of been fair for his age.

7.) 21 Jul 2017 07:07:40
Murphy scored a goal every 209 mins last season
Vydra scored a goal every 366 mins. lol.
And derby fans say we are getting ripped off and Murphy is crap. lol. murphy also assisted 2 goals vydra 1.
Still miffed bout contract length.

8.) 21 Jul 2017 07:39:32
Why would anyone on here be bothered what derby fans say about our signings? Isn't our own opinion enough? Maybe it's the same fans that would slate their signings?

9.) 21 Jul 2017 08:02:39
2tone, all that UTF seems to care about when we are linked with, and sign players is what other clubs fans think about them. That is how he decides what to think about them, instead of waiting to see for himself.

10.) 21 Jul 2017 12:20:09
Thing is bright future I take opinions from the clubs fans where that said player has come from or is coming from. they more than likely know a little more than what you see on a YouTube vid of that player. they judge him on a season not there best bits of that season. is that wrong?

11.) 21 Jul 2017 13:33:36
UTF. You and YouTube, you seem to be transfixed by it. I know better than to trust that medium. A player can be rubbish at one club, and brilliant at another and vice versa. I try to trust the mangers judgement, then my own eyes.

12.) 21 Jul 2017 13:56:59

13.) 21 Jul 2017 14:47:10
UTF. That is funny, i said i do not trust YouTube, then you mention it again. any player i know nothing about i would not rely on fans that feel betrayal at him leaving. Look at how good Bonny was at Swansea, then went to City and could not cut it there, then on to Stoke. Trust in the manager until the player proves otherwise.

17 Jul 2017 21:22:08
Announced he's gone. glad we got the two Scottish players though 👍👍.

uptheforest

1.) 17 Jul 2017 21:39:19
Good luck britt time to move on gud players and better have come and gone. Whether it be money or just fed up at forest no blame for him going. It hasn't exactly been fun at forest for him and everybody else so tara britt see u on august the 17th when we take 3 points.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 21:42:44
Boro complete Assombalonga deal Sky Sports 21:41.

3.) 17 Jul 2017 22:10:49
Obviously its not about premiership football then is it.

4.) 17 Jul 2017 22:11:02
Some people need to grow up and wish the lad good luck rather then wish bad on him.2months ago his goals in the last game kept us up in this league so I wil say a massive thankyou and wish him well and hope he does well and stays injury free for the rest of his career.
Good luck lad.

5.) 17 Jul 2017 22:19:17
Chairman take note on our best young players Peterborough have just made 3 million quid in sell on clause not bad to say he's been injured for 15 months fair play them for getting it right.

6.) 17 Jul 2017 22:39:02
If grow is aimed at me up the forest I was just stating a fact, it its my opinion that's what this is all about you won't be wishing him well if he bangs a hat trick against us I was stating why sell him to a championship team pathetic.

7.) 17 Jul 2017 22:46:22
where you seen they get 3million? has someone daughter told you or been to any airports recently?

8.) 18 Jul 2017 06:20:04
20% sell on fee read Peterborough, s chairman, s views before the sale, as for my daughter let's not go down that route its a banter forum not personal.

9.) 18 Jul 2017 06:24:32
No it wasn't aimed at you it was aimed at the low life who wished a bad injury on britt.
britt was bought to score goals he did that for us and is now moving on. we all know he will score against us that's a given, I won't call him for it tho he's doing his job.

10.) 18 Jul 2017 06:58:17
OK fair enough I apologise if the comment wasn't direct at me, and I wouldn't want him injured I was just making a statement about loyalty especially selling to a championship club.

07 Jul 2017 17:39:28
Anyone seen the club statement from forest green rovers chairman? its about time clubs started standing up to other clubs regarding transfers of there best players. looks like notts county have been playing naughty tactics to try and get Liam noble from forest green. they should be getting a transfer ban.

uptheforest

1.) 07 Jul 2017 18:35:41
If that is true it is wrong, but sadly it happens too often. It is done in different ways, approaching players, or their agents before their club, putting in small bids and making it public to unsettle a player, and many more tactics but rarely is anything done. I'm would not be surprised if we are guilty at some time.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 20:08:52
Agree an it needs to be stoop and fair play to there chairman for sticking hair neck out and telling it how it is just maybe the fa will do something and make an example.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 21:09:28
UTF. Liverpool were accused of underhand tactics trying to get a player, they then pulled out of the attempted transfer and said sorry, therefore admitting guilt. Yet nothing was done, so do not hold out for any hope in this case.

The owner should have to tell him to change as that's undermining him also if a quality (not my words) manager can't see his style isn't working and do something about it then what hope is there?we don't want owners telling managers what to do!well we didn't the last 5years anyway.

Bang on binns.
People say smith is too small and doesn't command his box and come for crosses. yet people loved de vries who was all of 1inch taller who was a good shot stopper but you tell me how many crosses he came for, very little is the answer. he was always stuck on his line. when corners came in where was he? on his line. defenders shouldn't need to be told to jump for a ball and head clear that's basic defending isn't it?

Ff79 you need to see the freeze frame of the goal then as he is defo on side as mills back foot is on the 18 yard line and the attackers is just off the line.if mills would of tracked him like he actually was we would of been ok but he went to the ball like a 10year old.

Watch the 1st goal again.mills runs with te attacker then leaves him without telling anyone to cover!he just runs 5yards in a leaves the attacker to do what he wants.that is shocking defending in my eyes.if your running with that player don't just leave him
