Here's one a mate in UK texted me this morning, he was at the game yesterday and heard as part of Darlow and Lascelles deal, we have the option to loan Darlow for a second season, anyone else heard this?

Bielefeld Red

1.) Can't see that. There would be no point signing him if that was the case

2.) 24 Aug 2014 14:27:40
Really can't see that being the case. They will want to use him at some point

3.) It would be a sensible idea for Newcastle, blood him half a season in the prem, but Kruls a liability so can't see it in truth

4.) 24 Aug 2014 15:24:50
Don't see why they needed him in the first place, they have Tim krul who is a great keeper and also their own young keeper rob Elliot who has played well when selected.

5.) Josh, you right I think he will be a bench warmer, even No. 3

6.) Unsure if true but Chelsea signed a keeper then loaned him to Atheletico Madrid for two years!

Now look at him!

7.) I've heard that Darlow with his reluctance to sign at the last minute for Newcastle they added a relegation release clause, to persuade him he's doing the right thing. Anyone know how true this is? If so does this mean he's on a freebie or just the deal gets ko'd?

{Ed034's Note - heard nothing of the sort

8.) They bought him because the price was so attractive; whether he ever plays for them or not, as a young English keeper attracting attention and developing his game in the Championship, he represents a solid investment.

9.) What would Darlow do IF we got promoted into the EPL? Don't think he would be NUFC first choice keeper, but more than likely would be ours. Is re-signing him out of the picture when we have more cash to play around with under FFP? Would the fans accept him back?

{Ed034's Note - why wouldn't they??

10.) 25 Aug 2014 09:26:22
I wonder if its more a case of having first option on him if they send him out on loan again, kind of like some deals where you have first option to buy a player back if the club decide to sell.

11.) 25 Aug 2014 12:28:05
We should not have sold Darlow but if we go up. We will probably buy him back for double what we sold him for.

{Ed034's Note - we sold him to fund assombolonga and Antonio.

12.) That's not happening unless agreed at the season end. plus the clown who said Krul's a liability either doesn't understand what a goalkeeper does or doesn't understand football fullstop!

Can see Krul moving on next season and Darlow may just be the Newcastle number 1.

13.) Ha ha ha. Tim Krul Is better than Joe Hart! What a muppet.

So there is a buy back clause, only If we get promoted and Is worth more than the value we sold both players for.

Heard from a squaddie mate living in Holland that the lars veldwijk rumour is true, and reports there say we have got him, anyone know anymore?

Bielefeld Red

1.) There will not be no signings until after World Cup, more will be going out first.

{Ed034's Note - prediction or fact??

2.) Seen and heard nothing of this in local news?

3.) Thats a double negative, so there will be signings!

4.) Cnt see that. that means the other clubs will get their players first. even the the ones forest are interested in. got a feeling it will start when the ceo starts next month.

Heard from some military friends stationed in Holland that they have heard Bryan Roy is being lined up as part of the new back room staff, I am in Germany. Anyone on here from that area and may of heard anything?

I for one would love to see that happen.

Bielefeld Red

1.) Brian Roy is currently helping run the academy at Ajax.

2.) Be a good move if true, very good technical coaching in Holland, might give us an extra dimension regards to tactics, rather than the old regime of pushing players where they break down too easy from overtraining. Hope it's true.

3.) Not sure about this since Pearce called him Lazy when was in the Caretaker role here last. BR may have accepted it and moved on but not sure he would be willing to leave Ajax.

4.) I agree with PK1 re. Training regime bad luck is 2-3 first team players out long term but 7-8! Something not right. Was very impressed with mclaughlin and osborn against Leeds great to have young players with something to prove be given a chance. Hart credits Pearce a lot for his career, hopefully he can get the best out of young talent we have. That's joe hart not paul hart.

5.) Completely agree reference tech training keep the players match fit, don't destroy them.

midfielder Henri Lansbury has been ruled out for up to three months with a fractured lower back.

Bielefeld Red

1.) Gutted. Massive loss.

2.) When does loan window open Ed mate? may need it with Vaughan out too.

{Ed034's Note - this week

3.) Vaughan is a loss, but with Lansbury out, we have gone from being on such a high on 31 Jan to a bit of a low on 5 Feb. let's hope the boys can put in a good performance against Preston.

4.) On a positive both back for play offs fresh if required!

5.) I'm praying Dorran's deal is already agreed. Massive loss with Vaughan as well. After the a good Jan, Feb is a nightmare!

6.) I no Vaughan is a quality player at this level but he has only played 6 games since joining us on 31st of October. so its not that much of a loss as he has been injured for most of his time here so another injury was bound to happen.

7.) Preston are all over us, if we do not replace Lansbury and Vaughn then we will not get play offs never mind automatics, moussi and jara are pathetic

{Ed034's Note - other than lascelles and maybe Halford, nobody has played well, so why pick out two??

8.) This is a shame because if this preston game is anything to go by were awful
tomo irish red

{Ed034's Note - let's forget the last 13 games then

9.) This terrible news. Absolutely gutted as Lansbury imo has been our most influential plyer this season.

Fingers crossed we can get Dorrans in lively!

10.) Ed even you have to admit we were awful the only option for sat is reid to come in which leaves us short to be honest give me lansbury ahead of jara any day.
tomo irish red

{Ed034's Note - other than lascelles and Halford, nobody played well. Anyone who is sane would choice Lansbury over jara, but that doesn't mean jara won't do a good job. Billy will give them a kick up the arse and will be back on it Saturday

11.) That's a little unfair ed I thought Collins played well and also De vries

{Ed034's Note - Collins had a few chances to clear his lines and de vries had a few dodgy moments

12.) How can u knock jara and moussi. It's a cup tie away against a lower league team in horrendous weather. Your an person if you honestly expected us to go there and play them off the park. In what was a backs against the wall performance there is no way we'd have come away with anything if those two hadn't of played their part.

Keeno

13.) Losing Lansbury is to me a disaster, he is our strong point nerve in midfield, Reid our offensive heart, hope he stays fit, but we need to dip in the loan market now. Hope for Dorrans!
Damn we were poor tonight, but a win is a win, and Junior Clough up next!

Suddenly the party of January has turned into a gutted feeling over losing a couple of very strong midfielders, and yes Moussi has done well lately, but he is not the whole answer!
Forest Dane

14.) Spot on Keeno, sometimes you have to play ugly to win, Jara is a cultured player not his type of game at all, but who cares we won quarter final beckons, be happy!

15.) We fell into the trap tonight that many teams do, of just trying to clear our lines. The trouble is when you do that without someone getting hold of it it just keeps coming back. As everyone says Lascelles was superb.

16.) Not at all sure Moussi, Jara and Greening are good enough to get us to play-offs and beyond. Midfield overrun tonight. Need a loan if possible.

17.) Vaughan and now Lansbury. Hope they are wrapping Reid in cotton-wool! Who said we were awash with midfielders! If we want promotion this year (and I think Fawaz and Billy do) then we are going to need to get serious in the loan market!

18.) How did he do it?

Did a ginga with a brolli push him infront of a car? :O

19.) Although I'd like to see someone else come in like Leadbitter. Jeas thought the rumours were done lol. But why do we have the likes of Stephen McLaughlin, Greening, and Gillet in the squad if there not good enough as back ups? I think it will be Greening, but think Stephen McLaughlin should be given his chance to move up, he is older than Paterson after all. If he and Gillet aren't good enough, then why is Fawaz paying their wages?

20.) Poor display tonight from a team that should be able t o play a lot better. mussi and jara is not the answer to our injury woes however give me jara anyday over moose. maybe we let chabs go to soon

21.) How unlucky can we be losing both for me Landsbury would be in my first 2on the team sheet he wwins every thing and does the stuff reidy dosnt. Look at our performances without him to with him hE will be a massive blow.
thought the moose looked leggy tonight but has been 3 games in 7 days.
he may step up, personally I think collins is not good for our defence and thank god we have jack back for the next few games because the next four weeks could decide our outcome at the end of the season.

milborne red

22.) While I agree that losing Lansbury is huge I am sure BD and Fawaz will do their best in the loan window. In the meantime we have Abdoun and Paterson and Mackie who can play on the flanks and Reidy in the central number 10 role. Moussi has done well recently and then we have Radi and Greening etc. it's not all doom and gloom. COYR

23.) Dan Gosling is another player who's available after returning to Newcastle. He could certainly do a job in the centre of the park.

24.) Ed. Collins, DeVries and Lascelles were the reason we won this evening. I was at the game and these 3 were excellent.

25.) Sorry pal but Collins put us under quite a bit of pressure buy not clearing the ball. we missed a leader more than anything last night. thing is we have these players to come in darlow, Hobbs, gomis, lichaj, paterson (start) and djebbour. that's not bad for the next game is it. mouse, jara, reid, Paterson, abdoun and Mackie that's still a strong midfield.
Shocking how over the top people go when a player is out.

26.) Vaughan played 6 games out of 18 since he has been here. ya can't miss what you never had. lol

27.) Cohen, Lansbury, Vaughan, Blackstock and Wilson - pretty unlucky!

I know Blackstock wasn't in the frame but you would have thought he'd have got a chance at some point also!

Bad times!

28.) So far this season, we've been without reidy and won, Vaughn played only 6 games, Cohen most of season out, Hobbs gone awol for a bit and lichaj missed quite a few, so on balance we are not doing to bad are we? Still to come in are djebour, Hobbs, lichaj and fox, I'm sure I've missed one or two but u get my point!

Wickham has extended his youth loan with Wednesday until January 28th, 2014.

Bielefeld Red

1.) Official, it's on Wednesdays website

2.) 31 Dec 2013 14:57:30
Shame. Think he would have been a very good signing for us. Still only 20 odd and a good eye for goal.

3.) So he keeps match fit until we agree a fee with Sunderland to join us on deadline day?. unless we land someone better!
Redinexile

4.) A good player BUT we a massive price tag above his head. £8m-£12m move to Sunderland which is correct, never quite cut it for the Black Mogs and they will be looking at recouping a lot of that back I am sure. Not worth that in my opinion.

5.) Does wickham not want a challenge I know playing for sheff Wednesday is a challenge in it self.

6.) So you've just answered your own question

7.) I feel quite confident that Wickham has not signed for us because we were not in for him.

You would assume that if we were in for him then he would probably choose us over SW and also we could pay more of his wages than SW so would be a better deal for SAFC.

I wonder if this means that we are making progress with other options?

8.) Just noticed that 4 people have clicked the unbelievable box.

Why is it unbelievable when it has been officially announced?

Unbelievable!

9.) 31 Dec 2013 17:04:05
Kevin Phillips on his way

10.) Can't believe we don't have a better offer than sheffield Wednesday. Shocking. Guessing bd has a bigger fish in mind.

11.) Deejayebee

I think its safe to assume that if we actually wanted Wickham we would have got him over SW.

BD obviously has other plans

12.) Kevin Phillips? Lol. on his way where? A retirement home? Agree with previous post - I don't believe we were officially I'm for him. I could believe we enquired but laughed at the price tag! Imo I think there's better people available for less or the same money, either permanent or on loan.

13.) If we want Kevin Phillips then he will come for sensible money and no fee. He has agrred to move on to play closer to home which is Coventry. I know I would sooner him sitting on our bench as an impact sub than Derby or Leicester!

14.) The loan is only till 28th jan, which gives the impression the Sunderland will be selling on a permanent deal at end of transfer window.

Brit out for a year

Nottingham Forest's hopes of signing Jack Hunt have been further dented after Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish confirmed upping the price for the highly-rated full-back.

Bielefeld Red

1.) 14 Oct 2014 19:18:26
Palace will want at least what they paid for hunt.
I would pay it snip at 2m. But in today's stupid valuations ie chambers shaw ect palace probably asking double what they paid Huddersfield

2.) I thought when a player came on a loan a price to buy him was normally fixed in the contract ?

3.) Dunlop I think a price was agreed (probably in principle) but other clubs have shown lots of interest so Palace are now saying the price has gone up. There's no point us moaning I am sure we would do the same. If he keeps playing the way he has done and we are top come January he may be worth every penny of Palace valuation.

4.) What does me is that we took a punt on him because of his injury and we have done them a favour by getting him fully fit and playing in a decent team yet we will get shafted!parish talks like he's done us a favour by lending him to us and then putting the price up. yes he's good but I would call there bluff.

5.) Should have bought him and then there would be no arguments. Lichaj not as good if we have to use him after Jan. Hopefully we can strengthen again in New Year.

6.) Twf79 we agreed a fee with palace in summer and were going to buy him then but ran out of time to agree terms with hunt so loaned him just so we could get him in. Now we have agreed terms with him palace aren't happy with the price we agreed in the summer. They have seen him playing well, seen other teams show an interest and realised that they can ask for more for him

7.) It's all well and good saying we should of just bought him but what if he wasn't fully recovered from the serious injury that he had and got injured again?people would of been moaning we have bought another injury prone player. he's ours till jam so keep him till then and if the price is still high move on.

8.) We can't moan at Palace, they're just doing what is best for their club. It's Forest's fault for not getting it sorted at the beginning of the loan.

Lichaj is more than capable at right-back if Hunt goes elsewhere. Players come and go, let's move on if we have to.

I will be watching the game, on the laptop hopefully, from my house in Paderborn Germany, to all those going tomorrow enjoy and hope you all go home with no voices left!

Hi all great banter .im on holiday in Italy but proud to say my boys will be in their usual seats in the Trent end to see the return of psyco. Fawaz is doing us proud! He should be running the country with his book balancing skills.
Any ideas where I can get to see the match on the net?.
Enjoy the game everybody

Any news on the Rafik saga? just asking as all the other players who where on loan or did not have there contracts renewed have now been removed from the O/S and he is still on there.

Bielefeld Red

{Ed034's Note - he is set to sign july 1st, pearce does not want him and we are trying to offload him. there are teams interested in taking him off our hands.

1.) Cheers Ed, keep up the could work mate.

{Ed034's Note - you're welcome, thanks

2.) Other teams would need to have Stevie Wonder as their manager

3.) Before Djebbour signed I did a search on the internet encyclopaedia. This mentioned that he had a history of disruption which to my mind was borne out by the fact that he was top scorer for Olympiacos one season and out on loan to a Greek outfit the next! I think we'll take a knock selling this one on - if we manage to shift him. Why did we bother in the first place?

{Ed034's Note - because billy wanted a striker and agreed to him. pearce wants to go a different way

4.) The post said that Forest have an option to buy Rafik and they don't have to actually get him so they won't.

{Ed034's Note - the said last week that it is complicated and they are being told they have to go through with the sale

5.) I hope that he & aboden have a good world cup then we get a lot of intrest for both of them & off load em for a wad of money

6.) Abdoun isn't in their squad.

7.) Ok so if djeddour scores a few in the world cup & someone wants him for daft money just say abdoun has to go with him as part of the deal, lol

8.) If only we were that lucky.

08 Feb 2014 14:13:45
No Gomis in squad today, any ideas? just seems odd signing to me

Bielefeld Red

1.) Has his international clearance gone through?

{Ed034's Note - by now I would have thought so

To put the fee into context, Derby County recently sold the naming rights of Pride Park too sports drink manufacturer iPro for £7 million over 10 years, 1. 4% of Forests supposed fee. An even more disturbing comparison is Arsenal who struck an extension deal for naming rights with the Emirates in 2012 worth £150m over 5 years.
