Some facts I learnt last night
1. SC does not get on with Marakanis - no surprise there. I suspect 8/ 10 players coming to the club are not his choice
2. Graham Potter will be the next Forest manager.

17 Sep 2021 09:51:08
Our new manager is Steve Cooper? How do I know? Well all I can say is that he has been seen yesterday looking at a house.

doc m

1.) 17 Sep 2021 10:18:17
I doesn't matter who our next manager is and I think it's about time people stop blaming the managers.
The club has been a shambles for a long time now and it's clear to me where the problem truly lies.

MARINAKIS OUT!

2.) 17 Sep 2021 11:06:29
Tomo, mate, sadly without Marinakos there wouldn’t be Forest to support . We’d be defunct except for some glorious pages in the history books. Sometimes you have to sup with the devil to survive. 😕.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 12:00:59
I hope he's only looking at short term rental properties Doc.

4.) 17 Sep 2021 16:34:55
Marinakis is keeping the club alive. Be careful what you wish for.

16 Sep 2021 07:19:00
Allegedly Steve Cooper and Alex Neil are in the melting pot . If it's true both will be trying to negotiate for control of player transfers . This is the problem not paying off CH . Big M is not in control, it's the myriad of people in between all wanting to have a finger in the pie . The club is undergoing a slow death due to their decision to sign player after player with 0 pedigree. We will not get either Cooper or Neil if the managers role is simply a coach . I.

doc m

1.) 16 Sep 2021 08:27:53
Don’t want any of them underperforming idiots, frying pan, fire.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 08:31:40
Alex Neil was at the game last night. Seems odd that he would come to watch dreary Wednesday game at the CG.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 09:34:47
Noooo! Please NO!

4.) 16 Sep 2021 10:35:23
With you perko, nooo nooo nooo to either. I would rather have clough and pearce. Now that would sort this lot out.

19 May 2021 15:22:08
The successful teams next session will have a nucleus of players who have played together at least one season before . So we have McKenna Worrall and maybe Lawrence Gabriel . So maybe a new left back. Midfield we have Yates and Cafu ( Cafu got a contract last season so someone thinks he is good ) . I guess Brennan Mighten to develop further. So we need a midfield dynamo plus a winger and a forward or two.

doc m

1.) 19 May 2021 20:59:54
We need a manager first I'm worried who he will bring in with his tactics.

2.) 19 May 2021 21:02:09
Cafu is a nowhere player. I simply cannot see where his strengths lie. He can't tackle can't head can't shoot, is slow, and his passing forward shocking. get rid.

3.) 19 May 2021 21:54:02
But apart from that, he’s a fantastic player 😂.

4.) 20 May 2021 06:39:18
Perko lol sometimes he did quite well just poncing around looking a little tidy. But when you wear gloves when there's a nip in the air and your meant to be gritty midfielder, you have to be special. Average with NO end product, we need much much better players.

{Ed014's Note - I thought for a minute there you were talking about Paul Pogba! 🤣

5.) 20 May 2021 11:00:14
Agreed Rutland, not good enough. Think he was given a two year contract aswell, who makes these decisions. He offers nothing.

6.) 23 May 2021 20:18:22
Apart from Garner the whole midfield are dross. Get rid of the lot and start again.

7.) 28 May 2021 22:18:41
Id still keep sammy for the bench. Don't care what you lot think. He can change a game, pass or shot. On little wages. Looks lazy and can be. But one of the only players apart from garner sadly i thought could change a game from midfield. Just saying.

8.) 29 May 2021 12:00:01
I’ve got no problem keeping ameobi Bowie, just wish he could unplat his feet and learn to cross a ball.

10 May 2021 21:58:08
Can no one in the FA see the stupidity of the current arrangements between the bottom of the premier league and the Championship. It is an utter disgrace that teams are allowed to yo yo between leagues whilst teams like Brentford have to fight in the playoffs. What's the betting that WBA and Fulham will be promoted next season!
Ed The parachute payments they got season before last surely they don't get again .

doc m

{Ed002's Note - They do indeed get them paid again and I agree the system is unfair and the money should be spread out differently but the argument is based on the disparity of income between the two divisions could adversely impact the relegated side - there have been a few examples of clubs falling away in the past.}

1.) 11 May 2021 09:51:36
I think clubs fall way because the chairman takes out after the visit to the prem.

2.) 11 May 2021 14:34:06
The parachute payments are too big and last for too long.

The way forward is to lower the size of the payouts and only one second year at a lower rate to give teams time to reduce their wage bill etc. The clubs will still have an advantage from being able to buy lotts of decent players when in the Prem but will have to release some.

Problem solved. Except it is the Prem clubs who vote on the rules, so they won't change.

3.) 11 May 2021 18:53:48
Surely relegation is there as a punishment for not being good enough, as for a club being adversely affected, clubs need to do what we the general public have to do to when we have financial difficulties, cut their cloth accordingly.

4.) 12 May 2021 11:15:40
If clubs didn't spunk tens of millions after promotion in a desperate attempt to stay in the promised land then they wouldn't need parachute payments. All parachute payments do right now is allow clubs to be more reckless when they go up. They need to be stopped or heavily reduced, especially since the introduction of FFP.

As said above, I can see WBA and Fulham being clear favourites to go straight back up.

5.) 12 May 2021 17:44:44
I think what's wrong as well is that the parachute payment doesn't count towards ffp. Basically a double bonus.

6.) 12 May 2021 18:40:38
It would be better if the parachute payments were put in a pot that was shared out between all of the Championship and the relegated Premier league clubs based on their relative league position with the clubs relegated from championship missing out.

The concentration of cash in the yo - yo clubs is getting worse and as everyone is saying the three favourite next season to go up will be WBA, Fulham and Shef United. And the rest of the clubs cannot compete financial because of FFP.

I am afraid if they don't fix this then the championship will become predictable just like the premier league.

But I don't expect this will change.

7.) 13 May 2021 06:50:53
The EPL should mandate relegation clauses in player contracts reducing/ capping salaries. Some would demand relegation release clauses but that's fair enough. Promoted teams would find it slightly harder to compete in the prem, but they could redistribute parachute payments and make the EFL more competitive.

8.) 18 May 2021 16:58:12

I am sorry to say the manager lost that match with bizarre substitutions. A team who for 75 mins played very well. Montial was the only player you would bring off. Yates, Danillo were excellent. Then he brought on Toffolo and moved Aniai to the other side. With drew MGW and put Elanga in who has not done well recently on the wing. Then we had two identical forwards on in Wood and Tiawo. This ruined the game for everyone I have to say. Most went home without saying thank you to the players. Nuno has to go, his record with our club is poor. I agree we are playing more exciting football but there is no point if we still loose. There is no way I will Celebrate staying up on goal difference with Luton. Next season there must be major changes, NOT NEW PLAYERS otherwise I have no doubt we will be relegated. It starts with the manager!

doc m

1.) 11 May 2024 21:40:48
Lol doc I guess the 2 that hit the post from forest was nunos fault as well because he had the posts moved before the game what a load of rubbish west ham got hammered by them last week and they are apart from arsenal and man city the most in form team well done Nuno Nuno nuno.

2.) 11 May 2024 22:04:23
Doc m I’ll celebrate the life out of it, if it’s goal difference it’s only because we have been robbed of 4 points, it’s not our fault Luton and Burnley are crap,

3.) 11 May 2024 22:20:42
Whilst I understand and share your frustration Doc - I've come to the conclusion that the most logical thing to do (which Big M probably won't do. ) is to give Nuno a full pre-season, allow him to give his preferences on signings and then give him 10 games next season to show his true colours. I very much doubt this will transpire, but I hope it does.

4.) 11 May 2024 22:41:54
Yes have to agree there pal. We played well today and the atmosphere was bouncing, it took the gloss off a really good performance. For 80 mins everybody in party mode, a few subs later and very subdued. Still think we have good defenders but they switch off individually too often it's the reason we had 6 or 7 3 2 defeats.

Chelsea were poor today I thought, OK had a lot of the ball but Luke warm performance. We were better than them. Once Reese James gets free to cross why oh why was Jackson allowed so much time to put the ball in the net. No-one picked him up, no one shouted to team mates to pick him up.

I agree Nuno has to go for me only MGW and CHO have improved under him, no point in playing some games better but still losing. The nucleus of a good side is there but needs improving and it depends if we lose 2 if not 3 of them. Murrilo, if a top 6 team come knocking is he really going to want to stay with us, same for MGW, he may stay another season but eventually he going to go. Would be the same even if we were decent mid table it's an unfortunate circumstance of top flight football, players seeking to win things with a top club.

I'll thank Nuno but we need a coach with a philosophy the board thinks is a good idea and could work and believe in his ideas go with him, like Arteta. Let him put the squad together, give him the time not here you go, here's your toys make it work.

5.) 11 May 2024 22:46:38
Stevie live with it we broke rules wtf is up with you lot.

6.) 11 May 2024 22:46:55
I am sorry but something has to change. Nuno has no better track record to his predecessor and lost us this game in front of a huge crowd.

7.) 11 May 2024 22:57:41
some people on here, seriously

Stayed up lads and I personally don't give a monkeys if it's on goal difference or what

Great day out plenty of shandies loads of scantily dressed woman round town n we Stayed up other than missing out on a kebab because of train perfect day.

8.) 11 May 2024 23:13:32
Bowie you need to live with the fact we had a points deduction and still survived, spare me your lecture pal, I repeat it’s not our fault Luton Burnley, and especially that horrible team from Sheffield were dogs***.

9.) 11 May 2024 23:21:59
Redstripe it's not just about today, yes I don't care how we did it or do it just stay up. It's the bigger picture most are talking about. It's OK the fans having a few sherberts but there's no rest for those running the club, things need to change if we want to progress.

10.) 11 May 2024 23:22:37
Firstly if we hadn’t had the point deduction we would be on 33, still 6 pts behind Brentford. I think last year we ended with 34 points. So what have we achieved in a season. Sacked our best manager for many a year and replaced with someone who has not achieved either. My the skin of our teeth we will survive. We sometimes talk about life, that quality is more important than quantity and that applies to our club
I hope we beat another already relegated club next week. Should the club sell our best two players in Murillo and MGW we will have another poor season. If Big M doesn’t see the writing on the wall I woould be surprised. Olympiacus had 4 managers this season and number 4 has got them to the final of a European competition. So let’s hope he feels the same about changing the direction Forest are heading. All the thousands walking out of the ground with us were very subdued. There was no elation about staying up no chanting nothing just flat. They had just seen the manager throw away the final game of the season and deflated everyone’s heart even I suspect the players who tried their hardest for us. Nuno will not charge the direction the club is heading. If the spine of our team is sold we done even before the next season starts in less than 3 months.

11.) 11 May 2024 23:38:49
Good drills Stripe! I'm glad you had a good day. That's what it's all about.

12.) 12 May 2024 08:00:27
Good posts Stevie.

11 May 2024 08:32:22
Forget any VAR decisions in our favour today, a certain Mr Brooks is in charge. An ardent Leicester City fan and therefore by definition against Forest. Be warned.

doc m

1.) 11 May 2024 09:50:46
I was looking at a west ham site about there game against Luton and I would say 50 percent of the comments were they hope Luton win and forest go down I can really see Luton getting some sort of result against them with a little help from var as well.

2.) 11 May 2024 10:47:57
Yeah, we’re doomed ??! I think West Ham will want to put on a show with last home game and Moyes saying cheerio at the end of the season.
Anyway until 5. 30 in a Hammers and Spurs fan. Cor Blimey, stone the crows, Gertcha! Desperate times I know……….

3.) 11 May 2024 11:10:48
Most neutrals will want Luton to stay up, most wanted forest last season, if you don’t care human nature is to naturally gravitate to the underdog. We’re conditioned and hard wired like that from our first memories by thr books we read and the stories we’re told from a very early age.

4.) 11 May 2024 12:26:01
Yes, very true 2stars, we like an underdog and it is instictive in us to sound out injusticies and unfairness! I do hope fans around the country today will look back on the season and remember where/ when these injusticies took place and who has suffered most! Now, let me think- which club comes to mind.

5.) 11 May 2024 15:31:57
Most folk see us as moaning f***ers mate, not hard done to.

06 May 2024 21:54:28
How many times did Murillo save our bacon on Saturday. A display that maybe saved us from defeat and almost certain relegation. No way can we sell this young player who will captain his own country one day.

doc m

1.) 06 May 2024 22:15:27
He's saved our bacon more than just one game
Remember the magnificent header off the line recently?
Just class.

2.) 06 May 2024 22:20:34
Great player works a 110 percent greater things to come from the lad.

3.) 06 May 2024 22:31:00
Brilliant game, but i think sels needs a shout out on the game also.

4.) 06 May 2024 22:34:09
Well, we have signed one good player recently - probably more out of luck than judgement given our lacklustre recruitment team. Thanks for sharing Doc.

5.) 06 May 2024 22:45:07
To be fair murrillo is doing what he’s paid for, pity a few more don’t.

6.) 06 May 2024 22:46:39
Definitely my player of the season.

7.) 06 May 2024 23:19:43
He's total class gazza
But not good enough for balloons ???.

8.) 07 May 2024 05:39:08
Nothing is!
????.

9.) 07 May 2024 05:40:10
Jesus Christ let it go 79. Try coffee for a change ? ?.

05 May 2024 07:40:24
Moving on and not counting chickens. A goal scoring centre forward and a goal keeper surely specialised positions. Last season we were at undoubtedly saved from relegation by Tiawo and Navas. This is why we have struggled this season from the off. Woods has been injured but has done his best but appears past his prime and likely heading out of the club at the end of the season. Tiawo for some reason has been plagued by injuries.
Both Calvert Lewin ( Everton ) and Adebayo ( Luton ) are both key players. Take them out and the clubs struggled. If Adebayo had been fit instead of injured since February, where could Luton be now. So thinking next season we can assume we will not have Tiawo all season. This is hazard for all clubs even Man City and Harland. Sels seems to have secured the goal keepers position, so we need a Tiawo Mk 2 if we are going to be a better side next season.

doc m

1.) 05 May 2024 08:24:22
Cheers lads!
Happy Birthday Bowie. and Skeggs (I think! )
I'm nearly sure there's a third Tricky Tree too!
Enjoy your day!

2.) 05 May 2024 08:49:34
Agreed definitely need a decent I won't say replacement but a similar standard striker to awoniyi.
Think wood has another year well worth another year in my opinion his form has dipped as of late but still got the intelligence to be in the right place at the right time.

3.) 05 May 2024 08:51:08
We also need a centre back for next season, possibly 2 if Murrillo is sold.

28 Apr 2024 20:09:40
Missed the live match and listened to Radio 5 Chris Waddle etc in the car. They said how well Forest played and queried how Forest could be lying just above the relegation zone with that quality of football.
Then an unfortunate number of misses made him realise why. The Radio 5 commentators said Forest should easily beat Sheffield United, a maybe against Chelsea and Burnley so we would survive. This was reassuring but not if you have been a fan for a long long long time. Do you think Chris Woods heart is not in the right place if the Club has said he is not wanted after this season?

doc m

1.) 28 Apr 2024 21:41:19
Doc, I don't have any reservations about Chris Wood mate. He's a genuine pro who just had an off day. Unfortunately it was a bloody big off day.

2.) 28 Apr 2024 23:36:23
Ffs doc, I've heard every moan on here, but are we that sad we call out players not wanting to score young man. It's a natural habit for taylors sake. Thought you were into football years. And btw he doesn't take back handers, officials and VAR get them these days. This site just gets f kn worse at times.

3.) 29 Apr 2024 07:56:59
Not content with questioning the integrity of the officials it's the players integrity now.

I don’t think a young inexperienced manager such as Gerrard or Viera have any chance of saving Forest, infact it’s frying pan into the fire. Who did Crystal Palace replace Viera with a 70 yr old. We would be better with a Sam A, Harry, or Benitez.

There is no doubt we will be next seasons favourites for relegation. I don’t honestly know how we are going to change for the better as a side. Everton are streets ahead of us as are Leicester. Wood I don’t think has been offered or should be a new contract as there was probably no man or woman in the ground over 29, 000 that thought they would have missed the goal from less than 2 yds. Tiawo in a whole season has been blighted by injury, he cannot be relied on. So a new striker is required. Logic - which there is a paucity of - tells you to send scouts to look at all the top
3 strikers in the other major Uk leagues. Our problem is which striker would ever come to a club likely to be relegated, maybe why so many players are imports. So only ‘Nono ‘ can turn this club around. When we are at the bottom of the league come Sept he will be gone, and I will say come back SC.
