Forest have offered a short term contract to 20 year old French striker, Idris Kadded. Quite a strange one, not sure what our intentions are signing such an unproven player.

1.) 08 Jan 2019 09:04:13
Our Sporting Director has come from the French league, so that has his stamp all over it. Hope it works out.

2.) 08 Jan 2019 13:11:46
It’s only a 6 month long deal so not much to worry about.

24 Dec 2018 06:41:15
There's no coincidence that the goals have dried up since bringing Osborn back in to the team. He's rubbish! Cash on the bench makes no sense.

1.) 24 Dec 2018 09:36:13
Rubbish seems a bit harsh Gazza.

21 Dec 2018 06:34:46
Interesting comments by Karanka on Lolley. "He needs to concentrate on this club" and "i wouldn't want to buy him" talking about his first half performance against derby. Great man management or talking about a player he knows is leaving in Jan?

1.) 22 Dec 2018 06:59:56
If he is we’ll get a ridiculous amount of money for him. I’d imagine £15m+. If that’s the case I’d imagine that would pay for a left back and a new winger with money to spare for a new gk should we need one. I don’t think Dias or Goncalves are going to stay past January now. There’s not been enough hype recently for me to think they’re staying.

2.) 22 Dec 2018 10:00:09
Just reminding him to get his contract extension signed then get his head down again to prove he is not a half season wonder. He is a marked man now and needs to prove he can step up to Premiership level.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench today just to reinforce the point!

Today is our annual home banker so hopefully we will cut loose with 3 or 4 goals today with Lolley popping in a couple off the bench?

3.) 22 Dec 2018 12:12:43
Be a bit daft to stick our best player on the bench

4.) 22 Dec 2018 14:01:51
Good job karanka doesn't listen to you red lolley laying looks like a great line up

5.) 22 Dec 2018 19:49:12
Red we can't buy a goal at home, never mind 3 or 4,correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the first time we've lost to QPR at ours?
Another record for the chosen one.
Karanka needs a totally different approach to home games, his pal has just been sacked for playing boring football at home,so he needs to learn a lesson fast.

6.) 23 Dec 2018 08:00:02
FF. Good points you have put across.
What I don't understand is why our performance away are better than at home?
When opposing teams come here Krankie always has the same tactics?
No doubt red will slate me for speaking ill of his beloved one Krankie but results I'm afraid don't lie.
So red when you're dining with krankie ask him why our beloved team play carp at home and what he up his sleeve to change things?Hopefully a pigeon doesn't fly out of it👆👆👆👆😂😂

10 Dec 2018 11:43:33
Fraser Forster would be a great addition in Jan?

1.) 10 Dec 2018 13:08:39
Would they sell,or would it be a loan.?

2.) 10 Dec 2018 13:59:44
Who cares, just get him in

30 Oct 2018 20:45:45
Very much looking like the 2nd string Forest team right now. Osborn is a poor LB. Priority in Jan has to be to get some competition for Robinson. Dawson is not, and has never been comfortable passing a ball out from the back. Fox and Figs are our strongest CBs to play AKs system. The game is calling out for Appiah.

1.) 30 Oct 2018 21:47:19
Players were extremely poor but krankie has to take the blame for this one. Too much confidence in mediocre players.
Steel 6
Janko 5
Dawson 2
Hefele 3
Osborn 3
Bridcutt 4
Watson 5
Cash 6
Goncalves 5
Dias 7
Soudani 4

Shocking performances.

2.) 31 Oct 2018 09:02:01
Gazza you thought Dawson was worse than hef ??

3.) 31 Oct 2018 09:16:19
Think that's kind to Janko, Steele and Watson.

Bit harsh on Osborn and Soudani who were played out of position.

But otherwise I'd agreed.

The root of the problem for me, is the lack of football for players who are not regular first team starters. As we don't seem to use the senior squad for U23 games, so they have no competitive football at all. and it shows!

Bridcutt, Soudani, Goncalves and Steele all looked really slow. Not over the ground but in the head, which you can expect when they are not playing for weeks.

I see Karanka is second favourite for the Huddersfield job now. Someone called it on here a few days ago, maybe something he already had his eyes on.

1.) 17 Jan 2019 11:13:53
I did say he could have engineered his own exit, this is football after all and not much loyalty from anyone anymore, except the fans.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 11:34:07
799, If he walked then that is all the engineering he needed.

Either he walked or the owner sacked him, which is it.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 11:49:12
He walked

4.) 17 Jan 2019 12:01:37
As before who cares ancient history 😆

5.) 17 Jan 2019 12:08:50
799, If he walked then he engineered nothing, how is saying i'm leaving, and going engineering anything.

I hope Martin gets a great reception on Saturday, and i will go for a draw.

6.) 17 Jan 2019 12:14:54
Doesn't meen he didn't negotiate a pay off of some description in all that, anyway if it happens puts a different spin on things and maybe the hero worship for an average manager will be put to bed

7.) 17 Jan 2019 12:16:36
Skegsjay, Some people have said you are a bit sensitive about Freedman, well that is even more ancient history. 🤣

8.) 17 Jan 2019 13:24:19
I love Dougie freedman as much as I loved krankie but not nearly as much as I would want them ever to come back so yes was sensitive lc but as you say and as I said to you ancient history onwards and upwards with a decent manager 😆

9.) 17 Jan 2019 13:25:59
Looked at a proper betting paper this morning racing post says karanka is a 20/1 outsider for the Huddersfield job

10.) 17 Jan 2019 14:00:50
Stevie they don't get much right on betting or we'd all be millionaires.

11.) 17 Jan 2019 22:43:57
Rarely do people walk out on something unless they have something better to go on to. In any walks of life. sales jobs, the Mrs etc

{Ed033's Note - Or unless they are in the ministry of silly walks

16 Jan 2019 11:38:45
Forest are 4th favourites to sign Yaya Toure behind Celtic and Chinese/MLS clubs. I can't understand why our odds would be the second shortest of any UK club?

1.) 16 Jan 2019 12:11:24
Possibly because he himself thinks it would be a slighlty easier ride in the relative leagues ( at the risk of upsetting our friends north of the border ) and in the case of America and China a substantial amount of money.
Undoubtably a fantastic player in his time but for me, approaching 36yrs of age, no thank you

2.) 16 Jan 2019 12:53:24
Can't see that happening at all the wages would be unaffordable, same goes for Celtic.

3.) 16 Jan 2019 13:21:20
Ff especially Celtic

10 Jan 2019 19:30:18
3rd choice, 34 year old Leicester keeper coming in on loan. If anyone was questioning if AK has money to spend, I think that answers that question.

1.) 10 Jan 2019 19:44:06
But gazza there is still better out there than him and Steele has never been given a chance, why try and sign another third rate goalkeeper full stop?

2.) 10 Jan 2019 20:20:08
I have seen we had put a bid in, but where have you seen that.?

3.) 10 Jan 2019 20:57:52
I find our goalkeeping situation very confusing.

4.) 10 Jan 2019 22:04:39
What's that Sgetty?
They'll all "Pants"??
Got to be the worst we've ever seen In our history for goalkeepers.
Now we are about to sign another bad ome.
It's like your six foot two and you'll do.
It's also like building a house without any foundations.
At the minute he's six foot eight and certainly ain't great and stuck to the floor like a crate,no wondér the fans berate.

5.) 10 Jan 2019 22:22:14
Your post was great mate considering its so late.

10 Jan 2019 16:07:27
So Marinakis is ready to pull the plug on Karanka. There are clearly tensions behind the scenes between Karanka and the Forest board, maybe over transfers, maybe over home form, we'll probably never know. But, with the team in 7th, we're well into the transfer window, and we have a real chance of pushing forward now in to the playoff spots, why would anyone who wants what's best for the club want another change of manager. Just when the club has credibility back, fans turning out in great numbers, there's a new found togetherness at the club and we're looking to bring all that to the ground again and jump back on the merry go round that for years we've been crying to get off of. Anyone calling for AK to be sacked need to re-evaluate whether they want what's best for the club or just enjoy the drama of the modern day forest merry go round.

1.) 10 Jan 2019 16:38:40
I completely agree with you, GazzaRed.

But then again, I haven't invested millions into the club expecting a return. Us fans, myself included, may be quite content with a steady improvement but an impatient owner waiting for a return after spunking £20m+ might expect something more, rightly or wrongly.

Marinakis knows what the finance books look like, maybe he's a bit panicky that if we don't go up very soon then he'll (and we'll) be in £££ trouble.

I don't agree with the managerial uncertainty nonsense, just trying to see it from all angles.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 16:38:47
Gazza no one is calling for him to be sacked,we are just talking about why that might be,don't think any of us expected to wake up to that sort of news this morning

3.) 10 Jan 2019 17:59:50
It's this simple as it is in any job in life you don't do your job as you've been told to do it (Your fired) it's that simple there's no conspiracy theories he was told top 6 he's 7th tough but that's buissnes he can't say he ain't been backed by the owner because he has I'm 100 percent behind what the owner does

4.) 10 Jan 2019 18:13:59
In a nutshell your right skeggs, what you can't do also is make it obvious to your workers that your not happy.

5.) 10 Jan 2019 18:32:33
My take on this is.
Owners don't want him as manager
But he's got most of the players support and fans.
So they would prefer him to resign.
He's probably had a meeting with owner and to push him into resigning he's said no money available.
Hoping karanka would say I'm off.
Which would be less upsetting fans and players
Then he would of brought new manager in and made funds available.
But karanka as kept calm and dignified bout it.
So either back him or sack him.
The transfer window clocks ticking down.

6.) 10 Jan 2019 18:55:49
I'd get a copyright on that one quick,could be a best seller😁😁😁

7.) 10 Jan 2019 18:56:58
Agreed red its still only january we are in 7 spot one spot off the playoffs yes it could have been better however can't see the point in getting rid of manager give him to the end no improvement then move him on getting a new manager in in my opoinion will achieve nothing 😕

8.) 11 Jan 2019 00:26:21
Why give a 2.5 year contract then? 12 month rolling no? Sack him now and all we have is a rich fawaz and a silent chairman.

06 Jan 2019 09:35:46
Aston Villa are trying to sign Christian Fuchs on loan for the the rest of the season. Surely Forest should be trying to get a peice of that, great LB and a great character in the dressing room. Would be a fuchin great deal.

1.) 06 Jan 2019 11:12:07
Thought villa were skint

2.) 06 Jan 2019 11:25:47
I think it's more they have to 'sell to buy' to avoid FFP.

3.) 06 Jan 2019 14:26:01
They could be saving on Abraham's wages if he goes to Wolves as rumoured.

Stevie - Karanka was set expectations when he joined - that was promotion in 2 and a half years. But the owners (just like previous owners) have got impatience far too soon, much to the detriment of the club. Sound familiar? Yes he's invested over 20m this season, but when 18m of that was on two players alone, you start to understand why we still do not have much depth in quality. Nowadays in the Championship, you can't throw a few mil at it and get instant success in return. In Greece you can, in Kuwait you can, but not in the Championship.

That's what these forgein owners struggle with. If marinakis had been an avid forest supporter as long as many of us, he would have been able to see that the progress the club had made since he's been in ownership had been quite rapid and that he was best to leave the formula alone and let the club keep growing with stability. Like I said in my earlier post, let's hope this is a bump in the road and not history repeating itself.

Jose Anigo hasn't been hired to oversee domestic transfers, that's for sure, unless Mr Marinakis is completely inept. It would appear that the board forced AK in to a corner and expected him to bow to their way of working, he honourable stuck to his morals and walked away, the problem is, it wouldn't appear the board expected him to make that decision so have been caught off guard scrambling for further representatives to do their dealings. Quite a turbulant time for forest but i'm hoping it's just a bump in the road and the board can redeem themselves very soon with a solid manager appointment, and some signing who come good.

What a farce! If the owners knew what was good for them and the club, they would get behind Karanka and put whatever differences they have behind them. We aren't going to find a better manager who knows the league as well to replace him, just some nobody from the continent! Another foreign owner expecting instant success?

He was very good for us before he was sold. We need back up for cash and Lolley. Dias isn't good enough and Osborn isn't a winger.

It would be a loan, not a sale. Coming back to forest could give him a new lease of life, I'd like to see him back.
