Whilst I agree they do look good.
It would be a sad day for English football when the England manager selects players from the championship

2.) 03 Sep 2014
Like other more successful teams at the world cup.

3.) 03 Sep 2014
Possibly the worst England side I've seen. Defence are poor, midfield average and toothless up front.
So glad things are so positive with Forest because the national team just depress me.
Up the reds

England have underperformed since Forest stopped providing players.
So maybe the world is aturning?

With the ever decreasing number of English Qualified players in the Premier League where does TheFamousTeam suggest we look for future England players. I don't remember a rule stating that only players in Premier clubs can play international football. Surely a confident championship player is worthy of a look in. Also some players get a call up simply for playing for the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal without ever being international class or holding down a regular start for their clubs eg Jones, Smalling or Gibbs

After watching that drab affair last night I can honestly say RB Jack Hunt and CM's Lansbury and Cohen would not have looked out of place in that team! Also can someone tell if Assasombalonga has played international level for anyone yet?? Surely a good punt for an England U21 spot?????

I find the quote "It would be a sad day for english football when we select players from the championship" a very strange one considering we are experiencing some of the saddest days in english football history! Someone needs to tell Roy Hodgson & thefamousteam its time to pick players on ability, and qualities they bring to the team, rather than reputation.

England will go nowhere with hodgson at the helm completely uninspiring. I don't dispute Rooney's ability but he has failed us at every major competition. Patently on Monday Sturridge Sterling and Wellbeck should be first choice with Lambert. I am not impressed by Wiltshire or Henderson.

Didn't pearce play for England when we were in the second tier?

10.) 04 Sep 2014
I do not think that selecting players from the championship should be an issue. The teams in the Premiership are largely made up from players from abroad so English talent do not get a chance. You only have to look at some of the teams which played at the world cup and some players played in the second tier in European leagues.

There is also a trend where the bigger clubs are bringing young players over to join their academy`s so this also restricts young English talent.

Assambolonga has yet to play international football at any level, but is qualified to play for England and the Congo.

12.) 04 Sep 2014
England players never get chance to play together enough take the world cup we had three games before and blew it. I propose a series of friendly games against championship teams as training efforts and Hodgkin could use it to look at the likes of those mentioned above. I would love to see forest or even a championship eleven (. all English) play England. What you think?

13.) 04 Sep 2014
Easily the worst English defence I've seen in my lifetime but I think we have a fair few English players who have not got a cap yet and yes Lansbury will defo be in that squad by next season. Many people hate him but Ashley cole should still be in squad the man commands respect.

14.) 04 Sep 2014
A strong english championship side would beat that shower that was on show last night

15.) 04 Sep 2014
Fully agree with Stu. The important word being "team". how difficult is it to get a group to gel

16.) 05 Sep 2014
Something's rotten with the game when we can't get a decent amount of English players in our own league, but the manager should pick the best players wherever they play. Loads of players from the championship go on to do really well in the premier league so surely some could perform well at England level
