An update on the search for a new CEO was given by paul taylor in his web chat today. Forest are said to be wanting to interview two possible candidates within the next week, one rumoured to be paul faulkner, the ex aston villa CEO.

K175

1.) I said the other week on here if we could get Paul Faulkner as CEO it would be a major coup he is very good at his job

2.) Sorry never heard of him.

{Ed034's Note - this would be a good signing pal. Very good at villa and is well thought of within the game

3.) Ask Aston villa fans if he was very good at his job!
Guarantee they will say there glad to see the back of him!

no thanks.

{Ed034's Note - typical positive post ey Jon. I have spoken to villa fans and the majority I have spoken to have said he does his role well. Don't get me wrong, there's always one or two that can only see the bad, but I suppose that just like most clubs

4.) Excellant

5.) Just being honest! The villa forums I've been on are 90%negative against him and are glad that he's stepped down. me personally would rather have someone more experienced and more of an interest in football and not just figures. Fawaz will sort it, i'm sure.

{Ed034's Note - within football he has a very good rep and a CEO is not there to be liked by fans, he is there to interact with clubs and keep things running smoothly.
Most fans I have spoken to understand this and understand he does this well. Some fans are taking their frustrations of not competing out on him

6.) Yeah ed that's probably a fair comment, villa fans are frustrated at not only him but Lerner as well. My point is we want a happy family, we had enough of bad feeling when B'davies was here! we all want everybody to be on the same side. but what will be, will be. I guess.

{Ed034's Note - only way to have one of those is by winning. If we don't, fans look for a scapegoat

7.) It's definitely a happy family at the moment! hopefully continues all the way to championship glory! If not Pearce will be sacked and we start all over again.

Henri lansbury is close to signing a new contract

K175

{Ed034's Note - lets hope this prediction is better than your others

1.) 18 Jun 2014 16:11:51
I hope he does because in my veiw we should be building a team round him.

2.) Great player but Arsenal got rid because of health issues, if we can keep him fit for a season would be a massive boost to the promo push!

{Ed034's Note - arsenal sold because Henry wanted first team football

3.) He wants a London club, I wouldn't get your hopes up

4.) Wots not to like about notts? Londons overrated anyway, come on Henry, you know it makes sense!

Edwinstowe red #2

5.) I fear that he will return to London, maybe qpr, Fulham, palace? Hope not because he is in the starting 11 every time for me and will be disappointed if he leaves, who would replace him?, how much would he be worth?

6.) Sorry but have I missed something again here? Who said Lansbury wants to move to a London club? If it was Lansbury himself then who did he say it to and when?

7.) Edwinstowe he wants an established Premier league side in London which basically means, Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea (maybe West Ham) and not sure they're after him. My question is who is he chatting too as Pearce in Brazil and Fawaz in Kuwait (or was last time I heard).

8.) NFFCDave he's probably got a phone or computer.

9.) We could arrange the odd knees up round the piano with some jellied eels, and pie and mash, Gaawden Bennett! lavely jabbllee.

10.) SIME
In answer to your post

I love nottm and have lived here all my life

But if I was a young lad with lotsa money and had the choice nottm or London it would be London every time even if you think London is overrated!

11.) Thefamousteam

I know it did sound like I was generalising a bit, it's just a personal choice, I just don't like our capital!just hope Henri agrees!

12.) I think he's our best player. Full stop. I also think he should be the best player in this division if kept fit and played right.

I'd let him live in London and pay for his daily commute via first class on the train if it keeps him happy.

13.) Or A Block Kev let him live in London and iam sure Fawaz must have a helicopter knocking about somewhere 40 minutes tops

14.) Hello I'm still here! Can somebody in the know actually answer my question please?

15.) I do agree sime I would prefer to live in nottm also and I hope Henri agrees but I just fail to see how a young lad with lotsa money wouldn't prefer London over nottm

16.) Just to let everyone know London is only an hour and a half away. Lansbury is from Potters Bar which is at the top and right a bit.

17.) Willow
It's an hour and half at best.
Most days it's a lot more

In any case no club is going to allow a play to live 120 miles away.

18.) I heard its his missus who wants to go home, I myself would leave any job for my wife.

{Ed034's Note - he split up with her about a year ago

19.) He split with his mrs that's where the rumours he wants to go back to London came from how ever he has said in the post since that (a little while ago) that he wants an improved contract

20.) I thought he wanted to go back to London to try and rebuild his marriage

{Ed034's Note - he's not married

21.) 19 Jun 2014 07:09:02
Maybe if he was married and and it went wrong then maybe he would want to go back to London to sort it out. Maybe.

{Ed034's Note - he wasn't married

22.) Maybe is new bird is from Larndarn! Peanarrrts!

{Ed034's Note - maybe the rumour is just made up by an idiot looking for attention on the bird site

Forest are interested in bringing both, nick powell and jesse lingard, in on loan for the season from manchester united.

K175

1.) 06 Jun 2014 20:53:05
I'm sure pretty much half the championship be interested in this pair. Both would be good additions but can see Powell getting a lower premier league team move

2.) Hasnt lingard signed for Cardiff

3.) Mod red, no he hasn't, think you might be getting confused with Frederco Mecheda? Think lingard would be a great signing, bags of potential. COYR

4.) At last, a feasible rumour of two young players that I would definitely be interested in!

5.) If true brilliant I think these lads are the type of players we should be after.

6.) Nick Powell would be a great signing. Can't see it happening though until van gaal has assessed the squad. He couldn't do a worse job in the Manchester United midfield though than those that played last season. Another quality central midfielder is a must though

7.) Lingard is so overrated wouldn't be that pleased with him

11 May 2014 19:46:16
Stuart pearce has put Ross McCormack at the top of his transfer list.

K175

1.) Would be good news if true.
Is this in the media or are you itk?

2.) 11 May 2014 21:26:45
27 goals in that team, I would imagine he is the top of a lot of managers shopping list and not just in the Championship. Would be a great acquisition though.

3.) Macormack would be fantastic but can see prem teams sniffing. but that was said last season bout rhoades and he's still at blacburn. think it will take bid of 5m to get him. but heres my lists of who I would go for 2 forwards.
macormack lefondre 1st choice pairing.
rhoades lefondre. if macormack or rhoades were not available.
wickem lefondre. or
wilson lefondre am saying lefondre because I do think we could get him.

4.) They turned down £5m from west ham for him they will NOT sell to us

5.) Leeds will fancy themselves for a top 6 and will not sell to us nor do I think they will sell to another championship side. Forget Rhodes, Le fondre, Mccormack or any other top Championship sides best striker. Best bet is Wilson or Baldock lower league strikers who will want to make the step up, Whickham looks like it could happen also.

6.) Can't see Wickham personally, I think Poyet would be daft not to offer him a new deal tbh.

Think you're right about lower league/young strikers. No way we will get a big name as we won't pay that kind of money on 1 player.

7.) Le Fondre only has a year left on his contract he is a possibility. As for the others rhodes, McCormack and Wickham no chance sadly

8.) 12 May 2014 13:44:35
I agree with the guy above. Lower league is where we need to go. Hungrier players not kids from the premier league on ridiculous wages who think they're gods gift. Baldock for me.

9.) I think we should be slightly more optimistic about attracting better players to the club now with the legend that is SP at the helm.

10.) Nouha dicko of wolves would be a gud shout loads of pace and natural goalscorer

11.) Pearce being former England under 21 manager will be linked to a lot of plays that he worked with. We don't need foreign Mercenary’s like the Albanians let's get English young players that want to play football for a great club, just as long as they can score goals unlike Cox or dead weight Blackstock

If lansbury left who would you move for to replace him? I know he would be very hard to replace if at all possible at championship level. But how about a bid for andy king from leicester city?

K175

1.) Andy King would be a good shout.

2.) Can't see Fester selling us any players.

3.) Assuming we got good money, i'd move for Nick Powell & Adlene Guedioura.

Little update on the rumour of us being in for adam clayton. John percy (the journalist who broke the michael mancienne transfer this morning) has said that we 'like him' but we have not yet made a bid. brighton and boro remain in for him after having bids turned down

Looking at the squad in portugal, it seems to be very small, I know there is injurys but I have'nt seen the likes of hendo or mackie? I can see why hendo might be on the move but you would of thought mackie would fit in to the kind of team pearce would want? Are there any other players missong of note?

K175

1.) Reid, Cohen, Hobbs, Wilson, Blackstock, Lascelles Henderson, Harding and the American full back.

2.) Squad is almost as small as SP's shorts on the training camp video

Been confirmed by a journalist who is a boro fan that it is not true. Forest will not be making a bid for adomah again

I honestly don't think boro would let him come to us, unless for silly money. Can see them wanting 4 mill at least for him, and I don't think we will pay that. I also think sheffield united will want around 3 mill for maguire too, so can we really see us spending around 7 mill on 2 players? Doubt it. Think we will end up using the laon market for these kind of players

I think cox with a manager who will get the best out of him and plays him up front with another striker, not on his own, will be good for us.

Dean cox has been good enough to play in the championship for some time now. just needs his chance, i'm sure he will do very well at any club he moves to
