Shaun Wright-Phillips and Michael Mancienne are being linked with the club. Wright-Phillips has supposedly met with Fawaz to discuss terms with the club. Pearce wants Mancienne to comeback and lead the defence alongside Laceselles, he wants to comeback to England and would be available for between 1.5m and 2m.

1.) Do we want an experienced winger?
Probably SWP would certainly cut the mustard.

A new Centre Half?
It would probably push Danny Collins totally out of the frame, and we'd have a few on our books with Hobbs, Wilson, Lacelles, Collins, Laing and Halford with Mancienne that would give us 7.

Collins would be an obvious choice to leave, perhaps retain Halford as the utility player, with Laing out on loan?

Of course people will say if we do get Mancienne is could be Lacelles to leave in a big money move

2.) 22 Jun 2014 08:56:33
Love for Mancienne to join, he has been linked to Forest ever since Pearce became manager. Think could get for less than mentioned fee, but wages (same as SWP) could be a factor as both on high wages (40k+) I expect.

3.) Wright-Phillips is just what forest need. Bags of pace, Top flight experiance and would be on a free as he is refusing a new contract from QPR. Can't quite see it happening, but would be a great signing none the less.

4.) Good player mancienne but I don't think he is better than what we have at the moment. As for wright Phillips he would offer that out and out width I think we need more of, but he is well past his best now

5.) So Hobbs will be o the bench? Not sure about that bit.

6.) Surely their wages would threaten our FFP situation, they wouldn't take a massive pay cut and would cause unrest between the other players on lower wages.
I think we will see more signings like the previous free transfers or lower league players.

7.) 22 Jun 2014 10:05:22
Shaun Wright-Phillips, no thanks! That lad used to have so much ability, but he seems to have lost it all. If this is true, I hope SP can bring the best back out of him, but I can't see it myself.
Michael Mancienne, I used to rate and this rumour was around last year, does anyone know how he has progressed in the Bundasliga? I would of preferred the Eric Dier rumour to have been true. Younger and loads of potential

8.) SWP hasn't played in QPRs promotion push last season for one reason, he has lost his drive and is more than happy picking up his wage wherever he plays

9.) Mancienne linked to prem clubs at£4million so doubt it. Yes to SWP though.

10.) SWP! Please! Does anyone out there remember Franz Carr? Pace and no talent!

{Ed034's Note - not good enough anymore....register please

11.) It would be a good move, I have not thought about wilson or hobbs purely because of last seasons injuries. personnally I think both are struggling and will probably continue to do so (only my opinion) swp is money motivated and has lost a lot of his desire to want to play.

12.) Mancienne yes. SWP no. SWP is the wrong end of his career and barely played at QPR. Mancienne is still at a good age and has played at a decent level in Germany.

13.) I would prefer Mackie on the wing rather than an overpaid SWP looking for a pay cheque. Or Pato on the right, Reid left and Landsbury and Vaughan in the middle. But this isn't championship manager!

14.) Mancienne is not on 40k, not even VDV on that, Hamburg have no money.

15.) 22 Jun 2014 16:07:19
I personally would prefer Burke than swp

16.) Would rather use the money from both and buy Odebajo from orient.

17.) Got a mate who is a QPR fan. They would love to offload SWP because apparently he's been absolute garbage for two seasons. He's passed it, big time.

18.) What makes you say he wants to come back and play alongside lascelles?
Would he not play alongside Hobbs or Wilson?

I was sat at the Peterborough United game and chatting to Britt Asombalonga, (I have a pic with him on my facebook page). He says he hasn't had any contact with anyone from Forest concerning a move but has said if Peterborough don't go up he would be very interested to discuss a transfer with the club and believes he could do a great job for us next season as he felt he didn't get given a chance at Watford.

Forest_Redman

1.) Would be a reasonable signing. Would take Wickham, Deeney, Guidetti or Wilson first though.

Forest are in final talks with two strikers with the hope of signing one for the weekend either to play or to be paraded prior to the game.
If they fail in one of these then I believe Maynard has been approached about a potential loan deal until the end of the season but with the club having no interest in a permanent move this may hold things up.
The two strikers that forest are in final talks with would appear to be Fryatt and another (Unclear if its a previous mentioned striker Boyd, Wells, Wickham, Rhodes or another). Appreciate these have been in previous threads but it does appear to be far more certain now based on movement at the club and conversations with people associated with their parent clubs.

Forest_Redman

1.) No way in this world would a team "parade"a new signing at an away game so therefore I doubt your rumonrs

2.) I'm am fed up of the talk of Rhodes, there is no chance we are buying him. 1) Simply we can not afford the fee and the wages, 2) Why would Blackburn sell him to a rival championship mid-season? I very much doubt we will get a striker in, but if we do, it most certainly won't be Rhodes or Long.

3.) Fryatt been told he will be part of his teams plans. according to the daily rag

4.) Boyd is rubbish too, he is in no way better than what we already have.

5.) I'd go with wells, wickham, and Maynard, whoever it is will do well to get straight in this side and make an instant impact!

6.) Don't forget the goal machine Becchio! He would score for fun with the service to the front line that we have at the mo. Proven at this level and not getting a sniff at Norwich- he would bang them in for us. Uredz.

7.) Connor Wickham would be a complete waste of money he's useless just not what we need! Fryatt is a journeyman striker not good enough. Don't have enough money for Rhodes back to the drawing board!

{Ed034's Note - what are you executing in a striker if you think wickham is a waste of money?? Oh and fryatt has had 3 clubs in 10 years (barring 20 games out in loan). Hardly a journeyman

8.) Ed you seriously think Fryatt better than what we have already got? Wickham went to the Prem far too early in his career hasn't done much and £6 million been banded about too much of a risk in my opinion.

{Ed034's Note - wickham would be a fantastic signing and will get us goals. Fryatt is different to any other striker we have, has scored goes throughout his career and will give us another option. At the price being mentioned, I'd take him.
I take it you agree fryatt is not a journeyman then

9.) I meant the skills of a journeyman striker rather than the number of clubs he's been at.

{Ed034's Note - you are clearly trying to wing it, rather than admitting you were wrong, as that is rubbish what you've just said and makes no sense hahaha

10.) For 6 months I'd sooner have Kevin Phillips than signing some failed Premiership striker for big money. Then sign Wells or JET as up and comers and rotate with Hendo Halford and Derbyshire.
Sorted!
Redinexile

11.) Get the trumpets out. we love a parade. we could set it up as a half time catwalk. "shall we play them on saturday?. na, i'd much rather drag them down to the ground and parade them. get the floats out fawas. let's have a self indulgent party. no let's have a festival". parade! that word irritates me more than "20 goal a season striker"

I brought this one to everyone attention months ago after the end of the season and Pearce signed. Old news!

Forest_Redman

{Ed034's Note - hardly old news when he signed today

The medicals for the two individuals were completed on Friday afternoon, the two individuals appear to be a good start to the season already. One of the players comes with a pedigree already the other would appear to be an excellent prospect. One is definitely a striker. Trust in Fawaz.
