Reports in Portugal that we are looking to wrap up a deal for the Benfica keeper. Makes no sense to me. We have Pantillimon and Smith. On top of that, he's rated around 12mil.

1.) 12 Jul 2018 06:47:54
It would allow Smith to go on loan. £12 million could be payed over 4/5 years. Hopefully will anyway.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 12:20:51
Gazzared when I read that we were interested in Benfica goalkeeper at 13 million I thought 'has the world gone mad'
For goodness sake we've only just signed Pantillimon.

I agree with you , we have 5 goalkeepers now.
I therefore conclude that its just a load of media rubbish again as any player that appears available AK wants to sign them.

AK must laugh his socks off when he reads the'Forest must sign these players'columns.
However I tend to be more serious about what does not appear to have been picked up on.

Whats happened to the Peterborough pair have they disappeared off the face of the earth ?

3.) 12 Jul 2018 13:00:58
No they haven't humourist. Posh have over priced and over hyped them.

4.) 12 Jul 2018 14:39:37
We've got pants for keeper smith as back up.
Why spend possibly 13m on another keeper. Spend it on another midfielder left back right back.

5.) 12 Jul 2018 19:22:51
The chosen one will decide who he wants,😁😁

6.) 12 Jul 2018 19:29:46
Have to agree Red Always. don't see the logic!!! Another striker would be great. also never heard of the he geezer!!! 🤔🤔🤔

7.) 12 Jul 2018 19:51:38
Bet if his name was "Vileada" you'd have him rogie?
Guaranteed to mop up. 😀😀😀

8.) 12 Jul 2018 20:21:27
Ps rogie the geezer lives in the pub somewhere down "soufff"😂

24 Jun 2018 08:26:40
8m bid for Bamford rejected by Middlesbrough. Really hope we don't offer more, massively over valued.

1.) 24 Jun 2018 08:46:18
He’s not worth £8 never 8Million. .we need to be going forwards not taking a step to sign an average striker.
Please krankie don’t do it!

2.) 24 Jun 2018 08:55:28
I totally agree not worth 8 mill. the sheep have slapped a 11 million price tag on vydra for an extra 3 million we should bid for him u no your going to get a lot of goals.

3.) 24 Jun 2018 10:22:28
You say he's not worth 8 mil and I agree it's crazy money BUT he is in today's market.Hendrick 10 mil, Richie 12 mil and they are midfielders and was ages ago. 8 mil is peanuts nowadays

4.) 24 Jun 2018 11:24:07
Half of the Britt fee so yes in perspective not a massive amount now a days, I just think as a club and fans we have fell behind the times and we still see 8 mill as a new english transfer record

5.) 24 Jun 2018 12:06:15
We could get Grabban and Soudani for that really hope we don’t get Bamford for that much

6.) 24 Jun 2018 12:48:49
Rich I think you might be surprised how much they will want for Grabban.

7.) 24 Jun 2018 14:06:25
Perks villa can’t afford to put big price tags on players.boro want £10mill for bamford,I would sign him for £5mill to be honest.wud rather bid £10mill for britt

8.) 24 Jun 2018 14:08:36
Sutton,he's a Bournemouth player.😁

9.) 24 Jun 2018 17:33:47
Rich I agree Grabban and Soudani

10.) 25 Jun 2018 02:54:42
Surprised Boro didn't rip our hands off with that bid!

22 Jun 2018 11:24:44
Lichaj has gone for an undisclosed fee - likely to be around 400k. A bad move in my mind unless AK has a much better option waiting in the wings. All the best Eric, top professional.

1.) 22 Jun 2018 11:49:41
Agreed Gazza. He was dedicated and hard working.

2.) 22 Jun 2018 14:17:07
It makes a change from the Scottish players we were and planning to sign this time last year

3.) 22 Jun 2018 22:27:28
I liked Eric gave it everything and the arsenal game will live long in the memory, but as someone has already said on 1 of these boards he had a bad habit of standing too far off his winger and backing off far too much

17 Jun 2018 11:45:59
Just seen Merc with plate D7 INGS in town

1.) 17 Jun 2018 11:58:42
Is the 7 for the years he was not playing????????????

2.) 17 Jun 2018 12:19:36
Danny Ings isn’t on holiday at the moment. So doubt it was him.

3.) 17 Jun 2018 12:32:17
Just seen a Ferrari with M355I in town!!! 😱😱😱

4.) 17 Jun 2018 13:10:16
Is on holiday*

5.) 17 Jun 2018 13:40:26
Beats the Skoda I was just following ;)

6.) 17 Jun 2018 14:08:12
I’ve just seen one with FF7 9??😂😂

7.) 17 Jun 2018 14:14:35
Rogie, no better way to away the Messi he created than to go to the home of the black stuff for a crack.

8.) 17 Jun 2018 14:15:19
That's mine you should see the state of it inside

9.) 17 Jun 2018 14:19:09
You don't live in Nottingham anyway!.😏

10.) 17 Jun 2018 15:19:19
Thats his plate without the s. He lives near me in lancs

11.) 17 Jun 2018 15:51:37
Prob one one the dingles from emerdale.

12.) 17 Jun 2018 18:49:44
He's going back to burnley on loan for next season

10 Jun 2018 11:03:50
Newcastle are interested in Osborn. Offers in the region of 5m likely to be accepted. For me he's not worth that so would snap their hand off if an offer came in. It would make sense for him to go and join up with old academy team mates Lascelles and Darlow. Maybe we could look at a deal for Darlow to come the other way.

1.) 10 Jun 2018 12:22:29
Versatile left footer £5m? Too cheap in todays market. I would accept offers over £10m or a straight swap for Mitrovic.👍

2.) 10 Jun 2018 13:19:48
£5mil for osborn would be close to the full fee wed have to pay for marriott. i look at it and think would you swap osborn for marriott as the transfer fees and wages would be similar. surely there's no doubt youd rather have marriott out of the 2.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 13:35:24
A player like Benny would be difficult to replace for that money it seems our fans underestimate our home grown players to me

4.) 10 Jun 2018 13:38:05
Would not be happy if we sold Osborn for 5m can play anywhere in midfield and fill in at lb, still only 23 and been our most consistent best performer for the last 3 seasons. 10m+ at least for me or less with a player involved too such as darlow, Colback or Mitrovic

5.) 10 Jun 2018 14:36:07
A lot of players could play in various positions and do a decent job, it doesn't mean they're value doubles. Like I've said before, he's jack of all trades, master of none, we need a team of masters.

6.) 10 Jun 2018 15:15:07
Unless we had an offer we can't refuse, he's to good to release. The main factor being, his heart is with Forest. You can't buy that.

7.) 10 Jun 2018 15:36:05
Gaza don’t think anyone said his value should double, greatest team we ever had had a jack of all trades, his goal in cologne got us to our 1st ever European cup final, clough always said Ian bowyer was 1 of his most important squad members not because of his outstanding ability,he was less technically gifted than most in the team but because he had great attitude and fight ibelieve Ben is in a similar mold

8.) 10 Jun 2018 16:42:27
If we sell Osborn AK is not the manager we need. Too many on here are quick to criticise Benny but to me he is one of the best players we have got, and I'd be very loath to lose him.

9.) 10 Jun 2018 16:51:37
Osborn doesn't know how to play a forward pass, he can't take the ball past a man, he's physically weak. I could have a the best pass percentage at Forest if 99% of my passes were sideways or backwards. Massively over rated but shows how bad the team has been for him to be considered our player of the season. Good news is, AK sees this too, that's why he's looking to buy a new team.

10.) 10 Jun 2018 20:43:36
Gazza, I wouldn’t sell him on the cheap but you Are so right to highlight how bad the team has been if Ben has been our best player for 3 seasons. Solid performer with a good attitude no doubt.

Regarding us underestimating our ‘homegrown talent’ I only base my opinion on what I see at the home games and apart from cash no one has convinced me they are what many have said they are.

our league position is testament to the fact we tried to play four : five of smith, clough, Worrall, Cash, McKay, Cummings, Walker and Brereton in the same team. Never going to work. I don’t include Osborn now, he’s a senior player by right.

I acknowledge that some fellow reds are irritated by those who are willing to watch the youngsters toil and under achieve. To be honest I get irritated when it’s expected of us to watch players, who aren’t ready and who get out thought and outplayed. It’s not value for money I’m afraid and thankfully we won’t be expected to watch so many of them next season, I’m not knocking their efforts but we need to be winning more games

11.) 10 Jun 2018 20:54:25
Osborn might be a lot of things??
But physically weak ??
That's not one of em.he could play two games back to back.
Not sure what you've been watching??

12.) 10 Jun 2018 20:57:41
Get raffa and keep Osborn
Success guaranteed

13.) 10 Jun 2018 20:58:11
Imo Osborn at the right price. Sell. Puts in the graft but when midfield simply not enough goals or physical presence.Thats why Watson & co came in.As LB just too small as Cardiff showed.
Versatile, but since his Ipswich debut his progression has stalled.

14.) 10 Jun 2018 21:50:43
2star I actually agree with you I think Brereton will be a top player, but as you say he's not ready to do the job he’s being asked to do,same goes for worrall, cash had a couple of good games later in the season, bu has been in and out before that, as regards Cummings and McKay simply not good enough, I go home and most away and am too tired of watching boys trying to do men’s jobs, not their fault though, thought your post was in general spot on mate,

15.) 10 Jun 2018 22:31:54
Stevie , defo mate , we are on the same page. Too much to soon but defo something worthy of nurture

Forest played well, passed well, pressed well, created chances. Same old story, we haven't got anyone to put the ball in the net. Grabban for 6mil is a joke, he isn't up to it. Osborn once again showed his limitations. No strikers on the bench. Where are the goals going to come from?

1.) 15 Sep 2018 17:08:25
Harsh gazza we were the better side ,but neither created much,so fair result.
We looked better defensively, but offered little up front, not grabban fault, not much to feed off.
Good point, said I'd settle for that before kick off.
Went for a point and got it.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 17:13:15
We need to persist with this starting 11. Unless theirs injuries. Grabbon will come good.
Next 2 games at home.
Point away at Swansea most would be happy with that.

3.) 15 Sep 2018 17:14:47
When we got him I posted that his signing didn't excite me and got about 20 thumbs down lol.
He's a proven 20 goal a season championship striker they said.
How many times has he scored 20 in the championship? Proven means doing it regularly.
To be fair he didn't get much service today but did have a good chance and fluffed it.
He's a journeyman, past his best striker and for the most part is bone idle.
6m is an absolute joke.

4.) 15 Sep 2018 17:30:14
Harsh Fred as most will be .
It's more down to tactics that he and all the rest look bad.

5.) 15 Sep 2018 17:31:18
To be honest GR I listened and got bored to be honest. Same old same old I'm afraid can't remember the last time I listened and we tested the keeper several times. Every time we get a corner a cross in or a free kick I just know it's going to hit the first man or just be garbage. 8 games 9 points hardly setting the league on fire, next 2 home games need 2 wins but when was the last time we won 2 on the bounce. Yes I know it's a marathon and all that but it's a thumbs down from me because I know the owners are getting itchy trigger fingers and we'll have to start all over again. So he plays Cash and Osbourn and a pretty decent team then subs them for Dias and Carvalhio who could have shown why we brought them in and they fluffed it. Nothing I can see fills with me optimism apart from cashy and his enthuism, yes one or two playing well but the spine of the team is non existent. Krankie warbo mark 2, his pants must be filled to the brim no wins by next Saturday night and it's taxi time.

6.) 15 Sep 2018 17:33:26
Goals? Murphy in this squad! Cummings and Tyler Walker are both good finishers.

7.) 15 Sep 2018 17:33:50
Horaaay ! A voice of reason returns !

8.) 15 Sep 2018 18:06:07
Cloghie it was a good defrnsive team performance, wasn't for the purist, but pants could have sat in a wheelchair with his pants over his head, smoking a cigar and Swansea wouldn't have found a hole to aim at.😂😂
Best defensive performance since karanka was appointed

9.) 15 Sep 2018 18:13:23
I meant you by the way Fred!

10.) 15 Sep 2018 18:14:46
CIG, when did the owners phone you to tell you about their itchy fingers? Stats showed we had more of the game than a recently relegated PL side. Played well against WBA too. All of this drama is a bit too much. FTID.

11.) 15 Sep 2018 18:44:39
We played better than a average Swansea that struggle to score not good enough

12.) 15 Sep 2018 18:56:48
I think people are forgetting what we’ve spent skeg, in the context of that not good enough but in general I would have taken a point there mate.

13.) 15 Sep 2018 20:07:46
Cheers 2star😀.
I thought you did from the timing of the posts.

10 Sep 2018 12:28:51
Anyone seen the footage of Cummings smashing up his own flat. I don't care how many goals he scores, he can stay well clear of NFFC, absolute idiot.

1.) 10 Sep 2018 12:45:37
GazzaRed is it good for impressionable youngsters to see NO, is it stupid to do YES.

We all have done stupid things in our time and with time have grown up so look back not believing we did such things. We are just lucky that we did not have social media for all to see those things.

He is fortunate that any damage caused can be paid for from his wages with ease.

2.) 10 Sep 2018 12:52:14
As karanka asked him to come back as a lone striker😂

3.) 10 Sep 2018 14:10:50
They say he,s a smashing lad ⛏⛏⛏🛋🛋🛌🛌🚽🚽⚒⚒⏲📺📺🏊🏻

4.) 10 Sep 2018 14:32:49
I don't know with all the Cummings and goings on with this lad 😁

5.) 10 Sep 2018 15:39:00
Lol Skeggsy!!!
I once nicked a small steamroller, from the local building site at the time.
Parked it outside my mate's house!!!

6.) 10 Sep 2018 15:48:41
So you really are a rogue Rogie.

7.) 10 Sep 2018 16:43:28
Lol rogie so did you leave it at your mates house so he would get the blame for it 🙄😉😁

8.) 10 Sep 2018 17:12:23
Cummings can stay at Peterborough, no pace not good enough in the air and even warburton could see he wasn’t going to make in the championship, and to top it up even rangers didn’t think he was up to the micky mouse premier div,now he’s also confirmed he’s a total tosser as well,

9.) 10 Sep 2018 17:44:30
And he was watching Celebrity Big Brother. . 😁

10.) 10 Sep 2018 19:00:24
Yeah Skeggsy he did!!!
Luckily the building site wasn't too far away!!!
His dad had to plead with the builders not to go to the local Bobbies. he ended up buying them breakfast.😂😂😂

09 Sep 2018 15:54:46
All of these signings do not strike me as a club with a clear plan, more like absolute panic signings. AK was supported heavily with funds in the summer with the clear aim of getting us out of this league. Only 6 games in, results haven't been going as expected and Plan A, B and C have been ripped up and we're on plan D. Seems all too familiar don't you think. Sit tight and see where we are come January, however worse case scenario, we'll be fighting relegation and FFP.

1.) 09 Sep 2018 16:38:35
Ffp won’t be in touch for another 2 don’t you worry yourself with that.

2.) 09 Sep 2018 17:01:19
Gazza. plan D Is Defend Defend Defend.

3.) 09 Sep 2018 18:06:27
I agree it looks like a cluster f***. Until we’ve seen the players play let’s reserve judgement as perhaps AK might have realised some of his signings aren’t what he thought they were and finally, he’s realised others at the club need to go as well. This is my view so far:
Darikwa - not good enough, never was never will be.
Watson - looked ok last year but needs releasing as he’s not with it now.
Dias - send him back in Jan
Goncalves - send him back in Jan.
Carvalho - we need to persevere for at least this season
Soudani - won’t be consistent this season so will need rotating
Murphy - can’t play every game.

So taking the defence out the equation we have:
Bridcutt, Colaback, Osborn cash, Lolley, Guiedioura, Grabban.

I would welcome sako and a player who can do what guedioura can do as he won’t play every game. In essence I think he’s realised that Dias, Goncalves, Watson and maybe carvalho won’t fly and that Murphy, soudani and guedioura can’t play every week. With the dead wood already unloaded clough, ward etc we are short of players who can compete in this league.

Let’s be honest though if more players come in it is surely the last role of the dice for Aitor Karanka.

4.) 09 Sep 2018 19:21:08
Gazza your right however an other angle to all these signings could be that ak has been told to get rid of all our underachieving players over at least the last three seasons in which to be fair they havnt achieved squat so its root and branch rebuilding wheather or not he has bought the right ones only time will tell

5.) 09 Sep 2018 19:59:31
All these signings plus wages. He will be selling cash in January to balance books. Especially if he keeps performing like he is. Wait an see

6.) 09 Sep 2018 20:04:11
52 if we're getting rid of under achieving personal at forest think katanga should be right at the top of the list taxi

7.) 09 Sep 2018 20:24:56
Your right ill call uber!!😂😂

16 Aug 2018 20:58:18
As a club and as supporters, we're under this preconceived nonsense that our academy is one of the best and nurtures talent that can take the club forward. What world beaters are we basing this opinion on? Andy Reid? Michael Dawson? Bamford? Or maybe the current crop, Brereton. We need to get with the times, unfortunately success in football nowadays is bought with hard cash.

1.) 16 Aug 2018 21:30:57
No player is a world beater as soon as they vome out of the academy lol and we have produced some decent players so what are you on about.

2.) 16 Aug 2018 22:21:01
Yeah we got rubbish money for Burke didn't we, close it down.

so funny.

3.) 17 Aug 2018 02:08:53
Mighty reds tell that to Mbappe, Sessegnon, Shearer, Owen, how many of our youth have gone to dizzy heights since leaving, no don't get rid of it but we need to realise maybe the players aren't of the quality there hyped to be, look at bamford was going to be the next big thing good championship player and nothing more, darlow never cut it in the prem, not bad players but average championship ones all day long

4.) 17 Aug 2018 02:17:54
We produce good talent in our academy but to develop properly they need to go to clubs that have better players to be around.over the last 10 years we havnt had the best of players for these youngsters to look up to and develop.getting our club back on track off the field and bringing better ability players in will bring theses youngsters on.we won’t see the best for a few years but we will get there.

5.) 17 Aug 2018 07:10:50
Statetheobvious - and where is Burke now? Back in the Championship where he started struggling to get game time. Spot on Redjames, the talent coming out of our academy is mediocre at best, so when we get offered 6m for Brereton we need to understand that up to this point, he's offered very little to suggest he's not just another mediocre product of our academy that's destined to play no higher than the championship. So 6m is a very good offer. Blackburn fans hadn't even heard of him when the offer went in.

6.) 17 Aug 2018 07:54:15
You only buy your way to success with the right manager,we should know that with Platt.
We've spent heavily now,so it's all down to the manager,it's that simple.
Cash has soon forced his way back in the side and Osborn keeps out all comers, can't remember where they came from? Oh yes the academy.

7.) 17 Aug 2018 08:51:24
The academy is a great plus for us wether it's to keep good young players or sell them on it's good business for us if we were to reinvest the 6 million were on about getting for Brereton in a bloody good left back then it makes sense to sell if it's just going to be money going back in the bank then keep him

8.) 17 Aug 2018 11:28:58
Jenas Dawson Reid lascelles darlow burke bamford to name a few and going further back hodge des walker peter davenport John Robertson tony woodcock viv Anderson Ian Moore etc etc think our youth system and modern day academy has paid its way over the years.although I agree with the op to a certain extent, some seem to think it’s going to produce 5 or 6 gems a year which of course it isn’t

9.) 17 Aug 2018 11:46:58
Stevie I see your point but darlow Burke and bamford went to the big time and failed so in the last what 5 years? we have produced 1 prem player in what has been a struggling Newcastle side

10.) 17 Aug 2018 13:46:56
The thing is the academy is there to produce young players to benefit the club whether that’s by playing in the 1st team or being sold on to generate funds, what happens to them when they leave is surely irrelevant mate

11.) 17 Aug 2018 14:46:36
Not really when people say we should of hung on to those players what I mean is they never turned out to be quite what they were toted to be that's what I meant by what happened to them after they left but yes your right about funds ect

12.) 17 Aug 2018 14:58:03
If the Blackburn fans hadn,t heard about Bererton God knows how, many Forest fans had heard of our latest imports ,no centre back will relish playing against Berertons all action style and the lad who is 19 will improve with good coaching and the correct management ,let's hope it at the CG.

13.) 17 Aug 2018 16:29:43
No Carlo but keepers will love watching the ball sail wide 😂😂😂

15 Aug 2018 19:13:30
There were 2 key things that we had to get better at this season, conceding from set peices and putting the ball in the net more often. Have either got any better? The jury is out, early indications say not. The team still looks short of goals and it's still hard to see where they're going to come from. I'll get critisised for being negative I'm sure but if anyone can tell me who's going to score us 20+ goals this season please do so. Were still a britt assombologa short of a promotion winning team.

1.) 15 Aug 2018 19:42:45
GazzaRed from your assessment of the situation, in your view even though we have not sorted out conceding from set pieces that would not stop us going up if we had a 20 a season striker. Teams that go up have solid defences, the way you are talking we will leak goals for fun all season.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 19:46:21
Gazza nowt wrong with having an opinion when karanka took over I said he's not bothered about a 20 plus a season goalscorer he set his teams up to score a lot from midfield but ain't happening yet I'm sure it will I can see soudani being our top scorer if he plays every game but we will see I think there's still a lot of improvement on the pitch to be done

3.) 15 Aug 2018 20:13:01
I think that it's only a matter of time before things click into place in defence, midfield and attack. We will score far more goals than we concede and the goals will come from all areas of the field. In this I have no doubt whatsoever!

4.) 15 Aug 2018 20:39:44
How many have we conceded from set pieces this season?

5.) 15 Aug 2018 21:22:07
The positives last night were Byram and Robinson, in a couple of games time I think Karanka will have his first eleven, and once he has a settled team the goals will come and we shouldn’t concede so many with them pair in the side.

6.) 16 Aug 2018 08:43:55
For ever and ever you'll be the one!

He's a poor mans Antonio. Still, I wouldn't mind a sprinkling of Antonio magic to liven this team up.

It comes down to how badly the club need the money to balance the books. How do we know that Forests plan was always going to be offloading a youngster or two to balance the books after the summers spending. For me, 8m for Brereton presents good money. Whether he should be getting game time or not is another story but the fact is he isn't, AK sees him as 4th striker right now.

Cash in and get a striker that can actually score goals now. 20m for Brereton in 3 years time or 180m for getting promoted to the Prem come what may?

Redmarsh - he played at lb for much of last season and he hasn't adapted to the position through the summer, still the same frailties.

If he scores 25 goals this season, doesn't that mean he's worth 6m like Marriott?

It won't be long before he's shown the door and we're left with another group of under achieving, over paid players. What was the point in signing Dawson for example - "he's great to have in the dressing room" - I'm sure he is but at 18k a week!? AKs hunger for experience has gone too far. He seems helpless and is soon to have some 6 defensive midfielders on the books. What does that tell you about his mindset. Unfortunately he's been coached by mourinho, boring boring boring.

Our youngsters have gone out on loan to get regular first team football as they wouldn't get enough game time at Forest, surely that's just doing right by them. And the best of our youngsters is playing every game now.

His CV seems like a good match for us but something has to change, he has to adapt his tactics.

We'll play well for sure, on sky at home against a better club, we always pick our game up. The challenge is converting that motivation in to league games.
