6 games in, 5 points won. System doesn't suit us with the players we have (but neither will change).

In some respects you run out of things to say about our club, as in many respects we are just on repeat. Sack a manger, recruit late in window, other changes around club.

Glasner was always going to take time - same happened at Palace. So one needs to be patient. As we know, Mr M wont be. But let's see where we are after 10 matches. 5 managers in 12 months is insane. they are well paid, but of course players are affected by this.

In some ways, it is irrelevant. M will probably never give the managers time and will always change anything if he wants to. As is his right. The club appears to have little strategy and little actual route to stability.

We need to - obviously - be doing what the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and others have done - high value sales backed up by stats-led scouting and transfers (players and managers). That doesnt guarantee you success (Southampton have failed on same approach) but in this money orientated and big club skewed league, it is the only way.

Leeds are joining the ‘established Prem team' standings as they have recruited very well (and early). Perhaps Coventry, Hull or Ipswich will be next. They have started well and each done some interesting business.

We have had 3 relegation scraps in 4 years + will have another one this year. Our approach is not conducive to prolonged success. How can it be? We can discuss how we got promoted (Cooper + M + 4/5 amazing loan players) but since we got promoted we have had what looks like a tombola approach to almost everything. We even hired a new CEO this summer after the window shut.

As I have said before, post Anderson we have recruited poorly in my view, yet we knew he was leaving ages ago. He was so good, that he was very hard to replace and you lose 2 players in 1, but to end the transfer window in net positive territory for £ tells you something. Moreover, every other team has invested and improved. we have not. We are so so dependant on MGW for survival and even Sels, it is unreal. Don't get me started on Delap but we must give him some time.

Anyhow, none of this offers a solution. The only solution would come with more structure, mor method to the approach. Which wont happen whilst we have our ownership.

As for how Mr M behaves at times, dont even get me started and maybe it's a blessing he is at the CG less than he was (I think).

You can't take this approach forever - look at Watford now - eventually your luck runs out. Enjoy the ride.

Can't disagree with you on that Agen, if the players can't play the new system they should have gone in the last window and definitely in January and bring in players who can play this system. But can't for the life of me understand why he got rid of VP when the players were playing for him.

Good points.

I think with Glasner. Mr M has made his bed. Now he is going to havw to lie in it. His track record shows he comes good in time. So it would be stupid not to show some patience.

The big worry for me atm is our home form which goes back the whole calendar year. We look a lot better away. Last year our away form kept us up.

If Mr Marinnakis is avoiding/ losing interest with Nottingham Forest, it will definitely affect future finance, as for sacking Glasner in January if we don't improve, who will take the job, who's any good? What ever decision is made stick or twist, it looks like another regulation battle unfortunately.

Sack him, write off 7.5M and get Pereira back, while he's available.

Interesting what you say about Watford. Two brothers friends of mine were avid Watford fans for years, even met Elton John, They have seen an unbelievable decline and blame the owners and no one else.
Their change of managers was legend but I think Forest have even exceeded this, Watford let some good players leave and rep0laced them with loan players from the other club same ownership.

It did'nt work. This idea of owning several clubs and swapping players does'nt seem to work.

Very good point cyclist, you can't buy any decent player for that amount and we would save a fortune in the January window. But Glasner is a good manager, so I fear that were stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I've always considered Watford as a basket case of a club, their recent history is littered with mistakes, sackings and poor recruitment. Some of the players that have been through the club recently are world class, Sarr, Suarez and Hernandez come to mind. When they were knocking around the Premier League, Sarr was being touted as a British transfer record. Eventually joining Marseille for an undisclosed minimal fee. Crazy business.
But as some above are saying there are definitely similarities between them and us now. Watford screamed out for some remnace of stability, sounds familiar now.
Question is do we stick or twist with Glasner?, clearly the players we have signed over the previous three or four seasons aren't suited to his system.

Do we back him again in January and continue the refit or bite the bullet and get someone more suitable for the players available?. I've always considered the best coaches as the adaptable ones, for instance, VP and Nuno were both happy to switch it up, three or four at the back. Glasner has no history of flexibility. Its going to cost the club hundreds of millions to completely refit the squad in his image, many of our favourite players will be considered obsolete. Especially if we want to challenge for Europe year in and out.
So all in all Mr M has a huge dilemma, he sacked a perfectly good coach in VP and brought in his big name, now he has to either fork out hundreds of millions or admit his mistake. ?.

Brining Munoz in doesn't seem to be a good fit yet.
A genuine wing back but as yet not working in our team, can't keep spending millions on Glasner type players, who knows how long he's got, especially when they are towards their thirties.
CARLO.

I've been telling you all for months, we will win nothing or become top 6 with Marinakas in charge, hes a total nut job who ain't gotta clue. The sooner he sells up the better. He's been building a new ground for 9yrs, they ain't even knocked a nail in yet. The whole place is a joke.

Forest are in a great place. Just need the old coach back. We were out of the Prem for years until we got the Greek God in charge. if you want to see a shambles, look at Leicester and Derby.
