I'm told Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov could be playing for the stags against count tomorrow

Willow

1.) U mean you have just read a journos post

2.) I really rate this guy think he will be a very good keeper.

3.) It also makes me think Darlow isn't moving as you wouldn't loan your third choice keeper if your first choice is leaving! Maybe I was too subtle first time!

4.) Heard a lot of people say this guy has more potential then Darlow.

Hearing that Sidwell going to Stoke has increased interest from Fulham in Lansbury

Willow

1.) Unfortunately everyone has a price, and heads can be turned, but really hope we can get him signed up to a new contract, vital for our PL push, to class player.

2.) Don't think Lansbury will go unless to established Premiership side in London.

3.) Sidwell already left Fulham a good while ago, though? So him joining Stoke now wouldn't suddenly make Fulham want a new midfielder.

{Ed034's Note - unless they had offered him a contract

Lewis Grabban now being approached by Norwich according to SSN - I thought he had already signed with Cardiff so it looks like he is still available.

Willow

1.) Hooper to us then?

2.) Deeney and Vydra will do :) or pay the tax bill #worrying

3.) 05 Jun 2014 08:54:01
Sorry for asking guys, but what's this about the tax bill?

4.) NEP reporting we have an outstanding tax bill of around £1.8m which is due end of July. I believe this to be a normal process but being jumped upon to try and create a fire by some people.

{Ed034's Note - its not normal for them to chase, but the club have stated it will be sorted shortly

5.) Lewis grabban has signed for Norwich this morning

{Ed034's Note - £3m plus add ons. Big money that

6.) Grabban is a done deal and it looks like Forest are on the verge of completing a deal for Peltier too.

The tax-bill is a non-story. It's quite normal for these bills to be paid late (in fact it's great business sense). I think someone in the media still has it in for Forest.

{Ed034's Note - grabban has signed for Norwich and it is not normal for a club to be threatened with court to pay a tax bill.
the club are in the process of sorting out a lot of things behind closed doors, which has meant this has happened and the club also know these things need to stop happening and that is one of the big reasons fawaz is bringing in a CEO

7.) Forest slow off the blocks again always the bridesmaid and never the bride. I suppose well get our twenty goal striker in january when no one else wants em. When are we going to shape up

{Ed034's Note - blimey

8.) Personally Don't think Grabben is worth £3m+, Peltier would be good signing. Ed I think HMRC issued over 20 Winding Up orders to Football teams last year so might be more common then thought, but agree that is why need CEO ASAP

{Ed034's Note - still not good enough from a club of our status

9.) When I said "Grabban is a done deal" I obviously meant to Norwich, I was replying to the post above mine.

Regarding the tax bill - It is a non-story. It will get paid and in terms of 'business sense', provided there is no prosecution, it will do more good than harm. I'd rather have £1.8m in the Forest bank accruing interest for an extra few months than sat in HMRC's coffers.

Forest aren't the only club in the country to under-go a court order. The bigger clubs seem to do it more than the smaller clubs, in fact.

The story doesn't worry me at all anyway. If anything, it really get's on my nerves that modern football seems to be more about business and finance that it does about the football itself.

{Ed034's Note - oh ok lol my mistake. Sounded like you were saying to us.
regarding the bill. how is the bad publicity doing us good? if it was the best thing to do and is doing us good, why is it not standard practice amongst all clubs to do this??
The story does not worry me one bit, but to say it's more good than harm is a crazy statement

10.) I don't think it's crazy. It's hardly front-page news. I don't think many people, other those associated with Forest, are aware of the court order. We might get some ribbing from Direby and Festa fans but it oesn't bother me. It happens a lot in football, to my knowledge anyway.

If 'bad publicity' was detrimental to a football club then the likes of Man City, Newcastle and Leeds in years gone by, would've sent them down the tubes, but there still here. And still succesful! (not counting the latter obviously).

And iff bad publicity was detrimental to a footballer Joey Barton would be on the dole! :)

{Ed034's Note - bad publicity is just that, bad. It's hardly good that we are having the inland revenue are chasing us for money. It won't put the club at risk but who says that a player decides to go to someone else, rather than us, due to this bad press?? I'm not saying that'll happen, but it's a possibility.
It's crazy that this can be turned into a positive story.

11.) Whilst I'm sure the tax bill will be paid, what I find crazy and I'm sure as a businessman yourself Ed, you'll agree, is that fans think it's no big deal the bill hasn't been paid yet, the money is better off in Forests bank etc.
As a business, which is what Forest is, you make sure you pay HM Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise first.
I'm sure it won't come to this but they have more power than any other organisation, they can enter your premises, by force if necessary, without a warrant and seize your assets. Unfortunately Miller is already gone.

{Ed034's Note - it's bad publicity and when you are trying to sell the club to investers, sponsors or players it is not a good example.
As a businessman I want my company accounts and profiles on both businesses to read good, for many reasons. Paying late is not going to help do that.
I said on a previous post, if this was benefiting us doing it this way, then every club would do it.

12.) I'm not turning this into a positive story, I'm saying it's a non-story. In 12-months time no one will care that this happened.

Perhaps I am crazy. Or maybe you're melodramatic xx

{Ed034's Note - you said it will do us more good than harm. I go back to saying it isn't going to do any serious harm but of this was going to do us good, then all clubs would do this.
If you are a regular to this site you will know I am very relaxed and do not go over the top on any story, as I am not on this.
This is poor from the club, but these things can happen and it is not a problem

13.) I'm getting lost here- has grabban sign for the revenue?

14.) Of course he hasn't signed for the revenue, he signed for Norwich, the main part of this thread is the unpaid tax bill, which I feel is poor on one hand but on the other just confirms further the need for a CEO which we know the club are working hard on, at this precise moment things like the unpaid bill is a concern because it's slack, I would be more concerned if there was no mention of more support within the hierarchy. Let's all calm down, accept mistakes and trust the club are going to do all they can to ensure these embarrassing episodes are reduced in the future.

15.) Lol. Talk about missing the joke :-)

16.) Must have been a good joke to miss it! Wilson close to signing.

17.) Wilson close to signin? Have I missed somethin ed?

{Ed034's Note - if you have, then I have missed it too

SP trying to sort out deal for Peltier but Blackburn also showing interest in taking him. As he messed us around at the start with all his comings and goings I personally would give him a take it or leave it deal and not try to hard despite playing well for us.

Willow

1.) Messed us around? We were trying to get him in for 3 weeks and the only reason it was prolonged was because of the leeds takeover chaos. Came in and did well good utility player. I don't think he'd be a bad signing.

2.) Gives us cover at fullback, centre half and midfield. Get him in

3.) How did he mess us around? It was the complete opposite

4.) We should sign him quick. He gave 100% in spite, of us messing him around with that person warnock

5.) He's very average. His versatility is his only real plus point. Don't mind signing him, provided we're not paying him too much and he's used mainly as cover.

{Ed034's Note - he adds steel and determination. For me he'd be a very good signing. I was very impressed during his loan period

6.) Played well in a poor side so how would he o when we have our best player around? but would he be happy sat on the bench because I can't see him being in our starting 11

7.) Would be great cover as I think we will go with a much smaller squad, every team needs a couple like peltier and Halford

8.) Would the OP like to coma back on explain exactly how he messed us around?

I've never heard such nonsense?

9.) Peltier would be a good signing, a good squad player at this level, especially if on a free or a minimal price.

10.) He got man of the match twice in a handful of games and was pretty solid from what I saw of him. I see no reason why he wouldn't be pushing for a start and would be a good signing

Derbyshire has been signed by Rotherham

Willow

1.) If so good luck to him he will do the job and get the goals

2.) Good luck to him. Wonder how much he is getting a week now. Bet it's a lot less than what he was on at Forest. Another wonderful McClaren signing.

3.) Good luck to him, just hope he don't come back to haunt us this season

4.) 2 years. Good luck to him. Just hope he has a 'mare when he faces us.

5.) Good signing for Rotherham. IMO he had more than done enough to warrant a 1 year extension Atleast. Good luck Matt he'll always be welcome back at the cg.

6.) 30 May 2014 18:27:51
just watch him next season. watch his goals I'm telling you!

7.) He'll bang a few in next season and will definitely put one past us. Doesn't that always happen?

8.) 30 May 2014 19:55:00
Derbyshire will get game's which will equal goal's good luck to him

9.) Rotherham are the next Bournemouth!
Go Matty Go
See you in New York next season.

10.) When finally given a run 5 in 5 was it? Yeah let him go we like 2 in 20 strikers don't we lol! Good luck to him

{Ed034's Note - we are bringing in new strikers and has done nothing in the previous two years.

11.) I do wish him all the best at his new club but it's really not a big deal that we let him go. New strikers will arrive and Rotherham is probably about his level to be fair. Up until the last half dozen games not 1 fan would have missed Derbyshire. We can and will do a lot better

12.) I agree Ed. He has done nothing. He had 3 years and why do fans forget how much he was slated! Look forward to young hungry strikers with lots to prove!

13.) If SP doesn't deem him good enough that's good enough for me. I take it better must be on the way.

14.) He will be a big fish in a small pond there which he was never going to be with us. Had his chance but good luck to the bloke

15.) Fought his way back up. Good luck

16.) Suddenly banging them in when his contract was running out is kinda suspicious.

We need players we want to perform all the time, not just when they need a new deal.

{Ed003's Note - So you are calling his integrity into suspicion along with insulting him at the same time ? grow up ! }

17.) He will score a lot of goals like Wickham did at Wednesday. Defo deserved an extra
year

18.) Im sure he suffered a bad bout of shingles which can take months/years to get over fully, he also came back from abroad but we expect him to settle straight back in and score a hat full? think its a bit unfair to slate him, when he was fit for pre season he scored, when he played this season he scored, what more can the bloke do? i'm sure we are looking to sign a better replacement but good luck to him!

19.) Best of luck to the lad. Maybe with more confidence from the manager he could have had the chance to be our '20 goals' man, we'll never know. Just to point out Simonnffc, at this moment Rotherham are the same level as us.

{Ed034's Note - only in league table obviously :-)

20.) Agree Ed, but I think that league status dictates what level a club is at, not the size of their ground nor attendances. Which was the point I was making regarding Rotherham.

{Ed034's Note - I understood the point.

21.) Would have liked to have him another year at the CG, he knew the club and seemed to have found his feet, saying that i'm not overly upset and excited about whos to come in striker wise. Good luck Matt! Banging goal against Leeds, the best I've seen at the CG for a long while.

22.) Imo I think he will be like mcgoldrick hell leave and score loads of goals

23.) Can you register please - ed I put it up for you as I guess the letters have worn out on your pc :-)

{Ed034's Note - lol to be honest, I had missed it

Anyone seen Tesche make a forward pass yet?

Willow

1.) Yeah several he is a cracking player very composed in the ball! Made 1 mistake really last night but other than that he was solid as! Very impressed personally! But I'm guessing your not! Suppose everyone's entitled to an opinion

2.) 18 Sep 2014 09:33:12
Unfortunately with Cohen, Reid and Hobbs not playing then Forest lack a leader on the pitch. Mancienne is a good player but not a leader. Also as an aside I would never have signed Fox and he should not be allowed to where a Forest shirt again.

3.) Tesche was excellent last night and got a massive ovation when he was subbed on 90 mins, I'm not sure what player you were watching but it wasn't tesche.

You are indeed entitled to you opinion but I don't think you'll find many people that have watched him will find anything negative to say about him.

4.) Fox has played well this season but last night he was rubbish. Could do with Hobbs back but even he looked a bit shakey on Saturday . Worst I've ever seen him. Dodgey back passes or just wallop up the pitch. Don't think the injury helped.

The clip of SP walking out the tunnel against Blackpool has already had nearly 200,000 views. Makes me proud and emotional all over again.

Willow

1.) Cant agree more was unfortunate I cudnt get any tickets but fortunate to support a team managed by my absolute hero. Have watched the clip so many times and it still makes my hair stand on end. We are in for such a fantastic season. Here's hoping that mr Pearce can be as fawaz once quoted " like ferguson is to man utd" but this time what got our man.

2.) I've watched it about 4 times lol and I've never heard anything like it, what a roar. sounded like the ground was erupting

3.) I've watched it several times, it truly is amazing! I'm overseas so I just listened live on the forest player, Colin Fray I think it was said SP shook the hand of every player in the tunnel before coming out and was an amazing sight. Love to see that if it's online. On another note, I've such a. over SP back and the support Fawaz has given all of us, after 3 years the last time back in England I'm coming over the Christmas and NY period just to catch the seasonal games and intro my 11 year old daughter to the mighty Reds! She may not get it being half English, but she's already excited to go to the CG after telling her today :) Recommendation on family friendly areas most welcome. My most vivid memories at the CG was when we got cheated out of European foot vs Anderlecht when I was a kid standing in the Trent End at the fence, scary crush and spilled onto the pitch lol

4.) There is a family area in the main stand. If you want to spend some money the 1865 club is great for families as there is food and a nice lounge to relax in.

5.) Shanghai Red.
May I recommend the lower trent end.
My daughter is 11 and she loves it, the littleuns get close up to the players at warm up with most stopping for photos.
HL, pato & Darlow seem to be a hit with most 11 year old girls. Stewards are kiddy friendly as well unlike theain stand or cloughie. (Miserable wotsits)

6.) Thanks for the advice all!

Complete guess work but could the Villa CEO who has just resigned be coming trentside?

Willow

Just listened to the Matty Fryatt interview on the player - Intersting observation I get is that Steve Wigley did the face to face with Fryatt and he only spoke to SP on the phone.

Willow

1.) I thought that too, but he's worked with Wigley before at Hull so it kinda made sense for Wigley to take the lead on convincing him to come to NFFC

2.) 04 Jul 2014 12:54:38
Guess it doesn't matter he only spoke to SP on the phone given he signed, so it's not telling of anything.

3.) It shows a good management team to me - SP has confidence in his other team members and they are all willing and able to do whatevers asked of them.

I've seen him on player training - think he's been involved since the beginning

I was wondering that the other day! My research on line said that it is reviewed every two to three years, the main difference being operating budget needs to be £2.5m and an increase ratio of coaches to players moving from 1:10 to 1:8. I would expect our status to change back end of next year at the earliest.

NEP just said that SP has said he is not a target.

Hasn't he had a history of injury both at Forest and at Arsenal? If that is true I think £4m for someone who is only going to play halftone season is good business.

SP is too honest, straightforward and open in his approach which caused friction in the FA, especially during the tournaments and the Olympics when he criticised players pulling out - look at Gareth Southgate, he does cause offence and doesn't give an opinion! SP should of got MOTM but it's a legacy of his time in the FA after not renewing his contract - politics drove the decision, imagine what it would of looked like if THE FA would of given it to him straight after being kicked by them.

They will develop the main stand if we get promoted - fatwas has already made comments about it. The future stand though will probably focus more on corporate hospitality seats with the higher revenue potentials as we will never get more than 35,000 seats.
