NEP Saying were going to have to Sell Ben Brereton to fall into FFP rules, what are we thinking about this?

Would be good to see the numbers to back that up from them, anyone have any idea?

Would be a huge loss to the club if he was sold. Would rather see other players sold if we have to balance the books.

i agree i'd like to see facts on numbers before we start to panic, hopefully this is just nonsense!

id also like to see others sold to balance books. hopefully the new owners and MW know what they're doing.

its been a good couple of weeks for the club and i just hope this continues!

Thing is its fast cash selling ben. selling the others may take time and won't bring in as much.

If it happened under any of the previous managers I'd write our chances of before the season started with the sale of Brereton.

Thing is we now have a manager with a proven track record of putting teams together on a minimal budget, playing decent football and getting results.

Breretons sale will likely cause the usual outrage, but assuming we get top price, i'd still have faith in Warburton making us competitive and knocking on the door.

Until we reach the top table, we're a selling club like everyone else.

As the Burke money was never spent surely that's enough to balance the books for last season.

Gave my opinion on the Banter Site lads.

Red James that money went back into the club to keep it afloat without costing fawaz a penny last season.

It only says we may have to sell him not saying we definitely will. It's a gamble to sell or keep him and a decision that the new owners are going to have to make with the clubs best interests in mind. At least we know if he is sold the money will be used in the correct way and will benefit us moving forwards.

At the end of the day if we have to sell him for 15m then that's what we have to do. Unfortunately we can't rely on parachute payments like some other clubs. We have to trust that hard decisions are going to have to be made for the right reasons. At least now we know we have a board making these decisions, not a one man band.

Gazza, so when it was one man we distrusted that mans reasoning that the sale was necesssry to keep the club afloat but now because it's a board the same statement is believable? Is that what you mean or am I reading it wrong? Surely generating an income from selling the players is the same no matter who's in charge of the club?

2far - I think the general thinking is that at least now there is a discussion about the pros and cons of selling a player for a certain figure-surely that should give us a bit of a positive spin on any possible deals? I'm more confident that a sale of a player is for the good of the club rather tgan just to either keep us ticking over or to line someone's pockets.

We sold Darlow and lascelles to fund Antonio and assombalonga.
We sold Burke to operate the club for another season. I might struggling to see how it is more or less acceptabel in either case. This regime will cloak it in positive propaganda (which is a goodbye thing) but the reasons for selling on our youngsters are the same whoever does it. If we sell Brereton can you honestly say that if Fawaz did the same he would have been accused Of lining his pockets let somehow it will be accepted as for the good of the club. For the record i believe we have no choice but to fund the club with sales, I believe the need to do this will reduce once the new owners get the club on a better financial footing over the next few years.

As long as Warburton assembles a team that plays his preferred passing style of play and we stay within the rules then if we lose Brereton then we lose him. The club has to improve significantly on last season and I would be happy with a top half finish next season with a promotion push the season after and enjoy going to games again.

2star - all I'm saying is that in my opinion, we can trust that decisions are being made with the best interests of the club in mind, not to refill fawaz's pockets as much as possible before an inevitable sale.

Gazza when did fawaz fill his pockets?

Given the disgusting antics of Liverpool and their scouse media mafia at unsettling players the quoting price for any Forest player is £50m which they have not got!

08 Jun 2017 19:10:36
The amount of times last season when we lost by the odd goal and several cases lost 1.0. We need to score more goals and add to the forwards we have got. Its all very well but we will not be replacing with the equivalent quality so how on earth are we going to reach the prem. Already had my rant on the banter site.

Sell ben and get him back on loan, we still get to use him and we have £10 mill in the bank to keep our heads above water and maybe use a little to strengthen the squad. or we could keep him and not be able to strengthen the squad that nearly got us relegated. tough decision really.

Understand Gazza, I just have a different veiw which is that he didn't really do that. I believe he sold players to fund new signings and the running of the club. I honestly don't feel that he filled his pockets, I also recognise how he got himself in a position that every decision made was veiwed with cynicism and suspicion. It's how it was executed rather than what was executed.

Fawaz didn't take any money out of the club whatsoever. Not a penny. He just didn't want to allow anyone else to control his toy so never appointed the right people to run the club.
