Rumours WBA made an approach for Antonio. Sly spurts news. Every player has their price but we can't replace him. Be surprised if we let him go unless WBA pay big money.

Completely agree about the "can't be replaced" part, especially not at this stage in the season.

Crucial times are ahead, and we need the work rates and commitment.

According to bird site Huddersfield interested in Henderson. Please take him. What do you think Ed?

Trickie Trees

{Ed034's Note - he can do a job for us by being an impact sub, but I don't think he'd be happy playing that role. If he stays he's a decent option, if he goes it frees up room for someone else

1.) Apparently Leeds want simon cox as well

2.) Sorry ed but Hendo was terrible last season - he just has no real touch or control and cox tries but needs too many chances to score. We need to clear out and put our money into a more hopeful fresh prospect.

{Ed034's Note - he can come on and cause havoc up front. As I said, if he stays or goes I wouldn't really be that bothered either way

3.) He averages a goal every 167 minutes. just had a quick look and jordan rhodes averages a goal every 160 minutes.

4.) Sell Cox and Henderson, Cox puts in 100% effort, but with very little end result, Henderson just doesn't do enough and his final touch is awful, get 1.5 million for the 2 of them, put that towards assombolanga from Peterborough

5.) 29 Jun 2014 21:06:15
Let him go along with dex.

6.) I personally wouldn't mind seeing both Hendo and cox leave if it means we can bring in someone new and also give young talent like walker and demetriou chances to perform and show what they can do.

7.) Completely agree with Ed. He's a decent option but I'm not bothered if he stays or goes. He's not the tidiest of centre-forwards but his power and aggression alone can unsettle defences.

Would be happy to see him leave if he was replaced with quality though.

8.) I would like us to keep him. If he can find the form he had 1st half of the season then that would be great

Rumour on bird site that Rotherham Utd and Leeds Utd are interested in Simon Cox. It hasn't worked out for Coxy at Forest. I think it would be a mutually good move. Particularly to Leeds. Bound to score against us mind!

Trickie Trees

1.) Good get rid, can bring another Striker in! Leeds? Maybe swap for Mcormack ;-)

2.) When are people going to understand we are not going to be buying McCormack or Rhodes or any player valued 7-8m+ it's not going to happen guys be realistic please.

3.) Why all the hate against cox. He's a great squad player to have. Agreed he doesn't score many goals but under billy no striker we've ever had had scored goals. I think cox could be a very different player under psychos leadership next season.

{Ed034's Note - because there always has to be one lol

4.) 22 Jun 2014 12:56:41
Sell Cox and bring in the lad from Coventry, then we should have a good a good pair strikers

5.) 22 Jun 2014 13:41:40
I think cox with a manager who will get the best out of him and plays him up front with another striker, not on his own, will be good for us.

6.) 22 Jun 2014 14:33:14
I think your right Marko let's go out and spend 6+ million on a player that has one good season the one or two bad ones?just have a quick look onlinei at his career and tell me then if you still think he's worth 6million.

7.) Cox was actually very good under O'Driscoll in the early days. We just need a manager who encourages our strikers first and foremost to score goals rather than main priority being total workhorses

8.) Gazza2969, we were going for 5 mil + players start of last season ie: Charlie Austin, there are a lot of players being shipped out, and nothing much spent yet, so what has changed this year?

9.) Last year you could go out and splash the cash as ffp didn't come on properly. now it has you have to be sensible.

10.) The difference is 2-3 million Marko and Iam not being sarcastic mate. We are a championship club with championship income, we may have very wealthy owners but they can only put in so much and with FFP even stricter this coming season I think you are going to see us tighten our belt abut this season after last years 17m over spend.

11.) Can someone explain to me why we need yet another defender? As for SWP I would rather have someone younger and hungry. Spend the money on another striker!

12.) Why not try cox as an attacking midfield player, no one can fault his work rate and laying him in the hole will provide him with knock downs and also give him sighly longer on the ball.

13.) Coxy is a technically sound player who is cosy on the ball and can spot a good pass, he IMO is not the most mobile player and seems to be lacking that killer instinct, he is a player who will suit some formations over others, he links up play well going forward. I say hold on, get rid of others first if at all poss.

14.) I don't think Cox will do well at our club. He has had opportunities before with us as a striker and at other clubs with little success. He may have a future in midfield for another club but not ours. I wish him all the best

15.) I agree with Doc post. Think Cox has had enough chances and don't think it will change this coming season.

Hope i'm wrong but he won't get into our midfield so coulf be time to move on.

16.) Who worth 6 Mill uptheforest?

17.) At last some common sense doc m well said sir!

Strong rumour that Brian Eastwick former England U20 coach will be Stuart Pearce's first appointment. Would be a good link between academy and 1st team which is what Pearce is trying to achieve.

Trickie Trees

1.) Not sure why we'd want a 'link' from the youth team to the first team because at present there aren't any players in the youth team that are good enough to make the step up. Osborn is proving that, he'll be plying his trade in League One/Two within 12-18 months. We have financial backing for Jeff's sake. Why do we feel the need to rely on academy players?

Poor result today at Bournemouth but looking at the first XI we put out it wasn't really a surprise. What happened to half our squad, are they still injured or can't they be bothered to turn up anymore? Have the 'big' signings been frozen out for dross like Osborn and McLaughlin? I think Djebbour and Abdoun with their laces tied together would be better than those two.

2.) It should be in every clubs duty to develop their own players.
We already have a good team, why should we splash loads more cash about? pointless, spend a few quid on some young hungry players from L1 (maybe one expensive signing). Ben Osborn is a good player why are you knocking him down by saying he will be in L1 in 12 months? He has great potential, we should be pushing these young players into great players, we have a great academy, I think it should be utilised because in the long run we could save MILLIONS!
Look at so'ton, there rolling off the production line and do you know why? Because they give their youngsters a chance, and they also have a fantastic scouting network to get them in the academy in the first place, which is exactly what Pearce will do.

3.) The club needs to look at younger talent via the academy but also young talent such as when we brought in Lansbury. We have had too many expensive mercenaries such as Cox, Halford, Fox etc. Get some younger talent and develop them with good coaches. Cheaper method and ultimately getting players who want to fight for the shirt.

{Ed034's Note - cox is only 26 and when he came was seen as a great coupe.
Not all signings work but you can't just have a squad of a certain age. We need a mixture of up and coming, players at there prime and players who have been there and can guide

4.) Yes, of course. Bale, Walcott, Shaw and Lallana are brilliantly players purely because they were "given a chance". Nothing to do with their undoubted ability and nothing to with Southampton having one of the biggest and best scouting networks in the country. Just give a few players a "chance" and we'll find the next Bale. Flawless logic.

5.) Just like us not giving shaun wright-phillips his 'chance' then. and let him go for nothing! Then some years later got sold to Chelsea for 20m.

Pearce at Peterborough game today. I bet he was looking at Assombalonga or Tommy Rowe. Assombalonga would be pricey but has some pace, strength and knows where the net is.

Trickie Trees

1.) Hope he noticed that striker at the Leeds game- scored 2 goals and looked a proper player- wonder where he's been all season?

2.) I have never been derbyshires biggest fan but if we don't offer him a contract then somethin ain't right! It seems to mean so much to him to be playin and scorin, and not many other players can say that at the min

3.) Sitting on the bench not getting a chance under billy just shows what happens to a striker when they are giving some backing even when they don't score well done matty. Also osborn looks like a bit of talent COYR.

4.) Matt Derbyshire on his own won't fire us into the Prem. We need at least one and probably two new strikers. Creating a striking partnership is a must. Think Ings and Vokes, Collymore and Roy etc. Derbshire and Wilson or Assombalonga could be good partnerships.

5.) Matt Derbyshire has proved many critics wrong including myself. I hope SP keeps him. But we still need 2 more strikers and offload Cox and Henderson

{Ed034's Note - please register or log in

6.) I remember a similar situation with blackstock under o Driscoll. Came in scored a few goals, we went mad and fawaz gave him a bumper 4 year deal and then he was rubbish again. agree to him getting a new deal but nothing crazy, still has to prove consistency and not just in a handful of games

Pearce said in an interview a few weeks a go that when on a scouting trip a couple of seasons ago he had asked Huddersfield fans who their best player was and they had said Hunt. A top quality player who I would love to see on a permanent deal. Not a fan of Warnock but I would have thought that he an Pearce have a decent relationship through their dealings on that sports radio show. But he is a Palace player who no doubt Warnock will keep a close eye on from now on. We might have to make a decent offer for him.

Whether loaned or purchased or a combination SP realises we need more quality. He will be looking at a no. 9, possibly a winger and a midfielder I suspect. I think there are premier league youngsters fill a midfield position but we will probably have to spend a reasonable fee on a striker. It seems from rumours that we have been scouting abroad. Might be a way of getting better value as prices in England are inflated.
Adomah would have been good but I think £3M is as high as we will go. Boro don't need to sell as they are backed by Gibson's money. I like the fact the club put in a bid and just move on if the bid is accepted.

Thanks for getting sent off and fighting with the opposition centre back. Good riddance.

Having watched the incident on Forest Player it didn't look like a knock. His left standing leg twists or buckles slightly. There is no real contact with the player. It looked like a knee ligament injury to me. Hopefully not an ACL injury but a medial ligament sprain. We will have to see what the scan shows.
