MM it is not difficult to predict the top 6, as history has taught us. Chelsea will do much better this season as MU and Spurs. All have invested well. Never mind the other 3! Newcastle are a quandary but Howe is an excellent manager but with Izack inevitably going, they may have a more challenging season. Similar to ours. I hope we will be in the middle group with Newcastle, AV, Brighton, Crystal Palace and possibly Bournemouth.
The rest will be in a relegation fight. Both Sunderland and Leeds have invested heavily. They are both teams with which we have often played against over the years and I would like to see them stay up. My relegation trio would be Burnley, Brentford and West Ham but Leeds and Sunderland will be in the mix but I hope at least one survives.

I would take Forest finishing ninth and above, difficult season though more so than second season back!, I think Everton will be higher and Fulham might do well?.

Anywhere in that top 10 would be ok with me. Obviously higher the better, but top half would be a good solid season.

I agree, solid mid table with perhaps a push for Europe next season through the Europa? I’d be happy with a comfortable survival with our lightish squad and extra games with travelling on a Thursday night! Coyr!

So we are 11th in squad value (Transfermrkt)
If we buy a few players, then 10th is where we are at. That makes us an established Prem club. The target has to be to qualify for Europe every season to move the club forward. Not easy.
Signing some players with Prem experience to avoid having too many players who might take at least a season to bed into a new country and league is important. That's why I approve of signing Hutchinson, McAtee, Tsimikas, Traore (not looking easy) and players like that. The other signings are good but might not be firing for a while.

Your optimism is admirable. But 6th?

That’s an excellent and informative post Cyclist and puts things in perspective. ???
It might also focus a few minds on here and the Forest hierarchy to think in terms of 1st and 2nd teams
Our first 11, playing Nunos favourite 4231 for arguments sake is not too shoddy ( I’m thinking mid table ish
Sels, Williams Murillo, Malenkovic, Aina, Yates or Sanghere, Anderson, CHO, MGW, Ndoye, Wood.
2nd 11 ( obviously interchangeable) Gunn, Moreira, Boly, Morato Cunha or Abbott, Yates or Sanghere, Dominquez, ( injured atm), Jota, Anoniyi, Sinclair?
Suddenly we don’t look so clever do we? A few injuries and suspensions will ( plus the extra Thursday night matches in Europe ) and we start to look a bit stretched quality wise …….

Very difficult to break into the top 6, villa only just made it with the signings they made in January. Will be same top 5 this year not sure what order though with Man Utd probably in top 6. Would be OK season for us if we in chasing pack with Villa, Spurs, Brighton, Bournemouth, Palace so 8th-12th I reckon still need at least 3 additions though.
11.) 13 Aug 2025
13 Aug 2025 17:14:44
That second 11 would look a lot stronger if it was something like:
Even just 4 **signings** and things look a LOT HEALTHIER.
Sels, Williams, Murillo, Milenkovic, Aina, Sanghare, Anderson, CHO, MGW, Ndoye, Wood.
Gunn, Moreira, Boly, Cunha, *Tsimikas*, Yates, Dominguez, *Hutchinson*, *McAtee*, *Dilane Bakwa/ Traore*, Jesus/ Awoniyi.

Man united won't get top six
Villa without Europe will be up there, Newcastle in Europe and no isak could drop out, spurs are about to get a thumping tonight and are run by Levy
Palace and Brighton will improve, Bournemouth list all their defence so can't see them getting near
Never discount Fulham and I believe wolves will be on the up.

Agreed cyclist. That 2 nd 11 looks a lot more beefed up. Let’s hope the hierarchy get a move on with the incomings mate.

I agree with people who think we might struggle to repeat last season's position. I think if we don't sign some players who already have Prem experience, then we have to be really LUCKY.
When I say LUCKY, what I mean is that two out of every three players take time to find their feet in a new league and country. SO we'd be lucky if more of them do.
We were LUCKY when Murillo and Sels settled really quickly. But it is notable that a lot of our best or bargain signings had Prem experience already. Serge Aurier, Williams, Ola Aina, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Elanga and especially Wood, all had Prem experience.
That's why I think Hutchinson, Tsimikas, Traore, McAtee or other players with games here under their belt make more sense than some on here realise. Yes, wonderkid from faraway place might have a high ceiling and potential, but can we wait until February when we have games every Thursday and Sunday for a lot of the season?

Teams will just let us have the ball instead of letting us defend. Then we will be buggered.
