Other than the obvious that we need new players, what we also need is for players in the squad to be coached at scoring from free kicks.
We are so poor at taking advantage of free kick situations around the box and corners to be fair.
I can't remember us scoring from a free kick last season.
Surely the coaching staff can work on this and corners.
Not impossible to work on.

We need our players to be coached in not giving away free kicks round the penalty area (ours) and then coached on how to defend them when they do give them away, and corners too.

2.) 31 May 2018 06:32:19
No coach can make a player grow that's why we don't score from them or defend them no height at all in the team

3.) 31 May 2018 13:58:59
Worrall 6ft 4is
Figs 6ft 2ins
Dawson 6ft 2ins
Fox 6ft
Mancs 6ft
Not exactly shorties ??
Plus a 6 ft 8 ins giant in goal.

I wonder if Warburton was planning a similar night of the long knives for the window before he was sacked which may have led to player resentment and the poor performances?
Hey ho what's done is done
Onwards and upwards.

How do you explain Arsenal and Wolves

2.) 01 Feb 2018 11:32:34
Polska mate. he had all last summer to get at least 2 decent defenders in. not doing that and team selection was his downfall.

Whilst we are in a feel good zone and long may it continue, I hope the ground management have noticed the really poor logistics and organisation on match days.
Massive queues for collecting match tickets, same with the catering outlets in the stands.
The club is losing so much potential revenue. There have been improvements especially in the club shop where there are now more varied items to buy and I know Rome wasn't built over night so it will take time, especially with the limitations of the old stadium.
But if the crowds are on the up something needs to be done to maximise the potential revenue and match day experience.
I wonder regarding the catering if the club could set up its own food trailers in the Main stand car park and the Brian Clough stand car park to take the pressure off the in stadium catering pre match.
Why let independent burger trailers take the money?
Anyone else got ideas?
Hopefully some one at the club reads this forum.

Not much different at most grounds in the championship and some run out of ale even.
I prefer to eat before entering the ground.
From what I've seen of the burgers I'd rather starve, they look like those plastic toy ones and i value my health too much.

2.) 09 Jan 2018 10:49:04
The shortage of pies have been a concern for a number of weeks

3.) 09 Jan 2018 13:23:09
Who ate all the pies? Maranakis?😀

As I see it, we just need somebody that can run at the opposition and beat a man. We are easy to defend against because none has the skill or pace to get past a player and create space.
In my opinion we were the better footballing side for large periods of the game but didn't punish them when on top.
They got chances and put them away.
Fox ripped to bits, Brereton too slow decision making, not ready yet.
But we have a few youngsters in the team and they need time to gain experience and so will make mistakes.
Still better football to watch than last season.

Maybe it's me, however I really don't think we have a true leader out there on the pitch, did anyone see any of our players handing out rollicking's, encouraging others,or just being vocal??? A bit of anger, and passion wouldn't go amiss.

2.) 10 Sep 2017 17:31:37
After the Leeds game i said we tried to pass around them but if they did not have that option they just passed sideways and backwards. They need to get the confidence to take players on. It is harder to defend against someone running at you then passing it to a teammate then it is to having someone trying to passing it around you to a teammate while stood still.

3.) 10 Sep 2017 18:31:02
Polskared we have two,McKay and carayol.

4.) 10 Sep 2017 18:45:24
Most teams in this league have pace. baffles me why he overlooks Carayol

5.) 10 Sep 2017 19:11:44
Rogie think it's because McKay is superb on the left wing,it was noticeable yesterday how much trouble he caused Wednesday and what a superb pass from him to start our goal, when he move inside he looked like he belonged there too,but the minute he went right wing and Osborn went left to accommodate the subs he got lost,so to me the dilemma is do we play McKay left wing or centre mid?the only way carayol can get in is if that happens or we play him wide right and not sure that would suit him

6.) 10 Sep 2017 19:17:39
Criticism of Fox and Brereton particularly in the first half is harsh. Both teams set up with a player out wide right Brereton and Wallace. SW got the ball out wide to Wallace quickly as Forest started with 3 at the back and overloaded Fox until Warbo switched formation. Brereton spent most of the first half out wide in acres of space like Wallace but with his hand up waving for the ball which never arrived.

The fundamental problem is that we do not move the ball into the opposition penalty area quickly enough which was the main difference between the teams.

7.) 10 Sep 2017 19:20:03
RR. If you have a good footballing brain, and good technique pace is not that important

8.) 10 Sep 2017 19:31:32
Rogie your right about a leader, unfortunately we can't say Hobbs as cannot be relied on to play regularly, the only other candidate is Eric and he's on his way out with no talks on a new contract and not in the plans from the look of it.
So yes we do require a leader, but one who can stay fit.
Think mills is the one from what we have but I know that won't go down well.

9.) 10 Sep 2017 19:40:05
Redinexile well said you are right we do need to move it faster, maybe that will come the more the players get used to their roles?
Patience is needed it takes time to get 8 new players and the ones he inherited to get used to a system.
Going forward, in flashes you can see some quality shining through as in the goal, great play and execution all round.
Just got to keep the faith.

10.) 10 Sep 2017 19:46:38
It is at championship level to be fair, pace hurts and it doesn't give the opposition time to put everyman behind the ball

11.) 10 Sep 2017 19:48:57
Thought Brereton was poor yesterday and not sure he will fit into the way Warburton plays so I would get rid for decent money why he's worth it

12.) 10 Sep 2017 19:49:06
For me mate,it's a must nowadays, the modern game just gets faster and faster.

13.) 10 Sep 2017 21:08:07
Whilst that is correct, we take too long trying to get the ball forward, By the time we are in the opposition half, we are trying to thread a ball through 11 players who have had time to get behind the ball. It seems warburton has to justify buying the new players and play them at all costs. We are too top heavy with attacking midfielders who all do the same thing.

14.) 11 Sep 2017 08:14:34
Yep but the players he's bought at the prices he's paid are value for money and better than what we had.
McKay alone was a steal pure quality never panics, totally comfortable on the ball even in tight situations won't be long before the big boys start bidding for him.

15.) 11 Sep 2017 14:34:44
Have to have pace in a team. can't stop pace.

29 Apr 2017 18:17:45
Next game is going to be like a cup final, the nearest we will get to one before some wise crack gets in. A full house, highly charged atmosphere and all to play for. If we win and stay up that's great . If we go down, maybe it's for the best and start all over again with new players because the highly paid ones will be off. Succeed or fail next season is just another season in the life of a Forest fan. We may lose some fans but hey ho I will still be there.

Why, why do we play the top teams off the park but can't beat the lower teams. I think Osbourne, Worrall are overrated, get a good price for them and buy a thinking midfield maestro, i think we will beat the Tractor boys😎.

Smiths distribution was awful, heart in mouth every time he had ball at feet along with Traore.
Vaughan was outstanding.

Re Murphy, we haven't had a decent header of the ball up front for years.
How many headed goals by strikers do we get?
He will make a great target man, roughing up defenders.
We need him this season, maybe by next season the youngsters will have matured and he can be a squad player, following season we could sell him.
Re his age, look at Defoe, still a scorer, remember Dean Windass, prolific in this division for Hull and got them up. Let's see what happens.

So all out attack would have prevented us conceding 2 poor goals.
The second for them skipped past three players without a challenge and goalie bottled a 50/ 50 for their third.
We played well away to a decent side.
Won't go down and the youngsters are getting experience, it will take time but we will be fine.

as it has been said before, all clubs wheel and deal. You sell, raise funds and buy. If they do well you sell and use the money to buy again. that's life for 98 % of clubs. Its not a matter of ambition its life. Players want to move to improve themselves and increase their earnings so making their life secure financially.
The club owners are having to juggle finances constantly.
Yes its sad when a good player leaves but as a supporter of many years have seen this time and time again and look forward to the next star. Bonus being if the youth set up produces a star.

It’s not VAR that’s the problem it’s the staff employed to watch it / use it
Some are totally bottling decisions that need making
And refs not using it when they should ( too much pressure to only use it sparingly )

Not saying give in to demands of players at all.
Read the comments again.
To do what you need to do means, negotiate a salary and fees
Then decide , but at least try

Why do fans think players are greedy for negotiating the best deals they can for themselves. It’s their job , their not playing for a pub team for fun.
Who cares what other clubs offered him.
If we want him and we need him you have to do what it takes to get him

When we were winning all those trophies in the 70s and 80s I used to wonder about and admire the fans of lower league teams who turn up Week in week out at poor stadiums with no facilities supporting teams that had won nothing and had no hope of winning things in the future.
They are the true supporters that have to be admired.
Yes we haven’t had a good 20 years but we have had some outstanding glory in the past.
Makes me laugh when Arsenal fans moan about what a disastrous few years they have had. . . fans sometimes need to have some perspective .

The thing with stats is , interpretation.
You say we survived because the teams below us were poor, well, yes they got less points than us so your right.
But if the bottom 3 had got more points, therefore the mid table teams would have got less points and the whole relegation situation would have been closer, you could then say the whole league was poor ?
So it’s swings and round abouts
