Excellent performance and a good result. We were much better than Liverpool in the first half and even in a more even 2nd half you still couldn’t tell which team were the £350 million plus big spenders and which have spent less than a quarter of that.
McAtee was superb but a shout out to our hard working and skilful “hod carrier” Schlager in midfield. He broke up countless Liverpool attacks and got us moving forwards with simple balls.
Jesus was a nuisance to their defence all afternoon with his workrate. Worked hard to keep the ball and beat much bigger defenders in the lead up to our first. Thwarted by a brilliant tip onto the crossbar which might have put the game to bed.


Solid all round team performance and a welcome step in the right direction by OG.
You can always tell that Liverpool were upset that we didn’t roll over and die by Iraola’s post match whinging (about the penalty and about the delays in getting his subs on. Even the VAR check for our first etc etc).
Showed plenty of passion and commitment after the limp midweek performance. A nod to Delap’s quick thinking for the throw in. His Dad is a legend for throw ins in this neck of the woods.
Aina was a stand out as was Neco until they tired.

Great post, Stokey. I've not posted for quite a while, but still check in, and have been following the 'banter'.
I know you were very much pro VP, so to put such a reasoned and positive post on gives you credit in my view. Someone actually commenting on what you saw, not just point scoring. Fair play, mate.
For what it's worth, I was very surprised with the change, I really was. But tbh, I don't think there's anything at all to worry about. Very encouraging today, I thought it was a really good performance.

And, with a couple more signings, it should be a less stressful season! McAtee played well today, probably his best game for Forest. We will definitely miss Anderson, he's a quality player, he was great for MC last night. Does all the 'below the radar' work every team needs, maybe without Anderson, McAtee can come into his own. Noticed he was a bit deeper a lot today, and seemed to suit him.
All in all, very encouraging.
Maybe we will live the Glasner Marinakis dream! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
