Just had an email from my son, who read somewhere that Leon Best has walked out of the club (or been dismissed? ) Anyone know if this is true? Shame if so, as he'd started to find us some decent signings. Also a shame if he's gone because of the way things are run at Forest (I'm just guessing there! )

It's Leon Hunter.

Sorry! I get very annoyed when other people get the names wrong! Lines and detention for me.

Maybe it's just because we're a club in semi permanent turmoil that this site is so vibrant and busy. posts arriving all the time.

Yesterday morning, Tuesday 2nd, I visited the Leicester Rumours site and posted a congrats notice. I'd thought it would be absolutely rushed of its feet with posts as they've pulled off the miracle. Well over 24 hours have elapsed and mine's still the last post on there. no further posts, replies, nothing. Maybe they're all still having a party or nursing hangovers.

Maybe we should look forward to a time when our site is very under used as then, perhaps, most fans would be happy with our lot and have nothing to say.

Hear Hear Suffolk!

The Claudio parody twitter account has been great at getting the fans on board.

Unity in adversity throughout the club and fans!

Fawaz please take note instead of praising your mates on winning the Kuwaiti League with your club that has no competition.

Have we got more injuries I didn't know about or are all the changes because of games coming up and keeping players fresh? Thought Dougie was taking this one seriously, surely we have a stronger 11 available. There'll be plenty moaning if this doesn't work, but good luck to all, let's hope we take the game to them from the off!

Doesn't look like any form of attacking side to me, more of a 0-0 or 1-0 win side. Hope I'm wrong.

Hopeful for a win today, should be possible at least. It could be our first run of three consecutive home league wins since February (I can't even begin to remember when we last won 4 home league games on the bounce! ) Still we're unbeaten at home for the last four matches - maybe, just maybe, we're starting to develop that 'hard to beat at home' mentality. Fingers crossed for a solid performance and a positive result (a goal or two from Nelson would be a real plus and a confidence booster) .

Maybe just maybe not.

That said if we get a good result today my mind will open up the prospect of us improving.

I fancy we will take the usual step back this afternoon- let's hope not.

Just steeled myself to watch the highlights. oh dear. Did we really only manage one shot on target, from a long range free kick, in the entire game? As far a I could see, Wednesday won't need to wash the keeper's kit for the next game! That's the crux of the problem for me. At the moment we are very unlikely to keep a clean sheet in a game (Preston must be scenting blood for Tuesday) and it's touch and go if we manage to score 1 (2 would be a miracle), so we're unlikely to win on Tuesday, I fear. There were plenty posting on here that losing Antonio wouldn't be a bad thing on the grounds that a) we need the cash, b) we were very one dimensional, relying on him too much and c) without him we'd somehow become a more balanced team. Unfortunately it hasn't panned out like that. The facts can't be avoided. In the opening month of the season, before going off to warm West Ham's bench, Antonio scored 4 goals and assisted in others. Now he's gone, our top goal scorer is Matt Mills with TWO goals. That's right, apart from this defender no one in our squad has scored more than one goal. Around the Derby game we'll be a third of the way through the season. At this rate we'll have a season where no one's score tally reaches double figures! A lot of people a pinning hopes on Britt's return. I'm not. It'll be a long time before he's match sharp - can we really see him back to anything like his best until next season? Even then if he's feeding on scraps it'll be hard. I don't know what the answer is, I'm no football manager or coach, just a fan. The current form table (last 6 results) shows us at 22nd (relegation zone) ahead of Leeds and Charlton. Very annoying to see Derby in 1st place on that table! I'm not jumping on the sack the manager/get new owners bandwaggon. I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy the club just now and who on Earth would be willing to take over management here if/when DF goes, knowing that by Easter, if we're still in danger, there'd likely be another change? Would love us to start getting it right, stop leaking soft goals and start scoring a few. looking at our squad on paper, it looks strong to me. Let's hope (but I'm not banking on it) that we head into the Derby game on a win. We should be doing better than this, surely.

In the opening month of the season when Antonio scored 4 goals and assisted in a couple of others, how many games did we win playing that one dimensional hoofball?

2.) 02 Nov 2015 21:03:56
One win, three draws, nor great, but better an we're doing now!

3.) 03 Nov 2015 18:38:40
So basically we won more games in the month AFTER Antonio left? Funny that eh.

Trying so hard to remain optimistic about the season, but it's getting harder week by week. Had a few moments to spare and had a look at the 'current form' table, which covers the last 6 games. We're 20th! If we don't win on Saturday, we'll be in the bottom 3 of that table.

Only plus point? Ipswich are right down there with us at 19th. I look at the team sheet before each game and see a strong Championship team listed. We're better than this, surely. Hoping we score first on Saturday and actually hold on t a lead for once.

SuffolkRed

1.) 23 Oct 2015 16:57:48
I reckon if we do score first and manage to hold on to the lead we will win!

Completely agree Might Red. I hope no one in the club actually reads these pages. If I were a Forest player and was reading everyday how terrible I was and how I wanted to leave, I might well decide to go where I get a bit more appreciation. As I've said elsewhere. Selling ANYONE just now is pretty daft. We can't use the money to buy anyone better or even as good, and as far as clearing up the FFP problems, these amounts are a drop in the ocean. Believe it when you read it as signed, sealed and delivered on the OS. Intersting to note that the Hamer deal is not entirely 'off'. DF sayiing yesterday (internview on OS)that they're still working on solving the technical issue.

Lansbury, Antonio, Pato etc are going nowhere. It makes no sense at all as we can't use the money to buy in anyone better (or even as good). Let's get this window closed and out of they way so we can all stop speculating and know what we've got to work with!

Is this actually true, guys?? I can't find the transfer mentioned on our site or Orient's either. Was it on the Bird thingy? Just a rumour or for real? Pretty sure he has a few goals left in him for someone, but he wasn't likely to figure much for us this year.

Britt's definitely getting a mention! PM said yesterday in the press conference that he 'needs a few more days', but I know exactly what you're saying. We've heard that before, haven't we? It feels like he's been a 'few days away' for a couple of weeks. Really hope for everyone's sake that he makes a full recovery and can string together a lot of games for us. In the meantime let's hope the current strikeforce get a hatful of chances tonight and stick a few of them away. We've had some tricky moments with Arsenal over the years!

Haven't been on for a while, sorry! Anyone else checked out the Youtube footage of our new goalie Vlad (the Impaler) in penalty action? That's TAKING the penalty, not facing it. yup, he scored very easily. Bearing in mind how many pens we miss, it might just be an option. (Imagine the penalty shootout in the next round against Arsenal! )

Do you really think so? At the moment I can't see this club as a desirable asset for anyone. Personally, I'd be amazed, should Fawaz decide to call it a day, (or sell off a portion) if anyone at all got their cheque book out.

Yup, our ONLY genuine goal threat! If/when he does get a few minutes on the pitch in the Premier League he'll be miles of match sharpness and no doublt will fail to impress. But this happens all the time. We did the same with Pato and Lars. took them from 'smaller' clubs and never really gave either an extended run to impress. When they did get some time they didn't do enough to keep them in the team (confidence gone? ) Not sure how Pato is getting on with his new club, but I gather Lars started scoring again when he got back to Holland. I really wish we had some players who regularly turn chances into goals. Current form table (last 6 matches) has us in 19th place. I fear by Christmas we could be in the relegation scrap if we don't start converting chances.

And probably score a hatful and make many more. He's a proven goal threat in this division!
