I would agree that our defence is not all the problem it is the lightweight literally and metaphorically mid field. We never replaced Henry Lansbury like for like . Osborne is best on the wing and I am afraid bridcutt is afraid to tackle or pass in a forward direction or go past a man . However the management team can only do they're best with offers for players and if they don't want to come what can they do?

I thought Oliver Burke signed for WBA yet not seen his name on the team sheet yet. ? Loan in Jan if still not playing.

doc m

1.) 04 Oct 2017 10:02:17
He made 2 sub appearences, in his first 2 games after signing and has been injured since.

He is on his comeback, having played an hour in the check a trade trophy U21 team , last night.

So, in short, no!

2.) 05 Oct 2017 15:54:57
Burkes done nowt since he left, that 13 mill looks a cracking piece of business.

3.) 06 Oct 2017 22:46:31
One bit of business fawaz did get right, but I'll still get crucified for saying it,who cares,No way was he worth anywhere near that.
Personally think he'll end up with more clubs than Rory mcalroy

4.) 07 Oct 2017 09:10:40
13m may look like good business (and was IMO), but RBL did make a profit on it, so they're happy enough with it too!

The madness of modern football, championship player sold for 13m, makes 5 starts in a season for a Bundesliga team and increases in value!?!

But let's not write off a 20 year old so soon, remember how exciting he looked last August? Time will tell.

5.) 07 Oct 2017 20:58:34
Was scotland under 21 captain yesterday hardly contributed and was taken off at half time.
Seen it all before with Franz Carr, Good business.

6.) 09 Oct 2017 12:35:15
Never quite understood why everyone was raving about him in the first place? Head down and straight line merchant with no tactical awareness. Franz Carr Mark 2

7.) 11 Oct 2017 19:31:10
Agreed mate. however he nearly scored one of the best ever goals v Oldham in the league cup final.

14 Apr 2017 09:49:23
My view is Blackburn have to go for a win. They are now level with Wigan, a draw is no real use to them. I think a patient waiting game for us and then a Brentford / Wolves etc breakaway.

doc m

1.) 14 Apr 2017 10:11:50
For me. I would like to see us take the game to them. An early goal from us could be a hammer blow to Blackburn right now.
Nothing to gain by letting them get comfortable.
Go for it boys!

31 Oct 2015 22:22:41
Nov 6th' D ' day for DF how many managers of both clubs has this been a make or break match. We can all remember that 1-0 victory when after which Nigel C lost his job, also BD 5 0 etc. I feel sorry for DF and hope he has the strength to see this through. You cannot have badluck every match. So if you are doing things right then at least a draw against Preston will happen.

doc m

1.) 31 Oct 2015 23:13:05
What bad luck did we have today? we had good luck in the way of sheff wed not bringing there shooting boots with them because if they had of bought them it would of been 3 or 4 nil.

2.) 01 Nov 2015 08:30:31
There you all go again, blaming DF when the problem is the bigger picture. We would have been able to attract a better manager if the club was being run properly. You will all rejoice when he sacked, in 6-12 months the cycle will continue and some other average managers head will be on the block, and so it will continue. It's Fawaz that's the problem!

3.) 01 Nov 2015 09:12:36
Say the club has been up for sale for x amounts of months like some have been saying, where are these buyers to buy fawaz out and run the club properly? there isn't any who could buy or even maintain the club.
Fawaz has given df what he wants players wise so why can't you blame df? he took the job on he told us what he would do but It wasn't what he is actually doing.
Do you really think fawaz knew who dougie was? no he didn't it was McGovern who advised him to bring him in, that's right McGovern not fawaz. fawaz has been ill advised by the bloke who knows football.

4.) 01 Nov 2015 09:27:31
Yes, you are obviously correct. Fawaz is just unlucky with his advisors, I hadn't thought of that one. Suddenly it's all clear to me. Have a think what 'bigger picture' means : )

5.) 01 Nov 2015 13:21:14
John mcg is a lovely guy but he hasn't got the knowledge to be advising fawaz on how to run a club or what staff to employ - he has worked in hospitality and media and all of a sudden he is picking managers and helping to run a club which to be honest is a mess.

6.) 01 Nov 2015 19:36:37
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought john mcg was an ambassador for the club not an advisor two completely different rolls.

7.) 01 Nov 2015 19:49:18
They are only two different rolls if you have people in the rolls? Who do you think is advising fawaz?

8.) 01 Nov 2015 21:30:55
Sausage roll and Bog roll. Haha!

16 Oct 2015 23:00:47
Poor Forest! I am afraid they are doomed and it almost seems inevitable. The problem is changing the manager will be frying pan into the fire. The only person would be MoN if Ireland didn't do well. Otherwise I think we stick. Is our problem no striker? Again? Is it as simple as that! I would still point out that BD whatever his faults and some say they were legion still has a win rate second to BC, The demise of Forest started after his first sacking.

doc m

1.) 17 Oct 2015 05:29:01
He's bought two strikers in but plays one on the wing and the other up top who has to feed off 60yard punts. Its not the strikers it's the formation and tactics. There's only one person who is to blame, well two in fact the bloke who sits at the side of dougie grinning and smiling when we are getting thrashed.

2.) 17 Oct 2015 07:45:23
As I keep saying, defensive Dougie strikes again. We have the players to win games but the manager does not have a clue how to get the best out of them. Poor tactics and formation again.

3.) 17 Oct 2015 07:49:00
Third person to blame is fawaz who keeps choosing these managers.

4.) 17 Oct 2015 10:35:39
Oh i knew it would not be long before Fawaz got blamed.

5.) 17 Oct 2015 10:43:49
Congratulations to Steve Cotterill on a thoroughly deserved victory. I saw this happening months ago. The only manager to be sacked by an owner without being allowed to manage 1 game! Shame on you Fawaz. Don't think we'll ever beat Leeds at Elland road 7-3 again. Thanks Steve.

6.) 17 Oct 2015 12:17:08
Why? Does Cotterill always win 7-3 at Leeds?

7.) 17 Oct 2015 12:20:02
Gazza, Fawaz hasn't picked a good manager yet in the few years he's been here. I know he puts his hand in his pocket but yes he is to blame for his manager selections.
Now there's an obvious choice of replacement with pearson being out of work. But can fawaz see this?

8.) 17 Oct 2015 13:41:43
Of course Fawaz is to blame

- FFP is his fault
- Managers in and out are his fault
- Club sponsorship or lack of it
- position in league
- Everyone (Especially Derby) laughing at us
- Chance of relegation
- Pressure on DF who is doing a great job in circumstances not many others would put up with

Wake up and realise that Fawaz is ruining our club.

9.) 17 Oct 2015 13:59:48
Fa wazz I agree with your post apart from the bit about DF doing a great job. He quite clearly isnt.

10.) 17 Oct 2015 14:15:44
Didn't fawaz save our club from doom without him we would probably be in league 2 by now. He has given fans there chance and say on managers I'm not his biggest fan but can't remember seeing him on the pitch last night. It's about time players started taking the blame and have a bit of pride in the shirt they are wearing.

11.) 17 Oct 2015 14:29:40
Ryry are you saying fans have had a say in the managers we've had ffs. That's ridiculous. No one is questioning fawaz spending but his managerial decisions and other things he has done have been woeful.

12.) 17 Oct 2015 14:41:16
Hi Cannock,

I just meant that he is doing well to last as long as he has with an interfering owner, no money and a bunch of loans and misfits. Who else would want the job? No-one decent, that's for certain.

13.) 17 Oct 2015 14:44:24
Fans asked for Davies back we got Davies fans wanted him gone after Derby he went fans wanted Pearce we got Pearce he does listen to the fans opinions hopefully just not yours.

14.) 17 Oct 2015 14:52:39
Cannock you do know it isn't fawaz who does a list of managers, it's McGovern who recommends them to fawaz and they both pick the manager. do you really think fawaz knew who dougie was before his name was mentioned? have a day off he signs the deals off but it's McGovern who gets the candidates in.

15.) 17 Oct 2015 15:33:01
That's absolute garbage ryry.
I thought you was fawaz uptheforest. Is it a case of you won't hear a bad word about yourself?

16.) 17 Oct 2015 18:18:42
When it's made up its slanderous to call him for something he hasn't done. would you rather fawaz shut up shop and not give managers players that they want? that would see us in league two but as long as fawaz isn't the owner you would be ok with that?

17.) 17 Oct 2015 19:31:41
What are you on about upthefawaz? All I said was fawaz doesn't pick managers based on loaning fans and if he does God help us.
Apart from his investment fawaz hasn't run the club at all well. His decision making is awful.

18.) 18 Oct 2015 11:09:39
Fawazs running of the club is shocking he knows nothing about football or running a sports club he needs people who would give him sound advise and he needs to own the club not run it, look at the last CEO we had who walked because fawaz would t let him do his job.

19.) 18 Oct 2015 17:49:20
OMG, I hadn't realised. We are doomed, the manager and the owner are completely incompetent, the team is total rubbish, and it's still only mid October. I think I'd better rush off and buy a season ticket for a successful club like Notts or Mansfield. I suggest the drama queens on this string get a life and a sense of perspective. But what do I know, I've only been a supporter for 39 years.

20.) 18 Oct 2015 19:03:20
Geezer, I have been a supporter for 39 or 40 years too. I include our time in League 1 when I say this, we are in the worst mess I can remember. Sorry but that's the cold honest truth. I have real concerns about the future if the club under this idiot of an owner. See past the rhetoric and look at the performance both on and off the field. What's coming next? Relegation? liquidation? Another change of manager is inevitable followed by another and another. No stability, no strategy, no hope.

21.) 18 Oct 2015 22:13:10
I would love Bamford back we should never ave sold him in the first place. Why do we always tend to get in defensive minded managers it pees me right off. I went to the Cardiff game Boro and hull, teams we should be battering at home! Dougie should be making the City Ground a fortress, so sick and tired of the negative tactics, we need to be playing to our strengths, I would be playing 3 up front and Tyler walker would be one of them everytime, Mendes, Olivera and Walker no holding midfielder just Williams and Lansbury middle, Chris O'Grady might work his socks off but there's just no end product ward left Burke right let's go all out attack? Teams can't handle it they don't know what day it is when you hit them hard exactly what drizzle city did to us. KTF

Yooooooooooou Reeeeeeeeeeeeeds

P. S. F. A. Wazz! Do you know mystic Meg by any chance? Lighten up youth.

22.) 19 Oct 2015 08:21:44
Bamford was sold because of the finacial situation our previous owner put us in same as wes Morgan. doughty had to penny pinch but all that seems forgotten now and the blame has shifted onto fawaz. fans were moaning about doughty not putting his hand in his pocket towards the end but those same people were happy when fawaz came in a stuck his hand in his pocket, but now there not. weird. just another case of fans not making there minds up or not knowing what they want.
Talk of liquidation! lol. get real the owner has plenty of money so how would it go into liquidation, the debts (which started with previous owners) just keep rolling on and we have cut the wage bill massively this year which brings us within ffp for next season so talk of liquidation is pantomime stuff, a fan of 39 years talking like this just shows that some are clueless regardless of age or how much footy they have watched.

Just a short note on the two results of 'top ' teams that have visited us recently.
Wolves went to SUnited and lost and SWed went to Birmingham and lost, = we are going to be toast on Saturday. I have commented over many seasons how our match with Derby is pivotal in a season for managers of both sides . Surely history is not going to repeat itself again.

doc m

1.) 27 Sep 2017 23:22:44
Spot on with that post doc the game.against the sheep is make or break for the breadman

2.) 27 Sep 2017 23:31:50
Well Shef U have always been a thorn in our side and bullied us. I can see our wallflowers being trampled playing the Warbo Plan A game.

Confidence and belief in your ethos is to be admired but extreme arrogance in the face of the glaring obvious is a recipe for oblivion!

I really hope that I am completely wrong and will be happy to eat humble pie if Warbo pulls off a result.

3.) 27 Sep 2017 23:36:03
Doc sheet Utd played against 10 men for 75 mins.
Sheff wend havnt visited us.
Boro came to us and lost.
It's the championship.
Tell you what if you so sure we are toast put your money on Sheffield Utd to beat us,you'll get at least 6/5.
Easy money?

4.) 28 Sep 2017 07:02:05
This league is so unpredictable this year I struggle to do my coupon on the championship teams I have not seen one stand out team that would walk this league teams will keep taking points from each other hopefully this to a point will help us out until our defence gets sorted and January comes and we're mid table I've never seen a tougher league in years let's hope the team gives a 100 percent a bit of luck and 3 points would be great and not impossible Saturday

5.) 28 Sep 2017 10:26:20
Trying to be objective I thought for much of Tuesdays game we played as well as we have done all season. On the other hand Fulham were the best attacking team by far that we have met this season they attacked with pace and strength. If we had played the same formation and intensity against Wolves and Leeds we could have beaten both teams. It was just our luck at the moment that we met a Fulham team in such good form. Sheffield It's will be a different game again. They will be hard working but if we play with the same intensity as we did for much of the Fulham game we have every chance of winning easily even f it might have to be 5 - 3.

6.) 28 Sep 2017 10:32:56
Two bad defeats against Sheffield Utd and Derby and I don't see how MW could carry on.

7.) 28 Sep 2017 11:46:50
Let's hope for forest that doesn't happen then Dr n as I think another change in not just management but the management team that would go with him will definitely see us league one next season

8.) 28 Sep 2017 12:57:40
Sorry we have got to get away from sacking a manager every time results don't go our way. I realise times have not been great for us reds over the 21st century, but let us have some patience. Mick Mcarthy seems to be turning it round at Ipswich for example.

9.) 28 Sep 2017 16:07:37
I agree but the manager has to recognise when his methods aren't working. It's not as if we're unluckily losing by the odd goal - we are being battered.

10.) 29 Sep 2017 06:10:11
Dr N. What do you mean battered?. We were battered by Chelsea, which you expect, in 10 league games we have lost 6 and have been beaten by Two goals in Three, and by One goal in Three.

25 Sep 2017 22:28:54
There is no way that the club should ever contemplate changing the manager this season unless they are in the bottom three at Christmas. We have got a manager with proven credentials in this league. We are all mere paupers in understanding football, motivating players deciding tactics etc. We have gone nowhere since BD and not since built a winning team. WB is trying to get the players to play a certain way and good on him to try something different ( like Chelsea do and did ) . He obviously observes games and where the players are best played. So let him do it and we as fans encourage the players tomorrow night. I am sure it will come right it just may be a challenging ride early on.

doc m

1.) 26 Sep 2017 01:15:39
We are not convincing when we win and even less in defeat. MW misses the obvious, has his favourites and does not learn. The team is not built around defence nor attack. Personally i think he is out of his depth. My want has turned to hope fir him to succeed as in this downward spiral the confidence is sapping fast. Good experienced pros and a goalscorer being dumped says a lot to me. He was unable to handle joey barton. Says a lot about us not having a vocal experienced skipper on the pitch!

2.) 26 Sep 2017 04:41:45
Bridcutt is the new leader on the pitch. Keep saying it doesn't all change overnight so be patient. I know its frustrating but I agree. See where we are by xmas. MW says we are not far off what he wants us to be and the players feel that too. Let him prove it. Two more tough games coming up.

3.) 26 Sep 2017 10:14:14
Sorry doc but since when does 1 season on this league make you believe he has proven credentials. Brentford were that convinced of his credentials they sacked him. I'm not advocating getting rid of mw yet but please don't make out he is something he is not. He is very inexperienced in management compared to many.

4.) 26 Sep 2017 10:42:21
Syred. Where did Redknapps experience get him, where did Wagners inexperience get him.

5.) 26 Sep 2017 11:08:30
I'm not suggesting anything about other managers just that MW is not as experienced as some people keep talking up. He's had 1 good season in this league and never yet had a managers job where things haven't gone better than expected. This is new territory for him and he is not yet proven at turning it around.

6.) 26 Sep 2017 15:24:32
Yeah next manager please stand up please stand up come on Warbo get it together tonight and show us what you're made of and before anybody replys dough to that don't! Coyrs

7.) 26 Sep 2017 16:30:01
Towiu. I want Warburton to do well, once he has fine tuned the football we play, and hopefully gets next Summer to get rid of some more unwanted players as well as bringing in some more players that are an improvement in what we have we can be all be cheerful, but winning one game does not show what a manager is made of.

20 Sep 2017 20:48:01
WB has put a good defensive side and two forwards. It is not his fault that the goals occurred but defensive errors and a certain amount of Chelsea skills. Note Arsenal 1 Doncaster 0

doc m

1.) 20 Sep 2017 21:04:05
What defence? When will he realise Fox is a liability at left back and Bouch cannot hold the DM position on his own?

2.) 20 Sep 2017 21:05:25
Good defensive side?? Two up front away to Chelsea but 1 up front at home in Championship?? Naive.👎

3.) 20 Sep 2017 23:53:14
Suppose we'll have to get rid of him then?obviously don't know anything about football according to you?
I think I trust his judgement over yours,No offence

09 Sep 2017 22:37:33
Today Osborne put the rest of the team in a shadow. We are lost without a 'Britt' yet again, we need a proven goal scorer. Murphy and Cummings need to play together not on their own. Hobbs was good Worral needs a rest and Eric needs his right back position restored. Attractive to watch at times but little punch in the final third. Murphy Osborne and Hobbs played well but that's it. Sunderland are doing badly so this is another milestone for us.

doc m

1.) 10 Sep 2017 10:42:00
Britt wouldn't score if he doesn't get the service either. I thought Cummings was desperately unlucky not to score with his curled effort round the keeper, headed off the line.

Give him better service and he will score no doubt, I thought he made good runs all game till subbed.

2.) 10 Sep 2017 12:56:51
Cummings will be a good player for us, he's got attributes we haven't had for a while up front. Not a replacement for assombalonga but a very good addition.

Lansbury is by far the best player at our club and inspires the team. Can anyone name any other player in his class. At this club. He should go to Watford and further his ambitions. The club have lost two and drawn one without him. It will be interesting to see the score against Barnsley without him.

Surely if someone is that near buying the club they will not change the manager at this stage. Fawaz must realise if Forest go down then he says goodbye to all his money. Common sense tells you the position our club is in is not 100% may be 60%. Jose has lost it and even with stupid money paid for players they can't win. Warnock is an example of a very good motivator. There are others we could all name and Gareth Southgate is not one of them incidentally. My view is we must stick with PM at least until Xmas. Supporters need to shout for him. When he came from who knows but there seems to have been a Greek hand in this so I suspect they may still take over. Although my choice would have been Red Bull who must desire a club like ours and then vis a vis napoli and Watford swop players ie OB!

I agree WB must stay , he worked the magic with Brentford and will do so with us. The passing game is how all the top
Clubs play. Ok we have messed it up a few times. However it is getting better. There was one such move I saw that almost led to a goal. So let's wait and see. I would like to see Bereton and Vellios up front as a pair for Saturday. I have no doubt the amazing away supporters will carry on singing and chanting on Saturday.

I hope we will see a refreshed Forest tonight playing away from the City Ground. Some of our players lack confidence .They are aware and hear the collective groan from 20,000 fans when a pass goes astray. We forget how young they are. So tonight there will be 4,000 vociferous genuine fans, ( anyone who goes home and away ) . So let's hope they relax and play football that those 4,000 will go home proud to be a Forest fan

The bottom line is we go to be entertained . If you loose 3 0 as maybe we will on Wednesday no one will complain as long as we are having our fair share of attacks. Football is a mind game and we are too nervous in possession or taking on players or confidently hitting a ball greater than 20 yds to a fellow red. If we miss the crowd sense this and react. So next time you do a 5 yd pass! I hope that we will get improve. Maybe Wednesdsy play Henderson in goal , Eric , Caryol , Velios and Walker bouchakis Hobbs , clough , manciene if fit plus bridcutt and Mackay

Re Huddersfield - are they another Watford then i. e. import multiple players into your side. Would we accept promotion if the Reds did precisely that i. e. a Greek set of imports. So do we say the premier league whatever? ED any thoughts after Brexit re European take overs and transfers will it make a difference?
