It's been a while but I'm out of hibernation.
New username (you know the drill)
Can anyone remember the 1978 world cup in Argentina? The passion and the colourful support of the fans I was amazed by it.
I have always dreamt of such an atmosphere at the City Ground but I never expect it to happen.
Well it did and wasn't it awesome.
No matter what happens at the end of this season they can't take that away.
And I'll never forget it.

Yes I do mate it was my first World Cup where I could understand what was going on, I supported Scotland as I had heard of dalgliesh, gem mill etc, I remember them doing Holland but also the shock of them losing to Peru, the big thing at the time for me as a child was the excitement of collecting panini stickers and trying to fill an album, all the kids on our street were doing it, great times growing up in Eastwood.

I was just starting to understand football too, and the World Cup was like a wonderful awakening. however I heard that Scottish World Cup song so many times, I honestly thought they only had go over and pick the bloody thing up and come home again!
82 World Cup was amazing too. my first "Awakening" to the fairer sex. my first girlfriend, over 40 years later, and I still think of her from time to time, she was a combination of Steffi Graff, and Jennifer Anniston. (You get the picture) couldn't believe my luck.
Wonderful times, wish I could just go back there for one day. 🙄.

Does anyone remember Peter Shilton riding around in helicopters opening Barrats housing estates, he did one in Eastwood (woodland way estate) we all rode up there on our bikes and waited for shilts to land Proper excitement that in them days! As I understand it he was abit of a character off the field, women and liked a flutter?

And so to bed.
Don't wake skegs up, still dreaming of ena sharples in a number 9 shirt, and how he nearly went to a forest game once. But he owned a bar, once, and now does forensics on bog seats, teeth only. Netflix just done a series on him. Just about innocent. you call me a tiger Woods waller skegs, at least i can pull forest out the bag son. Try it someday. Instead of disneyclub and raul paul shop duty frees, maybe you will see some football instead of radio di ck listening to games 15 minutes while at work bi tch.

If Nuno Tavares is fit he must play. He's on a totally different level of ability and physical strength to Niakate, Omabamadele and Williams.

Hes a wing back not a centre back
Not great at defending but good going forwards.

Fellow Reds. I've been digesting all of your recent posts about our club's current woes - which have been excellent to read. We certainly show passion on this site as loyal supporters which is brilliant! My take on this, for what it's worth, is that we've now had more than our say about the injustices that our club has suffered from. VAR and refereeing standards within the PL are now in the news. Questions are now being asked about the current system which go way beyond Forest now. In life, it does feel good to stand up for your rights against the system, be a 'rebel' and argue your cause. However, there is also a time to shut-up once you have created those 'waves' and let them take their course. I think we have now made our point as a club. I would now love to see us fight for our place in the PL on the field with pride, but also with dignity.

Ira time for nuno to turn up and be the coach he's supposed to be?

To me He's one of life's moaners?
Arms crossed in the technical area with no sign of emotion?
When the defeat arrives?
It s never his fault?
Its down to referee's
Has anyone heard his name sung at the city ground?
He's a strange one for me.

Just a few observations
1 / they always shoot the messenger
2/ The top premier league teams were secretly planning to break away, which would have seriously impacted the money coming in to the remnants of the league. No punishments handed out as far as I know.
3/ FA guidelines state that referees have to declare conflicts of interest when officiating in a particular game. Did Atwell declare any and if so who allowed him to carry on?
4/ why do full backs give wingers so much space in the modern game?
5/ why don't we have players on the posts for corners?
6/ why are players read War and Peace when they're preparing to come on as subs?
7/ why is a Derby fan in charge of the club's official tweets when trying to justify the clubs season card waiting list and season card pricing policy amid the genuine concern that some long term loyal fans will find it financially difficult to carry on? Are they deliberately winding people up?
8/ why is Gary Neville a dick?
9/ why did Souness on Talk Sport say refs aren't biased then go on to say they do favour the big clubs and that it takes a brave ref to give a pen at the Kop end against Liverpool?
10 / and the last one. The FA cup has been decimated again for benefit of the top clubs playing in Europe. No big nights at Old Trafford or The Emirates etc, as a reward for holding one of the so called giants to a replay.
Greed is ruining this game.
Ah feeling a lot better now with that lot off me chest.
Right, bring on City and let's give em a bloody good tabbing.
They've probably spent more on bloody lawyers in trying to dodge having 115 charges looked at, than we've spent on players.
Happy days.

I agree we are not good enough. We are poor throughout the whole club from the management to the players.
But the standard of refereing and VAR decisions has been shocking this season, and I beleave something had to be said maybe not the way Forest went about it. Because if it wasn't then these referee's would just carry on in there arrogant ways. i'm in charge you can't question me attitude. If some change for the good of the game comes out of all this maybe its not been all bad.

Yes sometimes it takes one voice who stands alone and calls out the wrong s in something they are usually pulled down through ignorance and fear and punished! , but there will be changes made because of it the establishment cannot do no other they can't have this happening to a top 6 club it wouldn't look good. And those people with their ignorance and fear need to keep being able to draw their SKY money they're like sheep when one BAA S THEY ALL BAA 🐑🐑🐑.

Please please please Nuno learn the lesson from Brighton last night do NOT try to play out from the back against City! Get the ball forward early as they play a high line

My team and formation to get a win or at least a point

Sels

Obamadele
Niakhate
Murrilo

Williams
Yates
Sangare
MGW
Aina

Elanga
Wood.

I’m liking the 3 at the back Munmad! I’d always pick Yates despite all his detractors on here. Missed him v Everton. Sanghere? 🤔.

26 Apr 2024 10:21:54
There has to be a player in there somewhere mate and what bigger stage to prove it on than Coty at home, start him and if it doesn’t pay off change him for Danilo or Dominguez

He made his reputation at PSV as a player who wins the ball and protects the back line.

Agree1 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 10:58:14
Yes, good point. He must be a footballer somewhere and Sunday would be a good platform for players who want to out the club. Might be his last outing in a Forest shirt.

26 Apr 2024 11:09:51
Yates is a no from me. He will never keep up with the speed of play from Man City and because of that Give loads of needless fouls away.

By all means play him against Sheffield and Burnley but not City.

26 Apr 2024 11:24:42

26 Apr 2024 13:16:09
MM I agree 3 at the back and Elanga rather than HO. Personally I would rest MGW and and play Reyna in that role. Sean Dyche did with Calvin- Lewin knowing they would inevitably loose to Chelsea. All we have to do is park the bus for 90 mins. I would probably if there is a back 3, two wing backs, pack the midfield with Dominguez, Yates, Danillo, Reyna and leave Origa up top.

Agree3 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 14:07:26
Don't risk Wood save him for the others throw in Reyna and the young Portuguese lad at sometime in the match Sunday is a free go for the bench warmers even give Turner a go he has something to prove.

26 Apr 2024 14:30:36
I’d leave Origi up top alright of Mount Everest😱.

Nuno won’t Learn mate, he’s been a complete disaster - let’s be honest he has.

Like hughton he could have, should have done much better than he has, he joins a long least of fairly decent coaches who have a reasonable track record but have been bafflingly incompetent- forest is a poison chalice and when the poison in the chalice is over come our impulsive owner gets rid of him - all very odd.

Agree2 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 15:22:53
Every time I see Nuno expressionless, just stands there. Won’t be here next season, and I think Eddie Howe won't be at Newcastle either, the Saudis want more. So there’s a name to put in the mix. Wouldn’t be a bad move.

It doesn't matter who play's.
Against Man City it will against 12 Player's.
Decisions will go against Forest and will advantage Man City.
It's obvious Forest are disliked in the Premiership.

Think most people think we moan too much, glad to see the back of us. We will be remembered as the club that stupidly brought in a record amount of over rated players ( mostly) stupidly put ourselves in FFP, then limped out of the league like a streak of wet cabbage.

Better than being forgotten. The system is suspect, why don't we accept it, curl up on your sofa and keep your mouth shut. Eat humble pie cower away and the system just carried on and on.
Remember the cream of world football in Switzerland, things can be done.
72 years supporting this club, yes at the moment it's not being fun that well, we don't know if we got the pen or if we would have scored, no matter.
If, just if, we have some success with this attack on the PL, the smaller clubs benefit but are keeping there heads down and would reap the reward.

26 Apr 2024 08:42:10
So we just sit back and say NOTHING?
You 2 forget we bring a brilliant atmosphere to home AND away grounds!
Sorry to disappointed yous, however you'll probably find more people actually WANT us to stay in this league than don't.
Pathetic lads, PATHETIC!

Mixed views on all this. I wonder what Brighton fans make of our case after watching some decisions last night. Sadly I watched the match only to scrutinise the refs performance. I perceive the media establishment now starting to make gentle noises supportive of the referees and the football establishment itself. Odd times!

Another thought: Last night, did the ref NOT give the pen to Brighton because of the outcry by Forest over the CHO appeal aginst Everton. They were similar tackles. Are they trying for the 'consistency' line. Has that tackle set a precedent?

At least Luton show fight and Spirit.
Forest some time's play like they've never kicked a football.

In Greece in may have influence but here he's merely an owner of a poorly ran club.

How do we compare to Brighton? I think a lot less m abilities and manager. Currently losing 4 -0 against our next opponents. They will have to beat us to try and win the premier league. My opinion only is that we will be in for a demoralising pasting. There is no point trying to attack, we just need to suppress the score line so we can maintain a better goal average than lowly Luton! Yes we have sunk so low that we are vying with Luton to survive. What a huge waste of Big Ms money to end up where we are. It really is complete mismanagement of a severe degree. I cannot see any Forest team formation that will have us beat Burnley and the blades. Remember if I can, that in 2 seasons to date we have won a total of 3 away matches. So does anybody believe we can win the next two? It would involve a complete turnaround of attitude, managerial skills, belief they can win a match. The Burnley match might be our final chance to survive but we may already be sunk. Those who say the championship is better won't be saying that when we are at the bottom of that league too. I like many others will renew my season tickets and support them till I am no more. Somehow we have lost our way and I don't think we will find our way back.

The only person that has wasted Marinakas money is the man himself. He sets the agenda, hires all the sub standard staff and let's his son run riot with daddy's cheque book.
Self inflicted no sympathy whatsoever. The man's a buffon 🎈.

Agree9 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 08:09:27
Exactly Marinkas acting and playing like he does for Olympiacos where they are top dogs and command some kind of top dog respect, people running scared of them. Think he knew about Forest and the history and thought he could waltz into the prem and establish us as one of the big boys. He didn't realise that to most football fans born after 1980 that we are " Forest who, oh yeah didn't they win the European cup back in the day".
Think he needs to get his ego into check because if we do by some miracle stay up then I don't think we could survive another season with the same ethos. Currently I think with the squad we have now we'd struggle to break into the top 10 in the championship.
